Here are two clean, friendly, helpful Google‑review–style write‑ups based on everything you shared. They read like real customer reviews, keep the gluten‑friendly angle clear, and include the Boston trip with Colbie where appropriate. --- ⭐ Google Review for Cósmica (Boston) Rating: ★★★★★ Stayed at the Revolution Hotel Lofts with my daughter Colbie and wandered into Cósmica for dinner — such a great surprise. They had several gluten‑friendly options, and everything we ordered was fantastic. The short rib tacos, guac and chips, street corn, and chipotle enchiladas were all flavorful and fresh. As someone who eats gluten‑free, I really appreciated how easy it was to navigate the menu without feeling limited. The vibe was fun, the service was warm, and the food hit every note. Perfect spot if you’re staying nearby or just looking for great Mexican in Boston.

Food was fresh, creative, delicious and service was fast (Thurs night, 1/3rd full). This is a good place for people who not familiar with how good Mexican cuisine can be. Tuna Tostada was a highlight, and the short rib tacos were also very very good. Atmosphere is a bit on the young/hip side. Despite music being played, it was not too loud and we could converse easily. Highly recommended.

We had dinner with my friends at Cósmica and enjoyed it so much! The food was absolutely delicious as well as the cocktails. We felt super welcomed and loved the environment. We will for sure come back to try more of the menu!

One of my new favorite spots. Drinks were strong and tasty, love the inventive small plates that let us try a few different things. Mole chicken was fall apart tender and moist. Looking forward to more visits in the future.

We stopped in on a Tuesday night and had a great quick meal. The service was fast. As you can see from the pics, it's stunning. They had great chic music and a pleasant balance of variety. Our favorites were the watermelon salad and tuna tostada. Check them out!

Visited Cosmìca for a casual night out and had a great time. My partner tried the Cowboy’s Pet — a lovely, spiced tequila-based drink — and I went for the spicy margarita with a tajín rim, which was really good. Both cocktails were beautifully presented and picture-worthy. We shared four small plates and enjoyed them all, ranking favorites from garlic shrimp (the star of the night) to fish tacos, pork tacos, and then beef tacos. The atmosphere was inviting and added to the whole experience — a spot that’s perfect for drinks and tacos with friends or a date.

The food was muy rico 😀 Our waiter Andreas was super cool and friendly. He even allowed us to practice some Spanish with him. He was so patient when I was slaughtering the language of Cervantes. We selected a big plate, and a small one, along with Guac and chips. Everything was fresh and delicious; the portions are rather not huge for USA, but just the right size for Europe. The Mango Margarita was excellent; and if you are into beers, they do have some good old standard Mexican beers (not only Corona). (By the way, did you know that Germans brought the art of brewing beer to Mexico, and also accordion? Yeah watch some B-Movies guys)

Absolutely delicious! We had the pork tacos and the roast chicken fajita plate. The chicken was set on their delicious mole and the pork tacos were extremely flavorful. We also really enjoyed the green salsa that they served with their chips. Our waiter was friendly and service was quick. Thank you!!

Highly recommended!! Cosmica is the place to go for Mexican food. Food and service are amazing!!! Alan was in charge of our table. We were a party of 5. He was great, he had the patience to explain and describe to us almost every item in the menu and advise us what dishes were good to share or to order individually. He also recommended drinks. He was an amazing waiter!!! The food is really authentic Mexican! We had guacamole con salsas, Birria, Quesadillas. Carnitas tacos, fajitas de pollo, carne asada. Man, this is the real authenticity Mexican flavor. I highly recommend the birria and the carne asada. And highly recommend the spicy maracuya (passion fruit) margarita, If you are more that 2 drinking Margarita I would recommend getting the margarita pitcher. Thank you Chef for the great food and thank you Alan for your great service!!

I enjoyed the Cósmica experience. Good tacos and guacamole. The atmosphere was conducive to talking. Music was on, but not distracting. Service was great. Street parking is a challenge.

Thomas and Ramone, sorry for the spelling... Were great! Conversation and skill. Margarita's are 10/10 BEST in Boston. Thomas is hilarious! Thank you, Sir!

I always have excellent service here! The bartenders are fantastic. And the food is really great, but you don't get a lot of it for the price (just so you know). The drinks are very tasty. It's also a beautiful restaurant right in the South End, connected to the Revolution Hotel.

Stopped here for dinner tonight. The food was wonderful! I had the taco tasting and my son had the Colorado plate (something like that). Both were delicious! Alan was our waiter. He was attentive but not overbearing. I highly recommend!

We had a great meal at Cosmica with Alan as our server! The ambience, food, drinks, and service were all wonderful. Such a great date night spot or for a bite with friends!! Highly recommend the brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and the duck carnitas tamale. Our cocktails were delicious & the service was fast & friendly. Thank you Alan for a great experience!!

This restaurant was perfect after a show in the theater district! The food was delicious and SO easy to share. They also make mocktails....Adriana was a fantastic waitress...attentive to every detail!

The food was phenomenal and the service was great. The portion sizing is a little bit small in my opinion but it wouldn't steer me away from revisiting. The cheesy shrimp taco was absolutely addicting and melted in our mouths. The tuna ceviche was also delicious. The fish was fresh and good quality. It was very flavorful and a fun dish to share. The frozen mango margarita was so tasty and was a great mix of alcohol and mango. It was quite filling and a joy to drink.

I decided to check out this restaurant since it’s connected to the hotel I was staying in. Immediately when I came in the space felt inviting. The hostess is kind and attentive. My waiter Alan was super helpful going on the menu options. I went with their baby cucumber option and omg I was pleasantly surprised. It’s packed with flavor, similarly to spices that you would find in Indian food like coriander and turmeric. It was fresh, zesty and full of flavor. For main I went with the suadero brisket. So freaking good. Great portion to have if your big foodie girlie and like big portions for yourself. The meat was tender with nice flat or to it. I ended my journey with their coconut flan. Small and sweet. Overall, great experience. I will deff be back !!

This is a lovely hidden gem next to the Revolution Hotel. The food was quite good. I recommend the cauliflower with the pineapple and the sotol ranch water. Alan was our waiter and he was very informative and kind. I also appreciated that the menu was very clear about the gluten free options.

Food is AMAZING. Very authentic and delicious. Drinks are perfectly served. Great atmosphere. And Alan is the best server. He made sure to ask about my food allergies which is super helpful to someone like me with stomach issues. Definitely coming back ASAP!!

Terrific patio in the south end! Service was terrific, pricing was affordable, food was excellent, and everything was respecting social distancing protocol. Especially loved the guac and chips, the drinks, and of course the tacos. Would definitely visit again since it's so close by!

I ordered the Tuna Tostada and the Baby Cucumbers and both were really good! My favorite part about the restaurant was the ambiance. It had a really fun and charming vibe - I would definitely come back!

For brunch, the chicken colorado bowl was very good. The beans were creamy, the chicken was flavourful and the slaw on the too had the right acidity and spiciness to balance the dish. Great service as well!

Nice place to go with friends, with a great atmosphere to start a fun night. Food has real Mexican taste, and the mezcal-based cocktails are amazing. Be aware that plates are on the small size -tapas like- so be ready to spend some money if you want to really enjoy the experience.

I didn’t take the time to take pictures but let me say that this was an AMAZING experience. It is not easy to find an authentic Mexican restaurant. The tuna tostada and the Mole Amarillo con pollo were delicious. This place has the taste and the vibe of any high end restaurant in CDMX. DJ Dynamo’s music was just great. Definitely coming back and tempted to staying at the Revolution Hotel.

Amazing location. Place is really large with space for all sizes of groups. Staff is friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I was greeted at door and immediately seated with water and menu. The short rib tacos are AMAZING. the decor indoor and outdoor is so relaxing. It really does feel like you are on vacation. It gives a very inclusive feel. Like roslindale or Jamaica Plain. I absolutely love this place. Great for pre gaming or to spend entire night. Music is flawless. Great vibes.

Pricey Mexican restaurant with good service and average food. Service: Our server, John, very polite and respectful. Helpful when asked for a recommendation and mindful to not barge in when we were talking. The food came out quick, well its also the cuisine but it was fairly fast. We were in and out within 1.5 hrs with no complains. +1 Food: We were a party of 2 and went with 2 appetizers, 1 entree and 1 Taco. For appetizers we ordered the Gauc n Chips (yes cliche) and the Tuna Ceviche. Honestly, they were okay. The guac was creamy with pumpkin seeds sprinkled over it and the Tuna Ceviche was average. We got the Baja Taco special, bear battered Baja with Chipotle Aioli, nice blend, recommend it if its available. The Shrimp fajitas were also good, nicely sautéed in cajun and pepper seasoning but definitely pricey ($29) Ambience: Casual evening vibe with mariachi playing in the background and a low hum of people talking. Keep in mind if you are driving and going after 6pm, parking around the area is restricted to Residents only.

Good place with some creative menu items...such as a frozen painkiller - which is an adult slushie. The only complaints we has were that the service was too fast and the brisket was unremarkable. The chips/salsa, shrimp quesadilla, and salmon were good.

Fun lively vibe! Must HAVE is the mushroom quesadilla! Tuna tostada is also worth a try while their cocktails are flavorful and tasty. Worth a visit.

Came here for a large get together (10+ people), and the the food was delicious. Service was a bit slow, but it could be due to the amount of people in our group, but everything else was great. The ambience was especially nice, and well suited for a largr group. Food was also really good and tasty, although the portion was a bit small for the price I paid.

Very loud and full of college kids. It was so incredibly loud we couldn't hear each other across the table without yelling. Food was fine, but not worth the downtown prices.

Amazing food and convenient location! We are visiting Boston and this was a highly rated place which makes sense! We split the enchiladas, beef birria tacos, and the chips with guacamole/salsa. Also got a sangria pitcher - amazing! Our waitress was so attentive and sweet, definitely a great spot for a nice dinner or night cap. Can’t say enough about how amazing the food was

The beef short rib tacos were amazing! Tortillas tasted homemade and authentic. Service was incredibly quick and our server was very attentive. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a taste of Mexico in Boston.

I initially liked the outdoor dining space, until I had to sit at a too small no leg room table. The service was spotty. We ordered margaritas 2/5 (weak), guacamole and chips 3/5, and duck and chicken enchiladas 4/5.

D
Derek

Warning! 22% tip-included! I recommend the Tuna Tostada, Guacamole, and the Carne Asada (which is really just skirt steak). Chicken and enchilada big plates were dry and not very memorable. Ceviche was a bit too salty and the Duck & Pork Carnitas is mostly pork. Like a more up-scale, Mexican-version of Barcelona Wine Bar, this restaurant’s interior is even darker and slightly jungly in a fun, chaotic way. The ambience felt ideal for our group of 5 as the place can get pretty loud. Service was solid, but don’t let the waitress fool you. 2 small plates and 1 large plate (as seen on menu) is plenty enough for 2 people. Ended up ordering too much and had to take some home. All the food was pretty good for Boston standards - definitely not authentic but had a slight twist in ingredients to traditional flavors that made the steep price feel slightly more justifiable. Cocktails were quite sweet and not very strong but pairs well with the salty/greasiness of the food. Not bad. Overall, glad I tried it out, but it’ll probably be a while before I come here again.

Nice Mexican restaurant nestled by the lobby of The Revolution Hotel. While my experience with the food left me with mixed emotions, the guacamole stood out as a perfect delight, particularly enhanced by the addition of pumpkin seeds. However, the tacos fell short of expectations in terms of quality, flavor, and portion size, failing to justify their price point. Despite its spacious layout and lots of seating, the restaurant was crowded, especially on a Friday night, so my recommendation is make reservations in advance. The bar service was notably impressive, earning an A+ rating, while the outdoor patio, although lovely, remained deserted due to the chilly weather. The establishment accepts credit cards.

If you’re looking for a casual place to eat Mexican food then Cosmica is the place for you. The atmosphere makes it a very inviting place. Food: We had the swordfish tacos and enjoyed them. They had a spicy kick to them. The margaritas were good especially when you substitute a better tequila than their house tequila. Atmosphere: Nice indoor and outdoor seating with a bar inside. Our waiters were kind and the bar staff were awesome! It’s better to sit at the bar than the tables because of the personable bartenders. Price: This place does get expensive especially if you order drinks with your meal. It can be a big pricey for what you’re getting. Parking: On street parking can be found but it is Boston so you’re probably better off ubering there like we did.

We are from Thailand, with our own Mexican joint. So to some extent, our lens is a bit tainted. Place was empty when we walked in, and in Thailand people just walk to an open table. In this case though, no can do, hostess has to sit you in an open restaurant. Music was far too loud. No blended lime margaritas on offer, but the bartendar whipped us up some fresh on the rocks margs. Excellent, with a very strong but balanced tequila. Margs were the highlight. Food came in less than 5 min, sometimes a good sign, sometimes a bad sign. Chips and salsa - chips were huge basket, the tomato salsa had decent flavor, but the green salsa was bland. We dumped salt everywhere. Al Pastor tacos were fine, albeit tiny. Proper corn tortillas, fresh pineapple and (we think) some type of cilantro. Needed raw onions, and more al pastor flavoring. Throw in some Mexican beans side dish for nothing and make the customer feel value!! Even some cheap mexican rice would be good. Short rib tacos were fine, but again, very high (for us) pricing. Very nicely decorated place, and service was very prompt, friendly, and professional. All in all? Just didn't feel value, and the food didn't muster up to the prices. There is a huge bar, and we suspect slightly adjust portions, flavor and prices this place could be amazing.

Quite a disappointing experience! First and last time going there. First off, parking is a hassle. It is very limited 1hr or 2hr street parking. The place has a nice ambience but the AC is directly on some seats. Hostess was very welcoming. The food is just ok but quite pricy. Here are the main issues: Our waiter started with asking about drinks. We chose margaritas but then he asked with what tequila we want them and he recommended something himself. Guess what we ended up paying 46 dollars for two drinks. It went from 31 to 46 and he did not inform us about this. This was just the beginning. Then for main dishes we ordered a bunch including steak fajitas which on its own was 39. He suggested to add black beans and rice and we agreed. We were charged another 10 for that so 49 dollars for a fajitas dish!!! We asked for lemonade and he said what flavor and suggested strawberry and ended up adding an extra 2 dollars for that. Bottom line very dishonest and tricky business. I called the restaurant after to complain and the manager gave me 20 dollars refund. Oh one last thing. The shrimp was not cleaned properly and the guts were still in! Photo is included.

As a person who has immense patience, this restaurant tested it. I arrived at 7:52 pm at the restaurant and sat down with menus. I kept trying to get a server who was taking orders of people around me who sat down after me or tables next to me who clearly had no notion of ordering anything else. At 8:05 pm, I was yet to see my server and I got frustrated and waved who I believe is the restaurant owner or hostess down. She apologized and comped a free basket of chips and salsa. Our server finally came soon after and asked for my order to which I told them that someone else has taken it. When our chips and salsa arrived, the server told the bus person that we didn’t order it and sent the person back. I had to tell them that we did and our server said that’s not ours. I then reminded our server that it was comped by the manager/hostess. This poor service continued throughout the evening despite the restaurant getting less busy. We asked for waters and had to ask it 3-5 times. We needed drinks and would physically have to get up and wave them down which was shocking because the same server would ask the tables next to us if they needed anything. The whole experience was incredibly off putting. I totally get it when there is a busy restaurant. But you have bus people around who could help you with water or when they go up to you to say that we needed attention, instead of being distracted by another table who waved you down, don’t make us wait for another 5 minutes. Or be courteous enough to tell us that you’ll be right with us. When the restaurant became less busy, our server was still pretty MIA. Perhaps the food was decent. The food arrived incredibly fast which is the only reason I’m giving this review 2 stars . But from this entire experience, I am not returning back to Cósmica because the food was not mind blowing and likely soured by such poor management of their staff to be good at their jobs. I was close to not leaving a tip for our table but in this economy , that would not be fair on the wait staff.

Honestly, I don’t even understand how this place has a 4.7 rating. We came here for dinner on a wednesday night only because a couple of other restaurants we stopped by in the area were full. The atmosphere is very spacious and large compared to the usual south end restaurants. But they were clearly understaffed and we ended up waiting more than 10 mins between each order, even for a simple bag of chips and guac.. We got a margharita and a tulum royale, the cocktails are good but not impressive. Chips and guac were also ok, the mushroom and spinach quesadilla was also good. What came to the table to be chicken fajitas was everything but a fajita. Came on a plate and wasnt even warm, served with a side of salad and onion rings instead of grilled peppers and onions. Service is super slow even though the place is leas than half full. Above everything, the menu was not good, overpriced and tried too hard to be different.

S
Shailja Singh

Reserved a table a week in advance and yet were assigned window seating (no back rest & limited counter space) which made the entire experience uncomfortable. The food was great and service quick which we appreciated but the seating ruined it tbh.

M
Mohit Tamta

The food was a big let-down and insipid. They cut corners in serving good Mexican food, including very small portion sizes, charging extra for a sad tostada with ceviche, or serving a tres leches cake with mostly cream and a super thin layer of actual cake. The flavors were not bold, and the hot sauce served on the side could only do so much to save the food.

T
T M

It’s frustrating to pay $17 for a cocktail (which comes to around $22 after tax and tip) and end up with mostly a glass of ice. The drink was so watered down and small it felt like a rip-off. What’s even more frustrating is that when I brought it up to the waitress, she completely ignored the complaint. Honestly, the disappointment overshadowed everything else, I couldn’t even enjoy the rest of the experience.

C
Christian Rudder

Overpriced to the gills, it's like fine dining meets mexican food, so the portions are extremely small and pretentious. Went here with friends for some drinks, 17 dollars + tax for ice water, and the appetizers were vegtebles with sauces on them $12+ (pretentious). Easily something you could make yourself for a dollar. Fine dining is about skill, not about throwing stuff on a plate.

P
Paige Dickie

If I could leave zero stars I would. These people told us we were not allowed to order drinks even though we walked in the restaurant 30 seconds ago. I’m honestly not sure what we did but this place has terrible service. I would recommend never going

P
PAT DOUGHERTY

We ordered 3 different dishes, one was underwhelming and the other 2 were unbeatable. The esquites were 3 quarters of funky cheese and not eatable. The ceviche was underprepared possibly undercooked. The sauce was too harsh to eat so much onion and garlic. We ordered different dishes because weren’t satisfied with the first one and then all others were terrible. Definitely overpriced and proportions were very small.
