Breakfast all day is the best for the sleepers, but don't leave without trying the Banana Baileys. Be sure to ask about the spicy dishes, because if you can't tolerate spicy food you may get a big surprise

I love this café, have been many times now. It’s such a peaceful place to have coffee and breakfast while looking at the beach. The food is always delicious and a great price. I like the enchiladas suizas. Also a frioccino, it’s the only place in puerto where I’ve seen this coffee. Delicious!

La comida es deliciosa y de todo tipo. Si amas la comida mexicana o un típico american breakfast, este es el lugar. Los fish tacos son de los mejores que he probado en todo México. Lo mejor de todo es que tiene muchas opciones veganas.

Vistamos el Kelly Café la semana pasado con mis hijas y gato. El café acepto mi gato y hasta me regalaron agua para el. La mesera Jerry y el cocinero Jorge fueron muy amables. Y la comida fue muy rico.

Kelly’s Cafe in Los Tamarindos is an absolute gem and easily one of my favorite spots in Zicatela. Karen and Jerry Lynn make you feel welcome the moment you walk in, and Jorge in the kitchen turns out consistently incredible food — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Everything I’ve tried has been excellent, from breakfast to lunch, and the prices are more than fair for the quality and location. The atmosphere is unbeatable: relaxed, friendly, and literally right on the beach with ocean views that never get old. It’s the kind of place you come for once and then keep coming back to. Great people, great food, great vibes — highly recommend.

We stumbled on this spot on our way to another and I’m so glad we did! Starting with Karen, the owner - she’s the kindest person and was so warm, welcoming, and very attentive. The food - hands down one of the best omelettes I’ve ever had. I did the veggie and my bf did the chorizo and both were delicious. As you can tell in my picture, we dug in so fast and I was mid way before I realized I hadn’t taken a picture, but the portion was huge! Karen made us fresh watermelon juice that was refreshing and helped cool us down. She told us about some exciting plans she has for the spot to expand the menu and bar so definitely plan on coming back to check that out! Highly recommend stopping by!

The ladies were kind enough to help a thirsty ATV driver by making papaya and lime juice . It wasn't even on the menu. Whilst there, I saw someone stop for the Donuts. All in all a brief but very charming visit. Do take a visit and perhaps stay in the rooms since the Café and hotel are right on the beach front!

Ok I just had to write a review cause this place is the best! Located perfectly in between La Punta and Zicatela, where you get a quiet break from the tourism and still it’s a just short walk to both and easy to switch things up and not get board! The owner here is a super host! She cares about her guests and even looks out if your a foreigner… who does that!!! The rooms here are so cute and all you need with A/C, wifi, workstation, mini fridge, communal kitchen and complimentary coffee!!! The vibes here couldn’t be better especially with the balcony view of the ocean… steps away! The prices here are in Mexican Pesos vs US or CAD and way more cheaper for so much more! Totally safe for female or single travellers as they lock the gate at night (which you still have a key to come and go) The café has really good food at great prices also with homemade donuts and a bar to spike up your brunch ;) It’s brand new and there is a bit of construction but I can’t wait to see this amazing boutique hotel with the pool on the roof finished! This place has literally become my home away from home… I don’t wanna leave! Look no further if you’re coming to Puerto Escondido this is the gem of gems!

Kelly Cafe and Marea Royal Hotel became a second family to me. If you are looking for a place to rest, breath and feel at home when you are away from home look no further. Karen ( the owner) has a heart of gold and has made her self a anchor of stability and consistency for travelers that need a small and intimate place to stay. This is not your average big fancy place nor is it a hostel filled with digital nomads; its a place where friendships can grow and people can connect. I look forward to visiting again!

This is a beautiful small hotel with a great location that I highly recommend. The owner and staff are super professional and friendly and go out of their way to give an extra personal touch. This is a really Chill Spot owned by a very sweet lady. You can tell how much she cares for her neighborhood and her couple rentals and Cafe. Service was excellent, food was spot-on. Los platillos nada que ver con las fotos publicadas, son platillos sencillos caseros, atención cordial, no hablan español. Fui por recomendación de Google esperando un platillos digno de una buena foto y sali decepcionado... no tuve suerte....

No veo nada relevante para ir a ese lugar. Menú limitado, porciones pequeñas y lo peor: ¡Sólo hablan inglés! Ni una palabra de español. Un clásico: los extranjeros que vienen a Latinoamérica a vivir y ganar dinero y ni siquiera se esfuerzan por hablar el idioma local.

Pedí el Burrito vegetariano suprime y a mi parecer es increíble que solo estuviese relleno de brócoli y quesillo por 85 pesos, aparte de ser el más caro que he comido en puerto escondido es el más pobre en ingredientes, me parece una real estafa, Nunca más!

Sólo pasamos a desayunar y nada extraordinario, sólo más picosa la comida y los precios están en promedio.

I ordered a BLT sandwich with fried eggs on the side. the man with the tiny ponytail the cooked was angry and Impatient he literally gave me the Mayo to spread on the bread myself I opened the jar and it had dark spots on top the bacon was burnt the lettuce wasn’t fresh the tomatoes were fine, And that’s not the worst part the eggs were undercooked and had a funny smell I also ordered coffee when I asked for honey I got a squeezer bottle with ants and a little honey. The owner Karen apologised for the honey. Know a day after I’m experiencing terrible diarrhoea and puking. Thank you MF’er

We stayed in one of the rooms at Kelly's cafe. Karen, the owner has a vicious dog called Chico that bites people. It bit a customer on the hand and another female customer on the leg (I witnessed it) while we stayed there. It proceeded to attack our small dog who was on a leash when we entered the site one evening. We were then blamed by Karen for chasing it away as we were told it is a guard dog. One of the coffee girls called Kate's response was that it was fine as the dog "did not draw blood". This dog is going to cause some person serious harm if it is continued to be allowed to roam freely all over the place and bite people. One cannot allow for such a liability to exist in a cafe or hotel! It can ruin someone's business if the victim ends up in hospital! I am a doctor and I have treated several dog bites in my life.... Anyone who is remotely afraid of vicious dogs should stay clear. Karen started major building works without any warning. While I was consulting on a zoom call, unbearably loud drilling noise started right above the ceiling in our room. When I asked for a small grace period the next day to work (as I already had international meetings booked) I was told to check out. Never before have I been treated with such disrespect. Again we were blamed for our small dog being attacked by the psycho dog. There was another guest with a 3 year old who was out of control, frequently exhibiting violent behaviour and who hit our little dog. I reprimanded her in front of the mother - Karen accused me of attacking the child which is absolutely ludicrous. I went on my knees, met her at eye level and shouted at her to never ever hit our little dog again. The problem with this place is that it has the negative energy similar to some cult or a convent where no justice is considered in any event. The staff will inevitably side with and protect each other at the expense of the customer. It is a very strange set-up indeed. Maybe one would not pick up on the dark energy over a day or two but after three weeks it had become very evident. Kate the coffee girl was caught tip toe-ing to our bedroom doors and eve's dropping to report back anything of interest to the staff and other guests! If privacy matters, this is not the ideal type of accommodation. Karen tried to charge us for an extra night after we left (claiming we did not tell her we did) when she had told us to leave immediately! Obviously we would not pay this and to be clear, we paid her in full minus 10% for the last two nights for the building works kicking off, which in my view was over-generous of us. The room is still stood empty, a week after we have left. The good thing is that we made a wonderful circle of new friends outside of this enclosure, in Puerto Escondido and are returning next month to visit them all. One member of staff called Jerry-Lynne gets 5 stars. She was always friendly, helpful and attentive.

Well maybe one day it was good but now it's a ripoff. Food was bad. Served cold. The moment the owner saw i took out a MacBook to do some stuff he overcharged me. 380 for two juices and over salty BLT sandwich. Sad attitude.

Estuvimos 20 minutos esperando a que nos tomaran la orden, me tuve que levantar yo a pedir y cuando lo hice, casi no tenían nada de lo que pedí. Después de 45 minutos de esperar la comida, optamos por mejor retirarnos, pues ni siquiera habían comenzado a prepararlas. 👎🏼

Pésimo servicio, más de 40 min para esperar los alimentos y jamás llegaron, mejor nos fuimos a otro restaurante porque no eran ni para acercarse a la mesa.

This hotel I would not recommend, there were so many ants crawling on the tables and crawling into our drinks.The owner at 7pm at night would tell us to go onto the roof as she is trying to sleep if you run a hotel you have to expect some noise and at a 11pm I would certainly tone it down.the power went out she did not provide us with flash lights or candles so we can see to get to our rooms thank goodness no one got hurt! We could not shower flush the toilets,the pool was full of algae we prepaid for the month she wouldn't reimburse us we had to move to another hotel which was costly,my husband used a cpap for breathing she had no concern how to help with hydro for his machine.she yelled at us when we left and the clapped her hands and said oh we have hydro but she didn't.She should not be running a hotel as stated she want peace and quite as she yelled out she is very unprofessional. There were 7 of us in total staying in rooms none of us got reimbursed the pool was not up to par as she was told that her pump isn't working right by one her staff she failed to do anything about it My husband ended up in hospital with a parasite which we were told he contacted from bad water because he put his head under water the parasite could of entered through his ears or nose.I would be leary of staying at Marea Royal hotel

The place has a lot potential it needs new beds in all rooms mine was worn out . The pool is dirty 99% of the time Murky water. No TVs and we also lost power for 6 days until we left to other accommodation.still no power lost food in the fridge because of no electricity. The owner Karen is crazy and would not give us any money back and yelled at us as we left. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Oh if you stay there be prepared to mop the floors after sweeping and bring your own toilet paper and don’t forget pillows . Lots of ants and Karen won’t help you. If you decide to stay good luck and only pay by the day as we will get no refund

Terrible Hotel owner should not run a hotel at 7pm your told to be quite! She goes to bed Hotel had no power we could’nt shower, use toilets pool had algae growing she did not provide candles to see in dark, we had paid in full for the month she would not reburse her guests to go seek hotel with proper services I would stay clear!!!
