Sunday brunch for this spot, for a chill, great scenery, great vibes with all the right songs, tequila & tacos! I got to go during brunch times, the waitress checked off the vibe check! Was able to help me out exactly with what I wanted! I told her what I was feeling and she reassured that what I wanted was THE items in the menu! I could have ordered TWO orders of the pancakes! But probably would have had to be carried out! Do yourself a favor & grab the Cornbread Pancakes has is (if you like everything there) TRUST ME ! With the tater tots make sure to cut the egg over it before trying so it’s not as dry! Recently took family there cause I felt so highly about them, and it had been confirmed . THE brunch spot! We had 3 orders of the pancakes at the table! & the staff is truly amazing! Friendly, welcoming! Have my girl now that’s there, that is THE girl she’ll make sure everything comes out on point! Idk if I want to tell yall, cause then you’ll make it difficult for me!

(Last visited October 19, 2023.) Hanging out in Boston for work and it's Taco Tuesday! So naturally, I do some Yelp'ing and found Citrus & Salt! Here's how it went... Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right downtown Boston tucked among the skyscrapers is this gem. Obviously, it's downtown so it won't have a private parking lot. I'm sure there's plenty of street parking in a neighborhood nearby, but be careful to really read the signs carefully. Once inside it felt a little like a nightclub! Lol. Not that the music was loud of anything, but the energy inside or lively, the vibes were high and everyone seemed like they were having a good time. I was also surprised by how big the place was! So many downtown restaurants have a small footprint, but this one was about the size of 2 "normal" restaurants. The decor was awesome, the lighting was a little dark, but it was colorful and energetic. Service: We sat at the bar and even though it was quite busy, we had no issues at all. Food: My friends and I were sharing so many plates that I can't remember everything that I had. Lol. However, I remember liking everything that I tried. The drinks were also good! Everything was so picturesque, but the flavors definitely matched the plate's visuals. Value: This place is a bit more "upscale" than your "traditional" Mexican restaurant. So you will pay more here, but it's totally worth it. I probably spent $75.00 myself on a few taps and some drinks. In conclusion, I really liked it here and would absolutely return here! I have nothing bad to say about this place!

Lovely brunch spot! Beautiful atmosphere and amazing tapas! Perfect sharing sizes and the drinks were top notch!

My wife and I had an amazing brunch at Citrus and Salt thanks to Manuela our fantastic and attentive server. Jenn, the manager, was a very hospitable host. We felt very welcomed.

We came for a Saturday drag brunch and it was so much fun!! The ambiance and decor in this place is absolutely stunning! The food was super fresh (from the ceviche to the chips, you can tell everything was made fresh) but could use a bit more flavor. Overall great experience. Would probably come back for the drag brunch experience but not just for the food.

French toast was very tasty! Loved the whole meal. Ambiance was great too! Definitely recommend!

We couldn’t get a reservation at our preferred time since it was a Saturday night, but it worked out just fine. The bar was full service and had a great vibe. The lighting and decor were beautiful, with warm tones and cherry blossoms that made the space feel magical. It was the perfect setting for a cozy date night. The tacos were amazing. The fish tacos were our favorite — super fresh, warm, and packed with flavor. The ground beef tacos (gordita crunch style) were a close second. The duck tacos were just okay in comparison. The drinks were excellent. I started with the mango cucumber margarita (because tequila is cheaper than therapy, right?) and really liked it. My partner had the espresso martini and loved it. For our second round, I had the "Beautiful Liar" with prickly pear, tequila, elderflower, orange blossom, and black lava salt. My partner went for the "Garden of Eva" with mezcal, watermelon, and basil. Both were nice, but we still preferred our first choices. Overall, it was a fantastic date night with great food, drinks, and ambiance. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Citrus & Salt never disappoints! The food and drinks are always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service is top-notch — friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Definitely worth a try, and absolutely a place I’ll be coming back to again and again.

Had a fantastic time here for a birthday recently. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Technically everything is tapas style, but my friends and I all ordered our own plates as meals, with chips to share, and were satisfied. I had the avocado toast, which was very tasty. Tried a bit of the cornbread pancakes, and they were absolutely amazing. Will definitely be getting those as my meal next time! Vegetarian options are available. We were seated in a smaller private room (seemingly because it was a birthday, but it also might have been because our party was a bit big), but it will be fun to visit again and see more of the decor in the rest of the restaurant.

Citrus and Salt is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, the aesthetic environment captivates you with its vibrant, yet relaxed vibe - perfect for any occasion. The decor is modern yet welcoming, with a mix of clean lines and cozy touches that create a warm, inviting atmosphere. The food is just as impressive. Each dish is thoughtfully crafted, bursting with bold flavors that hit the spot every time. Whether you’re there for a light bite or a full meal, everything is fresh and expertly prepared. Don’t skip the drinks - they offer a great selection, from creative cocktails to refreshing mocktails, all of which are a treat. A perfect place to enjoy fantastic food, great drinks, and an unforgettable ambiance! Highly recommend!

We went here for after dinner cocktails on 10/9. WHAT A VIBE!! Love the decor, the service, the music, the lighting and the drinks! I loved their water glasses so much that I searched for them and found them on Amazon! The staff was so nice as we asked them to take photos for us. The Patron Room is a must see. We have great photos to remember our trip. It was an amazing experience. Bostonians are great!

Went here for brunch. Very pretty and bright in the front of the restaurant. The back is called the jungle room also very pretty but a bit darker due to less windows but was very nice as well. We ate the flaming hot cheeto corn, egg Benedict and fish tacos. My favorite was the egg Benedict and well worth the money. The corn was not that great. For drinks I got the I didn't text you tequila did and my sister got the Chocolate Carajillo. We both thought they were delicious. We got 2 drinks each and the 3 plates it came to $180.

We had been following the restaurant on Instagram, and we were so excited when we discovered we were in the area and that they were open for brunch. The food was superb, with flavorful dishes in combinations that you wouldn’t have normally thought of. The drinks were awesome, and everything was presented in a way that makes a photo a must. For being in Boston, we didn’t feel that the prices were unreasonable, and the portions were generous.

Outstanding Mexican food here! Almost everything we ordered from tapas to tacos were 5/5 and I would come back in a heartbeat. I definitely recommend the street corn, croquettes, beef birria tacos, and then the churros for dessert. The street corn was coated in Flamin’ Hot Cheeto crumbles which was genius, in my opinion. It added a slight bit of heat as well as crunch and it worked great with the cotija cheese. The beef birria tacos really stood out as well—just a ton of flavor & crispy. The vibes of the restaurant were also super fun and colorful. They have a pretty wide cocktail menu and I enjoyed my Beautiful Liar with tequila and prickly pear. The churros are a great way to end the meal and they give you plenty of chocolate sauce and dulce. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend are the blue crab empanadas. Maybe it was the seasoning, but it tasted a bit rustic and bogged down/heavy.

Visited here in October for brunch time. Beautiful restaurant I was in aw!! We got a few drinks and just tried the corn appetizer. The drinks were the price you'd expect in Boston around $12, all 3 were very good.

This restaurant is absolutely adorable! From the moment I walked in, I fell in love w the everything! The colors, the flowers, the energy, it all drew me in. We went for brunch to celebrate a birthday, and everyone from the hosts to the waitress were so kind & accommodating. The food was delicious, and the drinks were so fun! My fav was the short rib benedict- I'll definitely be back for that!

A happy (and a little loud) place. Best to share plates/tapas. Particularly good were the swordfish ceviche, chicken taquitos, and churros for dessert. Specialty mixed drinks were a little too sweet for my taste. Service was incredibly fast and friendly. I will absolutely come back when we visit again.

Absolutely amazing! Tapas style food so can feel like small portions but I think was a great size for two people at brunch. Amazing service and atmosphere.

Went to the new location in the Seaport first time was in Back Bay, but this place was decorated so beautifully for Valentine’s Day. We had brunch and it didn’t disappoint. The fish tacos were great Beria quesadilla was amazing but the favorite was the fried chicken and waffle taco and the drinks were delicious. Definitely recommend a reservation, but brunch wasn’t too bad and they had plenty of seating at the bar.

The moment I tasted the first bite, I was transported to a culinary paradise. The flavors were bold and vibrant, the textures perfectly balanced. The festive atmosphere, reminiscent of a beloved vacation spot, added to the overall dining experience. I can't wait to return and indulge in more of this culinary delight. Thank you, Jason, for sharing a piece of heaven with me."

This is one good Mexican place in Boston. I fell in love with the interior, so festive with great vibes. The food is relatively spicy which is expected given that it’s Mexican but I would have appreciated if there were more less spicy options. My friend and I shared a few tapas and tacos from the menu. The grilled street corn were my less favorite because they were so spicy. My favorite taco is the beef birria taco, so good and flavorful. The drinks are also delicious with a good amount of alcohol in them.

Such a fun experience! Inside is beautiful and out service was wonderful! It's definitely a place where people go to take photos! Such a fun vibe! Our food was not as scrumptious, but the drinks were excellent!

A

All in all a positive experience. Only complaints I have is they initially forgot the beef on the taco salad we asked for, our food came out at different times and I felt bad my step daughter had to wait another 5 minutes for her food…and then the restaurant called me saying I didn’t pay, all because they didn’t look under the check where the $100 that included a 25% tip. But the food was good, nothing special and the atmosphere was beautiful.

L
Lacey Martell

Food was delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful. We were sat next to the kitchen and were unable to chat much due to the noise, but our server placed us at another table which was great. I order my food without an ingredient as I did not like the taste of it, and 1/2 of my meal was made properly and the other half had the ingredient I requested not be included. Overall the food and drinks were delicious and at a great price and the service was great, I would just recommend double checking your food if you have dietary restrictions. Additionally, this is a beautiful restaurant location with a pretty interior if you are looking for a pretty place to have a meal.

I went to Citrus and Salt to celebrate my birthday, the restaurant esthetics were nice. I loved the vibe of the place. The food was good and I tried the octopus which was very good. I hope they create more dishes for the menu.

It was a beautiful place with a good atmosphere. Made a reservation here for my birthday with a party of 5. We first got a table seating but requested a booth. The host was nice and accommodating and was able to move us. This place is great for social media photos. They had arts everywhere and that made it photo worthy. The food and drinks was good. We got the Patron tower and let me tell you. The MANGO patron slushie was the BEST! PARKING was easy at the garage near by. As for food portion my opinion was not fulfilling for us 5. That's the only thing that was negative for us. Overall the place is great! Recommend!

Nice vibe and colors, fresh food, service was a little slow. Grilled shrimp tostadas have great flavors, churros - not impressed.

Very cute spot. The food was definitely visually appealing, but wasn’t quite what I expected. Service was great, drinks were good, and the music was a vibe. I’m not sure what standard prices are for drinks in the area, but expect to pay $18 per margarita. If you want to hear the latest reggaeton hits while eating a duck taco, this spot is for you!

Larger sized tapas. Perfect for sharing with a table of 4. I really enjoyed the tuna, cheese fries, and the birria tacos. Out of the 6 cocktails we had 1 of them was good, which is unfortunate because they sound different and good. For a table of 4 we got 5 dishes including the cheese fries. The service was slow hard to get drinks they were rushing us out so much so we barely were able to get a full second drinks order. Even then they gave us a bag for the drink... the place is really cool. Love the lively atmosphere. Street parking, and a parking garage a couple blocks away.

Very colorful place. Nice ambiance. Simple menu. Some items were much better than the other (the octopus is pretty tasty). Would have taken a better choice of craft beer. There is almost only macro Mexican lagers.

I recently visited for a girls' dinner, and after hearing about this place for a while, I was excited to finally check it out. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, offering a fun and picturesque atmosphere—perfect for a girls' night or date night. There's so much cute decor and it's enjoyable. If you're a tequila fan, they have an impressive tequila bar, along with other cocktails and mocktails to choose from. We started with the guacamole and queso, which is always a solid choice. It comes with jalapeño chips, but you can request regular chips if you prefer less heat. For our main dishes, we tried the quesadilla, birria tacos, and short rib fries. The quesadilla was more like a smothered taco with a red sauce, meatballs, and other meats and cheese inside—definitely something you’ll need a knife and fork for. The birria tacos were crispy and cheesy, but they didn't wow me; the beef was tender, but I felt it needed a bit more flavor. The short rib fries were the standout for me—tender, flavorful short rib with a sauce that didn't make the fries soggy, keeping them nice and crispy. Overall, it’s not a place I’m rushing to return to, but it’s a cute spot for a quick bite and drinks, especially if you’re looking for an Instagram-worthy setting.

Aesthetically, the place is beautiful. Definitely gives birthday/Instagram showy vibes. Our waiter was kind and informative, customer service was 5 stars! We had to be moved from our first table because the AC was dripping water on my friend. But other than that no issues. The drinks were delicious, pricey but regular for the seaport area. I loved the "I DIDN'T TEXT YOU TEQUILA DID" and the SOFT SERVE MIMOSA sorbet of the day. I would come back over and over again for these drinks! The birria tacos, five star! Very tasty. The street corn was good, I just wish it's didn't have so much chip dusting on it. The tuna ceviche with mango was amazing, so fresh but there wasn't enough chips for the amount that was in there, so we had to ask for a few more. I wouldn't recommend the Nashville chicken taco, the chicken should have been shredded or cut up. The chicken needed to be better. The blue crab empanadas was enjoyable! Tasty and fresh crab in it! I would recommend this place, and I would come back again.

Citrus & Salt is a gorgeous restaurant, with a beautiful interior, ambience and vibe that creates a great atmosphere and environment, setting the stage for a great dining experience. The staff were very friendly and attentive, making sure we got all of our needs met. Our food was delectable, with lovely refreshing drinks to balance it out. The birria tacos are to die for, and fulfilled my expectations. The tapas are also great and perfect for sharing with friends and family. Overall my friends and I had a lovely experience at Citrus & Salt Boston and would highly recommend it. We will be back!!!

The place is STUNNING especially if you're a pink kind of person. But everything else was just OK... Nothing was BAD but nothing was like OMG I need to come back to this place ASAP especially for the price...... Well maybe their espresso martini CUUZZZZ CAFE PATRON TEQUILA ESPRESSO MARTINI blew my mind I wanted 7.

J

Really beautiful setting inside, food is tapas so think shareable appetizers (small portions, more for two people) and not a meal. The food was good but we found everything super greasy, and the shrimp on the tostadas was not fresh, very pungent smell and inedible. The drinks tasted great and their drink menu is really cool. The biggest draw back was the service. Although fast, everyone was not very friendly, and made you feel like an inconvenience and like they had an attitude.

A

Gorgeous place with poor service . The server was nice but not enough to elevate the experience. The guacamole lacked flavor . The best part of this place were the cocktails . I had the savage , it was surprinly good . This is a influencers dream but a foodies nightmare . I also had the s Shrimp tostadas. Not worth the $14 with 2 shrimp on each cute place not worth the hype . Lastly , more servers on the floor is needed . It’s a pretty big place but needs to be treated as such . This would be great for pregaming and drinking for girls tonight, but I don’t wanna eat dinner here. .

Everything was pretty good, some of it okay, but the biggest let downs were 1. the foreign objects (hair, rubber etc.) in our drinks, and 2. The dark, creepy room we were put in. You can not tell by these photos that we were at a brunch restaurant in broad daylight. The front half of the restaurant is beautiful, but even with a reservation we were shuffled to the back without any daylight/ambiance of what you would expect from a brunch.

b
bella ricch

nice aesthetic for pictures. server was nice. food was trash no seasoning or flavor whatsoever. i asked for no cilantro in my birria tacos and i found cilantro throughout my cheese so they clearly don’t give you what you ask for. not to mention the consume had no flavor it was like oil with tomatoes in it for them to call themselves a mexican restaurant and can’t even get a good consume is not it. drinks were good strong corn and churros were the best thing i had.

M
Michael Hampton

The restaurant let a pet dog. It was not a service or therapy dog. See the posted picture. The dog lunged at another patron passing by at one point. The canine also jumped up on the benches and twice ate from the table at one point as well. The hostess said they do not let dogs in "typically" and that there were no policies about it. Management was notified by the table next to us, but the owners of the dog were clearly friends of the restaurant as the GM/manager did in fact approach the pet owners, and actually hugged one of them. Other staff did as well. One table in close proximity to us left in disgust. We would have, too, but we were almost done. We skipped another round of drinks and dessert, however. If this is what they allow in the front of the house, and this is indicative of how they think of their overall customers, then I would surely leave Citrus & Salt off of your dining list. The food was so so at best also.

My partner and I came here for Valentine’s Day after seeing the romantic, elegant vibe that was promoted online, and unfortunately our experience didn’t match that at all. The atmosphere felt much more like a club than a Valentine’s dinner. They were blasting Daddy Yankee and other high-energy music at a volume that made it hard to have a conversation. The music itself wasn’t the issue, but it didn’t align with the “classy, romantic” ambiance that was advertised. It felt loud and chaotic rather than intimate and special, which was disappointing for a holiday that’s typically centered around a more relaxed, romantic experience. The food was also underwhelming. Our dishes were not served hot, and overall the quality didn’t live up to the price point or expectations. 3 appetizers and one drink was over $100 after tip. I'm not cheap but that's pretty expensive even if we were tipping nicely. I don’t want to be overly critical, but I do think it’s important for couples considering this spot for a romantic occasion to know that the vibe is much more clubby than elegant. If you’re looking for something closer to the ambiance of Mariel or Coquette, this may not be the right fit for a Valentine’s dinner or date night in general.
