Incredible all round. Staff are great. Food is delicious. They're always really lovely to our baby. Mapo Tofu is the best. We ate there last week and it was just perfect. 10/10
Mom and I got delivery from here and definitely enjoyed the food! Portions were good although for take out it was a bit expensive. I can’t speak on the atmosphere but they definitely delivered the food quick. Sesame chicken was probably my favorite along with the white rice and beef and broccoli.
Superb food, kind staff, and close proximity to the Hospital. plus they are open on Sundays. Update 2 years later: Wow! I didn't even realize I gave this place a review 2 years ago. So I went to this restaurant with my wife and baby a few weeks ago. Ordered some food (I don't remember the name) but we liked everything. Very clean dining area and restroom, nice American music (and not loud) affordable delicious food, options for alcoholic drinks, even exclusive imports from Asia, which is great for the experience. We will visit this place again, while in this part of Brooklyn.
In a city with thousands of restaurants, every once in a while, you find a place that is a true gem. Noodle Lane is that restaurant. Noodle Lane is clean, charming, and authentic. We ordered the Pork Soup Dumplings, Sautéed Bok Choy w Garlic, and the most amazing and addicting Sichuan Style Picked Fish. Every item we ordered was truly delicious and not greasy. BIG THUMBS UP!
HIGHLY recommend Noodle Lane for amazing Sichuan + Canto style dishes!! My favorites were the pork soup dumplings (they came out fresh, piping hot, and soup was so flavorful!), the bao buns, and the crispy wings. We also ordered a fried fish spicy dish that was also so good. The restaurant interior is clean and with nice tables/decor, making it the perfect spot for a casual date spot or catch up with friends. Our waitress, Erin, was so sweet and attentive!! She was so friendly and made our first experience here so wonderful, will definitely be back.
Tried their Rice Noodles Dan Style with pork at their stand for Smorgasbord. The dish is reasonably priced (about $15) for the portion. The pork is slightly spicy and gives the bouncy noodles a nice glaze. I recommend adding extra hoisin so that each noodle is packed with flavor. Great dish at an excellent stand
While exploring Park Slope on a picturesque winter day at Prospect Park, my wife and I stumbled upon a charming restaurant that piqued our interest. Hungry and curious, we decided to explore its offerings. Upon entering, we were warmly welcomed by two fantastic hosts who remained attentive and accommodating throughout our visit. The restaurant featured a narrow dining area with a large glass window at the end, providing a glimpse into the kitchen where an elderly Asian lady, adorned with a white mask and kitchen cap, skillfully kneaded a giant ball of dough. Her precise movements as she handcrafted each dumpling were captivating. The anticipation grew as we wondered, "How good can the dumplings really be?" For the appetizer, on this chilly winter day, the waiter recommended the crab and pork soup dumplings and the pork and chives pan-fried dumplings. The soup dumplings, presented in a bamboo basket straight from the steamer, released a warm aroma as we opened them, setting the stage for a delightful dining experience. The dumplings, though small, had a satisfying heft. Biting into the delicate pouches, we were greeted with a warm and flavorful combination of crab and pork. The skin was perfectly balanced—thick enough not to break when picked up, yet thin enough to maintain its shape when steamed. The pork and chives pan-fried dumplings, adorned with fresh green onions and black sesame seeds, offered a delightful contrast with a moist, savory center and a satisfying crunch from the golden sear. Moving on to dinner, our craving for something spicy and soupy led us to order the pickled fish and the Mala Dry Pot with marbled beef. Surprisingly, the Mala Dry Pot turned out to be a highlight of the evening, with its spicy flavors blending seamlessly with fried tofu, soft cauliflower, and lotus root. The pickled fish, a chef's special served in a bubbling cauldron, provided a sensory journey from savory to tangy, with the Sichuan pepper corn delivering a subtle numbing sensation. The light, perfectly cooked fish complemented the delicate flavors of the soup. In conclusion, our serendipitous find, Noodle Lane, proved to be a staple in the Park Slope community. The restaurant's attention to detail and the exquisite flavors of its dishes pay homage to the diverse culinary landscape.
Yessss my happy anticipation of their opening paid off. Legit Chinese food in the hood! The shrimp and pork dumpling with its accompanied sauce was sooo good. First thing you notice is the dumpling "skin" is thin not the thick kind you find at majority of other Asian restaurants. This is the best and hard to find. Highlights the actual food and not feel like chewing through so much dough. Had a conversation with the owner and she shared my same sentiments about dumpling skin and lack of good Chinese food representation around here. The string beans had a nice crispness to them and not overly saucy yet still having that delicious flavor with minced pork and garlic, which again is hard to come by. Great to see the chef isn't one to rest on her laurels as she continued to perfect her dishes and menu as it's a full go now. Surprisingly very spacious interior and didn't feel cramped like your typical NYC restaurant. If this is things to come, I will be frequenting here a lot. I'm glad they chose to make a restaurant here!
Great quality food. The prices are on point. Very fresh! My favorite was the hand made Pork Soup Dumplings and I loved the Shrimp and noodle soup with bok choy! The staff was efficient and friendly and very knowledgeable. I can never say enough about a clean food establishment. VERY clean. I loved it!
Let me preface this by saying I have eaten Chinese food - specifically Cantonese food all of my life, or as my dad would just call it, food. My father owned a restaurant in Chinatown, so I think I’m qualified to leave an impactful review. I ordered the wonton noodle soup, pan fried pork and chive dumplings and pork soup dumplings. Wonton noodle soup - first, the veggies. Bok choi was cut up in a thoughtful way. Wontons - just the right amount of shrimp to give it the right chew to it. The broth made me really go back to Chinatown, which warmed my soul. Pan fried pork and chive dumplings - nice crisp on the outside, filled skillfully to the brim, and great dipping sauce. Soup dumplings left a little to be desired, but still solid. I didn’t get a dipping sauce for this? Vibe - open window kitchen ala DTF. I love it. The food is good clean food and they aren’t afraid to show it. I’ve been waiting for something like this in the neighborhood. See you soon.
This is some of the best Chinese food in Park Slope, I won’t ever question that. I think the price is on the high side for the portion sizes. The interior is clean but there really isn’t any type of vibe to the place. Went here for dinner for kid’s birthday dinner and spent $175 (taxes and tip included in that) for a party of four. They charged a plating fee for the cake we brought too. We still came back the following month to celebrate another child’s birthday but decided to cut the cake at home. Lesson learned!
the soup dumplings and peanut noodles were good.
Excellent food. Some portions a little small for the amount you're paying. It kind of stings knowing you can get the same food for a fraction in chinatown but you won't get heartburn here and the interior is nice/upscale.
I’ve passed by Noodle Lane for years and I always wanted to stop by so I’m glad I finally did. The vibe inside is more upscale than I thought though very comfortable. We tried some basic dishes and were not disappointed. The General Tso’s was good but a bit too rich in sauce in my opinion. I’d definitely recommend this place for take out which I’m planning on ordering from in the future to try out some more dishes.
I took a chance coming here just because I wanted noodle soup. But I got here and found out it wasn't the new soup place I thought it I would enjoy because they only have one soup. So I have that soup I wasn't going anywhere else because I had to have soup. So when the soup came out it wasn't flavorful at all I informed the waiter and it was immediately bought back to the kitchen come to find out it was a mistake made no big deal. We as humans are human beings we make mistake somebody forgot to put the flavoring in it's not a big deal. So when they bought the suit back out it was piping hot just like I like my food. The flavors were awake inside that bowl dancing around like hot jelly beans on a melting stove. Omg It was so good The broccoli was just tender enough so you get a little snap when you bite into it and I enjoyed the noodles the noodles were nice and cooked perfectly not broken up. I don't think you can really mess up rice noodles because they're so broad I think I had rice news I forgot nonetheless moving right along I also had a bun It was a place rose pork belly bun and the taste was shocking I didn't expect it to be savory I expected it to be a little sweeter than it was but nonetheless it was different. I finally had a chance to try something different and the neighborhood I grew up in. The ambience was nice and clean and not very Asian like but that's okay we are modern people nowadays we don't have to be like everybody else. As a little straight back coming in I noticed that I saw movement that was the kitchen It was a big window and if you look straight into the window at a certain time when the light is right or on you'll see the workers and everyone back there helps to make sure your meal is presented to you in a great fashion. I like the idea that they had women cooking in the kitchen I love it off to when I'm at the Asian restaurant I only see men cooking. The price was reasonable. Hospitality was great both the female and male waiter waited my table without any pressure on me hurrying my food . Speaking now about hurrying or putting pressure I'm glad that they had the safety information by the bathroom I think that's very important to have these notifications up just in case someone needs to help save a life. What better place to look for it then by the bathroom. I can't give a five star because I have not tried more than eight dishes so yes that means I must return right? Of course and I certainly will All I'm asking guys please can you place on a few more soup dishes? Soups are very important soup lives matters! Other than that great job
Food was Good 👍 I dined in and took some food home as well. I was pretty impressed when I first arrived but boy oh boy, the staff watch your every move there 😏 hover over you the whole time while your eating SMH. This is America 🇺🇸 No one wants to be watched like a criminal while enjoying a simple meal! I felt rushed while eating 😪 Very unfair after paying a 98 dollar tab and tipping. Please give your guest/customers space to enjoy there meal #NOODLELANE
Value for the cost is simply not there. You’re paying for the upscale interior essentially. The food is below mid-tier for authentic chinese food, which would be okay if the prices weren’t so inflated. We ordered the Pickled Fish, Drypot Cauliflower and Beef Noodle Soup which was $95 including a 20% tip. All were good enough but somewhat disappointing overall. Won’t come back unless it’s for takeout and I have a serious craving.
I had really high expectations because it was rated so high. The cost was extremely expensive for Chinese food in this area but sadly it was not worth it. The noodles were good, but the sesame chicken was a let down. For a $27 dish, it was very disappointing. The price does not match the quality or quantity.
This place was so bad. The service was okay; they were nice but pretty inattentive. The food was so flavorless and unimpressive, but the most egregious part was the ratio of protein and veg. I ordered the shrimp lo mein and there were maybe 8 baby shrimp, next to no vegetables, and the most bland noodles I’ve ever had. My partner ordered the garlic chicken, which had the smallest amount of chicken and what I would equate to about 3 whole bell peppers. We shared the chili vinaigrette pork dumplings, which were also bland and flavorless. We both walked away still hungry. Nearly $60 for the most unimpressive “Chinese food” I’ve ever had. We easily could’ve gotten something far more flavorful for far less at most Chinese joints down the street.
