Avaliações de La Gran Via Bakery Brooklyn
I have loved this place since I was a kid. The current staff is absolutely stellar. I have gotten cakes and pastries before, but this time I special ordered a cake and it was AMAZING. Everyone loved it and of course it was delicious too!
Its my 2nd year ordering a custom cake and both experiences were great! They were super helpful in choosing the right size of cake and all I did was show my inspo picture and she broke down how she would do it with no issues. I went in nervous since I placed my order on short notice, but I came out extremely relieved and confident it would come out beautiful. All my guests loved the taste and kept complimenting how beautiful it looked. 100% recommend!
There are places you don’t just visit, you grow up with them. La Grand Villa Bakery Cafeteria is one of those places for my family. For years, Betsy has treated us with so much love and warmth that it goes far beyond customer service. Every birthday, every rushed morning, and even during moments when our family was dealing with loss, she always greeted us with the same kindness, patience, and genuine care. That consistency means more than people realize. Whether I’m grabbing quick bacon, egg, and cheeses for my kids because we’re running late, or ordering birthday cakes for my daughters, this place has never let us down. I live in Miami now and I truly miss this bakery. Coming back over Christmas break and seeing the same faces and getting the same smiles honestly feels like coming home. My favorite thing to order is the tres leches with fruit cake. I get it every single time and it never disappoints. I can honestly say I haven’t had one item on the menu that wasn’t either phenomenal or at least really solid. That kind of consistency is rare. You also can’t beat the prices, especially for late night snacks. The quality, portions, and care they put into everything make this place special. La Grand Villa Bakery Cafeteria on Fifth Avenue and 46th Street isn’t just a bakery to us, it’s part of our family’s story. If you’re from the neighborhood, you already know. If you’re visiting, make sure you stop in. Thank you Betsy, and thank you to everyone at La Grand Villa.
This is the second time I've ordered from Gran Via Bakery. On both occasions, I received wonderful service, with kindness and a lovely smile. I also love them for their cleanliness and the quality of their products. I'm absolutely delighted with the birthday cake for me and my daughter. I love it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can't thank this bakery enough! I reached out last minute for a retirement cake for my brother-in-law, who retired from the MTA after 29 years, and I gave them very specific details on how I wanted it done. They went above and beyond and truly exceeded my expectations! The cake came out absolutely beautiful, delicious, and perfectly customized — you would’ve never known it was a rush order. Everyone at the celebration was so impressed. I highly recommend this bakery for their amazing service, professionalism, and attention to detail!
Discovering local treasures is always a delight! La Gran Via, a charming mom-and-pop bakery, has been a beloved staple in Sunset Park for decades. With the ability to create custom cakes for any special occasion, this bakery truly stands out. The prices are incredibly reasonable, making it even more appealing! Betsy, the talented owner, is a joy to work with—her expertise in cake design is unmatched. From elegant weddings to fun birthdays, La Gran Via ensures every cake is a masterpiece. Support local and indulge in the sweet creations of this hidden gem!
I came here to buy my boyfriend's tres leches carmel birthday cake and it did not disappoint. Great service and one of the best tres leches cakes I've had in a while especially. In the bakery, they display more popular cakes to purchase in small, medium or large sizes. They also have reasonably priced party packages with empanadas & pastilles which I want to try for a future party. You can also order cakes for pickup via UberEats.
I have been getting my cakes from La Gran Via since my son turned one, he just turned 13 and still come from Westchester to Brooklyn to get my cakes. Anything your imagination comes up with they will do and if sometimes it’s not possible the way you want it, they come up with creative ways to give you the cake of your dreams. Not only are the cakes aesthetically pleasing, they are DELICIOUS!! I always get tres leche with guava filling and sometimes, when I am feeling extra indulgent, I get dulce de leche as well. I will never stop going to La Gran Via, they have been a part of all of our special celebrations.
Ordered a tres leches cake for a birthday party and it was absolutely delicious! The cake was moist without being drowned in cream and it came with a soft dulce filling. The icing was very soft and the cake held up well for a few days in the fridge since I couldn’t resist taking leftovers. La Gran Via has been a neighborhood staple for a while and always recommend it. On a separate note, I find it a little odd that after a certain time at night, if you go to the bakery, you have to order through an intercom and make the food/money exchange through a slot. I assume this has to do with crime they’ve experienced but this is the only place that does it from what I can tell. I guess just something to be aware of if you plan on going for a late night snack.
I cannot thank La Gran Via Bakery enough for their exceptional service and consistently outstanding custom cakes over the past decade. Roy, Betsy, and the entire team are true artists who put their heart and soul into every cake, making each celebration extra special. For my baby shower on 11/10/24, they went above and beyond with a beautiful, custom-designed cake that was both visually stunning and delicious. Every detail was executed perfectly, and it was exactly what I had envisioned — if not better. Their dedication to quality, creativity, and customer satisfaction shines through every time, which is why I’ve trusted them for over ten years. Thank you, Roy, Betsy, and the team at La Gran Via Bakery, for making every occasion memorable and for always delivering more than expected. If you’re in Brooklyn and need a custom cake that wows both in taste and presentation, look no further. La Gran Via Bakery is simply the best!

Thank you for making my day even more special. 8/24/24 Just had LA Gran Via my me another cake for my god daughters baby shower and was very pleased. They never ever disappoint me. Roy and Betsy are truly the best, you guys make my family events more special. The love you have for baking shines through with your cakes. How you can captivate your customers vision and design their desired cake is truly amazing, thank you.
La gran vía is our favorite bakery. They always out do themself. The cakes taste so deliciously good !! The picture attached was a last minute order and let me tell you; this cake went !! Chocolate & strawberry filling - yummy !! (Park ranger) The other cake are for other events we had. They get every detail and the flavors is on point!! They never disappoint!!
Omg if you want good quality cakes this is the place to go . I’ve been coming to them for years . There cakes are so beautiful and tasty. They are so talented when it comes to making special orders. The staff members are so sweet and caring. They have been in business for 45yrs that says it all .
Delicious bakery with a pretty good amount of products genuinely there have been a couple things that are hit or miss for the most part has wonderful stuff. The employees are nice downside is that their phone seems to disconnect often so I can’t call to ask questions.
I recently visited this bakery to pick up a pound of rainbow cookies for my husband’s birthday. Unfortunately, out of the entire pound, only three cookies were fresh—the rest were stale. I was very disappointed, especially since I couldn’t go back as I don’t live nearby. I want to note that my family frequently buys from this bakery and has never had any issues before, so I believe this was just a one-time problem. I have my receipt if anyone questions my visit. I’m giving them three stars. The staff at the front were very nice and helpful, and normally their pastries are quite good. It seems this time the fresh cookies were mixed with older ones, and I ended up having to throw out the entire box, which was a waste of money. I hope they take this feedback seriously so others don’t encounter the same problem.
I was shocked when I walked in and the loaf o bread is now $ 2.50. I understand the cost of ingredient items are pricey and even increase in employee salaries - bread made with 6 or 7 simple ingredients esp as a staple neighborhood bakery should know which items should remain at reasonable price. Keep customers with returning to the original size of the loaf and reducing pricing. This may motivated me to make my own bread! Thanks!
Although the food is delicious, the cashiers are very disrespectful especially the blonde. Every time I go to purchase from there they always seem to have an attitude. Today the blonde pushed my limit, she sucked her teeth and rolled her eyes at me for simply asking how much again because I couldn’t hear her. It’s always her, she seems to not want this job, she always prioritizes other things rather than the client. If people that act in this manner continue to work there I will no longer be going to the bakery. It’s sad to see such a good place go to waste.
I got charged for $52 plus tax for an 8 person cake that looked pretty on the outside but tasted gross. It had coconut flavor (which I did not ask for.) I do not recommend this place. Also cake was hard as a rock 1 day later. I ordered dulce de leche cake and it tasted like coconut cake (wanted plain cake) with dulce de leche. What a let down from what I thought would be great based on reviews on google. 😩 also this was for my dads 60th birthday.
Have been a repeat customer for years but the quality has gone so badly. I don’t expect any cake I’m buying from a bakery to taste as if it was from a box. The most recent custom cake was like a rock when we used a knife to take off the icing we saw the outside was burnt and brown/blackish. There was also a different flavor that we didn’t ask for annd couldn’t pin point what it was and it was stale which I’m not sure why. Overall it was a waste of our money for a very special occasion.
As for pastries, the place is good. The only issue was food. We ordered tacos, the tortillas were pretty bad, they were extremely hard. We ordered tortas aswell, the milanesa de pollo wasn't even milanesa de pollo, it was chicken nuggets. CHICKEN NUGGETS! The fries didn't have season and seemed overfried. Overall not a pleasant experience.
