Came for lunch with a few people and enjoyed the ambiance, food. Price was appropriate for proportions. Meat.was very moist even without sauce. Pulled pork sandwich was great, mac and cheese was also fantastic. Staff was very amicable. Wait time for food was 10+ minutes but well worth the wait. On street and off street parking.
We came in just before 5pm on a Friday night and were seated right away. David was great and the kitchen got out food out quickly. The house made chicharron was amazing. The pulled pork was great, the brisket was thick and tender. The macaroni and cheese (cavatapi noodles are the best,) was thick and cheesy. The pork ribs were perfectly seasoned, sauced, and smoked. Great sweet potato fries too. The portions were worth the price.
We had a great experience at Jasper’s BBQ in Big Bear, CA and a big part of that was our server, Monica. She was incredibly attentive to our table, made sure our food was just right, and checked in on us regularly without ever being intrusive. Her friendly attitude and great service really made the meal enjoyable. Excellent service like hers is what makes us want to come back. Thank you, Monica!
I must share my experience dining for lunch on the afternoon of 2/16, when my family and I were looking for a quick bite to eat before trying to beat the snowstorm heading back home to San Diego. We were seated within a few minutes and promptly served. Our lunch came out very quickly, was delicious, and service during our meal was excellent! To our great dismay, my 2 year old suddenly became ill at the table just as we were boxing up our leftovers. I was mortified but the staff here jumped into action, offering warm rags, a bag for his clothes, and even spare clothing. I am not sure of the names of your staff, but the care you provided was well beyond what’s expected! I will forever be grateful for the hospitality that was provided above and beyond for our family in a stressful moment. Thank you ❤️
Did some shopping at the boutique next-door so popped in here for a bite of lunch and enjoyed myself! Nice outdoor patio with heat lamps and cute table seating with corner bar in the interior. Cool decor on the walls. My server was Monica and she was very sweet and attentive. I started with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon then ordered the barbecue bowl with shredded chicken and opted for the spicy barbecue sauce, which was delicious. Just the right amount of sauce on the dish and at the bottom some nicely seasoned creamy mashed potatoes. A lot of shredded chicken! Wonderful flavors and I love the pickles on top! Nice touch. I ordered extra and they were so good. drink prices were very reasonable as well as the food items. Will definitely be back!
This is not a very large place. Great service even if it's busy. Adorable little bar and some local beers. Great place. I love the food. I heard a 9 year old boy say this is the best Mac and cheese in my whole 9 years. 😃 Their loaded fries are amazing and with jalapeño!! They also have outdoor seating.
I have been visiting Big Bear every month, for nearly all of 2025 and have been so disappointed in the different restaurants. Either bad food, mediocre service or both. Well, last I brought my family up on my work-cation. I decided to take them to the village to see the lights and get a hot cocoa. Instead of cocoa, we gave Jasper’s a try. It’s clean, comfortable and the service was solid. Now, most importantly, I can’t stop thinking about the spicy bbq wings! Dude, the wings are so dang good! My kids loved the chicken tenders and fries. The loaded fries with pulled chicken were a hit as an appetizer. The serving size was enough for six to get a good portion. I am looking forward to going back in December for some sweat tea, wings and maybe try a pulled pork sandwich or something. But honestly I’d be happy with just a dozen of those wings!
If I could have a death row meal, this place would be it. If you’re looking for fast service, juicy meat, and delicious flavors, this is your place! Our server was so kind and attentive. We ordered: Appetizer: - Loaded Fries 10/10 Amazing Meals: -Hot chicken sandwich 10/10 (modified and put on a pretzel bun) -Brisket 10/10 juicy and delicious -Pulled pork sandwich 10/10 Would highly recommend making this a stop on your list of places in Big Bear!
excellent barbeque spot in Big Bear. big portions. the 3 meats barbecue is he generous in meat. of you are a big eater you will be happy. smaller eater, even the 2 meats is still a lot. 3 meets for 2 is a good way to go if you are not big eaters. meat is melting. the meat on the rack of rib was melting from the bone and was juicy, no dry spot. Brisket was flavorful, and the wings great.
Good bbq place conveniently located near where we were staying. Got the 2 item combo with brisket and pulled pork because I wanted brisket and my bf wanted the latter. I ended up liking the pulled pork more because the brisket was a little thick and on the dryer side than what I'm used to at other bbq places. For the 2 sides we got Mac and cheese with salad (ranch dressing.) the Mac and cheese was good, the ranch was a bit but noticeably watered down. Food was decent for quick and easy take out. We phoned in our order for pick up. Portions of meat are pretty huge. We couldnt finish and had the leftover meat with mac and cheese for another meal, it was a lot for just 2 people!
We came to this place on the recommendation of the hotel hostess. The food is delicious!, especially the brisket sandwich, which is tender and juicy. We ate there three times during our stay. The chicken tenders were a hit with the kids. They have hot chocolate and a good selection of beers and other drinks. I'm not giving it five stars because the host is quite disorganized and the women's restroom was very dirty. I hope they address those issues.
It's a. Great place too eat if you have a small group. The place is a little small limited seating inside , also some seating outside the restaurant. Good is great!! Service was ok. Overall great place to get a bite to eat when you're craving bbq
I'm thoroughly enjoying my meal here! The food is expertly cooked, and the temperature is just right. The cornbread, baked beans, and ribs are all delicious. This diner has a lovely atmosphere, perfect for a casual dinner with friends. The music is fantastic, and it feels like a scene from a movie!
The fries were really good. I had the ribs and they were cooked really well. They didn't have any flavor though. The coleslaw was bland too. I probably should have gotten the spicy chicken sandwich.
We had heard a lot about Jasper’s Restaurant especially their pork ribs. After searching and comparing many places, everyone recommended Jasper’s, so we decided to try it. we went on a Monday the pork ribs were very dry and didn’t taste fresh at all. Maybe it was because of the day, but the experience was a little disappointing so if you plan to visit, I’d suggest checking which days they serve the freshest ribs before going.
One of the worst experiences at a restaurant I’ve had in a very very long time. Monica was supposed to be our waitress but came to our table maaaaybe twice the entire time and we actually were helped by the busboy more than any waitress or waiter in there. She dint seat us with menus or give us drinks for over 15-20 mins of us being there. She was so rude and the two interactions we did have were less than desirable. What happened was my friend had ordered a sandwich and it came out as a bowl. Whe we asked about switching Monica rolled her eyes, immediately getting snappy, and looked at me (as if I was supposed to back her up on her being right which made me super uncomfortable given we weren’t being a problem) then grabbed the plate from my friend and said that she had actually gotten the order right and that my friend was wrong. Then went on to ignore our Table for the entire remainder of our Meal. The nasty demeanor when we were asking politely to fix a meal was actually so crazy. And then after we were finally walking out Monica and the other servers were sitting in the open kitchen area near the exit and was loudly talking badly about our table. The bathrooms were flooding and they were still allowing patrons through the wet hallway. I’m not kidding the most unfriendly and rude waiters and waitresses that I’ve ever had and the burger was rank. Honestly a slop pit of a restaurant. 0/10
Extremely disappointing and uncomfortable experience. There is a sign clearly posted in the restaurant stating “No parties over 10” (I have attached a photo of the sign). We were 9 people total, made up of three separate families, and were completely fine with being seated at multiple tables. Despite this, we were refused service altogether simply because we initially asked if we could sit together. Even after immediately agreeing to split up, the staff refused to accommodate us in any way. There was no explanation, no attempt to help, just a flat refusal. What made the situation worse was the staff’s attitude. The waiter was dismissive and unprofessional, and at one point turned away mid-conversation, making it very clear we were not welcome. No alternatives were offered, and we were treated with unnecessary coldness and disrespect. This was not about group size or policy; it was about how we were treated. The experience felt unfair and uncomfortable, and left all of us shocked and embarrassed. The treatment felt targeted and deeply unwelcoming.
Very disappointing experience after 3+ years as customers. We’ve been loyal customers for over three years and never had an issue until this visit. We waited 45+ minutes to be seated while larger groups were seated before my family of four and our baby. Once seated, we waited about 20 minutes just for someone to take our order. We asked for service four times and were ignored. A table that arrived after us was helped first. When my wife complained, a waiter told her not to exaggerate and later mocked her with coworkers. We felt discriminated against, especially since the waiter helped every other table except ours. This was extremely disappointing, especially in such a tourist area. Food was mediocre: brisket poorly sliced, ribs under-seasoned, and the only good item was the mac and cheese. We will not be returning, and I recommend that Spanish-only–speaking Mexican families choose another restaurant.
I genuinely don’t understand how this place has so many glowing reviews which feel completely disconnected from reality. Maybe they impress tourists who don’t know better, maybe they're paid reviews, but either way my experience was flat-out awful. The so-called “beer battered” fries tasted like something straight out of a frozen kids’ meal. The pulled chicken should’ve been called “BBQ chunk chicken” — dry, bland, and oddly textured. And the “smashed burger” was the biggest disappointment of all: a thick, flavorless patty with a strange aftertaste and zero barbecue flavor. Calling it a smashed burger feels like false advertising. My group took only a few bites of each dish before giving up completely. I’ve seen people describe this place as their “death row meal.” I’d rather be on death row than eat here again. Save yourself the disappointment and go literally anywhere else. The best part of my meal was deciding not to finish my our food after two bites.
