Omg thiw place is amazing!!! The food is hot and fresh and delicious! It's heaven in a burger! I got the patty melt and hubby got the Gerald attack (I think that's what it was called). I had a bite of his and both of ours were SPOT ON!!! Never getting a burger from anywhere else now knowing this place exists lol. I was only able to eat half of mine but don't let that fool you... my mouth wanted more but the sandwiches be thick lol.

What a unique burger joint! Been wanting to try this place for a while, and finally made it for lunch on a late summer Saturday. Wasn't jam packed, but they were doing a good business. Inside there is a single booth and two long counters. Plentiful tables, more than half of which are covered, outside, though! Staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful, and food was ready quickly. Be advised, the menu for Lag's is a bit of a mystery at any given time. The online ordering through their website doesn't match the printed menus on site, there are clearly "hidden" items or old items not on the current menu that are still available. They also do not reliably list what items are out of stock. Be prepared to be flexible when ordering. We got a Lag's burger w/ fries, a chicken burger w/ tots, a Swiss Roll shake, and a Thin Mint shake. They mixed up which sides went with which sandwich, but that was only a minor inconvenience. The burger was fantastic, very cheesy and full of flavor. The fried chicken was clearly hand-done, thick and fried well. Fries were great shoestring variety. Tots were a bit salty as well as a little loose and easily came apart, but we much prefer that to how so many other places overfry them. Both shakes were great and tasted like their namesakes (we're pretty sure actual Swiss Rolls were blended into that one), though not worth $9 in our opinion. Everything else, though, was quite reasonably priced, made fresh, and served piping hot. Can't wait to go back and try their breakfast offerings!

I always enjoy finding one of those "hole in the wall" gems like Lag's. It has one booth and bar style seating inside, but it have a nice outdoor seating area. I got the Deluxe Burger and to say I enjoyed it would be an understatement, the patty was fresh, hand made, and full of flavor. My wife got the Patty Melt and I didn't hear anything from her until she was finished, so obviously she enjoyed it. We got a Bologna Sandwich to go for mom, and she said it was one of the best she has had in a very long time. Definetly will be going back.

Our 4-year old granddaughter wanted us to take her to “the little blue restaurant where you can eat inside or outside” for pancakes and bacon. She chowed down and so did we. I had a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit sandwich. Fresh, flaky. Excellent. My husband helped with her 3 pancakes and bacon (although she ate a very good amount of it). Great, cute place. Nice folks.

First time in Lags and it was worth the stop downtown! The fluffiest biscuit I’ve ever had with perfectly cooked conecuh sausage and tasty gravy. Smaller than the smallest Waffle House you’ve ever been to but cleaner, cozier, quick, friendly and tastier than some of the biggest chain breakfast restaurants in Birmingham! Make a stop by for a great flat top cooked experience!

This tiny and hip neighborhood eatery hits the spot with classics like patty melts, burgers, milk shakes, and tater tots. There is only a handful of inside seats, but they have a large and pleasant back patio with umbrellas that provide ample shade. This place isn’t cheap- a burger and tots costs $20- but it is satisfying.

We came for breakfast- PSA -get here before 10 if you want gravy. Changed to having a burger. The lags and the deluxe were both amazing. Best burger I have had in a long while. Saw the pastrami sandwich go out and it looks amazing. Will definitely return!!!! Didn’t see the outside seating till after which would be nice as well.

Our double cheeseburger and our Reubin sandwiches, where amazing with fries and chocolate milkshake, topped everything off for a perfect meal. I'll be back to probably breakfast.
