Flavorful sujok sandwich with fries. Sausage was well spiced, and the pickles inside tasted homemade! The hot sauce was super delicious! Very friendly and casual on a chilly winter afternoon. Wish I had time and room to eat more! I’ll be back— Convenient to Prospect Park!

This little place is a true blessing. After a very long day of travelling in from Philly and doing activities around crazy times sq, finally a welcoming face and a quiet place to eat! Being an anxious traveler, I was grateful. I ordered chicken shawarma hotteok at the suggestion of the kind gentleman who helped us, and it was absolutely delicious and unlike anything I've had. (Aforementioned fellow was also very helpful and patient towards a woman with diet restrictions). It's fun to shop for snacks, drinks, and ingredients while things get made - but the service was very quick, so it's not much of a "wait". They have an open kitchen that looks refreshingly clean and orderly. We sampled the home-brewed cardamom tea and kimchi soup, and if we had room we would've ordered both. Thanks SYKO! I've picked up a quick lunch and also end of day 'too good to go' meals several times over the past 6-9 months and the service is always friendly and the food fresh and delicious and always reasonably priced. I love to get 5 mini pies, assorted fillings and toppings and if you're throwing a little party or gathering, you can't go wrong with a dozen of these, warmed and cut into 3-4 pieces, it's the nicest easiest appetizer ever.

This bar rules. Lots of negative reviews about being deeply uncomfortable or feeling out of place - you ever think maybe it’s all in your head? Salt of the earth people and relaxed. If you feel out of place maybe it’s because you’re going in with a preconceived mindset and looking to judge. I assure you - 95% of the patrons in there couldn’t care less who/what you are or if you’ve ever drank there before. Just be nice and you’ll be fine.

One of the last old Irish bars in NYC Farrell's is the best place to buy a budweiser. Don't go there expecting IPAs and a tasting menu. There's no food and there's 4 options, Bud, Budlight, Stella, and water. If you want to step into old Windsor Terrace this is it. It's almost a shame they installed the jukebox.

Farrell's is a utilitarian and time-tested drinking place. Not your spot for food, selection, bubbly service or creature comforts. And yet, so special: dive, old man bar, local watering hole, saloon. Think neon sign, creaky floor, wood paneling with hat hooks, echoed accents and laughter. Check attitudes and expectations at the door. Farrell's is an anachronism in a city defined by change. Sidle up for a beer while you can.

Farrell's is what it is - a no-frills bar with a pleasant atmosphere and cold beer. Need a shot? they have those too. It's a working man's bar, not ritzy like some establishments patronized by the wealthy Park Slope crown that headed south. How do I know this? I am one. I have always felt welcome, from day one. Perhaps since I grew up in a working man's town myself, only bettering my financial situation with hard work. Regarding the accusations of a racist bar that can be found a few posts back - I don't find that statement accurate. I have gone to that bar several times with a dark complexion friend from Spain, and he was not ignored, ever. Things to know; they only serve Budweiser and Bud Light. No other beers are available, and the selection is limited to draft. The place is nicely air-conditioned They pack their tap coils with ice, resulting in the coldest beer I know about in Brooklyn. Mixed drinks? Not sure, I've never seen one. Their shelf liquor selection has all the basics.

Really dope place! Super friendly owners helped walk me through the menu because admittedly, I was overwhelmed by the options. I don’t live near here and the vast menu made me to go a tiny bit overboard. I started with the kimchi soup, superb! I got the 3 baked goods for $9.99: sfiha, za’atar, muhammara. All great and reheated well. Probably the only thing I didn’t love was the fatboy sandwich. It’s held together by a Korean pancake that was charred in some parts and undercooked in other parts. If you just want something to stuff your belly, this is for you. I also wish it was wrapped with foil only; the paper wrapping was impossible to peel off. Leftovers were better because I was able to deconstruct it and cook the pancake more. Now my absolute favorite item was from the fusion menu. The beef shawarma hotteok was chef’s kiss! Holy hell, I can’t stop thinking about each crispy and flavor packed bite. I will definitely be back for this! Such a beautiful marriage of cuisines.

Interesting take on a fusion of both Syrian and Korean culture. The flavors of both blend well with each other and the menu design is rather thoughtful. I've gotten the falafel pizza and the flavors are so fresh and herbaceous the portion was rather large too so it was price appropriate. The vegetarian Hotteck Japchae is so flavorful as well, easily one of my favorite on the menu now.

The food looked and smelled so good we forgot to take a picture before diving in. Their fusion menu is fantastic. We recommend the Box Sampler. Note that this is definitely a take out place. While they have some seating, it is limited and we didn’t see a restroom available for customers either. That said, you must try SYKO! Very delicious and unique.

Korean-Syrian food? Never heard of it and had to try it! Note this is more of a takeout place rather than sitting and dining - there is only one 3 person table inside and outside only 3 bar chairs. Like most, when I first saw the prices I was a little shocked. Two fat boys sandwiches paid in cash was $40! But once I got the food - oh boy they are LARGE portions. One fat boy can easily feed two people - so if you're trying to save money just buy one and split it between the two of you. I am also sure their pizza and combo plates could easily feed two as well. As a vegetarian, I appreciated all the vegetarian options. I got the tofu kimchi fat boy which consisted of outside being a thick scallion pancake and filling inside being fried tofu coated in cornstarch batter, kimchi, yellow pickled radish, lettuce and rice. It was extremely flavorful! And I loved the sauces that went along with it - if you love a little spice get the habanero sauce on the side (it's not just spicy it has almost a creamy element that I enjoyed greatly). It also came with gochujang sweet sauce and a more almost Chinese based chili oil sauce. I do wish the scallion pancake was more flaky (it's a little thick for my taste) but dipped in sauce was quite yummy. My husband got the beef bulgogi fat boy and loved it. You do save about 12-13 cents per item if you pay in cash, but they do accept card. Parking metered all around.

Atmosphere is plentiful but the "grill" part of the name is, what? Symbolic? Wishful thinking? A metaphor? No food here, just beer and basic drinks. This is really a shot and a beer kinda place. Back in the day, Farrell's only served Bud, but modernization has happened here too. Possibly it has happened because the old Irish, Italian and Polish working class nabe is long gone and the new patrons demand more. So now they also have Stella on tap and a few other options in bottles such as Coors, Guinness and even some IPA. (My father-in-law is rolling in his grave over that one.) Numerous basic whiskeys as well as a couple vodkas and gins are available and, oddly, you can actually get your beer "to go". They fill up a BIG styrofoam cup, slap a lid on it and out the door you go. Open container? No problem here. (What do they think this is? New Orleans with go-cups?) Anyway, good place to stop by for a cold one on your way out or back to wherever. Always sports on the TVs and some folks to talk to. Pete Hamill did it for years, and you can too.

Food was okay. I think it’s cool to try but the flavors weren’t the best for me. The shawarma pizza had beef and strong spices and wasn’t something I’d get again. The falafel kind of reminded me of bean sprouts. My fav was the chicken shawarma wrap. Pretty pricey

It’s all been said in terms of basic description: old man/cop/local/regular bar, well lit, it has an ambience but it’s not a particularly sought-after one, juke box, limited drink selection. I’ll say I was nervous to take the plunge for a long time, but I was out with family to grab one drink and I persuaded everyone to try it, and we had no regrets. I feel like we got some looks on the way in, but we just went with it, got a table, ordered very low maintenance drinks, tipped appropriately, got involved with the juke box, and had a great time. It felt a lot more comfortable in the way out. And certainly no one was anywhere near rude, I just feel like they initially wondered if we’d meant to walk into a different establishment. I’ll say, basic beers were $6, and I guess that’s the going rate, but I don’t really want a basic beer, so having to pay something approaching an actual drink price for one is annoying. I think the selection of drinks is the reason this wouldn’t be my top pick. But the mixed drinks aren’t exactly the bomb at Double Windsor, either. Anyway, this totally felt comfortable, and I’m so glad I’ve finally tried it! Four stars or even five for character and distinction, three stars for place I actually all-around might want to go to.

One of the things I liked about Farrell's Bar was that I believe it is the only place in all of Brooklyn and for that matter, all of NYC, where there is definitely NO WAITING in line for the ladies' room! The other thing I used to enjoy with a few friends, was going in and having a pitcher of beer, then ordering a pizza from around the corner, and bringing in the side door (on 16th St) where we had a table. Worked out well for us. One big negative to me was that there is a subway station there, and it was rather gross-smelling (unless you like the smell of stale beer) outside, especially during the summer.

The food is so delicious here. Fantastic all the way but now they are just too expensive. A wrap with fries and a soda is now $30.00 on Seamless. That is just not sustainable.

They certainly aren't closed at midnight. We all suffer for their late night antics, even when weeknights can go in their outdoor "dining" until 1, 2am. It's rude and makes you bad neighbors, Farrell's. Please close the outside space at a reasonable hour.

The phrase "cash only" took me back to the 20th century. They said that you need to pay cash when the alcohol is already poured. That means you have to pay for it. And they offer ATM, which is located in the bar... Do you want beer? Drink urine like Budweiser and Stella! Negative emotions were present. Thank you for your attention!

The bar, bartender and it's patrons made me deeply uncomfortable.when I was there yesterday for a quick drink. They don't ask for proof of vaccination, it's clearly a cop bar and are very unwelcome to anyone that isn't like them. I felt unsafe, for both those reasons. And the drinks are needlessly expensive as well. I would steer clear unless youre an antivaxxer or a cop
