Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Brooklyn Museum in Jan 26 to see the Monet & Venice Exhibition before it left. I have always enjoyed Monet's works and this did not disappoint. It was a real treat to see a few of his Waterlily pieces up close and in person. Didn't have a whole lot of time to explore the rest that the Brooklyn Museum offers but what little I did see was amazing. You could spend days here. Special shout out to the museum's café! We had lunch and enjoyed some of their bakery items. The tomato soup really hit the spot on a chilly day and who doesn't find comfort in the traditional grilled cheese and tomato soup combo? Top it off with some baked cookies with some interesting twists in flavor. Super yum! Highly recommend.

The Brooklyn Museum is a hidden gem in NYC 🌟! With its diverse collections and thought-provoking exhibits, it's a must-visit for art lovers and curious minds alike. From ancient Egyptian artifacts to contemporary installations, there's something for everyone 🎨. The building itself is a work of art, with a stunning Beaux-Arts facade and a beautiful sculpture garden 🗽. Plus, the views of Manhattan from the rooftop are 🔥! Whether you're a local or just visiting, the Brooklyn Museum is a must-see destination in NYC 😊. Get your tickets and explore!

The Brooklyn Museum is no joke. I got my ticket at noon and was being shuffled out of the museum at closing time six hours later after only seeing one floor completely. This place is massive and it can't be seen in it's entirety in a day without speed-walking through some stuff. It would probably take me three full days to see it all. I saw everything on the 5th floor, then realized I only had an hour left and just quickly browsed the rest of the floors/exhibits. Just the vault (Luce Center for Visible Storage) on the 5th floor took me half an hour and there's nothing to read! The Egypt/Africa/Assyria exhibit is bananas. That would take a whole day from opening to closing on its own. They have a full Buddhist shrine on the 2nd floor in the Asian art section that you can just sit in. Buddhist chanting and all. It's a real trip. I don't know what Google is smoking with the pay-what-you-want thing. I paid at the museum and the only option at the kiosk was full price ($20) if you're not a senior, or student, or veteran. I don't know where else you'd get tickets besides the kiosk to pay what you can. The bathrooms on the main level could have been a little cleaner when I went in there. That's my only real gripe.

Absolutely excellent museum and surprisingly huge. It is well worth a visit. Good mix of more modern art with ancient and traditional and lots of open spaces for relaxing or reflecting. The fifth floor in particular is laid out to invite lots of thought on how museums display art. Very fascinating.

I went to see the money exhibit and it is spectacular. It is absolutely worth the additional fee. The photos at the end are from that temporary exhibit. I was really happy to see quite a few other artists and their depiction of Venice, alongside the ones by Monet. They are rearrange the permanent collection since I was last there and I really liked the new format a lot. There’s a lot of great artworks in here. If you’re short of time on your first trip to New York, and you have to pick between the Met and here, you probably want to go to the Met. But if it’s a follow up trip for you and you haven’t been here yet, it’s worth your time to come out.

There was so much to see! We went on the first Saturday of the month so there was a popup market, a concert, and all sorts of fun things happening. Some of the art was truly breathtaking!

Great Museum, definitely worth a visit! All team members were super helpful with any questions. It definitely gets busy on weekends or times when there are very well known exhibits. Pro tip: if you want to see an exhibit that might be sold out online, they offer a few tickets first thing in the morning each day. I was able to stop in early Saturday morning and pick up two tickets for a later time slot that day.

Visut this museum for two First Saturday at the Brooklyn Museum. So many incredible Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs, amazing music, great vibes—and the exhibitions did not disappoint. If you’re there now, don’t miss Seydou Keïta’s stunning exhibition. Truly powerful work.

One of my absolute favorite museums! The curatorial work is extraordinary—deeply thoughtful, impeccably researched, and executed with remarkable vision. Each exhibition is truly world-class, beautifully designed, and unfolds with beauty and intelligence. Every visit feels like a new discovery, filled with exceptional works and unforgettable exhibitions. If you’re in Brooklyn or the greater New York area, this museum is an absolute must-see.

The Monet & Venice exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum is beautifully done. It captures the elegance of Monet’s late work, where Venice becomes less a city and more a study of light, reflection, and atmosphere. The galleries are curated with restraint and care, letting the paintings speak for themselves. The colors shift softly from rose to violet to gold, each canvas dissolving a little more into air. It’s a show that reminds you how powerful subtlety can be, and how an artist near the end of his life could still find new ways to see. Thoughtful, balanced, and deeply serene - one of the museum’s strongest exhibitions in years.

I love this museum. Great staff who are very helpful and kind, and the exhibits are always changing. The monet in Venice was beautiful. I was speechless. Same with the ancient Buddhist exhibit.

Roots! Grew up close enough to visit frequently and enjoy immensely. Monet in Venice was the draw but our visit included the Café and Seydu Keita: A Tactile Lens exhibit. Marvelous and hope to return soon. The staff were just sincere, warm and, at times funny. BTW, the organic tomato soup was amazing!

The Monet and Venice exhibit is worth the trip!!! Be careful of the days and times the museum is open. The museum can get crowded on the weekends so go in the morning on the weekdays if you can.

The Brooklyn Museum has such a distinctive and thoughtfully designed interior. It’s a place where the architecture itself becomes part of the experience. Really enjoyed my visit!

Great museum. National treasure. Monet exhibition is world class. Best new addition is the shrine room from the Rubin Museum. Great place to meditate.

Primary reason for visit was the Monet Exhibit running through January 2026. The Exhibit was very well done and extensive with not only Monet paintings but other artists' works including a Renoir! Also spent an hour looking through the Asian Exhibit. The great hall and 4 wall Exhibit was also wonderful. Great day! Need to book time slot for Monet Exhibit unless you are a member of the Brooklyn Museum.

Wonderful experience seeing Monet’s pieces set in Venice. The galleries were very spacious and thoughtfully arranged; descriptions helped bring each piece to life. This museum is one of my personal favorites and love visiting during fall & winter — truly captivating collection.

First time visiting after living in Brooklyn for 6 years. I love the exhibition design, it feels different from other major museums like the Met or MoMA. The rooms are spacious, and I love that the arts emit the sense humanity and community. The ticket is pay-what-you-want in person, so if you don’t feel like paying for full price, remember to go to the reception to get tickets.

Have always been a fan of Monet's artwork and noticed the Brooklyn museum had an exhibition of his Venice pieces. First time going to this museum and thought it was free entrance but it's around $30 to see the exhibit. Overall it was pretty nice and straight forward. Monet's artwork is much nicer to see in person, definitely worth swinging by and checking it out while it's available.

Brooklyn Museum is a relatively small museum with interesting art exhibitions and at the momento they have an exhibition of Monet until February 2026. I loved the exhibition and I'm leaving proof of their great work 🙌

Amazing place that gets it right: really inclusive, really addressing current debates and dilemmas in art, adopting a really reflective attitude The actual art is fantastic: contemporary, colourful, interesting, provocative…. And the cafe has brilliant coffee. Only suggestion: please enrich the shop with many many souvenirs and interesting reflections of the art. I’d looove to have something to remind me of my day in this museum Do.not.miss.

The Brooklyn Museum is such a gem! The Judy Chicago exhibit is absolutely fantastic — powerful, thoughtful, and beautifully curated. It’s inspiring to see her work presented in such a dynamic and accessible way. On the first floor, there’s also an ocean-themed exhibit that’s perfect for kids. They can color fish and sea creatures as part of an interactive art space, which makes the whole museum visit even more family-friendly. Overall, it’s a great mix of world-class art and hands-on experiences. Whether you’re going solo to soak in the exhibits or bringing little ones along, the Brooklyn Museum is well worth the visit.

I am personally been a big fan of the Brooklyn Museum for many years. I believe they do a good job of making wonderfully curated exhibits and uses their space wisely. It's a very easy museum to get around and see all the art in a good amount of time. The architecture itself is wonderful and I'm not surprised that weddings happen here. Will say if you ever get the opportunity to have tea with the director, that it's a pleasure. To top it off the staff is always well mannered and helpful. So far my favorite summer exhibits pair was 2019, truly something special, with both their amazing Frida exhibit and their one on queer pride, 6 years later & I'm still thinking about it. Plus the one they did on waste in 2023, with the recycled materials used to make art. Will also note that because of the Brooklyn Museum, I can tell a Georgia O'Keefe piece from a mile away.

The Brooklyn Museum makes people feel that they are traveling back in time to different eras. The space layout is amazing, and I like the artworks even more. I will continue to visit.

Amazing display of Asian and Egyptian arts! Floor 2 & 3 were really fascinating! Also 4 with Brooklyn museum timeline artifacts, decorative arts and the decorative rooms were really refreshing! Recommend to spend 2-3 hours and explore based on your interest!

I was here one months ago with my classmates from ESL (English second language) courses. And this is what I want to note. Our English was weak, but our guide explained everything clearly. And I lost my fear of attending different museums in the USA. The museum itself was wonderful! And I have a desire to go back there again.

Nicely curated museum showcasing a wide variety of art. They often have special exhibits. The staff is very friendly, and you get decent food and beverages in the lobby cafe.

This is a very beautiful museum. Some of the art here is truly captivating. This is a large museum so you'd need a full day to tour it in its entirety or you can come spontaneously throughout you stay in NY if you're not a native. There is exclusive parking for visitors. Train station is just outside the museum's doors. The food here is good as well if you plan on dining during your visit.

Very nice cafe just inside the museum entrance. Great place to take a halftime break from seeing all the wonderful works of art without having to leave the museum. They serve all types of coffee drinks, have pastries, and even hot dishes with rice and chicken. As for the museum, there are so many paintings/ exhibits of various styles, origins, ages to mention. Everything cannot be truly enjoyed in one day. We will be back.

An interesting museum closer to American roots, where you can better feel the past and the trauma linked to tragic periods of racial discrimination. The museum was huge, and while taking a break, I took the chance to keep reading my thriller Honesty Bar (found it on Amazon — available in both English and French). It’s a gripping story that’s great for the whole family, taking me on a journey from Paris to Warsaw to the Seychelles. Absolutely loving it!
