First impression was amazing, won’t be my last time here! Attended a large private party upstairs in an area with a mix of indoor and outdoor seating and mingling space, beautiful & sophisticated surroundings, party atmosphere with upbeat music, friendly wandering waiters offering apps, beautifully presented self-serve raw bar and sushi complete with fresh lobster tails, fun and tasty custom cocktails, and a large variety of hot foods served buffet style.
This restaurant impressed on multiple levels. The food was exceptional, with each dish offering a distinct and memorable experience. The Shrimp Cocktail was a perfect starter - generous in size and boasting perfectly tender shrimp. The Seared Chilean Sea Bass was the clear highlight of the meal. The combination of perfectly cooked fish with flavorful fried rice and crab was inspired. The Filet Mignon deserves a mention as well. While slightly on the salty side, it was undeniably delicious - a testament to the quality of the cut. Beyond the food, the service truly shined. The staff was exceptionally professional, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.
My fiance and I had a spectacular wedding shower here on a perfect Saturday afternoon in July. The cocktail lounge makes the perfect venue for hosting an event. We worked with the events coordinator Amanda who was incredibly responsive and on top of every detail from start to finish. Amanda ensured the afternoon went flawless. All our guests were incredibly impressed by the service, the food and the drinks. The bartenders Ally and Victoria couldn't have been more attentive and engaging to everyone in the room. They went way above and beyond to ensure everyone was having a great time! It was everything that I could have ever envisioned for the absolute most perfect day! Thank you! Mike & Derek
We drove over one hour to dine there because the last time was great . We ordered the meatballs as appetizers but fell flat on that one. Our server Nicole took it upon herself to notify the manager who was kind enough to offer options. But baby!!!!! The meal itself was “ banging, finger licking good, slap your mama”. The chef made sure we had no complaints!! We enjoyed it so much that we planned our next trip there. We had filet mignon, lambs, mac and cheese, spinach, mashed potatoes.. even the bread made a statement
Best filet I ever had. Service was excellent.
I had a wonderful experience at Del Friscos! The ambiance was delightful, and it was the perfect spot for my birthday celebration. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right, allowing my mom to decorate the table with birthday napkins and decorations. To kick off the meal, they presented a sizzling pan of delectable buttery rolls - a word of caution: they're so good that you might want to save room for the main course! Exploring the appetizers, I decided to try their Shanghai-Style Fried Calamari, and it was truly a revelation. Despite not being a seafood enthusiast, I was pleasantly surprised by them. Unlike the usual breaded and fried versions, these were coated in a delightful sweet chili glaze, which made them incredibly flavorful. I also tried the wedge salad, which was refreshing and satisfying. Moving on to the main event, I opted for the prime porterhouse steak. The cut was fantastic, with well-rendered fat that enhanced the overall flavor. As a personal weakness for creamed corn, I couldn't resist ordering it as a side, along with the Brussels sprouts. All in all, Del Friscos provided an exceptional dining experience. From the warm atmosphere to the attentive staff and mouthwatering dishes, it was a birthday celebration to remember.
Came here for restaurant week! Better than expected:) for entree we ordered prime strip and it was perfectly cooked! Desserts were also amazing especially the Belgian chocolate mousse! Service is also very nice. Tremendous dining experience!
Wonderful experience at Del Frisco’s! We were seated right away and our waiter, Tom, was very welcoming and took great care of us. I tried the signature VIP cocktail which was delicious. The lobster bisque is also one of the best I’ve had, and you can never go wrong with their Caesar salad either. My salmon, Oscar style with lump crabmeat on top, was amazing and cooked perfectly. The meats were also seasoned right and served with delicious sauces. 5 stars!
An all-around excellent meal. Thankfully I wasn’t paying for it. Started off with crabcakes, which were delicious with very little filler. Then a tomato and burrata salad with a very generous helping of cheese. The sea bass was delicious, albeit a tad small on the serving size. The wine list is beyond extensive. Sommelier was friendly and helpful, although a bit too quick to attack the expensive end of the spectrum. Finished up with a shared dessert platter, with the chocolate mousse being the highlight despite the waiter promising the butter cake was to die for. Service was great, although not exceptional. Sat with an empty water glass for at least 15 minutes. I’m not a carnivore; however, must admit that the steaks my companions ordered looked amazing.
The family was in town to get away from pandemic misery and this place doesn’t disappoint. Pineapple infused vodka was sinfully good, thick cut bacon and porterhouse were just perfect. The butter cake IMO is a must have with cappuccino.
Dinner was amazing there. Antonio was our server and he was AMAZING! Antonio made our experience there that much better. Considering it was our first time there. We got the 45 days dry-aged steak and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked! I also ordered a drink called "The VIP" and that was really good too.
Made reservations a little over a month ago for 3/6/22 at the Seaport Location unfortunately there was a small kitchen fire so they called us to inform and cancel our reservations but they were nice enough to make new reservations for us same day and time at the Prudential location and it was amazing! Sarah was our server and she was phenomenal it was our anniversary and first time there we got the table tasting for Two which was $199 and it was great portions! the food was amazing!! definitely would go back again ! thank you again to sarah!
LOVED our experience here. Their dine out boston menu was actually so good compared to other restaurants that participated. I got the filet mignon. It was cooked perfectly and the potatoes were amazing. The service was absolutely wonderful and so was the ambiance. Will definitely be returning. Oh and the bread was AMAZING
Unusual, cute layout, with a very wide selection of wines. Excellent quality of meat and a lobster cream suiting the windy winter weather. Unbeatable. Very professional service
Found this high end steakhouse tucked in to the side of the Prudential center on Friday night. Was walking around with my 2 kids and couldn't find anywhere to eat. Walked in and found very lovely hosts who welcomed us to very cozy seating. Along with our initial order of drinks, a very warm loaf of bread with creamy butter was served, it was scrumptious! I had a well described whiskey cocktail that I didn't remember the name of, very unique in taste I ended up drinking 2. I ordered a 16oz bone in filet finished by Wagyu butter. Have eaten at most fine steakhouses but this butter was what I've been searching for when it comes to fatty texture and flavor marrying a lean cut of filet. Can't remember how the butter was prepared entirely but it had to do with the delicate pieces of fat liberated from wagyu steaks. 16 oz was a bit too much for me but somehow it found its way into my stomach, must have been the cocktail that made it disappear. The "kids" 15 and 10 enjoyed filet medallions with mashed potatoes and greens. These 2 never finish a plate of food because they are light eaters and tonight was an exception. The manager Kate came by who made sure we were satisfied with the meal, we were very satisfied. Next time back in Boston, this is where I am headed back to first!
Their salmon and appetizers are so good. Beef bruchetta was so yummy. Chocolate Mousse is also so good. They have a variety of wines, and the place is so nice. Crowded but worth to dine it here.
We came for Done Out Boston and had a blast. We had the lobster bisque and the caesar saladnfor appetizer, the 8 oz filet mignon for main, and the cheesecake and the Belgian chocolate mousse for dessert. Steak (what I came for) was really good and the staff took attention to make sure it was cooked to right tenderness. Someone in our table had a steak that was slightly overcooked and they took it back immediately. Just keep in mind that steak is cooked slight more rare than what you might be used. Lobster bisque had a decent amount of lobsters and the desserts were really good. We also had the VIP cocktails which was also well received. All in all, this was a good experience and we'd go back for non-restaurant week occasions.
Celebrated our first major meal since the pandemic started. They made a clear effort to keep everyone safe, and I felt really good about it - tables were very well spaced, and staff was all masked. Our meal was amazing, and the service was outstanding. Definitely a splurge, but worth it. Everything we had was terrific. Get. The. Butter Cake!!
Had a Ribeye steak. It was the best Ribeye I've ever had! The service was absolutely wonderful and so was the ambiance. This restaurant is well worth the trip.
Very nice. Peaceful and modern. Expect to impress a date by taking them here! Staff was great. Polite. Professional. And willing to banter playfully. Job well done!
The cauliflower steak and mushrooms were superb. The butter cake dessert was out of this world!!
Delicious steaks and appetizers. We tried several dishes in multiple occasions but i think the lamb is one of the best. Dont miss the change to try some of the sides, even the simple ones taste really good. For dessert we had the cheesecake and we loved it. A variety of cocktails also avaible. Ideal for couples!
Had dinner there last night and was very very nice. The restaurant was beautiful and the staff were great. Definitely worth going for a meal.
We had the mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts for starters and different types of steak each. Everything was amazingly delicious, also the cheesecake was extraordinary!
Their 32oz dry-aged ribeye arrives sizzling with that perfect char I crave. The creamed spinach uses fresh local greens and real cream – no shortcuts. What keeps me coming back is how the chef personally checks every steak before it leaves the kitchen. The bartender makes an old-fashioned with house-smoked cherries that’s worth visiting for alone.
I want to give a big shout out to the team here at Del Frisco’s. We Held a large educational dinner event in one of the private rooms and everything went perfectly. Ryan- Thank you for your support. Jess and the other wait staff were fantastic. We will be definitely holding future dinner events at this location 10 out of 10!!
Del Friscos at the Prudential Center has become my favorite upscale steakhouse in Boston. It’s a beautiful restaurant, with extremely comfortable booths, excellent food and attentive service. It’s pricey but, as they say, you get what you pay for - and if you want to feel totally pampered and deliciously satisfied, give it a try. The wine list is extensive, leaning more towards reds as the menu would suggest - the waiters are knowledgeable and helpful if you’re interested in trying something new. Their rib eye is to die for - perfectly marbled and cooked to order. My boyfriend loved his strip steak. We shared a couple of side dishes as well as an appetizer. Everything is always delicious here - there really are no wrong choices. I never have room for dessert so can not comment on those lol. A great special occasion or date night destination!
Our group of 10 had dinner here 4th of July weekend and it was a really good experience. The filet with garlic butter was unreal - perfectly cooked and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were excellent, and the lobster mac was rich and delicious. The asparagus was cooked just right too. Felipe was an awesome server who took great care of our large group. He was attentive and made sure everyone had what they needed throughout the meal. Manager Jack stopped by our table and was very personable and friendly. It's nice when management takes the time to check in with guests, especially when they hit you with a great wine recommendation. The food quality was top-notch and the service was excellent. Del Frisco's lived up to its reputation as a quality steakhouse. We'll definitely be back for future occasions.
Del Frisco's, you disappointed me. The service was fine as we were the only 3 people in the dining space for almost 3 hours. The apps were OK, I wasn't impressed. The Oysters Rockefeller, wouldn't order them again. One of my friends asked for it prepared without bacon and she said it was so salty, she couldn't eat it. The salad was good. The meatballs were OK. The spinach and broccolini were good. My steak was good. One of my friends ordered the salmon and said it was so salty she couldn't eat it. My other friend ordered the Chilean sea bass and crab fried rice, and she said the rice was salty. Mind you, this friend usually adds salt to her food.... Management was really nice and handled everything properly. My Dear Chef, salt is not the only seasoning. Happy Holidays!
I have to say, this is the first time I've been to a restaurant specializing in steak ( Capitol Grille, Morton's, Red Tavern ect), that actually can cook a steak and it being well made and seasoned!!! My food was, hands down, delicious!!! Our server was excellent. The only thing is, it's extremely pricey. It was my baby's birthday so it didn't matter.
This place was good but we felt it was a bit over priced for what we actually got. It's great place for an upscale dining experience, the seafood Tower when we ordered was very small portions probably the smallest lobster tail I've ever seen and it was cut in half so I would not reccomend it. You can't go wrong with any of the steaks and sides. Those were delicious. We did not have room for dessert but were told the butter cake is where it is at.
I am a freelance food reviewer for the greater Boston. I write food/ restaurant reviews and send recommendations to private members clubs in different areas of Boston. I had the swordfish which was pretty good. The waiter I believe her name was Zaiana was amazing! Great food and wine recommendations, continuously checked to see how everything was, she was awesome. However the manager, Rebecca took my to go food away before I had a chance to say I wanted a to go box. A bit awkward didn’t know who she was, she never introduced herself but took away my plate. I had to ask the host for her name.
Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse, Back Bay Nestled in the heart of Boston's Prudential Center, Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse boasts a reputation for its exquisite steaks and opulent seafood offerings. Anticipation was high for a dining experience that promised culinary excellence. While the meal itself lived up to expectations, an unsettling service experience unfortunately cast a long shadow over the evening, highlighting a critical area of concern in the realm of hospitality and inclusivity. Culinary Highs: The evening began on a high note with the VIP Drink, a testament to the art of cocktail-making that beautifully balanced flavor and potency. This delightful concoction set the stage for a memorable meal. Appetizers: Our journey commenced with a customizable seafood tower: - King Crab: Served either chilled or warmed, We chose the steamed option offering a transcendent taste experience. - Tuna Tartare: Enhanced by caviar and a shrimp chip, this dish was a symphony of flavors, recommended heartily by our server. - Oysters: Though delicious, the selection felt limited, leaving us yearning for more. - Shrimp Cocktail: Well-prepared, yet lacking the distinctiveness to elevate it above the standard fare. Main Courses: - Porterhouse Steak: This dish stood out as a highlight, surpassing similar offerings at renowned establishments. - A5 Wagyu 6oz: Despite its tenderness, the lack of warmth detracted from the overall enjoyment, hinting at better alternatives elsewhere. Accompaniments + Dessertss - Creamed Corn and Loaded Baked Potato distinguished themselves as exceptional sides. - The Butter Cake, particularly with strawberry sauce, ended our meal on a sublime note, its crispy edges crafting a memorable dessert experience. A Moment of Discomfort Yet, it was not the culinary journey but a singular service incident that defined the evening. Ellen, a hostess, approached our table with a request exclusively directed at me, asking for the removal of my hat in adherence to the restaurant's policy. This request, seemingly mundane, was laden with discomfort upon realization that it was selectively applied. My dining companion, similarly attired but not subjected to the same scrutiny, and other patrons, unnoticed by the policy enforcement, underscored a painful disparity. This selective enforcement was particularly stinging, as it seemed to underscore my identity as both Asian and gay, a perception that Ellen's approach inadvertently emphasized. The ensuing interaction, or rather the lack of a meaningful one, with Ellen and the delayed engagement with management, did little to assuage the feeling of being unjustly singled out in an environment that should champion inclusivity and respect above all. But please note when the management did arrive she was delightful and understanding. I exclaimed to her my reason for speaking with her was not for any type of compensation but to share my experience as I would never want anyone else to experience this type of service when spending $$$$. Reflections on Hospitality This experience at Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse serves as a poignant reminder of the critical importance of equitable treatment and sensitivity within the hospitality industry. A restaurant's reputation is built not only on the quality of its cuisine but also on the caliber of its service and the warmth of its welcome to all guests, irrespective of their background or identity. In conclusion, while the dishes served at Del Frisco's were a testament to culinary expertise, the evening was overshadowed by a moment that highlighted the essential need for greater awareness, training, and commitment to inclusivity in the service sector. The true measure of a dining experience lies not only in the enjoyment of the meal but in feeling valued and respected throughout the encounter.
We went there during dineout Boston. The appetizer steak eggroll was good. Steak could have been better. The main reason I am taking out stars is for their late service. It was very slow.
Large space. Good atmosphere. Big tasty steaks. The tuna appetizer was delicious. The food is good. Though the service was too slow. And the steak presentation was not imaginative at all, a dark piece of meat on a white plate!
I tried Del Frisco for the fist time. We ordered the double eagle and a lobster tail. Honestly, both dishes are not the best in Boston and totally not worth their price. I would give it another try though, probably with a different entree. The service is amazing and the staff is nice. We had a perfect caesar salad on the house while waiting for the steak!
I’ve been 2x now and each time I’ve been disappointed. Way too much butter on sides and steak, not enough seasoning. Steak was medium rare and didn’t come out piping hot, just warm. Some potatoes weren’t cooked all the way through in the potatoes au gratin. I’ve had better service and experience at other restaurants in the area. The steak isn’t as good as other locations either. I won’t be coming back to this location.
Our experience was not the best. We ordered a beer and a few mixed drinks that were good, which is why we rated higher than a 1 or 2. The service was different than expected. No cracked pepper offered on soup or salad. I asked for ranch with the wedge salad and was told there was no ranch, then when asked what kind of dressings they have, they mentioned avocado ranch. The bread is good, as well as the lobster bisque. We ordered the surf and turf trio and the lobster tail as our main dishes. The filet was tender but seemed like it had been marinating for too long as it was very chewy. The lobster was overcooked and rubbery. The lobster was also not served with a side of butter. Overall I would not suggest this restaurant, due to the quality of food not matching the price.
I went here a few days ago. I will say that my friend was told rude and disparaging comments about her “facial expressions” among arrival with one of the hosts. She was told that she looked “mean” and “unwelcoming”. That is extremely unprofessional, uncalled for and rude. I had never been to Del Fresco’s and felt absolutely horrible for the person I was with. There is no need to make comments about someone’s facial expressions in a fine dining experience, especially from the host. Aside from those negative remarks, our server that night was incredible, attentive and extremely friendly. The food was delicious and the drinks were good as well. I would encourage the host that was hosting on Friday, the 2nd around 8:30pm to not tell guests that they “need to change their mean face”. It’s is simply unnecessary, especially given that the host is solely responsible for walking us to the table. No one wants to feel uncomfortable when they are dining.
I was treated to a fine dining experience and chose this place. It was a waste of money. I'd rather brought groceries. Service was so slow, took apps forever to come out, fried calamari (which was frozen) and 4 shrimp cocktail. I ate all the bread waiting so long. Entrees took as long. When they got to the table, we took it to go. The manager was pleasant.
Good service, not pretty well quality in an experience in restaurant week. We went there in Boston restaurant weeks, ordering 3-course meals with lobster soup (not original name), steak and desserts. The soup was sooo salty that was hardly to drink even after we added much water! I'm not sure if it's the usual taste or just on that day. Besides, while we ordered 3 medium steak, only one of those we got was medium. One looked like medium well, the other was well. The restaurant gave us another after we complained, but it was an half-medium-well half-medium rare one! Finally, the desserts (cheese cake and chocolate moose) were huge size and sweet--- not too bad for those who like sugar. Maybe this was just a rare case. After all it was an restaurant week order (while it was not really busy at the time). But I might not go there again.
The food is ok, but the service isn’t!! We had to wait for an unreasonable amount of time to get our tap water.. the bread and butter never arrived.. they got our appetizers and drinks all wrong, our Diet Coke wasn’t diet (and it took more than 30min to get us the diet ones).. we dined for 1.5hr and saw our server (Jamila) only twice; she never checked on us after she took our order! We had to leave the table and look for someone to help us, three times (for fixing our drinks, to get the bread and butter, and for the check); the place wasn’t even that busy!!! The food was barely warm... Not great value for the money ($247 for two) .. we won’t be back. The lettuce wedge looks good, though!
Drinks and apps were great! Ordered the $73 bone-in strip. What arrived was an $18 stop n shop sirloin, over seasoned to try and cover it up. When asked, the server ensure me this was a strip… very depressIng
My wife and I have been to several Del Frisco's locations over the years, specifically the one near the World Trade Center at the waterfront. Most times our experience has been positive but not at the Back Bay location. My wife's steak was not cooked as she asked. How does an expensive steak house do that? Also, when I asked for a list of beers, I was asked "what do I like?" I went along even though I hate it when someone can't just tell me what's on tap. Save your money and go to Abe and Louies across the street.
I went to Del Frisco’s Back Bay with a friend for a late Sunday lunch. We sat at the bar — the bartender was friendly, and his food and wine recommendations were great. Unfortunately, something happened that completely overshadowed the experience. While drinking water, I suddenly felt something sharp in my mouth. It was a piece of glass. When I looked at the bottom of the glass, I saw more small glass shards inside. it was truly frightening, especially since I wasn’t sure if I had swallowed any. This is not what you'd expect from a high-end restaurant like Del Frisco’s. Accidents happen, but something this dangerous should never slip through. I hope they take this seriously and put better safety checks in place,no one should have to worry about their safety while dining here.
As a business owner myself (as well as a Landry's club member,) I know the impact that a poor review can have on current and future customers, but after receiving no response from Landry's corporate, I feel it is necessary to share our experience at this location. This dinner was a special welcome back to college for my son and some of his friends. We encountered a close to empty restaurant on the night before Sept 1 move in - should have been red flag #1. We chose this Landry’s restaurant as we were intrigued by the Labor Day Special that was listed on the website. As the table ordered this special, we received a blank stare from the waiter. He brought the manager over, who informed us that this special was not eligible at the Boston Back Bay location. We pulled up the website, which stated " This promotion excludes the Orlando location." The manager continued to explain that the Boston Back Bay was not eligible for this promotion. As we had my son’s college friends with us, we refrained from pushing the issue. The evening continued to go downhill from there: 1. My sons’s appetizer was brought well after the other appetizers had been eaten. 2. My steak was not cooked as ordered (Pittsburgh rare) and the server never followed up on the temps of any of the steaks at the table. 3. Plates were cleared before the entire table was finished eating. 4. The restaurant started closing procedures for the evening (removing linens, vacuuming floors) an hour before closing and before we had finished our meal. Over $800 was spent on this poorly executed meal at a supposed “upscale steak house”. What a disappointing way to start the school year.
Beautiful location, poor execution. Beautiful Wagyu steak was contaminated with salt. Calamari, drenched in hot sauce, was like chewing rubber bands. Tuna was overcooked and under-dressed with dollops of mayonnaise. Less and fresh is more. Second time to this location with same impression: too big, too busy to do things right.
While dining at this location, I experienced a serious sanitation issue. I saw a mouse twice, both times right next to my feet. This is completely unacceptable for any restaurant, especially one operating at this price point. I immediately notified management, and their response was horrible. There was no sense of urgency, accountability, or genuine concern for the situation. Despite the severity of the sanitary issue, we were still charged in full for the appetizers and drinks( I didn’t want to eat the main plate as it was disgustingly to see a mouse after having appetizers). On top of that, the service was horrible throughout the evening, further compounding an already disturbing experience. This reflects not just a one-off issue, but very poor management and standards. I strongly recommend that people stay away from this location to avoid a similar experience.
I recently visited this restaurant and unfortunately my dining experience was interrupted by a noticeable presence of gnats/fruit flies around the table and food area. It was distracting and made it difficult to fully enjoy the meal. That said, the service itself was okay. The staff was polite and attentive, and my order was handled correctly. However, cleanliness is a major part of the dining experience, and this issue significantly impacted my visit. I hope management addresses the pest problem promptly, as this location has the potential to provide a much better experience with proper attention to sanitation.
I want to start by saying that our server was amazing and the food was excellent, as expected from Del Frisco’s. The service at the table was attentive, professional, and enjoyable. Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience with the African American host upon arrival.(don’t remember her name) but I was told that I needed to smile, that I “looked mean,” and that my friend had a more pleasant face. This was completely inappropriate and caught me off guard. You never know what someone may be going through and at the time, I was dealing with the loss of a loved one. Comments about a guest’s facial expression are unnecessary and unprofessional, especially in a fine dining environment. I have never experienced anything like this before at a restaurant, and it left a bad impression despite the otherwise great experience thanks to our server. Overall, the food and server were wonderful, but this interaction with the host was disappointing and took away from what should have been a great evening.
