Me and my dad were looking for a place and stumbled upon this Mexican restaurant. First impressions were phenomenal. We were greeted a warm welcome (literally since it's so cold outside) and amazing, polite staff. The food was quick and delicious. I don't think we waited more than 10 mins for food. The entire time, our waiter/waitress checks in with us to make sure everything tasted good and if we need anything. I ahve no complaints. We couldn't have asked for more. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for good food, good prices and amazing staff!

Opinionated Scents

I enjoyed the food here. You have to pay for certain substitutions that aren't charged for at many other restaurants which annoyed me but I love their take on ceviche. It's sweet versus citrusy. I'd like to see beans and rice added to my favorite meals, lbvs. The margarita price is phenomenal. We'll definitely be back! I forgot to take pictures.

The food was hot and delicious. I got a small margarita and it was the perfect size. Took my kids and the kids meals were the perfect portion! Will eat there again. Very reasonably priced. They were really busy but I waited less than 5 mins for my table and had awesome service.

We came on a very busy night, so service was understandably slow. However, the waiter was very nice and the food was super delicious. Would recommend and will be returning.

We eat Mexican once a week. We are dog sitting and this place was recommended for margaritas. Well... our server was the bartender as well and we got our putcher halfway through our meal. There was 5 of us, and they used the handheld order pad. And evidently it, or the server wasnt able to keep up even though when he said multiple times please wait. Every order was wrong and had to be adapted after being brought to the table. The marg.... ehh.. not as good as back home. Wouldn't return

Our drink orders were taken promptly but we had to ask for refills because our waitress never came back after order was taken. My daiquiri only tasted of lime and not the flavor I ordered. Couldn't complain because she never came back. Food portions were superb but the food lacked flavor. The restaurant automatically adds a 20 percent tip to the bill if over 5 people. We have 4 children and were slapped with this undeserved tip. The sign says we were welcome to add more for superb service, but really less should have been given. That would have required us arguing with the waitress or the front staff since we paid cash. We will not be returning to El Rancho. You want 20 percent, you must earn it.

Ordered from Uber eats they came promptly actually early. Everything was hot and the portions were good the only thing is I ordered a chimichanga with beef tips and I got chicken I spent a lot and didn't get what I want.

Went for a first date. Not impressed. Waiter told us because of several big parties we wouldn’t get our food for 25 minutes. we ordered 3 items. Got our food in 10 minutes so that was a plus. Ordered rice, queso dip and a quesadilla. Forgot the queso dip. Was checked on twice. Got the check and queso dip was on the check. Server was definitely not wanting to work that night, he made it extremely obvious. Will not be back, will take our business somewhere else.

I ate here with friends the other night and had a disappointing experience. The food was pretty good but at the time to pay, the woman checking us out skipped through the screen that showed the breakdown of our items to the tip screen that gave us the option to tip 18, 20, or 22 percent. We each tipped 20 percent but I noticed that my total seemed too high compared to the item prices on the menu. On the way out, I asked for a receipt so I could see the breakdown myself because it wasn’t offered, and we found out that there was a hidden 20 percent gratuity added for parties 5 or larger. Now I have no problem with auto gratuities (even though for 5 people it is unconventional), however we weren’t ever told about it by either the server or the woman checking us out. The woman checking us out said that it’s the responsibility of the server to tell us, but it really should be made clear by both people. The tip options should reflect it as well. In my experience if there is an auto gratuity, the tip options are 3, 5, or 7 percent usually. However I can understand that they cannot always control these machines. At the VERY least, the person checking us out should show us the breakdown of the totals. There is a small sign when you walk in that mentions it, but if you missed the sign like we did, there is no other way to know that this hidden fee is added. I am not sure if it was because we’re young and they thought we wouldn’t be able to catch it, but it is a very shady and misleading practice so that servers can get more tips. I called this morning and they did refund the additional tip, so props to them for making it right, but I wanted to leave a review warning future guests to pay close attention to your order totals and ensure they reflect the correct prices. I can only hope that the restaurant speaks to their staff about this so that it doesn't happen again to other unsuspecting guests. It is important in the restaurant industry to be transparent about these service charges!

My husband brought food home for me. Beef Enchiladas, rice, refried beans with cheese. The food is very Americanized, There was about 10 oz of cheese and a carton of sour cream dumped on the enchiladas. It was impossible to taste the enchiladas. My husband loved his food, because he prefers Americanized Mexican or TexMex food. I do not. I prefer authentic Mexican food.

If I could give this less than one star I would.....the ONLY reason to come here is their giant margaritas which you will need because the food is so bad that you need to be drunk in order to eat their bland, fried in old oil food. We waited an hour and a half to be seated so we can get disappointed. I expected better considering the ratings....

Ordered Yolandas Enchiladas. The chicken was boiled and did not have a gram of seasoning to it. The enchiladas were drowned in sauce to hide from the fact that they don't season the food. My daughter's fries and nuggets were so dark from bad cooking oil that they looked burnt and smelled and tasted like tortilla chip. The drinks (soda and water, not booze) tasted like they came from the garden hose when you were a kid. Go somewhere else. This place is only good if you're too hammered from the 47 ounce margaritas to notice the food is trash. Update; I received a response from the restaurant accusing me of defaming the restaurant. Kind of funny that someone who reviews a restaurant can't be taken "seriously" and that because I don't have an "actual" name, that your food doesn't suck. Clearly you lack the grace and understanding that someone may not list their name on Google for personal security reasons. Your response to me just seals the deal. You've shown your true colors and now everyone on the I ternet can see it. Good luck getting any customers when they see how you respond to them when they don't like your food. By the way, to prove how serious I am about your restaurant, you should see my yelp review. My review stands, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

PSA- do not go to this restaurant! The staff have horrible customer service and the management has horrible customer relations. I’ve been there 3x and every time the staff have an immediate attitude or ignore me completely. My orders are always incorrect. The staff treat me as if I’m not a paying customer and when I did speak with a manager the heavy set waitress laughed and made racial comments. I will never go back to this restaurant and they should be ashamed! Do not support this restaurant or the ownership.

Ordered for the first time over the weekend, and honestly, calling the food bland and dry is an understatement. We were excited to try it after seeing so many great reviews, but the meal was a total letdown. The tacos came with huge chunks of plain boiled chicken—no flavor, not even a pinch of salt—on soggy tortillas. We ended up taking all the meat out, seasoning it ourselves, and basically remaking the tacos from scratch. For $88, it was really disappointing to have to fix our own food just to make it edible. (Also the chips were fried in old oil causing a very off putting taste)

my family placed a pick up order through grubhub and we needed to make a change on the order. when one of my family members called to try and change one of the item, the person on the phone walked away and my family was left on hold for 15 minutes. to be honest, i think the person on the phone didn’t completely understand english, which is fine, i just think they need to find someone who is fluent in english on the phone so there’s no communication issues. the guy on the phone wasn’t rude but we were clearly explaining our order, and another family member was in front of him there to pick up the order and she was explaining our situation. he was acting like we didn’t have an order at all, and wasn’t communicating with us. we will not be eating here anymore.

My family came here on 9/20, our waiter was kind as well as the other staff members we interacted with. The only reason for my poor review is that my sister and I are both allergic to dairy and we had asked for our food to be made without any cheese, sour cream or butter, and my sister‘s food came out with cheese and sour cream all over the dish (which they did remake with no complaints). Mine came out and it seems like it was cooked fine, so I ate it however, I soon realized that was not the case when my husband and I left I realized I was starting to become covered in hives, and my throat was swelling due to exposure to dairy. The only thing I had eaten that day was the meal at this restaurant so there is no way that I could’ve been exposed to dairy anywhere else. I wish businesses would take dairy allergies seriously. It is not the same as being lactose intolerant, you can kill someone with such recklessness.
