My best friend and I visited Susukino Ramen last night and it was honestly a 10/10 experience from start to finish. We decided to try their $29 dinner special, which includes your choice of ramen, sushi, and an appetizer — and it was absolutely worth it. Everything came out fresh, hot, and beautifully presented. The ramen was rich and flavorful without being too heavy, and the portion size was perfect. The sushi tasted incredibly fresh and well-balanced, and you could tell care was put into the preparation. Even the appetizer exceeded expectations — nothing felt rushed or thrown together. Every dish was consistent and high quality. The atmosphere really made the night even better. The restaurant felt cozy and warm but still spacious and comfortable. It wasn’t overcrowded or loud, which made it the perfect setting to relax, catch up, and enjoy a good meal. The lighting and overall vibe created such a welcoming environment — especially for sushi and ramen. Service was smooth and attentive without being overwhelming. Overall, it was one of those dining experiences where everything just hits — food, vibe, value, and company. We’ll definitely be back soon and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dinner spot.
Delicious food, I was stuffed at the end. Generous portions, cozy atmosphere. Also tried the yuzu cheesecake, samll portion, but that was perfect.
To give you some idea of just how good this place is: I was in the city today for an 11:30 appointment in Queens and had to catch a 3:00 bus out of Port Authority. I practically jogged to and from the subways to get to eat here while in town. Was just as delicious as I remember. The lunch special is one of the best dollar for dollar deals in the Fidi. I’ve never had anything here that wasn’t fresh and perfectly balanced in flavor, not the bowl of salt water you normally get at ramen shops. If you’ll be in the area I highly recommend and you might catch me running in and out next time
Absolutely delicious tonkotsu ramen for a cold January day! The broth is super comforting, the jammy egg is incredibly flavorful and the pork pieces are to die for! The roll was also pretty good in combination with the ramen as part of the lunch special, but the ramen is an absolute show stealer.
That was the first time I'd been to a restaurant that served ramen. Fantastic. Of course, I don't have many points of comparison, but it was truly delicious. We timed our visit perfectly. The restaurant filled up quickly after we arrived. If you like this kind of food and are looking for a place to eat it, I think this is a great option. I'd happily come back again.
The food is really good. It was empty at 11:30 am but quickly filled up once lunchtime arrived. By 12:30 it was pretty full. The $21 Lunch set was the perfect size. The Veggie Ramen was on the saltier side but still good. The Tonkatsu Ramen was delicious. The Salmon roll was good as well as their Cucumber side that came with the dish. Slightly sweet and creamy and refreshing. The Mango Tea was sweet and delicious. Highly recommend.
Came here for dinner after a long travel day and hours of walking around, and could not be happier! The atmosphere was perfectly relaxed to enjoy a nice meal without the chaos of a busy restaurant on a Saturday night, and it was one of the best ramens I've ever had! I got the tonkotsu ramen and def recommend it.
The atmosphere was super nice, the aesthetics of the place was so beautiful and mesmerizing. We went during lunch time so it wasn’t peak so there was barely anyone, I think it gets much busier later in the day. The food was amazing!!! Still thinking about the tonkutso ramen I had because since then, I haven’t tasted another one as grest as it was in NYC. The lunch prices are also really good!!
Tried Susukino Ramen recently and really enjoyed it! I ordered the lunch set, which was a great deal. One thing I really appreciated is that they offer lunch sets on weekends sth u don’t usually see in NYC, since most places only have them on weekdays. The restaurant has a clean, cozy vibe and the atmosphere was really pleasant. Everything felt well-organized and the staff was friendly too. Definitely a solid spot if you’re craving ramen and want a nice lunch deal on the weekend!
Nice ramen place with pleasant service and rather diverse menu; susukino ramen was a little underwhelming (tonkotsu ramen had much better broth); yuzu cheesecake small but quite tasty. Dinners sets look like quite a good bargain but we noticed them on the menu too late so didn’t try any.
We visited this place during Halloween and tried the dinner set — we chose Vegetable Ramen, Harumaki, and Avacado Cucumber Roll. It was our first time having Japanese food, and it turned out to be a great experience! The flavors were unique, the portions were good, and the overall vibe made the evening even better.
We passed by on a sunny day and were drawn in by the attractive Japanese style decor that extended to the bathroom. I was surprised when the entree and appetizers all arrived at the same time and cluttered our entire table making it a bit difficult to eat. The maki lunch set was a nice pairing for the ramen, but a bit much for the rice dishes. The ramen was surprisingly just decent - the sushi were better crafted
A few minutes from the Battery Park. Serves an amazing Miso Soup and Kani Salad! The staff is friendly. We were able to reserve a table ahead, recommended, but they have a waiting area, and a bar area to wait if needed! They have a good selection of Ramen. No kids menu as such. We had a kid with us and we ordered him Chicken Katsu and Mixed Tempura and he was happy with his food! Recommended!
Tried the ramen here and it was okay. The broth had decent flavor and the noodles were cooked well, but nothing really stood out as amazing. The portion size was fair and the toppings were fresh, though I wish there was a bit more depth to the overall taste.
Service and atmosphere were fine, but I was greatly disappointed by the food. I ordered two dinner sets. The tonkotsu ramen was very bland, the soup base tasted almost completely watered down. The shumai was poorly made, and there was no regular soy sauce provided for the sushi, only sweet soy sauce, which significantly affected the flavor. I also ordered the spicy dandanmen ramen, but the broth was sweet rather than spicy. Overall, the dish leaned far more toward sweetness than spicy, which was very disappointing. The only items that were decent were the gyoza and the sushi.
I don’t understand how this place can have such high ratings. The bao buns where very simple and absolutely nothing special. They had no wrapping, so they got stuck to the metal holder and broke. Dandanmen however was really bad. Watery, bland and ”just spicy” with noodles and half an egg. I realize this is a Chinese ”ramen” place, since they call it dan dan and not tan tan.
Food was fine, ramen was not very flavorful and portion was not that big for the price. Service: We made a reservation for 6:30 PM and they had called us beforehand to make sure that we were coming. When making the booking they told us many times to be on time but when we got to the restaurant, our table was not ready even though we were on time. We had to wait an extra 15 extra 15 minutes just for them to clear a table. It was clear nothing was reserved. Additionally they did not take our order correctly initially.
had the lunch tonkotsu ramen + salmon roll delivered and it was terrible. the tonkotsu was lacking depth and flavor, the chashu was tough to chew, and the egg was demolished and flavorless. the sushi rice was straight up plain white rice without any seasoning, so the roll fell apart. the karaage was okay.
