Met Mr. Nobu on my way out. What a humble and sincere chef. His stores are my favorite and I would love to eat here every day.

I stumbled upon Matsuhia on the recommendation of a guest services person, who told me that the chef was famous locally. Despite my initial scepticism about the exterior of the restaurant, I was blown away by the incredible food I tasted. It was a five minute walk from the hotel. I ordered some sushi rolls and other dishes for takeaway, and while waiting for my order to be prepared, I could hear their phone ringing off the hook with customers calling in to make reservations for lunch and dinner. It was clear that this chef's reputation preceded him! The decor inside the restaurant may be a little outdated and not the highest quality, but the food more than made up for it. In fact, I would even say that the food was Michelin Star quality - it was that good. As someone who loves trying new restaurants and unique food, I was pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem. What I thought would just be a quick takeaway ended up being one of the best meals I've had in a long time, and it's priced moderately, too. The service was friendly and engaging, and I appreciated that the chef has even produced a recipe book for those who want to try making his wonderful food at home. Overall, Matsuhia is a must-try for any foodie, whether you're looking for a sit-down restaurant experience or just some tasty takeaway to enjoy in your hotel room. It was a true surprise to find another great restaurant that serves takeaway, and I can't recommend it enough!

Really great omakase menu. It was our first time going here, and I loved tasting the different hit and cold dishes. Even the wines and sales were reasonably priced. While not a cheap meal, a very satisfying meal, and we will be back to try more amazing food.

Best time to eat here is during lunch. This is Nobu before it became Nobu Celebrity Hotspot, and also some of the most fresh sushi in LA I highly recommend the Sashimi selection, Hamachi Kama, and Wagyu

First time dining at Matsuhisa having been to a few Nobu restaurants. A much simpler style venue. Personally would make sure to ask for inside seating when booking rather than the extended area outside. Our server was top quality, made some great recommendations and had a great sense of humour. Food was top quality!

Love Love Love this Place! Amazing people, super helpful, it was our first time visiting and our server explained and recommended amazing choices. The monkfish liver was superb, the scallop hand rolls out of this world, and the homemade sorbet was exquisite. Very cool vibe, love the atmosphere. I actually forgot my purse and belongings when I left, and was relieved to find out they had it locked away in a very safe place until we came back to retrieve it. Thank you for an amazing evening, outstanding sushi, and warm hospitality. My go to sushi restaurant every time I visit Beverly Hills!

Kreestol Lee-Kohley

WOW- the best of the best!! We sat at the bar and chef Yoshi, surprised us over and over with his many special sashimi platters... we asked for chef's choices and were blown away!! My daughter was not a fan of sushi before so we started at Nobu last summer (She loved it) so now Matsuhisa has her converted for life. Thank you Chef Yoshi and the entire staff for the amazing food and service. My regret, not dining here sooner and only other complaint- it's packed and very loud with limited space but that can be a good thing for some. Must try- and bring extra cash or high limit cc because you'll want to order everything on the menu. It's truly that delicious!!!

The food was simply fantastic. The table setup is kind of strange. If you want to see famous people this is the place to go. When you go be sure and bring your wallet because a meal for two can easily run $225 - $400! But it is so worth. I had among other things salmon belly sushi. It melts in your mouth.

After many visits over the years, this restaurant never ceases to impress with its excellent quality fish and ingredients to the outstanding sushi chefs. Omakase experience for two at this restaurant may be on the pricier side, but it is truly amazing. The sushi is incredibly fresh, and the servers are very friendly. Surprisingly, we didn't have a reservation but were able to walk in. We even spotted several celebrities during our visit! I highly recommend trying it out at least once, and I personally can't wait to go back again.

Nobu dishes and quality with a more lowkey ambiance. Photos are from takeout but have enjoyed going in-person as well a couple times and it never disappoints ! I enjoy sitting at the sushi bar. It’s casual. The food is excellent and consistent, always fresh. takeout order: 2 squid pasta, 1 yellowtail scallion roll, 1 tuna asparagus roll, and 1 daily special roll :-)

Nobu’s LA staple is surely standing the test of time. Can’t begin to explain the journey, but just make sure you get to experience it for yourself. I recommend watching the Nobu documentary on Amazon before you go, it’ll make it that much more special and give you some insight.

Go back to where it all began for Nobu. You might see him there too. Small, Japanese canteen style eatery. Stunning food! Order the toro (hot dish) preferably without the sauce (for the hardcore tuna belly fans!), Kobe tacos and the rice dessert are amazing. So are some of the other dishes in the pictures I posted but can't remember their names.

12 days in a row. This place is flawless. There is a special 12 sashimi with random sauce that I love. The rice pudding and cappuccino desserts are a must. The iced green tea is great. Don't skimp. Don't ask. Just eat and be happy.

Food was amazing.. as expected of course but this was beyond expectations. Not cheap but way above expectations for what we did pay. Ron is a legend - despite being full (walk in only remained) kindly accommodated us as I had a guest with a wheelchair and we didn’t want to make her come all that to get turned around. Ron super understanding and catered to us, holding a table for our arrival. Staff, service, food all 10 stars!

Friday evening dinner absolutely fantastic service and delicious sushi. We had an array of options including lobster, salmon, shrimp, mixed vegetables, Chilean sea bass, octopus, and whitefish. The best sushi I have ever had. Our server Junior provided superb service. Will definitely be back.

We were seated in the new dining room and ordered the Omakase at $200 per person. They have a $250 option but we did not order it, i understand the difference it has wagyu beef, so order it if you like wagyu. I enjoyed the famous cod and tuna steak, but the the dessert was what we enjoyed the most. My overall impression is this such an iconic LA restaurant by chef Nobu that you have visit at least once to enjoy the restaurant where it all started for Nobu-san. Make reservations, it gets busy.

Keeping this short—Matsuhisa is simply an outstanding establishment. The food is incredible, and the servers are some of the best I’ve encountered: knowledgeable about every detail on the menu and genuinely passionate about what’s created in their kitchen. A true gem. Highly recommend trying the Kama-Toro — it’s phenomenal!

Roger Brown

Fantastic sushi. Even the included mixed greens salad was tossed with a delicious, unusual sesame dressing. The server identified each of the eleven fish and recommended which not to dip (touch) soy sauce. The uni from Japan was perfect: very fresh, of course, fine-grained with a taste and fragrance of the sea. Still water was from Fiji. The ice cream desert was one scoop of green tea, peanut butter, and chocolate (the best I've ever eaten). The cup of ice cream was nestled in a bowl of crushed ice. surrounded by perfect berries. pomelo, passion fruit. All in all: a perfect lunch.

Have heard many great things about this restaurant over the years. All of them are true and exagerated. The service is terrific from the moment you get sat at your table, whether it's from your server, the runner or the busser. But the highlight is the food. Everything our group of five tried was delicious and enjoyed by evwryone. Yes, the menu appears a little pricey at first glance but then you see and taste the quality of the food.

Deeeeee-licious🤤! Took my friend out to an appreciation dinner and he said, "it was the BEST sushi I've EVER HAD" so looks like I showed the right amount of gratitude. Everything was soooo fresh! Service was friendly, helpful and advised us during our entire experience. The Yuzu Margaritas were suspiciously addicting...so good we stayed just a little past close. Matsuhisa won't let you down and best believe you will not leave with a frown ☹️.

Sat on the bar ,we ordered lobster dinner and $201 omakase . Chefs were very friendly and they made delicious food for us , you can tell them what you like (for me is caviar 😋)so they make something related . Caviar taco and spring roll were amazing ! We spent $490 for two person include sakes and drinks .I think the price worth the food quality and experience , will come back .🙂

Had omakase and the course I selected was without A5 Wagyu as I was just craving for authentic Japanese seafood. I was very satisfied with their food in that every food was fresh & tasty with a variety of spices. Truffle oil, olive oil, ginger, special sauce made of ponzu, fresh hot pepper and so on.. Food is in fusion style, yet with obvious stress on the taste of authentic Japanese food. The best dish for me was the three pieces of sashimi. Immediately after I put each of them in the mouth, I was really struck with their tastes. I couldn't take pictures of sushi but it was also fantastic. One more thing is I've not expected to eat tuna steak in this meal but it was served as a main dish. Their (chopped) fried shrimp dipped in ponzu sauce was also awesome. Be aware that hot pepper in the dish might be too spicy for somebody or children. For sure, they provide high quality fresh food and next time, I will try their pure sushi omakase menu. Due to the current crisis, only outside tables are available. valet parking is provided. Anyway, extra charge is mandated if one parks his/her car in their parking lot. $10 was charged without valet parking. Two areas are available for dine-in. One at the parking lot and the other on the street where the main entrance is. Wearing mask and on-site temperature check are also mandatory. They also provide plastic shields between each table. Finally, rest room is also accessible as long as one wears mask.

A friend brought me here while I was in town. For someone who doesn't eat sushi much, I can say it was pretty good. The restaurant was very crowded, as expected. We ended up sitting at the bar and making good conversation with one of the chefs. He recommended a number of dishes, so we tried them all. Had a good time but wouldn't go out of my way to dine here again.

Very good quality fish. The Black Cod is life changing. Staff is super friendly. The sushi pieces were a bit messy for such experienced chefs. Other than that it was amazing.

J

We had the $200 Omakase menu when we visited. Everything was top notch quality and excellent food. The number of courses was a bit on the low end compared to other omakase places you can go to and and this place was a bit more expensive for the price as well. You definitely pay for the Matsuhisa name when you come here. Still a fantastic experience and I would recommend it for sure

C

The food comes out FAST! The tables are closely set so not much room for comfort but the food is decent, my only real complaint was that we werent offered final order before we were given the bill and shoo’ed off because the next reservation had arrived.

Solid Omakase experience at Matsuhisa. We kicked off the meal with a sake flight and beer chasers. 1st Course: Kumamoto Oysters 2nd Course: Salad (Blue Fin Tuna / Sardine / Golden Eye Snapper) 3rd Course: White Fish / Sea Snails / Kampachi 4th Course: Nigiri including Uni 5th Course: Arctic Char / Ponzu Sauce 6th Course: Kobe Beef / Mushroom Risotto / Peruvian Miso Sauce Each course was well thought out. The flavors were really good and the flow via service was very professional. I’d like to try a la carte options on my next visit. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in BH.

Came for a Reservation on Valentines Day for the first time. For the amount of money one pays, the service was not great. We may have come on a busy day, but it was a special day. Not a very welcoming feeling from the waitress. I'm kind of bummed out, but first impressions are everything. Have to go somewhere else for Valentines. The food was good, though.

L
Laila

Ordered it from uber. I was feeling down so I ordered some yellowtail, regular tuna, and toro nigiri, as well as shrimp tempura. Tell me why it made me even more depressed. Had a weird smell, and was so average. The toro didn’t even melt in my life and was quite chewy.

H
Hugo Partagas

Service is great! The sushi, et al, is exactly the quality you would expect. The facility and the ambiance are…well let’s say eclectic…spartan to say the least! I have felt more warm and comfortable at various Waffle Houses throughout the country! It’s very much an “Emperor has no clothes” situation. Most patrons are too pretentious to accept that the place is the equivalent to a double wide trailer home! (Possibly smaller). I will still give it four stars…but in truth that’s in homage to the brand, not this particular location. Hey, it’s LA!

D
Dvir A

Good service However the the portions are tiny, prices are high, and the food does not justify it.

S
SB

Update since last year, another star removed. It's really sad how the quality has gone down, and all this under the stern and watchful eye of Nobu-san's wife who marches up and down It was never exceptional but now it's just average. It's a real shame. The fish was sloppily cut, the rice is good but not great, it's sad to see a restaurant go downhill like this is. It seems most people now go there for the vibe and the memories. Certainly not the quality of the good. There are many truly excellent Japanese restaurants in LA but sadly this one is no longer on the list. It's also unbearably noisy but I suppose for some people that's part of the charm, which would explain why they haven't bothered to put up acoustic panels.

E
Eliana Park

Sushi rice was way too sweet and the appetizers were way too salty. I want my money back. Service was good though.

S
Sehoo Park

Went to try an omakase. Used good ingredients but overall execution was subpar for the expectations and price point. They catered to my girlfriend's dietary restrictions which was nice but the flow of the courses did not mesh well, especially with the two hot dishes being very heavy back to back. The wagyu dish was very disappointing with the poor execution and it's extreme heaviness making the whole meal feel imbalanced. The desserts were phenomenal and as I said before the ingredients were great quality. Would recommend a la carte if going to this location

S
Sean Herbert

Ridiculously overhyped. Overpriced for extremely mid sushi. Got omakase. There are many better places out there. Do not waste your time, check out a place in downtown LA or West LA. This place is absolutely nothing special, will not be coming back. Bill was 570 for two omakase, and drinks. Give me a break! Or make the sushi actually delicious please.

D
Dalia Yerushalmi

This place has a delicious menu. However, our waiter routinely "cleaned" our plates off the table when there was still food in them without asking if we were done. For the price, I would appreciate if they let me relax and eat the food I ordered. We were in and out in 90min, and we did not close out the restaurant. They had no excuse.

J
Jeffrey Katz

I came here for a meal, but I didn’t get one because the weight was so long… I thought that I would get quick service because of the high reputation of the restaurant however, this was not what I got. Instead, I was forced to wait with my tummy rumbling as a hunger grew, and my plate stayed the same size… nothing… I would not come back here if you paid me five dollars. when I saw the look on the servers face after I had asked for the 10th time to be attended in service, they frowned.

I
Isaac Barak

Cheep quality, bad service, insanely overpriced and bad smell during the meal is just awful. The only reason this is not a 1 star review is because of 1 decent sashimi dish. I would never ever go back there again.

Matsuhisa is so overrated. After hearing so much about this restaurant I finally decided to take my girlfriend here for Valentines Day. It was such a disappointment and I would never come back here again. I spent 400 dollars here for a party of 2. We ordered appetizers, sushi, dessert and sake as well. The food was incredibly overpriced and the quality of some of the dishes were questionable. The Scallop Kushiyaki was very dry even when it was drenched in teriyaki sauce. Initially I wanted to order the White Fish Tempura but the server suggested that I order the Tempura with their special sauce. Upon receiving the bill, I saw that adding the special sauce with red onions and jalapenos was an additional $20. The White Fish Tempura was already $14, so I ended up paying $34 for that dish. Not even for some special fish, Just plain fried white fish. The only thing I liked from this restaurant were the Golden Eye Snapper and the Akamutsu Sushi. I honestly can't recommend anything else. The ambiance of the restaurant is outdated and depressing. I felt a little crammed and there was nothing in the entire restaurant that I found unique or impressive. We sat inside, but I couldn't imagine sitting outside. Service was mediocre and the tip is automatically entered in your bill. Surely $70 is far too much for the service we received. Valet Parking is mandatory. Go somewhere else?

J
Jay Lau

Where to begin with this place. All anyone seems to say is "it's the founder of Nobu's first restaurant" which I feel is the only thing it has going for it. 🫠 The food was probably the worst food I've ever eaten. Who decided tempura avocado was ever a good idea!? Tiny shrimp tacos which couldn't have tasted more bland if they tried on the special menu that cost $11 each! All capped off by being sat in what can only be described as a freezing cold COVID tent with two heaters between the entire room. We asked to move the heater closer to our large table and were told we couldn't because other people had complained about being cold... Says it all really! Don't believe the hype (please! 🙏🏼) go to Nobu or literally any other restaurant in town and save yourself the experience.

We had made dinner reservations 2 weeks ago for a party of 4 on 5/12/23 at 6:30pm to celebrate my daughters graduation. We arrived at 6pm and the host said he would be able to seat us early however he could only offer us the sushi bar or the parking lot which they called a patio. We asked to be seated in the restaurant and he said there were no tables available inside when clearly half the restaurant was empty. We asked how long it would be to wait for a table inside and he said if he gave us a table in the restaurant, we would need to complete our meal in one hour. We asked why we were not able to get a table inside when we had reservations from 2 weeks ago and all he could say is I'm sorry, I understand and that's all I can do. He said I have other guests that have made reservations. We have never been treated so disrespectfully at any establishment. We left and had a wonderful dinner at Mastros in Beverly Hils, and enjoyed a delicious meal with respectful, professional service. Just a note to everyone who is considering going to this restaurant, they don't care or respect your business.

P

First and last time I’ll ever eat at this overrated and grossly overpriced restaurant. Horrible food. The chicken was especially bad, chewy and dry. None of us finished our food. How they manage to get it so wrong is beyond me but then you’ll just have to visit the bathrooms to realize that the place is a mess and not very hygienic. We complained to the waitress. She didn’t care one bit. Didn’t even attempt to address the issue. I suggest you give it a miss people.

D
Donna Menne

This place is very overrated. I seriously wanted to love it because it’s so hyped all the time. The atmosphere is old and dated to start. We ordered quite a few items. Salads. Rolls. Sashimi. Everything was very average. I really don’t understand the hype here. Glad I tried it but Never again. Iki Ramen is so much better. Wish I had gone there. Very disappointed

Decline and fall! Once an exceptional restaurant run by an amazing chef has declined into a fair to middling restaurant (and that’s me being more than fair). I’ve been coming to Matsuhisa for the last 20 years, but on this occasion, I am unimpressed! We arrive and are seated in a tent in the carpark. The tent had no décor, no ambience was cold, and I can only say could have been a service station for refugees’ with slightly better chairs to sit on. We asked to be seated in the main restaurant to be told we would have to wait a very long time. We decided to order starters whilst we booked another sushi place elsewhere. We ordered 2 cut rolls and popcorn shrimp which we waited over 30 minutes for. I’ve had better sushi at supermarkets and the shrimp was average, not what I’ve had the pleasure of eating over the years. I mentioned to the concierge how shocked I was to which his reply was it’s not a preference for everyone. For those people whose preference is it to sit in a tent in a carpark and pay through the roof for mediocre food, they are clearly as deluded as the chef who thinks his name can carry widespread loyalty through this obvious decline! For refence we went to KOI for the main course, where the service, food and ambience was amazing! I highly recommend KOI. I DO NOT recommend MATSUHISA.

What an immense disappointment. Having eaten at Nobu previously I was excited to try his first restaurant Matsuhisa. The experience here couldnt have been more opposite than that of Nobu. Vibe: we were seated outside in a side patio because the restaurant was completely booked for a private party on a Saturday night? The first table they placed us at was right next to the waiter station and the view was of cleaning supplies and dirty plates. We asked to be moved to another table. Still the surroundings is a picnic table on AstroTurf. The outdoor heaters were on so strong and so hot I was afraid they would cook the sushi. Thankfully they turned them off. Service: Our server could not have been more disinterested or uncaring. She was going through the motions. On four separate occasions we had food delivered to our table that wasn't ours. Right after we ordered, a server dropped off take home containers in the middle of our table which we never asked for. The tempura shrimp was soggy and limp and I asked the waitress if it was supposed to be that way or crispy. She said crispy. I said again that it was soggy. She suggested I not order it anymore!? At the end of dinner we were delivered the wrong check. Food: it was good but most of the fish was very salty and as I stated previously the tempura was soggy. While the food was good it was nowhere near worth the price paid. You expect for the cost of $200pp to have an exceptional experience in ambiance, service and food. Honestly they failed in every regard and I cannot recommend wasting your time or money here. It is obviously a management issue if they fail in every regard as they did. I'll be surprised if the restaurant management responds to this at all. I really don't think they care. This restaurant was Nobu's first and it seems largely abandoned and forgotten. Like a forgotten grandmother at a nursing home. It feels tired and dated and well beyond its expiration date. What a waste of time and money. I could have had a much more elevated experience at so many other places at 1/4 the price.

HORRIBLE! Sushi is not even sushi quality fish meat. Their fish meat is all “mushy”. High quality sushi fish are moist and umami. The restaurant is also really dirty. I think the health department needs to come check this place out. Servers also don’t have a clue about the food here, any questions are answered with let me check and get back to you.

Extremely slow service. Freezing and very loud indoors. The interior is the simplest ever. Quality of food is low. Not worth paying such prices. Disappointed. Definitely not recommending

A Complete Rip-Off – Treated Like Peasants After Spending Over $600. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I’ve dined at Matsushia multiple times and have had their $250 omakase before, so I expected their Valentine’s Day special to be something elevated. Instead, it was a complete letdown and an absolute waste of money. First, the setting—we were seated in a tented temporary structure in a parking lot. For a restaurant that prides itself on high-end dining, this felt incredibly cheap and took away from any sense of ambiance. Then came the food, which was just flat-out bad. The oysters were fishy, the fish quality was noticeably lower than their usual omakase, and the noodles were overcooked. There was absolutely nothing special about this meal—despite it being advertised as a Valentine’s Day “special,” it was clear no effort went into making it unique or memorable. Even the dessert was uninspired and cheap, like an afterthought rather than a finale to an expensive meal. The service was even worse. Our waitress never checked in on us, and when we politely voiced our concerns, she completely dismissed us. We asked to speak to the manager, but instead of even attempting to address our complaints, she charged our bill immediately. When we finally did speak to the manager, he was just as indifferent and flat-out refused to do anything. To make matters worse, we spent well over $600 on this meal and were treated like peasants. No effort was made to ensure we had a great experience, and the staff acted like they couldn’t care less about our concerns. For a restaurant of this reputation to serve inferior food at an inflated price and provide horrible service is beyond unacceptable. This was a total rip-off, and I will never be coming back. If you’re looking for a true omakase experience, save your money and go elsewhere.

I do NOT understand why people pay easily north of $500 per person for such a low quality food and services. This place definitely lost an edge in ever single way compered to before the Pandemic era. It used to be a fun place to hang out, but now it is a total disaster. Servers keep telling us the dishes that we ate last time were special menus, so they cannot make it anymore. Well, it only been two weeks since last time I visited Matsuhisa for a business meeting, and I confirmed that they have all the ingredients to make that special menu after I asked a Sushi chef at the bar instead of the servers. The servers are somehow not confident enough. The servers are not attentive enough that we always need to ask for a beverage refill throughout the dinner. Do not fooled by the Fancy Japanese Sake carafe, the cold sake portion is ridiculously small and the price is insane when you think about a $ per oz. My client from Japan and my team had had much better quality of sake in the United States. They also use the smallest Asahi beer glass for Asahi draft beer, which costs around $10. We were making fun of it that none of us have never seen this size of skinny glass even in Japan. The quality of the fish were good, but it is not exquisite. Whatever they use are commonly used at many other sushi restaurants in LA. It is not like they have their special way of importing the highest quality of fish only for themselves from Japan. I had to write this because I feel disappointed, almost betrayed sort of feeling after being a loyal customer for such a long time. This place is used to be so good, but no longer a fun place or serving an excellent food.

Omakase experience was extremely disappointing. I found myself waiting 15-20 minutes between dishes because the kitchen was “backed up”. Different tables are getting seated and ordering omakase at different times so the experience is simply inconsistent and the wait is too long. Sushi is good but I wouldn’t want to spend $200 per person again for this kind service. If you are looking for a good omakase experience at this price point, go somewhere else.

I entered the restaurant to pick up a take out order. While there I wanted to wash my hands prior to handling the food. I was met with Jay and man wearing a blue shirt and of Asian decent. He explained that the restroom and are for dining in customers. He explained that there is only one gender bathroom that the entire restaurants that seats over 150 people. I was asked to step outside, His tone was rude, demanding, and demeaning. I was also greeted by a woman who was walking her dog that was not labeled a service dog. I am a fur mama, but I do believe dog shouldn’t be allowed in an open dining area due to food safety. I wouldn’t eat here again. Jay is the man I encountered and he would benefit in additional training in customer handling and service.

Went to Matsuhisa many years ago and had the pleasure of meeting Nobu. I have dinned at many Nobu's and it is one of our favorites. This experience was just bad. Service was poor and things we did not order were delivered. At Nobu, we would have wait staff explain the dishes. Here nothing. Food was not as good either. Atmosphere was odd. Louder music. We had one patron near us throw a tantrum with a date, break dishes and storm out. For these prices, it was a big let down and disapppointment.

The restaurant was extremely crowded and the service was unprofessional. We ordered three “special” dishes, and all of them were overly salty. The fish was not fresh and the texture was far from tender, which was very disappointing given the price point. Throughout the ordering process, the staff provided no recommendations or guidance at all. Overall, the food quality did not meet our expectations and the service experience made it worse. I would not recommend this place.

How do I start this, this is such a Huge disappointment! Low quality NON Authentic Japanese food experience. Think Fusion at its lowest quality. I spent $200 for an 8 course omakase and not even ONE single item was good. First course a veggie hand roll. Really just veggies seaweed, Cucumber, carrot, avocado and sesame dressing. Nothing special. 2nd course Tuna tartar with caviar soaked in Ginger soy sauce, tuna tartar at BJ tasted the same as this... 3rd course nigiri 4 pieces (red snapper, toro, ikura, sardine) 4th- 6 pieces of Heavily sauced paperthin sashimi that is so salty, you can't tell what the fish is... first type of Paperthin sashimi has Yuzu sauce with bell peppers on it, the second paperthin sashimi has olive oil and red salt on it, the third one has oh yeah again yuzu sauce with Sriracha.... We should stop the courses right at this point....The sashimi is the worst fusion mix of overly oil, sauced, salted, sashimi I have ever had. I mean really who put oil and seasoning salt on sashimi so thin that all the sauce over powering the fish.... Believe me, the small sushi stand in the supermarkets taste better than this. And, again, one sashimi is red snapper again. 5th course-3 pieces of sashimi salad they Called it. The so call baby Artichoke that was not freshly chopped because the edges was Turing brown ... unpleasant to see and taste plus it's so hard feel like chewing on cardboard. The three piece of Sashimi with again ginger soy sauce over powering everything pieces of fish.... Everything at this point taste the same. With the repeating overpowering sauces. Next is Fried softshell crab with overpowering vinegar Bell pepper sauce. An very badly twisted/ take of the sweet and sour sauce from Chinese food... the Vinegar taste over powered everything also was super salty. Next the sizzling hot plate of super salty oily toro. This dish was so bad we send it back because it smelled and tasted so bad. I Took one bite, the salty regular soy sauce taste they used as base was so salty I couldn't take a second bite. We had to send the dish back they remade it for us... still .... Let's move on, Next was Macha Soba, soba was not so special, soy sauce based with a bit of Bitter taste because of the Matcha and raw green onions....and last two was ice cream and shaved ice. Yes, Macha flavored, Looks ok, taste really sweet... just go JP supermarket randomly buy an ice cream will taste better. I really want a refund...the after taste of the soy sizzling Toro was so fishy and bad, I threw up when I got home. And, needed to go shower to get rid of the fishy taste and smell. Nothing about this meal is worth the money. One more thing is The hot tea is hot, good! but, it was too hot for the servers to hold the cup. Therefore, they held the cup at rim, touching the rim of the cup...holding the cup at the rim where we drink from really don't feel Sanitary and professional to me at all. don't understand why they don't use a tray if it's that hot... Overall, worsts overly price + overly salted + non Japanese like Food I ever had. If u r looking to eat fresh sashimi and sushi Do Not order the omakase it's so far off of the jp Authentic style. AVOID! Be Smart. Read the one star reviews before u go... trap... money wasted and time wasted.
