Very Friendly, no wait time. Amazing food ,best service and sushi .Definitely coming back!!!
We found this place by accident & fell in love with it. The food is always fresh & delicious, the staff is pleasant & attentive & the prices are affordable!!
It was a nice place quiet and intimate to have a good meal with your significant other. I'll recommend it. 👌
One of the best sushi I tried in the city!
Best sushi on sheapsead bay road! Very nice and pleasant owner!
Service was very good and food was delicious. Definitely coming back
Great service, nice ambiance and fresh fish. Can’t wait to go back
This place is awesome. I’m so glad there is a new sushi spot open in sheapshead. The sushi is extremely fresh and the rolls have a new, unique flavor to them. I have already been here a couple times and they are yet to disappoint. The first time I went here the wait time was a little long to get the sushi, but I feel like it will get better as when I went it was visible that they were understaffed. Also the interior of the restaurant looks so nice. This is a must go.
Loved this cute new place. Best food and waitresses are so nice. The private rooms are the best part with the warm atmosphere. Definitely one of my top sushi places to go to in the area!
Great service. New to the neighborhood. Very very fresh fish. Prices are good, some places in the area have gotten out of control with prices for poor quality food. Jessie and her staff are friendly and delightful. Place is very cute with 2 private rooms in the back.
Great sushi place, great selection, very cozy! If you don't eat raw fish, they have a great selection of prepared dishes as well! Been there over 10 times, and it doesn't get old!
This is my new sushi place where I order from the food is amazing. The Ramen soup i highly recommend
It was my first time to visit kosan on Saturday night,it was so busy .we were welcome to a very comfortable seat. The ambience is amazing comfortable, very outstanding food quality, it has beautiful presentation, very recommendable.
Yummy food, fast delivery. An excellent spot for sushi in the Sheepshead Bay neighborhood.
Good service with a smile, Good food. Reasonable prices. Really appreciate the private room when going out with friends.
The sushi wasn't the best but the decor and atmosphere is marvelous! I like the quietness of the place !
This place was DELICIOUS! Good service, good food, good prices. Coming back soon. The rolls were very good in specific.
Weird long corridors and private room locations. Wish one table was not on top of the other like that but food is great
At the moment this is the best sushi spot around, I hope they keep the quality otherwise they will close as many others before them
My favorite place and people ,who makes you happy❤ healthy❤ and satisfied with great cuisine. Enjoy.
My server provided quality attention despite reports. The service quality alone validates this establishment. This restaurant offers affordable quality. The quality is top-notch! Visit this spot without hesitation!
Kosan sushi exceeded all expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish being expertly prepared and full of flavor. The employees were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the dining experience all the more enjoyable. The standout dishes for me were the wok charred edamame appetizer, the fancy salmon salad, and the large chocolate roll. I highly recommend Kosan sushi to anyone looking for a fantastic sushi experience.
I was invited by my friends who I haven’t seen each other for years. We were so surprised that There are so many sushi restaurants around the place , we finally decided to go to kosan.one of the most impressive dish blue fin sashimi which were decent and highly recommended. Tom yum soup was amazing. Especially in this cold weather. It just warmed me up in a second . Kubota sake was my favorite drink. Service was extremely well. we had very pleasant dinner at kosan. Highly recommend this restaurant .definitely will comeback.
Had a great time on Valentine’s Day. As always good food and the ambience was great.
Astonishingly amazing place; Menu is full of diversified options of Asian Fusion Cuisine & has unique & rare items that you typically would struggle to find in the local area; Amazingly done interior, which matches the overall aesthetic of the place and unique food selection. Excellent quick service and beautiful food presentation. 5/5 - would recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
First time here. The food is fresh, tasty and delicious. The service is slow. Not enough workers so the owner was taking orders as well.
I recently dined at Kosan Sushi, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a modern yet cozy ambiance that made it perfect for a relaxed meal. The staff was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations on both the sushi and drink pairings. As for the food—simply amazing! The fish was incredibly fresh, and each dish was beautifully presented with an artistic flair. The sushi rolls were bursting with flavor, particularly the signature rolls that featured creative combinations I hadn’t tried before. The nigiri was melt-in-your-mouth perfect, and the sashimi platter was a highlight, showcasing the freshness and quality of the seafood. To top it all off, the menu was surprisingly diverse, with a range of options for both sushi lovers and those looking for cooked dishes. Whether you're a sushi connoisseur or trying it for the first time,Kosan Sushi is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back and explore more of their menu! Highly recommended!
So delicious, with an amazing selection of sushi — definitely worth trying
Amazing Place. Great food. Great service and atmosphere.
Thanks for the hospitality. we chose that place to have a snack and drink the famous Japanese beer asahi. we asked the manager if they have a happy hour, they don’t , but we were for first time, and manager kindly offered a discount on drinks. we tried tom yum soup and yellowtail sashimi, we really liked it. We will definitely come back again. I recommend it to all beer lovers, it’s fresh and very good taste. Food is also so good.
Absolutely amazing experience! The food was fresh and full of flavor, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be back!
Very very glad this spot opened up! Beautiful space and all of the food is has beautiful presentation! We sat in their back room and it was very cozy and secluded. Enjoyed the Odessa roll, Crazy Dragon roll & Bvlgari roll — all deeeelicious! Their tempura green tea ice cream is 1000% my fave in our area! Also definitely get the green tea to sip on throughout the meal! BTW The server was very sweet & helpful with choosing dishes. The only thing I didn’t love is we were brought out miso soup that we didn’t order (but enjoyed thoroughly…just thought they brought it since the restaurant was empty) and it was on the bill. For $2.50 though no biggie.
This place is awesome. The food never disappoints, the staff is attentive without being in the way. Always a solid choice
Love this place: sushi is extra fresh, staff is always friendly and if you’re a loyal customer, they treat you like family.
A Wonderful Asian Fusion Gem We had an outstanding experience at this Asian fusion restaurant. The warm and welcoming atmosphere mades you feel right at home. The staff is friendly, attentive, and welcoming. We celebrated a birthday party with 12 people in the private room setting. Service was quick even though the place was fully booked. The food was truly exceptional. The sushi is fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor, and the broader Asian dishes offer an impressive range of tastes and textures. The quality of the ingredients really stands out, and the selection is fantastic—there’s something for everyone, whether you’re craving classic rolls or more creative fusion options. They also offer a nice selection of drinks from the bar.
Amazing place, especially for the price. Waits were a bit long, but the place was packed...still they brought out dishes as they were ready--so earlier than others, but it was a great place for an under $200 meal for 7ppl!!
Very affordable and delicious sushi gem! 💗 Me and my friend went here as well as my family afterwards, thai tea is my favorite! For the food I recommend the Kosan Pizza, Soho roll, Bagel roll and shrimp tempura, rock shrimp for the most part. The rest werent that bad but the other ones were my favorite. We also ordered kani salad as our first dish and it is definitely recommended to order that before the food! 🍱
My favorite sushi restaurant in Sheepshead Bay. Food is always fresh and high quality and staff always goes above and beyond.
You could never find her best spot in sheepshead bay like kosan, it is always supply the most fresh food , you will always enjoy the vibes, and the fast , kind service . Very recommended able.🤩🤩🤩
Kosan Asian Fusion in Sheepshead Bay is a true hidden gem! The sushi here is fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Every roll we tried was bursting with flavor, and their creative menu offers a fantastic mix of classic and unique options. Beyond sushi, their Asian fusion dishes are equally amazing, with rich flavors and perfect portions. The ambiance is cozy, and the staff is warm and attentive, making you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. It’s the perfect spot for a casual dinner or a special night out. I can’t recommend Kosan enough for anyone who loves great sushi and Asian cuisine!
Nice place to for lunch or dinner. I might even say this the nicest sushi restaurant in Sheepshead bay area) Service was good. We ordered Rock shrimp, Dynasty roll, and Crazy dancing roll. Shrimps were more like prawns(huge) could have been a little spicier) rolls were good. But the was not hot enough. Specially, when it is 40 degrees outside, would be good to get a good hot tea..
While going in the first though that comes to mind is sushi, but this should not be the case. The name says it's all, and the key word is fusion. You can find dishes from various Asian cuisines under one roof and they are the reason why I would give them 5 stars. The sushi are actually not as great as some places around, but who needs sushi when they have many amazing dishes. Their seafood udon is just perfect and considering that there is places in the neighborhood that serves it this will be my go to place from now on.

I just love this place, guys you are the best! The best sushi place in NYC, always fresh super tasty, thank you for your great service

This Japanese restaurant is a gem! The warm, cozy ambiance, coupled with incredibly friendly staff, makes every visit delightful. My favorites include the mouthwatering sizzling beef teriyaki and the irresistible ramen noodles.

This is a relatively new place and my favorite sushi restaurant around. The BEST design snd ambiance among all other sushi restaurants here. Lovely for parties and eating alone. Besides I come here for a crab avocado soup, it’s amazing!
Sooooo Tasty, warm atmosphere and fast service. Jessie is very sweet and always recommends us the best special rolls with the freshest fish. Highly recommended 😍
A true gem in Sheepshead Bay! Kosan consistently delivers incredibly fresh, delicious sushi every single time. The quality of the fish is outstanding, and you can really taste the care in every bite. Jessy and the entire crew go above and beyond to accommodate us. They always make us feel welcomed—not just like customers, but like family. That kind of hospitality is rare and so appreciated. There’s only one sushi spot in Brooklyn for us, and that’s Kosan. Thank you for always taking such great care of us!
I brought 30 teenagers here for lunch after a college tour. The staff were welcoming, warm, and inviting. They were also very patient and kind and made everyone feel very comfortable. All of the students enjoyed their food tremendously! They all had various lunch specials (chicken/shrimp/veg teriyaki, chicken/steak hibachi, bento boxes, and more) which were reasonably priced, came with rice and soup or salad, and were sizeable portions. I will definitely return whenever we are in the neighborhood again! Thanks to the amazing staff for a lovely end to our trip!
We’ve been coming to Kosan Asian Fusion regularly as a family for dinner, and it’s hands down our favorite sushi place in Brooklyn! The sushi here is always fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor — every roll we try seems even better than the last. What we love most is the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere — it’s perfect for family dinners. The staff are friendly and attentive, making everyone feel comfortable whether we’re ordering sushi, sashimi, or trying other dishes from their Asian fusion menu. The menu has something for everyone in the family, from classic rolls to creative favorites, and even other Asian-inspired dishes that are delicious. The portions are generous, and the quality is consistently high. Highly recommend Kosan Asian Fusion for anyone looking for a reliable, tasty, and family-friendly place to enjoy great sushi together!
My favorite sushi in Brooklyn. I have been going here since they open and it's still my favorite sushi restaurant. The sushi is super fresh and tasty. I tried almost all sushi spots in the area and Kosan has the best sushi. Place is super cute and love their private rooms for special occasions. Jessie the owner is amazing person, very friendly and honest.
Jessy, the owner, always makes sure her guests are happy. She is the best host and Kosan became our favourite spot for sushi. The food is fresh and tasty and staff members are very friendly. Highly recommend Kosan!
I’ve been to many sushi places around my neighborhood, but I’ve got to say that this is the best place. The food is always amazing and taste good, the service is great and the waiters are always fast and kind, and the atmosphere is welcoming, cozy, and clean. It’s a great spot to go to with friends, family, or even by yourself. When I deliver from this place, it always comes fast. Overall this is a great spot and I recommend it to everyone!

new place that our friends invited us to. Food was pretty good, its a BOYD place so that was nice. The service could of been better - we were not checked up on for sometime, and that happened several times during dinner where I had to call a waiter.
Food is good, atmosphere could be better it is beautiful but seats are too close witheach other. Still there is cabin which is cozy but mostly it’s taken so need to be reserved.if you make reservations good place to have birthday dinner with family (or any kind of dinner 😂)
Restaurant looks nice and clean, atmosphere is welcoming. The service was decent since we were the only customers there at lunch on a Wednesday at noon. The sushi tasted fresh and good. Will try again and order some other dishes for a broader review . update 5/9 ordered delivery and unfortunately both orders were incorrect and not good. So sad that the food isn’t consistent.
The restaurant is located in the Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn. They serve primarily Japanese cuisine. I ordered the sushi/sashimi bento box. The sushi/sashimi was fresh and tasted very good. It included a generous amount of mixed shrimp/vegetable tempura. The nabeyaki soup included upon noodles, seafood, mixed vegetables and an egg. The spider roll was prepared with deep fried soft shell crab, spring mix, cucumber, mayonnaise and caviar. The restaurant was very busy. Nice interior and long sushi bar.
Saturday evening drop by. This space is on my list for a while and didn’t disappoint a bit. This restaurant has open view so one can see throughout. They have special seating for group of 6 to 8 for private, secluded dinner with your guests. The space itself is nice and clean yet simple. The service is fast, prompt and more importantly attentive. The food I ordered was two rolls (California and spicy tuna roll) both equally delicious and tasted fresh. Also ordered entree Japanese rice that came with salad. All in all great experience, nice open space, excellent service, delicious fusion food.

Small. Cozy. Great menu! Christina was our waitress. She was so sweet and knowledgeable. Sushi waa awesome so was the beef ramen!! They have the best charred edamame!
Mediocre restaurant. Crispy fish with rice was not crispy; Kosan pizza lacked flavor. Service is extremely slow.
They cleaning when people eat there. They cleaning garbage when people seat and eat 🥵. Fixed that! Food is good 👌
Foos is ok. The service is not very good, you have to wait a very long time for food, unbearably long. I don't recommend going there hungry.
Food was okay and I’ve been here twice now. The second time gave me food poising so I will not be coming back anytime soon
The order the food at about 7:00 PM and it was saying ETA 30 to 40 minutes. I was tracking the delivery guy. He was there for 40 minutes waiting for food at last. The delivery guy left at 8:20 PM and they were blaming that the guy was not there which he was there waiting 40 minutes.
Longest wait ever for the food 1 hour +
Food was delicious. But we waited soooooo f**king long. Awful! 3 rolls 2,5 hours!! It’s crazy. I usually understand long wait time, but not 2,5-3 hours for few rolls.
Sashimi is too old-fashioned. I have no appetite.
Food is good, reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of how rude they were. My family must've ate here close to 20x, reccomended this place to a dozen friends. We just ate here, ordered the best food, left a good tip, and as soon as we paid, they go to us and tell us "we're going to need you to leave, because there's new people here that want your table!" How dare you!? We weren't even there for an hour and were still eating our ice cream!! We left close to $200 for 3 people AGAIN! Not only is my family never coming back here, I'll be sure that I never suggest this place to any1 again and tell all my friends I told this place about to go somewhere better! Shame on you! For your greed and lack of class, you've lost a good 20 high paying customer! Shame on you!
My boyfriend wanted to try something new. I personally didn't like the food though. The soup wasn't good. I order seafood and the portion was small. They were closing in an hour so we had to rush to get our orders in before the kitchen close. He did say that his pineapple chicken he received alot of chicken. My drink which had mango was horrible. It tasted more orange juice than mango. I gave it to him. Then they didn't even have mango to put on the glass. The price I must say was decent. We sat near the window and it was cold. It felt like there was no heat.

The worst place I’ve ever ordered from. Food was disgusting 🤮.Not recommend at all. Btw I waited 2 hours for it. Actually it’s zero stars
We made a reservation for Mother’s Day in advance for 10 persons to seat in the private room and everything was ok, until the manager called us and let us know that she want to cancel our reservation or booked us for the different time, because the restaurant has one more reservation almost for the same time. I think it’s very unprofessional and four days prior the holiday I have to look for another restaurant to celebrate.
Food is gross! Pad Thai tasted and smelled like vomit. Poke bowls gross as well.
Everything was fine until my friends got the wrong order. They also made me give a $4 tip, it didn’t say anywhere that it was tip included.my friend got scammed the other day too….
Don’t take care of their customers
If you are an Uber Eats delivery person, never take a ride from this restaurant.A young girl at the entrance takes orders that customers pick up personally. I waited for my order for 30 minutes after driving to the restaurant for 20 and didn't get it. I don't understand why there is such an attitude towards couriers, because a courier is a representative of the client.
Our group of 16 had a reservation and showed up an hour early to drop something off in advance only to be told by the waitress that they gave my reservation away to someone else. No phone call. No text. No apology. Nothing. So let me get this straight: you cancel a large party the day of, don’t notify the customer at all, and just hand the table to someone else? That’s not a mistake that’s pure incompetence and total disrespect. We planned an entire event around this reservation. Sixteen people rearranged schedules for absolutely nothing. Especially on Valentine's Day. The staff acted like this was normal, as if wasting people’s time isn’t a big deal. If this is how they handle reservations, imagine how careless they are with other factors. Completely unprofessional, unreliable, and frankly embarrassing for a restaurant. Do yourself a favor and never trust this place with a reservation, especially if you’re coming with a group. They will drop you without warning and act like it’s your problem.
I am extremely disappointed with our experience with Kosan in Brooklyn. We made a reservation for a party of 16 to celebrate my friend’s birthday on Valentine’s Day — a day when everyone had to rearrange their schedules, cancel other plans, and coordinate weeks in advance to make it work. The restaurant cancelled our entire reservation the day of the event with absolutely no prior warning. There was no reasonable notice, no proactive communication, and no meaningful effort to accommodate us or help find a solution. On one of the busiest nights of the year, they left a group of 16 people scrambling for last-minute plans, which was incredibly stressful and unfair — especially considering this was a birthday celebration that had been planned well in advance. Valentine’s Day is not a surprise date on the calendar. If they were unable to honor large parties, that should have been communicated from the start — not hours before the event. Very disappointing level of professionalism and reliability. I would strongly caution anyone planning an important event here to have a backup plan.
The place was almost empty and I waited for 1.5 hours for my food. Noone cared to ask or show any hospitality. Food is good but the was is ridiculous. Slowest sushi place ever. There are so many options on the block that serve way faster than this location. Highly disappointed. Especially because it was a weekday.
quite literally zero stars, very rude employees employees judging us based on our age, me and my friends went out to I go get lunch for my friends birthday party (we're 14) they forced us to pay a water charge because 2 people weren't eating?? absurd. employees are giving dirty looks while walking past us, and I found a FINGER NAIL in my food. I promise you skip over this location and go to tenda instead.
For everybody that knows me in the Sheepshead Bay area, please do yourselves a favor and don’t go to this place. I would never go out of my way to write a bad review for anyone. I understand how important small businesses are to our community, and I genuinely try to support local establishments whenever I can. However, I am extremely frustrated and disappointed right now. I made a reservation for 16 people and personally called two days prior to confirm, letting them know that two additional guests would be attending. Everything was confirmed. Then, on the day of the reservation, because I didn’t pick up my phone, they decided to cancel my reservation and give the table to someone else. For a party of that size, that is completely unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional. We had coordinated 16 people around this dinner — schedules, transportation, everything — only to be told the reservation was canceled. No accountability, no real solution offered. What makes it worse is that after reading other reviews, it seems like this has happened to multiple people before. Canceling confirmed reservations to maximize tables is not how you treat customers, especially in a neighborhood where word travels fast. Do yourself a favor — do not book any parties here and do not rely on their reservations. If you’re planning something important, go somewhere that values its customers and honors their commitments. Very disappointed.
I was part of a group of 16 with a confirmed reservation, and this place completely dropped the ball. The reservation had been confirmed in advance, yet on the day of the dinner they canceled it and gave the table to someone else because the person who booked missed a phone call. For a party this size, that level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. Coordinating a large group takes time and effort, and everyone showed up expecting a confirmed reservation; only to be told it no longer existed. No accountability, no apology worth mentioning, and no attempt to make things right. After reading other reviews, it’s clear this has happened to other people. Canceling confirmed reservations to maximize tables seems to be a pattern here. If you’re planning a group dinner or anything important, don’t rely on this place. Choose somewhere that respects its customers and honors confirmed reservations.
