One of my favorites and a super cozy dinner spot in Williamsburg. Bahia has not only a large menu, but a great price point for the area. They serve up super authentic El Salvadoran food which is especially hard to find in manhattan. I enjoy coming here because it’s filled with locals and the ambiance makes me feel like i’m at home! Besides their pupusas, I suggest their plátanos con crema as an appetizer. Don’t forget about their tres-leches cake for dessert, it’s my favorite. Service is great and I always find myself coming back here for a causal dinner with friends.
Excellent food! I went with a couple of friends and we all ordered the same dish because it is that good. The ribs with rice and beans with a side of Maduro. Friendly staff and definitely a great place to eat.
Absolutely the best comfort food ever! Every dish is full of flavour and made with love.. you can taste it! The people there are super friendly and help you out with recommendations. Definitely try the popusas!
Very sweet place. Family friendly, lots of different groups of people there for dinner. Pupusas were delicious, cooked to order, and we had dinner for 2 for $20
Delicious, authentic, Salvadoran food. Anything I’ve ordered from here has been fresh and tasty, including, of course, all of the seafood & pupusas (my favorite is the zucchini + cheese). Classic, neighborhood joint, with very friendly staff, support!
My family and I love this restaurant! The food is excellent with great portions. I love their pupusas and the seafood is also really good.
Popped in to grab something quick to eat and had the papusas and a tamale 🫔 and they were both soooo good!! The staff was warm and welcoming so I will definitely be back to try more of the menu.
The complete package of food and atmosphere wowed me. The flavors were rich and satisfying. You get your money's worth and then some. We never waited long and everyone was courteous. This spot merits your consideration.
This experience reminded me why Brooklyn’s food scene is so special. I’ve never had Salvadoran food before, had no idea what to eat, so I went with the safe sounding Shrimp Diablo. I went to order chips and salsa as well when the owner asked if I’d ever had a pupusa. I had not so he flipped to the page in the menu and explained the options to me, listened to my feedback, and came up with the perfect one for me! It came out hot and steamy, very similar to an arepa but heartier. The shrimp diablo was absolutely delicious, so comforting, especially with those delicious beans on the side!
Party of 3, Feb2023: great menu with spacious environment. They have a great deal for $25. This place by far was authentic. The sangria was fruitful. Pupusas with curtido was well filled with cheese and loroco just extremely hot as always. Dessert was yummy and the plantos con crema was well caramelized.
I absolutely LOVEEE this place! For 8 years, my friends and I have made this our go-to food spot. The Nachos A Todo Dar Supreme are a must try!! So good!! And if you feel adventurous, try their strawberry mango milkshake. All the servings are perfectly filling and delicious. The customer service is great and you just have a great time here!!
I’ve been craving papusas since my visit to El Salvador last year so decided to give Bahia a try. This place is awesome! Friendly staff and the place was buzzing on a Sunday for lunch. I was lucky to get a table. They’ve got all the traditional varieties of papusas - I got a chicharron with cheese and a loroco and cheese. Also ordered the tipico plate, which had the plantains, cheese and refried beans. I’ve gotta say the refried beans were better than a lot of Mexican restaurants I’ve been. But the papusas knocked it out of the park - as good as any I had in San Salvador. Served hot, the aroma of corn hits you instantly and the gooey melted cheese and fillings was so good! Ill be back!
The best part of NYC is the amount of various unique cuisines you have the chance to test out. This Salvadorian spot showcased a range of new Flavors from Pupusas with Loroco flower to Maranon drinks & the entrees of Steak & whole fried fish were excellent. The best decision to make is buy a Salvadorian Quesadilla (Sweet Cheese Pound Cake), one of the best baked goods Ive ever tried, no BS!
Pupusas! We got every type of pupusa on the menu, all were good. The enchiladas de carne were very good, would highly recommend. Got the crema de mariscos which was my personal favorite. The amount of food for the money was incredible, 5/5 for value. Food was all excellent, 4/5. Service was friendly, 5/5. If you’re in the mood for Salvadoran, look no further.
The pupusas made me sick! They were so oily. They never were so oily before. The curtido wasn't fresh. I woke up to puke at 3am . It also made my mom sick. I've been ordering from this place for 10 +yrs and the quality of the food has dropped significantly to the point its not worth it. I will not be ordering from here again! Think twice before eating here. I was violently ill and dont wish that on anyone!
I don't live in New York; I'm visiting with my family. We decided to order through Uber Eats. We're right here in Manhattan, about four miles away. It took four hours for the pupusas to arrive. They were mostly just masa (corn dough). We ordered with different fillings, but the pupusas were mostly masa. For the 17 we ordered, there was very little salad and salsa. If I could give them not even one star, I'd be much happier. I tried to order by phone beforehand, and the person who answered has terrible customer service skills, unlike most Salvadoran restaurants I know. Anyway, the price of the pupusas is outrageous considering they're just masa pupusas. I would have preferred they charged more but also included cheese, chicken, etc., in addition to the masa. I will never buy from here again.
