I kicked my shoes off under the table. I love coming here because they make you feel at home. I love the good customer service and I even bought my spiritual Father and hus wife who is my best friend. They truly enjoyed the service and the meal. They are coming back. So come on down and get you a good cook home meal
Ordered a blackberry cobbler for my bride’s bday and it was superb! Audrey and staff greeted me at the door with a smile. Good home-style cooking!
I called the restaurant and Ms. Audrey answered the telephone. I explained that I was visiting from Atlanta and the restaurant that I was going to eat at was closed. Someone in Hoover told me about her restaurant and I was calling to make sure they were open. We got to the restaurant and the atmosphere was pretty cool and we had the restaurant to ourselves. The food was freshly cooked and it was delicious 😋. Ms. Audrey was so nice and welcoming, plus to told us to come back when we are visiting Birmingham in the future.
Fantastic menu, hospitable service and delicious food. Audrey's was on my list to try for almost a year and I finally made it there. The decor is inviting and the people are as warm as a visit to my favorite Auntie's house. Can't wait to try more of the menu during my next visit.
Searching for Black Owned restaurants and happened upon this diamond. My 3 year old granddaughter and I ordered Shrimp & Grits, Cajun corn and sweet potatoes souffle. Hands down, the shrimp and grits were the best I've ever eaten. The Cajun corn was spicy and good. The sweet potato souffle was better than any dessert I could have ordered. I Will definitely be coming back and telling others. Side note: I would enjoy hearing gospel or jazz while dinning...music has a way of elevating the experience
I was intrigued by a posting that popped up on my phone early on a Saturday morning. The pictures of the food looked so good. I awakened my son, and we got dressed. And set the GPS for Audrey's! It did not disappoint! We ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was fried perfectly, and those waffles were as well. Not hard and dry as they can sometimes be. I took a picture and sent it to my husband, who placed an order to go. He ordered something unique; the waffle made from grits accompanied with shrmp. A new take on shrimp and grits. He said it was scrumptious. Will definitely try it again. Highly recommended!
This place is awesome. My boyfriend and I are in town for work and decided to try one of the local restaurants. Our waitress sat down at the table next to us and asked about our work, told us how she got into the restaurant business. It felt so nice to have an experience eating somewhere that feels personal.
I stopped by Audrey's a couple of weeks ago. I've been looking for new places in my area to eat. The grit waffle was amazing. I will most definitely be back.
My rating is based not by comparison but on my expectations, which were greatly exceeded. I ordered the pan grilled salmon fillet with macaroni and cheese and a mixed green salad. Everything was prepared perfectly. The salmon was crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. The macaroni was just right and the mixed salad had a nice variety of vegetables. The service was friendly and efficient. It was 96 degrees outside and refreshingly cool inside.
We took my stepdaughter to dinner after she arrived off the train from North Carolina. The food was superb, we arrived late, just one hour before closing but it was worth the wait. Audrey came to greet each table, that was quite impressive for an owner to do. Will definitely go again this weekend for Mother's Day.
First time coming here. Will be coming again! Got the oxtails. I hope everyone that works at this restaurant is okay because man, there was a lot of SOUL poured into those oxtails. I sopped up the oxtail juices with my roll! I wanted to keep the bones for some kind of ritual for later on, however my lady would not let me keep them. I also had the squash casserole and fried okra. The squash casserole also had a lot of SOUL in it and was extremely tasty. Perfect breading on the okra and you could tell the okra was nice and fresh. Perfectly cooked. My lady had the salmon and she wouldn't stop bothering me about it while I was trying to finish my oxtails. "This salmon is so good, do you want a bite? It is so tasty", she kept saying. Meanwhile, I am focused on these oxtails, licking the bones and stacking them up in my to go box thinking about what I can do with these bones later! She had the same experience as I did with the squash casserole. She loved it. She also indulged in the Mac N Cheese. She seemed to be fascinated with the texture of it. Thank you for the extremely excellent Lunch. We will be by again soon!
The owner was very kind. The food was good. I went looking for collard greens. I was hoping for the serving line, but it is only offered on Sundays. I went on a weekday, so it took time for them to cook the food to order, but it was good.
This place is a little hidden Gem in Titusville. I promise my husband and I were blown away as soon as we walked through the door. THIS PLACE IS NICE....🤯🥳. I had the shrimp and grits (no disrespect it was not the greatest, YET it was close enough and left me satisfied). My husband had grilled salmon, broccoli, and Mac n' cheese. I was jealous of his food; the salmon 😋 was cooked with love, wrapped in history, and seasoned to perfection 🥰. There was no one else there but us (we arrived 1 hour before they closed), yet the service made us feel like royalty. This is an amazing family restaurant that serves delicious southern cooking. If anyone asks me about a place to get delicious soul food, THIS HERE IS THE SPOT. Please give this place a try. You will not be disappointed ! At some point, I plan on being able to say I've tried everything on the menu.
The food was good. Unfortunately!! They were not really prepared for that many people at one time. I know they probably really needed the business. However if 50 plus people show up at 5:30 p.m. and I'm due to close at 6:30 p.m. I really would have pointed them in a different direction or I would have offered one particular main dish and two sides. For example something easy like chicken or fish with fries and a salad or something really easy. I have the pork chop and the baked beans they were really good. Unfortunately I forgot my plate and my sippy cup on the table trying to Corral all the kids out of the restaurant. But overall the food was great and the service was good too.
First time eating here. Got there a few mins after opening time. All The vegetables where under cooked and under seasoned . I wanted fried chicken breast and thigh, was told they only fry the wings and other can be baked. The fried chicken wings and cornbread was good.Oxtails still had cooking wine flavor; oxtails could of cooked a little longer.Took over an hour to receive order was told it would take about 15 Minutes. It’s was a Sunday and they had no cornbread dressing on the menu. Spent little over $70 for 3 people.
We tried to do something different this year and have our thanksgiving meal catered!! My mom pre-ordered our Thanksgiving meal, 2 weeks in advance, and was supposed to pick up the food 11/27. Audrey called her and said she was only “working on the pie” and that if she picked up the next day 11/28 Thanksgiving morning they would fry the turkey that morning. She went to pick up the food yesterday morning (Thanksgiving) and the only thing ready was the turkey. They told her to come back at 12:30, she came back and still had to wait over an hour and they didn’t include the collard greens that she pre-ordered. My mom gets back to the house after 2:30pm and the macaroni, dressing and sweet potatoes has to be cooked!! 🤯😩😩😩😩 The only thing that was good was the macaroni. The rest of the food was subpar especially for the price. The sweet potatoes tasted like butterscotch 🥴, the dark meat on the turkey tasted like soy sauce. We spent over $300 for this meal and they played in our face for thanksgiving. Never again!! Food is too expensive to mess over people’s money and take orders that you can’t handle.
You won't get another DIME from our family! Food was ordered weeks ago. Was supposed to ready for pickup yesterday. Took hours for the order to be ready for pickup today. Yall, the Mac and cheese was RAW! The dressing was RAW! They blatantly sober sold EVERYTHING! Ordered collard greens, no collard greens available! This had to have been some kind of scam / money grab! How can you justify a $300 bill for a fully cooked Thanksgiving meal for an entire family and you didn't have items that were ordered weeks ago like collard greens? You didn't COOK the Mac& cheese? You didn't COOK the dressing? Imagine if we were in a situation where we weren't able to cook the food ourselves? This is the most ridiculous display of "running a business" I've ever seen. These people have stolen our money and ruined our holiday! 3 generations under one roof trying to celebrate life and family and it was ruined because these people can't conduct proper business. In conclusion, don't buy food from these people. I wouldn't recommend buying a cold soda from this pathetic excuse of a restaurant.
Wait was too long and 3 different tables of people had been sitting in there more than 30 minutes for food. Had to keep asking the waitress to move some cups that were left on the table before us. They never whipped the tables down . Me and my family left. Won’t be back . Food should have already been cooked. Thought it was buffet style according to the pictures. Need more workers
Y'all stop lying about this place it's hidden in the hood...The service was slow..The macaroni was completely watery..The herb roasted chicken was bland they had no gravy...The greens taste like dirt they they haven't even been cleaned..the cornbread was dry..The pork chop was not seasoned and gummy they poured a large amount of parsley over the rice. The only thing was good was the Sweet Tea...I give this place a 1/10 being the Sweet Tea was good that's the 1..Don't ever spend your money, here this is the worst $40 dollars I've ever spent. My child could have done better than this. ,
