The food was gorgeous, we had prawns for starter and definitely the most flavour prawns I have ever tasted. The service was quick and friendly. Overall really happy with everything
Sat outside in the sunshine and it instantly set the tone for an excellent experience. I was absolutely blown away by the food — both the presentation and the flavours were exceptional. Honestly, it was so good I was only short of licking the plate! Incredible value too — 2 courses for €32, and every bite was worth it. I also treated myself to a beautifully made mojito, and it was the perfect touch. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic service, and an experience I’ll definitely be returning for. A hidden gem!
This is an amazing little restaurant. The atmosphere and the vibes it gives are so nice for a romantic date. From start to finish the staff were so friendly and nuthen was too much for them. The service was fantastic. The food was top hit. The dishes were cooked to order, and the presentation was fabulous. There was music on at the time, and it was just a guy playing the guitar singing every type of song but very mellow and just nice. Just really finished off the ambience of the setting. We were sitting upstairs, and when we finished our meal, we were offered a table downstairs to listen to the music and have a cocktail, which again was so good. Would recommend this 5 star.
8A is the jewel in the crown of the many Monkstown restaurants because its family owned and ran . Donal always has a warm welcome for his guests and the food is to die for, we highly recommend the Bruschetta, fish of the day and Banoffi pie we return many times over the years. It’s also has a great room upstairs for groups of up to 50 for family events as well as live music . In the summer a great place to sit outside and admire the best view in Monkstown .
I had a lovely early dinner at 8A Brasserie and it was such a well-spent evening. I ordered from the Early Dinner menu and went with the Bruschetta, Roasted Cauliflower and fries, paired with a refreshing cider. Everything was full of flavor and beautifully presented. For dessert, I enjoyed their homemade cheesecake with a regular tea — the perfect sweet ending. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the service was excellent, and the company made it all the more special. Lots of laughter, great food, and a beautiful setting — I’ll definitely be back!
My partner and I come to this place quite regularly for brunch and lunch. It is by far our favourite place to eat. From the food to the service, it is without a doubt the best place to go if you are ever looking to just sit back, relax and enjoy a meal. It is fairly priced, delicious food, always served to the highest standard. My favourite item on the brunch menu is the French toast and his is the prawn scampi. If you are looking for a tasty brunch in the Monkstown/Dun Laoghaire area, I would 100% recommend and will continue to dine here for the foreseeable ♡
I was very impressed at this place. Hidden gem in monkstown. Really lovely staff - professional and very friendly. Service was excellent. Food was 10/10. Prawns were some of the nicest I've ever had. Will certainly be back to try the brunch menu.
One of the best places I've ever been to! The staff are beyond lovely, the service was impeccable and the food was divine! I ate my pork belly so slowly to truly savour the amazing flavour. My parents go here all the time and I'm very impressed. (From Rebecca, Debbie and Peter Holmes)
This is one of the best places I've been recently. Really good food and great customer service. If I will be around there again will visit again.
Absolutely top. Excellent food, great service, very nice venue. I will be back for sure. Highly recommended.
Beautiful restaurant. Was there last night for my aunt's 50th birthday and it was lovely. Tasty food, beautiful craft cider and the service was fab. The staff were lovely and so accommodating. Myself and my partner will definitely visit again. Deserves 5 stars.
We came as a group booking (22+ mix of kids and adults) and we couldn’t have been better taken care of. From the ability to pre order and tailor the set menu, to the accommodating nature for exact numbers being confirmed quite late in the day. And of course, most importantly, the food was excellent. Every person was happy, which is hard to do with a large group, and the standard was very high. Really broad variety to choose from on the set menu and same for the kids menu which kept small people very happy. Lots of folks first time there who said they would be back soon.
Is there a better way to begin the weekend than a DELICIOUS fry up?!? The restaurant was VERY busy at the weekend - please ensure you make a reservation to avoid disappointment! We managed to get a spot on Saturday at around 1pm and how glad am I that we did!!! There were a good selection of options for brunch including pancakes, poached eggs and fish and chip - but of course I went for the fry up! The bacon was really stand out! Very salty, crispy and delicious! Honestly it was a really fantastic meal. We also got a couple of drinks and the berry + banana smoothie was REALLY delicious - it put my orange juice to shame (which was also lovely - just that the smoothie was something else!) There is seating outside here with outdoor heaters and they also managed to fill up before we left. I'm already thinking about my next fry up!!!
Great restaurant. Lovely food and fantastic service. Defo be back again. 10/10
Went there for Valentine’s Day dinner and I loved it. The staff is friendly and competent always at your disposal. Paid about €80 which is not expensive at all including main courses, dessert and drinks.
Early bird salmon and sirloin steak specials nicely served, tasted delicious! Goose liver and goat cheese appetizers were also perfect. Recommended
The chicken wings was very delicious 😋
They have one of the best seafood chowder soups in Dublin! The food and service were so good.
We sat outside in the sunshine, the waitress was friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. I wish the portions were bigger but the taste and great service made the experience great. It's a quiet location and the menu is affordable. Highly recommend and I will be back.
Nice food and service. Prices are reasonable too. Will definitely go back again.
Service was so good and quick, food was amazing scampi and the brownies are sooo yumm Overall 5 ⭐️experience , highly recommend ❤️
Great menu and service. Very quiet at brunch time on Saturday, so you can enjoy food and conversation. Definitely coming back.
Delicious food, cozy interior and super sweet staff. I’ll definitely come back
Love this restaurant. Every time we visit we are made to feel so welcome and the food is always 100% and the staff are so professional and look after us so well
A very tasty and refined dining experience, portion size is slightly on the small size for the price, but I'd definitely return, staff were friendly and attentive. Go for the brownie for pudding!!
The service is very good and fast, the food is delicious and have good portions and the view of the church in the outdoor area make it very relaxing, I really liked this restaurant
8a is a great restaurant. Consistently great. Today I turned up with 7 people for a Mothers Day lunch and I had made booking for the wrong day. They found us a table in what is probably one of the busiest days of the year for restaurants. We had super food and brilliant service. It's my favourite restaurant ❤️
Had brunch there today. Staff were lively, friendly and helpful. We sat outside but asked to move inside as it was too hot!! Staff were do obliging. The food was delicious , plentiful and reasonably priced. First time having brunch there. We will definitely return.
Had dinner here this evening and it was a lovely experience from start to finish. The food was very good and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely be back.
We had an amazing experience at 8A brasserie, from the fantastic food to the friendly staff that went above and beyond we loved every minute of our evening. The food and drinks were superb, and the ambience was perfect. I couldn’t recommend the restaurant more. We’ll be back.
My family of four adults had lunch there today. U could feel the good atmosphere from time we walked into it. Four different meals . all fabulous nothing was a problem. Food so fresh/tasty. Will b back soon. Thank u.
Great place! Wonderful service and food. Really recommend :)
I enjoyed a wonderful evening here with friendly and attentive service and excellent food.
Lovely decor, friendly and capable staff. Great coffee, brunch was delicious.
Had dinner with my wife last week, food was delicious ( prawns followed by feather blade) Finished off with apple crumble and coffee.Staff were very friendly and polite. Nice guitarist for good measure.
We have been to 8a Brasserie on several occasions, latest being a week ago for my daughter’s 2nd birthday. There were 10 of us in total and we asked for a table in a private section upstairs which we got. My toddler and her 2 cousins were running around playing with balloons and we just got friendly smiles from the staff. Our waiter, Michael, was very attentive and made sure we have everything we need. I think we spent there good 3 hours and nobody was rushing us to wrap it up. Great experience overall, especially for celebrating a special occasion.
8A Brasserie has been one of my favorite restaurants for years now! Donal and the team always provide such warm, attentive service, making every visit special. The chefs recently outdid themselves with an absolutely top-notch dinner, and I just had to share this review. Highly recommend!
First time to visit this evening it was amazing in every way Food was beautiful best we have had in a long time
I have visited 8a a number of times, both for lunch and for dinner. Food is consistently good - I have ordered both meat and fish form the menu and enjoyed it all. The slow braised feather blade is worth the visit ..... mind you the pork belly is amazing too! Staff are always very friendly and keen to provide a great service. I think that for the quality of food and service it is very fairly priced so we will certainly be back in the near future.
Beautiful atmosphere in this restaurant food is fantastic and delicious, the service was amazing very friendly staff from moment stepped in had a lovely evening
Had a delicious meal during the week and found the staff particularly friendly and helpful. Will return.
Rarely take the time to leave reviews but this place delivers every time. Bruschetta is out of this world and the food in general is just so good as is the view, vibe, service and ambience! I would say they are kid and dog friendly too but really they’re just friendly in general! Very welcoming place whatever the opposite of ‘stuffy’ that’s what they are 🥰
5 stars for 8a. This place hits the spot when it comes to brasserie style food. A menu to suit all tastes with a nice selection of seafood befitting its location close to the sea. Solid wine menu as well. Well worth trying this restaurant if you’re in the area or live close by. Why doesn’t Google have an 8 star option for 8a?
Good meal/snack options & Fair prices. A specific waiter was very dismissive and disrespectful however that does not change the fact that 8A brasserie is a good choice for a sunny day outdoor lunch/snack or indoor dinner.
Had a really good time here. Day was super hot, and me and my wife were looking for a place with outdoor sitting to have some light bite and a drink. This place did not disappoint. Was here for lunch, and at first the menu didn't look too good as we both found there was too little options for a lite bite. However, what we eventually ended up settling on was very good and just what we were looking for. I had the prawn scampi and my wife the open sandwich steak. Both very good, and very lite in size. I added the sweet potatoes to mine, which was also really good. We each had a nice glass of Montepulciano, recommendation of the waiter, which turned out to be a great choice. Sweet and light. The waiter was friendly, provided a great service, and overall just a nice fella. If you're looking for a place to sit down and chill for an hour or so while having a nice wine and some lite bite in the Monkstown area, I really recommend this place. It can be quite packed on the summer months though, so you could be waiting a bit for a table (aí least if you want to sit outdoors).
Place was very nice, food quality was superb. Very expensive though. Each of us got a drink and a main course plus a few starters and we spent above 130 euros.
Great food, although portions are a little small. Great atmosphere too.
Cosy restaurant with relaxed athomsphere, great quality on meals & served in small pieces. The desserts are really good as well as the staff attendance
Went in on a warm sunny day. Was promptly sat down. Ordered the seafood chowder and pork belly. Chowder was hot but very good. Pork belly was small but ok. Did not like the mashed potatoes. Not sure why so many more upscale restaurants feel the need to put shallots/green onions in their mashed potatoes, but I wish they'd stop. Other than that, was a nice place to eat that provided a nice respite from the heat and sun outside.
Loved the food here. I had a chowder and chicken supreme. The chowder was not the best I ever had, but still very nice. The chicken supreme was a pleasant surprise, it tasted amazing. Service was meh, the waitress was a bit rude. The interior is a bit dated, nothing special. The garden outside is nice when there's a lot of sun. Overall, if you're in Monkstown and you're hungry, you won't make a mistake by eating here, but it won't blow your mind. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. I'd say the prices are high for what it is.
