We are regulars at this spot. Wether we visit in person or order delivery the food is always good.
Best pernil I've had in a long time clean comfortable restaurant with many delicious offerings
The food selection is good. This my go to nearest spot pickup and go. Good food. Soup tasty. And ordered bundle pack.
Came in to get some takeout. Let me just say the place was decorated so nice and the added Christmas decorations just beautiful. But let’s get into the food- Everything was hot and food displayed and in my plate was perfect. Now only con was the wait for certain dishes. But other then that No complaints 😌
The rotisserie meal cannot be beat! Great value, so yummy and filling. I only do takeout and they pack everything up super well. Cute space if you do dine in, though - always decorated for the season!
Feels amazing, good food - great vibes - and the staff is friendly unlike other places . But it’s all good they are my go to thank god for kindness it always wins I appreciate them. The manager is a wealth of knowledge awesome conversations every time. I thank you for setting the standard.
This might be the best breakfast I’ve ever had—anywhere. The Dominican breakfast was so good, I kept eating long past full. The fresh passion fruit juice was perfection, and that mangú? Pure heaven—creamy, with those homemade pickled red onions on top. The coffee is smooth and dark, and the owner and server are kind and make you feel at home. I’m coming back for another plate before I leave Brooklyn!
I love the Dominican breakfast. Very good, friendly service. The dining area is spacious and captivating, as it is caparisoned with an abundance of medieval armor and chivalrous figurines.
Family friendly - their family combo meals are great and extremely cost effective. Food is always hot and fresh. I would recommend them many times over!
I’m not the biggest unsolicited review leaver, but sometimes you just have to. I catered my housewarming with food from here, and not only was the price for the amount of food you get amazing, but the food itself was even better. Giovanni and Monica are such sweet people and great restaurant owners. 10/10 will be back
The food is amazing ! EVERYONE eats here, service workers, NYPD, construction workers and locals who live in the area. The service is amazing. The atmosphere is great also but on the weekends it could get a little loud with the music but if you’re someone who likes a lively atmosphere on the weekends then it’s perfect.
Food really tasty. I had the tripe soup. It was good but could have been a little hotter. Overall, food could have been hotter. The prices were reasonable, as well as the portions. Server was very amicable and pleasant. Made food come out quick. I would go again.
The friendliest, most accommodating service! They went out of their way to please the cranky, tired and sleepy toddler! As a result, toddler was happy! Mofongo con camarones is da 💣! Definitely worth the trip, even from the city. Tripe soup was pretty decent as well. All in all, Castillo is definitely worth visiting.
They have got Dominican dishes, rotisserie chickrn, beef stew, rice n beans etc. The food is ok. The service is so so, nobody is going to understand you, dont expect a lot, just point at something and hopefully you'll get it. The last few times I went there they got my orders wrong, I asked for well done chicken, I got the most under cooked piece. I have asked for beef gravy, I have gotten chicken. Good people, they mean well, they just dont understand you.
Great employees, they are super nice and helpful with preparing dishes. Sometimes they can take a little longer depending on what you want, but they do their best to keep it speedy. Paying with cash saves you a little but they accept credit/debit and Apple Pay too. Pernil and chicken from here is always great. ATM inside if needed.
Great food and affordable prices. I ordered a small sancocho soup and a cod fish lunch special that comes with rice and beans. Our waitress was nice and attentive. Everything tasted good, my only complain was that the cod fish was cold. They keep all the food on hot plates but somehow this was cold. I was full by the time I finished the sancocho so I didn’t bother telling the waitress and had it to go.
Overpriced. I ordered the beef stew with rice. All I got was 3 pieces of beef and 1 potato, 1 carrot and a ton of rice for $12! Not a good impression, not worth my time or money.
I paid about $18 for yuca and 1/2 lb of chicharron… both of these containers are the smallest size they have. The pork was so hard that the women struggled cutting it with the scissors. I’m at home eating it now and I can barely get my teeth through it. The Dominican restaurant Melanie down the block has the same thing for about $5 less. Very disappointed. I’ve been to this place about 3 times and I can say each time I haven’t been satisfied. They have plenty of food options so I guess that’s a plus..
I ordered chicken , rice and beans. Chicken came cold and salty.even I told the waiter chicken is cold. She dam doesn’t care what I said.and When I ask for napkins , waiters doesn’t care about napkins too.service was so bad.I have to ask them twice for napkins.this is really not good experience.I don’t know how they run the business here.If there is 0 star ⭐️. I will give them 0.
Absolutely disgusting i basically order rice for 10 with i asked was pernil not fat but what did i go with a gross piece of fat a enough rice to eat for 2 days they are extremely racist towards black ppl ..white and Spanish ppl they treat with kindness black ppl come in they are cold and dismissive...im tired supporting others races that want my mind but cant respect as a human being because my hue is black...over it, it 2023 not standing for ..they place is terrible...
