A great place to stop in for a sandwich or burger. Full bar, original mixed drinks and a good beer selection. The quality of the food was amazing. My wife had a Ruben, I had the Blaze of Glory burger. Both were excellent. There was also a lavender festival, so my wife had lavender sweet tea and my daughter had lavender lemonade. They loved them. We arrived after 2:30, they close at 3 on Sundays, but they were friendly and patient. They kept greeting customers with a smile all the way to 3. We ate at a relaxed pace and nobody felt rushed. The music was good too. Will be back again.
This place is definitely a treat anytime I happen through Blanco. Part of the town square. It can be lively on weekend evenings as there are musicians playing. High quality ingredients that are well paired. Cant really go wrong in anything chosen. They had $5 Mimosas on special at last visit. Great choice. Snickerdoodle cookie was great. I love the Blueberry Maine soda.
So great! Redbud is always the perfect stop between San Antonio and Horseshoe Bay. Everything we have eaten here is fresh and delicious. Plenty to fill you up for breakfast, lunch or traveling snack. The staff is super friendly. Thank you, Redbud, for your excellence!
Great food, the people were wonderful as was the ambiance.
Was driving through and decided to stop by, now I’m sad there’s not one close to us. 1000/10, the food was delicious, staff was some of the best I’ve ever encountered and I think the desserts were the best part! Hope we find another reason to come through because this was one of the best little cafes we ever stopped at!
I barely order a hamburger cuz I'm usually very disappointed. I ordered the Swiss mushroom burger and it was fantastic even the gluten-free the bun was great.
Redbud Cafe is just the perfect Friday night dinner place. Great food. Great beer selection. And even better Crew. This time, dinner with Santa nearby as the band sets up. We had potato soup and French Dip. Also chicken salad sandwich. The bacon Mac&Cheese .... 5 star! And Sydney made me a perfect flight of porter/stout beers.
I’m slightly obsessed with the Redbud Cafe. This was our first time visiting and we were so impressed. The staff is absolutely lovely. Every person was so kind and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The food and drink were sooooo delicious. I had the hot portabello mushroom sandwich. The flavors were out of this world! Also, do yourself a favor and try the lavender iced tea and lemonade! I mixed them and couldn’t get enough!!!! We’re definitely coming back to this quaint little staple in Blanco.
What a great find in Blanco! The food was excellent and the service was even better. Do yourself a favor and stop here next time you’re in Blanco.
Pleasantly surprised! I was shopping next door and got hungry, lucky me, the "Western dip" was delicious and hit the spot. The restaurant is clean, decorated for the holidays, and music at the right volume. Most of all, I appreciated the welcoming sweet service from the young lady (Estrella?) at the counter. Glad I stopped in!
Fair priced, good beer selections and they seem to love pushing Lavender Margaritas 🤷🏻♂️
This place is magical..you walk in and your back in time..old wooden floors and all the ambience of a super fresh deli..I had a piece of Quiche that was best I have ever had and a bowl of a green chili soup with loads of meat and tender potatoes. On the walls are local artist works..some great bluebonnet works! Next door is a cute boutique with loads of fiesta tops and dresses and the cutest items.. I fell in love with these unique shopping bags or even a gift bag that some artist has made them out of the oilcloth table cloths from the restaurant..they are bright and colorful..all different florals and stripes..some were double lined for extra strength and some single sheet of oil cloth. The sunflowers were my pick. And I found a fiesta blouse with tons of floral embroidery all hand done on a Double Knit fabric!! Can we say comfort after too many tacos!! First ones I have seen! Be sure to eat and plan to meander throughout this little gem of a store!
Busy at lunch...the table they finally sat us at was open, clean, and ready for at least 15 minutes. Other customers in line asked about it and were told they were too busy to seat us. After they sat us is was 10 minutes before we saw a waitress. She asked us what we wanted....uh menus...oh so 5 minutes later she came back w menus. It was a few minutes before we got our drinks. Food came out about 10 minutes after we ordereded. They were very busy...but never got asked if we wanted refills...or dessert and they are known for their pies. Our food was delicious. We were traveling. If we ever get that way again, we'll make sure it isn't breakfast, lunch, or dinner but at an off time.
We had a lovely Sunday brunch on the front porch. Great for people watching. The food was delicious - the service friendly and excellent. The cafe also features a large gift shop so fun to look around. Lots of parking for our RV right across the street in front of the town centre. Walking to lots of antique stores. Highly recommend.
Always love this place. Great atmosphere. The staff is very helpful and polite/engaging. Thursday nights are fun with trivia, and the live music on the weekends is a fun draw. I always enjoy their chicken salad sandwich and the mushroom Swiss burger that they recently added to the menu is the bomb. my husband almost always gets the French dip sandwich and he loves it too. Oh... and don't forget to mention military service because they give you a complimentary cookie. There's a cute little boutique next door, and many weekends there is some farmers market or festival in town to browse too.
Great place, staff was wonderful. Food was fun and very tasty. Try the French dip sandwich.
Want a great burger then this is the place! Stopped in Blanco on my way home from San Antonio. Asked a local what they recommend and they said get a Blanco Burger and it didn’t disappoint. Also had a Crispy Business beer to go with it, very refreshing. Live music was a bit too loud to sit inside so I’m thankful the temperature outside is perfect! Outside the music was relaxing in the background.
Great food! We make a point to stop here for a meal whenever we are on 281 in Blanco over the past 5 years or more. If we go during peak times we know that there will be a line & still choose to go because it’s that good! The Blazing Glory hamburger on a jalapeño bun is so GOOD! (Gluten Free bread is an option and it is actually good!)
Cute, cool little place in Blanco, Texas. Great sandwiches and salads…alcoholic beverages too. Walk up counter to order food and drinks. They also have yummy cookies and other baked goods treats. Also, they have trivia nights and live music sometimes. We won two rounds of trivia and ended up with a really nice Redbud Cafe gift card.
The food was delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. Loved the small town atmosphere and the live music!
Great food, great beer, sackfuls of atmosphere The Redbud Cafe is one of those local places that draw people from miles around. Boasting an excellent selection of soups, salads, and sandwiches, as well as a wide range of craft beers, makes it an ideal place to stop for lunch or an early dinner. There's also a good selection of desserts, containing particularly excellent cookies. Additionally, the cafe is a great live music venue at weekends, which always makes a great accompaniment to a beer or two.
Great cafe right in the middle of Blanco. The food was delicious. Drink options are plentiful. Love that they have some serious coffee options as well. The live music brought it all together for a great time
“A Hidden Gem in Blanco: Redbud Cafe” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Redbud Cafe in Blanco, TX, is truly a treasure that I’m so grateful to have discovered. This charming spot combines a warm, welcoming atmosphere with incredible food and an experience that feels like a little slice of heaven. From the moment you walk in, you’re met with friendly smiles and a cozy vibe that instantly makes you feel at home. The menu is filled with fresh, flavorful dishes that highlight local ingredients, and every bite is a reminder of the care and passion that go into their offerings. What truly sets Redbud Cafe apart is its connection to the local community and its laid-back, small-town charm. Whether you’re enjoying a quiet meal, catching live music, or sipping on a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, it’s the kind of place where time slows down, and you can just relax and savor the moment. I’m so thankful for this hidden gem and can’t wait to return. If you’re passing through Blanco—or even if you’re not—make sure to stop by Redbud Cafe. You’ll leave with a full belly and a full heart.
We took a drive to Blanco, TX for lunch, which is about 35-40 minutes from home. We ended up at a charming eatery that truly captures the essence of country living. It’s a simple, authentic Texas spot with a warm atmosphere. While the food was good, it didn’t quite reach the level of greatness I had hoped for. I tried the Philly cheesesteak, which didn’t compare to the original in Philly, PA, but I was curious to give it a shot. It was priced at around $16, which was a bit surprising, but I guess food prices have risen everywhere. The others in our group ordered burgers, and those were generous in size and tasty. One notable aspect was the absence of fries or chips on the menu. Instead, they offered sides like home fries with is more like breakfast potatoes, which felt a bit mismatched with a burger. So, we ended up spending close to $16 for a burger without the traditional side of fries or chips. While it was a bit disappointing, I tried to look at the bright side: at least I didn’t overindulge on carbs! Overall, I would consider dining there again, but wow—$16 burgers and a Philly cheesesteak! It certainly gives you something to think about.
Best local cafe in Blanco! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu but you definitely need to try the Lavender Margarita with the tacos!
I expected a tourist trap. Nope. I’d categorize it as a deli with a bakery. Comfortable, smooth serving process. Thank you!!
Enjoyed this place today. This is my second time here. Took my laptop to work a bit and had key lime pie with coffee. The pie was super delicious. The place gets pretty busy. The staff is friendly and just a cool spot. What I really want to acknowledge that I think is such a cool concept, you can scan their QR code and order from the table. The ordering process recognizes the table your at and you can pay right there and then or open a tab. As I came in and saw these people in line I went straight to a table and placed my order in less than 5 min. Super simple and easy. Also this place has dessert galore and interesting cocktails. Give it a try. Hopefully your experience is as good as mine.
The burgers were so yummy...on a jalapeno bun, kicking it up a notch. The sandwiches are made on homemade bread...and the lemonade, freshly squeezed. I took one for the road. Desserts were phenomenal...we got the coconut macaroons and a chocolate toffee decadence cookie...so big you can share them. This great restaurant is located on the plaza square of Blanco,TX and has an inside gift shop they share with the Bierger boutique which has Guatemalan accessories and Hill Country lavender items for sale.
Located on the charming square of Blanco, this spot is a gem for food lovers and weather nerds. If you’re in a hurry, better go somewhere else, but the food is worth waiting for and I amuse myself observing the “rainfall wall” with monthly totals dating back to 1900. Today I had the Blanco burger for the first time and enjoyed the slight heat of the poblanos, juicy 1/2 lb patty, and the soft jalapeño bun. Hubby had the Rueben with pastrami (you can choose turkey also) and loved the marble rye, ooey gooey cheese, and the tasty dressing. I’ve tried many of their offerings and the only one I didn’t care for was the chicken salad (too much onion!). Everything else is great!
Love this quaint & casual restaurant with a local Texas feel in the heart of the beautiful small town of Blanco. Apparently it’s a busy and popular restaurant judging by the amount of people there. And why wouldn’t they be popular? They have live music, great service and food! It’s a winning combination in my book. It’s on the Blanco square so you can grab lunch and go shopping in the cute shops. We had sandwiches with wonderful homemade breads. I enjoyed their great Cesar salad with chicken. We sat on their front porch patio since it was a beautiful day. The staff is super friendly and helpful. So next time you are in Blanco, give them a try.
While visiting family, we were out looking at Christmas lights and decided to grab some dinner at the Redbud Cafe. Glad we stopped what s great place. We had a party of 7 and there were plenty of seats and tables. The Cafe is setup where you order/pay as soon as you come in. Then you find a seat and they will bring your order once it is prepared. Dinks are self serve and there is a bar if you want something on tap or a mixed drink. They also had some local talent playing music and several TVs were playing football games. The food was great as was the service. I thought the name of the restaurant was a bit funny and was worth a try, glad we ventured in... the name Redbud brought up memories of the Chevy Chase movie named Funny Farm.
Went on a Sunday afternoon and there was a longer wait, but the staff was very upfront about it and informed us beforehand, which I really appreciate. The food was delicious and we ate of the patio. Really nice lunch experience overall.
In the midst of this small town sits the Redbud Cafe! There was indoor and outdoor seating! Since we had our dogs, we sat outdoors! We placed our order and, s it order was being prepared, the staff brought out cool water for the dogs! Great touch! I ordered the blanco burger and it was delicious! We also had the meatloaf sandwich and it was equally tasty! Service is quick n the meal is brought up to after yo order at the counter. Ingredients are fresh! We gladly went a second time and it was busy but equally delicious!
First time visiting this cafe on the recommendation of a friend. The Blanco Lavender Festival started on the day we visited and the cafe was packed. The service was “picnic style” so the two registers could get people through efficiently. Tables were assigned as you paid for your meal. I ordered the Reuben sandwich on marble rye and it was so tender and delicious that I would definitely go back just for that sandwich! One of my friends had the chicken salad on thick white bread and another friend had a coconut macaroon with coffee. I had the delicious lavender lemonade which was refreshing and not over powering in lavender. The atmosphere was electric due to the festivities and the cafe was clean, well organized and had plenty of smiling friendly staff. This restaurant is located in Blanco’s main square so you can park in front (except for this day due to the event). There is a pottery next door accessible from the cafe. Definitely worth a visit to both. My friends and I were happy we visited. Located in Blanco, Texas.
What a gem. Rustic with charming decor and a great menu. The menu is far larger than I would have thought and the food was excellent. Drinks and beer are served in the bar. The lavender margarita was quite good. Get there early as the line gets long fast but that's because it's got truly good food.
Delicious food and nice atmosphere. Really enjoyed the burgers. They have Axis, Angus, beef and venison. Really delicious. The cookies are also amazing and tasty. Go for the peanut butter chocolate chip or ginger molasses. They do need some French fries. They have soups and sandwiches. The waitstaff are nice and friendly. The place is clean and open.
Best tuna fish sandwich my husband and I have ever tasted.😊
Very nice Cafe, great food, drink, atmosphere and general store. Price seemed a little high when we ordered, but portion sizes were very good. The gal at the counter was nice, but not overly friendly, she gave me the wrong beer and forgot to give us the cookie we ordered. I will definitely go back to this Cafe again when I'm back in Blanco.
Pretty solid local place. I was driving through town and looked up places to eat, and this one had good reviews. A lot of good looking food options, and they have fresh cookies, so I had to try one. The staff were friendly and offered good service. This place is far from home for me, but if I was in the area again, I wouldn’t mind stopping by again.
The food here is absolutely amazing. It tastes fresh and homemade. I also love the ambiance, and the front porch is a great place to eat outdoors but in the shade. That being said, the 2 out of 3 times we have eaten here, our food has taken 45 minutes to 1 hour to be brought out following us ordering. If you have the time to enjoy a drink or two while waiting, then it's no big deal if you know and expect to wait. However, if you are wanting to order and eat in under an hour, either come at a really slow time or come back when you have more time. Again, the food is great but the wait time not so much.
Situated on the north side of the Square across from the Old Blanco County Courthouse, the cafe is a favorite of both locals and visitors. Car and motorcycle clubs frequent the place, but there’s a nice influx of locals with whom to visit. There’s nice variety to the menu with healthy and not-so-healthy options that folks really like. They have a yummy dessert case from which you may pick cookies, macaroons, cakes, pies, etc. Lots of soda and juice options options, along with beer and wine. The staff is helpful and friendly. There’s a small patio out front for outdoor dining with great views of the Square and old courthouse. There’s even live music on certain weekends. The place is busy during peak hours on weekends and holidays and you’ll stand in line unless you go during non-peak. There’s usually plenty of free parking available around the Square. My favorite item is the tuna melt.
Food was good. I especially love the home fries. They remind me of what I know as peasant potatoes. I ordered the kids hamburger. I like that they had several cheeses to choose from, however they did not have American cheese which is my favorite for burgers. And this burger was the perfect size for me. My mom ordered the fish wrap. It was so good, and plenty big enough as she couldn't finish it.
Good food as recommended by a friend from work. It was about an hour drive from home and we took the scenic drive. Food was pretty good, place was crowded and we were told that there would be a 45 minute wait for the food. Considering the was only one other place still open, we stayed. They had already run out of French Fries and other sides. I ended up ordering a side salad and had to pay $2.00 extra, which should've been given to me without charge since they ran out of the a "basic" side item. Our kids ordered "sweet" tea, and I saw they had some type of "liquid sugar." I ordered the Bleu Cheese burger. I ordered it cooked medium well and it came out a little "crisp-ier" than it should've. I couldn't have it cooked over since it had already been a long wait. We ordered the chips, salsa and queso, and the chips seemed as if they were out of a bag. The "queso" was tepid and the salsa was ok. Our kids had to have chips because there were no fries. My wife ordered a coffee but, they said they didn't have any. She went with a Fanta (Orange) and I also ordered a large Coke in a bottle. The down side, they didn't tell us to pull the drinks out of the cooler until after we had started our meals. The music was great. We will come back again so we can come in earlier so we can get the full meal experience.
Very enjoyable spot. I was shocked by the depth of the menu and selection of beers. There was a musician playing classic songs that everyone knows and loves . We decided to go eat out of the city on a Friday night and it payed off. My fish tacos were ok. I was in the mood for fish. It was decent I just thought it was missing something. My woman's sandwich was so good. It was so big and she was kind enough to share half of it with me.. turkey on rye. If you are in Blanco there are a few nice spots . Try this spot if you want a light meal with the nicest people. ,*** Came back again. This place is awesome. The food is just delicious. Tried to go eat lunch there on Saturday but it was so packed and no seats.
Redbud is a local favorite. Everything I've tried is tasty and fresh. Delicious sandwiches and salads. Fresh baked cookies. We had the classic Reuben sandwiches today. Excellent!
Food (burger & fries) was good. Staff was great. Very polite and solicitous. Never had to wait for my iced tea to be refilled. Comfortable atmosphere. Like the idea for the dollar bills/raffle on the ceiling.
Driving through Blanco on Friday and saw this restaurant, so decided to try it out. It’s very nice and large. Has plenty of tables throughout. It’s a self order at the counter and they bring out your food. I ordered a hamburger w/their potatoes and hubby got the Blaze of glory burger w/Mac n cheese. The hamburger came as a double meat burger, which I wasn’t expecting, but It was good overall. I should have asked for onions. My husband enjoyed his burger and liked the Mac n cheese. I wish we would have had more time, because they were setting up for live music and I would have liked to have had a few drinks. We’re going to have to go back another time.
I guess it's been a while since we were last here to eat. Used to sit and order at the table. Seem to remember a full menu of choices. Now it's more of a sandwich shop, ordering at the counter. I was disappointed with my mushroom Swiss burger and my wife wasn't pleased with her street tacos. Not at all like we remembered. It was a favorite place to go when we were in the area before. Maybe we caught them on a bad day.
The atmosphere and service were fantastic, creating a great vibe from the start. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to expectations. We tried the fish tacos, street tacos, and burger, but found them to be overpriced and underwhelming. I could barely taste the tilapia in the fish tacos, and the steak in the street tacos had an odd, almost sour taste. A disappointing end to what could have been a great dining experience.
Fun place to drop in for live music and drinks. Food itself was very bland.
This restaurant seemed very promising, given its numerous 5-star ratings, but fell short of my expectations. While the presentation of the jerk chicken tacos was there, the flavor did not live up to its authentic taste; the chicken lacked the distinctive jerk seasoning and was only mildly spicy. I also tried the French dip and the bread was just so thick with meet and cheese. Despite the accompaniment of sauce, the sandwich itself tasted bland. The only thing good there is the burgers, sweets, and drinks.
We have been faithful customers for years. This place was awesome!! The Rueben was one of the best I ever had. Then Covid hit. I understand costs went up and the cut the meat by 50% to survive. But it is 2025 and today if it is your first time you would never go back. All the dishes are just terrible. Burgers are dry and over cooked. Rueben is so tough you can’t chew it. My wife takes the meat off half and piles it on the other half just to get enough meat for half sandwich that is still not good. So sad how this place has fallen!
Decided to meet family for lunch halfway between Austin and San Antonio. Chose Blanco, and the Red Bud Cafe. Everyone working there was extremely nice. Plenty of seating inside and outside. But it is a restaurant so that means food. Everything is separate, so get a burger, and any side is extra. Food was average. Good but nothing special, yet the prices were ridiculous. It was $100 for 4 people to have a simple meal. Want a cheeseburger, side and tea? Bring $25 with you. The whole place is just way over priced. Must be why most of the cars parked outside were high end.
I only give two stars based on this was my first visit here. We showed up a little before closing, we didn't realize they closed at 3:00. I ordered a pimento cheese sandwich, which was terrible. It should be served in a pita pocket or a naan bread or something, my bread was dry and everything squished out of it. It was just not a good first-time experience. I also ordered chips and queso, and I definitely don't think they're worth $10. I would definitely go back and give it another try, but I would for sure order another menu item. $12.95 for just that sandwich, smh. I'll stick to crackers for my pimento cheese.
Food is ok. Quiche was Luke warm and the crust was a bit soggy. Chicken pie soup was pretty much all chunks of potatoes. Bill for soup and salad, quiche and salad and two cocktail drinks was $56!! Biggest issue was wait time. At 1pm, we waited 20 minutes in line to order and 15 more to get drinks and 15 more to get our food. This is our second time here. Last time left due to the wait. It’s busy that has to account for something.
Never going back! Low quality food! The quiche I ordered had a foamy feeling and no taste. They use the cheapest meat for their burgers! They don’t have a soda fountain and no fries! Their bathrooms are just gross! And a loooong wait to order and get your food!
So I brought my family here after church because we finally got an opportunity to eat out together. Well, I’ll get right to it. We waited 45 for our food before I went to go for my refund. Right then and there, the food came out. Now I know that it was Sunday, after church and the place was packed…but 45 minutes for a couple burgers, fries, and a kids meal? To me it was unacceptable, but because it was ready right there, we ended up eating the food (see the picture comments). I gave this place only one star because the people were friendly.
BUGS IN SALAD!!!!!! I ordered the chicken ceasar and enjoyed it for a bit until I saw a small bug crawling on a piece of lettuce. Almost looked like a tick. I then inspected the other pieces and found a dead fly on a different leaf. When we went to warn them the manager said it was our fault for eating outside. They did not offer comp the meal or even apologize. Genuinely one of the rudest restaurant experiences I've ever had. The bugs were both on the bottom layers of my salad, one of them was already dead, to insinuate that two different bugs both crawled INSIDE my meal without my noticing is insulting and unprofessional. My only regret is that I didn't take pictures for this review. Never eating there or shopping in the cafe beside it ever again and I suggest you don't either.
I had such high hopes for this place and was let down immediately. The woman taking orders was SO rude and clearly would have rather been anywhere else… I ordered a turkey sandwich on gluten-free bread and after taking one bite realized there was PAPER in my sandwich. Deli paper stuck between the slices of turkey. Asked for the sandwich to be remade and when they brought it back, it was missing cheese this time. At that point I just ate the sandwich because I couldn’t bear something else going wrong and I was starving. Terrible service, terrible food. Wouldn’t recommend.
The food wasn't good. My wife's hamburger wasn't seasoned. Her skillet potatoes were greasy. I ordered the jerk chicken tacos. They were dripping with greasy and the chicken had ZERO flavor. Needless to say we won't ever be stopping there again. Highly disappointed.
