Sacred Heart

Today was one of the best New York City diner experiences I've ever had, and I've had plenty. The Village Salad is essentially a Greek salad without the lettuce. What could be better? And this one was big, fresh, delicious, and beautiful. Service was attentive and capable, and the welcome was exceptionally warm. Even the coffee was a cut above. Emphasis is something special.

Excellent breakfast spot. Prices decent for diner food. The meat lovers omelet was excellent with home fries and coffee for $10.

Excellent diner. Food here is better than a lot of other diners. The breakfast is strong here as well as the fried food. I would recommend the waffles and pancakes. The batter they use is very good. Also their fresh ice tea is very good as well. Lots of space and the food comes out very quickly. Almost everything I've ordered here, I would order again. Give this place a try if your in the neighborhood.

I moved from new york about 7 years ago and just told a story about how bad this place was because most food in ny is good. Tbh I came to see if they were still open online and im so appalled that this place survived covid. Bless your hearts I hope yall got a new owner or new management minimum.

I always call in and order the exact same thing. My order comes with toast on the side, and the toast usually has butter on top — but EVERY SINGLE TIME, I ask for my toast to be PLAIN and for the butter to be ON THE SIDE. That’s how I ALWAYS order. Today, while I was placing my order, the guy on the phone had an attitude from the second he picked up. He was rushing me, talking over me, and even said, “I’M BUSY, CALL ME BACK LATER,” while I’m literally a customer trying to give him an order. When my food arrived, there was NO BUTTER ON THE SIDE and NO BUTTER ON THE TOAST at all. So I called back, like I normally would, and told him they forgot my butter. Instead of fixing it, he gave me even more attitude and said, “I PUT BUTTER ON THE TOAST.” First of all — NO, HE DIDN’T. Second — even if he did, it would still be WRONG, because I clearly asked for PLAIN TOAST WITH BUTTER ON THE SIDE. Then he actually had the nerve to tell me he wouldn’t send the butter because “I DON’T KNOW HOW TO ORDER.” Maybe if he actually LISTENED the first time instead of complaining and trying to hang up, we wouldn’t be here now. So I hung up and told him I’ll just dispute the charge with my bank — and that’s exactly what I’m going to do. I DO NOT recommend this place. The staff is RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, and clearly don’t care about their customers. They just lost a loyal customer who ordered from them at least three times a week. NEVER AGAIN

It was delivery. Egg salad on roll (with blue cheese on the side) tasted something like a blue cheese on a roll sandwich. Greek salad, dry, very less than ordinary.. Alway Ok in the past, like Americana, slow downhill.. Praying 🙏 for uphill!!

I used to love this diner . The server is extremely sweet and amicable however she was unable to get my the order correct. My friend ordered turkey sausage she brought out some weird looking bacon. The water she brought out had no straws.They dug a fork into my friends plate to remove the bacon. She had no knowledge on how to split the bill. I ordered a grilled chicken panini. It was soggy . It wasn’t toasted enough. I there was hardly anything in it. The atmosphere can use an upgrade it’s pretty run down in there.

This burnt black thing on my plate is supposed to be corned beef hash. All I had was scrambled eggs and this alleged "corned beef hash" ... $20? I did NOT have home fries, I did NOT have bacon nor sausage, I did NOT have coffee, I did NOT have toast! I saw the waitress which was about 65 years old touch a menu, grab a bucket then with her same hand grab slice bread and put it in the toaster for the next customer. Not once did she wash her hands. They also expected me to use the same utensils that were on the table for who knows how long and next to a peanut. (Seriously, how did that get there)? And to top it off, one of the employees brought in 3 giant size garbage cans from the outside, right past me, very close to my table as I was supposed to be eating. It was disgusting. I'm not sure how they are even in business. They need to be shut down before someone gets sick. Hopefully not me!
