Don’t you ever disrespect me and give this place less than 5 stars. The chicken stew and rotisserie are fuego (thats Spanish, for “the best”).
Great variety of food, great taste and flavor and a good customer service. I had a good experience, I will recommend it to anyone who wants to have a good time.
I am greatly satisfied with the food because the price is right the amount is right and the workers are right as well. I definitely will be going there for my food. Thank you so much.
I have entered this place before its renovation i would go every Saturday with my family.I first ate there when i was 12 now im 18 i have been in and out of this place for 7 years. The food is fantastic.Pay attention and youll notice the good vibes it brings, theres music theres people laughing, theres people dancing a lil. This food is soul food for me.My grandma loved eating there she always ate garlic shrimp.Since she passed i always go in and remember having good memories with her. This place has hit home for me.
My dad brought me to this place for the first time while I was visiting. This is his go-to place. The food was amazing and the servings were big.
For an Italian, this is hands down the BEST Spanish food I have ever had. It's better than what I had in Miami.
This place is great, food is always fresh and tasty and they are nice and professional. Price is really fair, just no complaints. Thanks!
It is a really nice place but I will honestly say that it is too noisy, in my personal opinion, since I like to actually go out, eat and enjoy what I eat or go with friends or family to actually have a quality time that is not possible, since the music is too loud.
The food and service here is always great 👍
The food here is real good. I've been here many times and never had food that wasn't tasty or sloppily made. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Only drawback is finding an open table lol. The food is that good
This place got a major facelift. Great Dominican style food in this area is hard to find and this place has it in style. Service great. Value for your money great. Very satisfied. I will be returning.
I enjoyed the food immensely period it's delicious fresh hot and always readily available.
This is a must go place. Food is well seasoned. It's all that you expect and more. The chicken is truly fingerr licking good. Very inexpensive for the amount of food served.
The food here is A1! Parking out front sucks, but that's the only negative about this restaurant... If you like rotisserie chicken, look no further! I'm coming here for it first from now on! And the prices are great too!
My dad has been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile so I finally decided to give it a chance. It was late so there wasnt many food options layed out but what was left looked good. Especially the rice. They all looked delicious. I had salad and baked chicken. The chicken was juicy and a bit spicy which was a nice added kick. My father had brown rice with vegetables and chicharron de pollo. It was soooo good. The rice. The chicken. Woww. We both really enjoyed our food and would definitely go back again.
The mofongo is great and their family combos are both generous and reasonably priced! This has become our go to spot when we want good food for lots of people.
Fantastic food. My husband ordered chicken stew with rice and beans. I had beef stew with rice and beans. We got such large portions that the next night we switched. 4 meals for such a low price.
Great service, great food. A little too loud on the weekends if you're going to eat inside.
Great food and the prices are extremely reasonable. The place is always busy so good food rotation... Always fresh. Steak 🥩 dinners for $16.50 it's a steal... Huge piece of meat.😁😎👍🏼
Great place to dine at; pricing is really good and the waitresses are so nice to me and my companion. The food is unbelievably delicious and tasty.
Food is good prices are better than others in the area and the cook is on it
Forget the decor. Go for the food!!! The rotisserie chicken is top notch. Their stews are done without being rushed. Great flavors. Great quality.
Just a little crowded, but the food is great. Guess that is the reason the place is like that 😃. Definitely recommend it, staff is always attentive.
Had troubled communicating but they quickly got someone who spoke English for me and she assisted me very well with friendly manner. The food is delicious and very reasonable price. Our family will happily come back.
Amazing experience with Ricos Pollos for our catering! They were on time, the food was hot, and our 30 guests raved about the arroz con habichuelas and rotisserie chicken. Delicious and affordable—definitely using them again!
The food is excellent. They always have plenty of food to order at a moments notice.
The Food here is good always busy
It's a bit salty but the best Spanish food in sunset. I'm not talking bout my Mexican brothers they already got it on lock. But for those Dominican flavours Rico pollo know what's good trust we
I was there today for the first time and it was delicious, the service the taste of everything was aweson.I will be back anytime sooner I can.I recommended to anyone.
My go to spot!! Get the yellow rice and all of the stews are 10/10. I always go for the carne guisado or pernil, but go early because they sell out later in the evening. Prices are super fair for large portions. Don’t skip the maduros or pickled onion.
The portion sizes are really good and make it worth your buck. I would recommend the chicken options and the white rice/plantains (pollo a la parilla, chicharrón de pollo, or rotisserie chicken). Overall everything I ordered was tasty expect the steak with onions (bistec encebollado). Would not recommend their red meats as it did not taste fresh.
Me n my husband just ate at your restaurant. Everything was delicious, you have officially became our new best restaurant. I was alittle disappointed you didn't have any codfish when we ordered but I wasn't disappointed with what we did get. Please stay as fresh as you are. Welcome to the neighborhood 😋😋
I have never dined there. However, the Pernil is awesome 👌 👏. Ordered it for my Party and got only compliments. I will definitely dine there soon. Hope they save me a Table.
The food was absolutely delicious. You must get the rice and beans!!! Unbelievable! I wish I took photos but we were so hungry and it looked so good.
Lately, I’ve been having a bad streak with Spanish food.. my last 2 were mediocre and kinds made me lose faith.. a close friend and I saw this spot and he recommended it.. boy was he right! Hands down, best Spanish food I had in a minute. I’d definitely go back! And prices were great.
The food is finger licking Good delicious cannot get enough of it comida deliciosa😃🍽️😃🍽️😃🍽️😃🍽️😃🍽️
They didn't ask if the food was to eat in or to go...but other than that everything was perfect...highly recommended.
The food is delicious including the fried fish, mofongo, grilled pork chops, etc.
Amazing, on time and even with this cold weather my food still came in hot. And customs the deliver man was very polite.
Food here is good I've been cooking here for 5 plus years the cicharon de Pollo con gueso is amazing and crunchy. Price is reasonable.
Went there at about 10:30pm, and for being that late, they had fresh food coming out to the hot plates. The white rice was fresh and soft, the rotisserie chicken and pork chops were juicy, and taste was great. The beans were flavorful. And the dressing for the salad was a nice touch. I would definitely come back if I'm ever back in town and recommend you try their food here. You would not be disappointed. I believe the price was fair and worth the food, and the service.
Ate here a few times and got food to go many many times. This place is big with seating inside and now since the pandemic there’s seating outside as well. They have all sorts of cooked, traditional, authentic, Dominican meals and desserts. They have fried fish, chicken, pernil, beans, tostones, soups, different types of rices, etc. their dishes for dine in as well as takeout are gracious and priced modestly. Everything looks clean. Waiter/waitresses as well as the people behind the take out are are nice . I love this place. I get it every chance I get if I’m in the neighborhood. Highly recommend.
Looking for a traditional Dominican tres golpes breakfast? Look no further, Rico Polo III is definitely the spot. Fresh, delicious, hot food served by friendly and efficient staff, at unbelievably reasonable prices. I'm talking breakfast for two with coffee for under 20 bucks. Worth a try, you won't be disappointed. The lunch and dinner is spectacular as well. One of the best steam tables in Brooklyn!
This is my go to spot for some Spanish food! I always get the pork with rice and beans with a side of sweet plantains. The staff is nice and the price is definitely reasonable with the portion you get. The best part is that it’s open later than usual so you’ll be able to grab some food. Obviously the later you go, the less options because they do sell out. Overall great spot to try out.
Best place for some authentic Spanish food. The prices are very reasonable, good portions and very flavorful food. My go to very often!
Food is fairly good, some dishes are better and tastier than others but all-in-all food is good. Servers are okay but they do lack attentiveness. Prices are decent and portions are good. So I do recommend.
Do you want great Dominican food ? Fresh, hot and delicious? Well this is your local hot spot. Good service, nice atmosphere and music playing while you enjoy your meal.
Food was great. I already knew about the 15% tip that's added but I decided to give them some cash as well. It'll be the last time because the waitress give the reciet and the cash tip to the cashier. The waitress didn't take the extra cash tip for herself.
My review is about today, Friday, January 19/ 2024. I ordered my lunch at 11:15 am. after calling two times, I finally decided to cancel the order at 12:45 because they never showed up. The manager, in turn, told me that because of the weather, what weather I want to know. Shame of you today.
This place has pretty fantastic food sticking onions are great chicken franchise is great, rice and beans for the most part are always a fire, there are sometimes where their beans are a little too watery but that's on rare occasions but I do have to make this complaint their Cuba sandwich has to be one of the worst I've had in years Not enough pickles and the pork is unbelievably dry it was very disappointed having a for lunch today definitely do better on that one but everything else I've had good
This is mostly my husbands favorite stop. Food is good. Service is good, but some workers are slow at times. Very busy place needs very fast paced workers.
Good, possibly great. I ordered the camarones enchilados (shrimp in spicy sauce) which is typically garlicky + flavourful. Seems they skipped the flavour step this day + went for a bottle of one note hot sauce. I'll certainly try again with the camarones al ajillo + the pernil, so it's not a total loss.
Is a good quick meal place. Everything is over seasoned Feels like dry seasoning not a slow cook place.
Ordered delivered on time & accurate but the Cuban sandwich was unsatisfying. No pickle! Pernil was dry & only 1 slice of ham. No mayonnaise. Not a real Cuban sandwich. Didn't taste or look like a real Cuban sandwich. Disappointed. Maduros & pollo chicharron was delicious.
Hit n miss and too salty usually. Also we found a bottle cap in our drinks (we only ordered cans, so we knew it wasn't from us) and some rotten fish on the SAME occasion. Usually not bad but that last time I went left a bad taste in my mouth
What's messed up about this place is that give you food cold and is not fresh. And sometimes they're very good food. But you have to look what you buy because sometimes they wanna sell you the old stuff today I went into buying some chicken and they saw me the chicken. The old cold one. When I asked that I wanted the fresh one. And I waited the whole hour for it
I usually come here for moro, and chicharrone de pollo, and shrimp mofongo, but I recently had a very bad experience. I requested pepper steak, and the waiter gave me pepper pork and I ate it thinking it was steak. once I bit into it something wasn't right, it was to soft for steak. the waiter ended up telling me it was pork. Me and my husband don't eat pork due to religious reasons. the experience was really disappointing and we felt violated. The manager tried to rectify the situation by discounting the meal, but at that point the damage had already been done. I will say I like the food but that experience really made me feel sad. I hope in the future they separate the pork beef and chicken and pay attention to the order given because now we have to fast for a month.
This restaurant has the best food 🥘 but the service is poor for someone that looks like me. I sat for minutes waiting for my check. The ladies refused to clear my table. I wish they treated me with the respect I deserve. I hope next time I return I’ll be observing, managers train your staffs you just never know who is who when they comes to your restaurant.
The food is great but you can get the same thing for a better price across the street. The staff are barely paying attention to customers incase they need anything. Over all very nice place for a night.
The waitresses are too busy & you better speak Spanish or they won't understand you ..by the time you actually get your food...it's cold. Better to stand on the lunch line and take your food to go...
The food is soooo salty, like is the chicken from the sea? They’ll be nice to you if you speak spanish, how can not even one of you speak English, this is America guys
I had high hopes for this place, I was upset to see my favorite mangu place close but thought “hey you never know”. My first visit there, I walked in and saw a wide variety of dishes. Don’t ask the servers behind the counters what it is cause chances are they don’t know. It takes forever to place an order and pay for order. Everyone is in their own world in their own conversations. You better hope you don’t fall in love with their daily specials cause more than likely you won’t find it there a next time. I fell in love with this pasta dish and was so excited for Friday. I had my fiancé who speaks Spanish to call and ask if it’s available and they didn’t understand what pasta was. I walked in this past Friday and no pasta in sight. When I tell you I was upset, I was upset. There’s No consistency in menu, prices or service. I hope they can redeem themselves soon.
I just saw Ryan review which it was post it a month ago and I agree with him and it looks that they just doing it just because the manager doesn’t care about having a price on the menu and charge the customer another price, since today I went to this restaurant and I experienced the same issue as Ryan customer face a month ago and it looks that they haven’t correct their menu prices and when you talk to the manager he wants the customer to pay extra for the food and try to make it see as it is my fault as acustomer, instead of apologizing, he gets mad and try to make it see that we as customer are wrong and we have to pay for his mistake but thinking about the whole situation in not mistake from them anymore, since customers before me face the same issue and the manager hasn’t fix their issue or problem so in my face it looks they just don’t care so is not a mistake anymore is the store manager issue now. A mistake is when something is done and they are unaware of it and this problem is already being happening before and they have not done anything about it to fix it since they think they are right having a fake price on their menu and we as the customer we suppose to deal with it as a customer.
I want to start off by saying that the staff was extremely kind and attentive. That being said, the food here is actually horrible. Like literally horrible. First off, the pernil was dryer than my elbows without lotion. The beans were good, but the rice was still dry even after I poured the entire bowl of beans on top of it. The steak had no seasoning— like NONE— and was extremely tough to chew. The worst part of it all is that they served me tostones and didn’t give me salt. What kind of Dominican restaurant serves tostones with no salt? Period point blank, save your money cause I wish I had.
I brought my daughters here to eat for the frist and last time because i was a regular customer until tonight, their were doing construction while me & my family & customer were eating. had to hear wood cutting and drilling @ 8pm which in nyc construction is supose to end @ 5pm.rice,platano's were hard.pernil was dry & tasted old. Waitress was really rude, when asked if they could stop she told me to relax.never coming back here again
I used to order from them online because the food was decent, but the customer experience I received when I visited was subpar. For starters this is an extremely racist establishment that will ignore you if you are black and / or don't speak Spanish as evidenced by the fact that I waited inside for 5 mins without a greeting or any engagement. Other customers (non-black) entered and we're automatically greeted. I mentioned to them that I've been waiting here and she simply rolled her eyes and ignored me. Never ever ordering online or visiting this establishment again. You are better off visiting Castillo de Yaque across the street! Thank me later!!
Went in there with high expectations setup by Rico Pollo restaurant in Ridgewood where I used to go on a weekly basis when I lived there and enjoyed their food a lot. The Sunset Park location turned out to be quite the opposite: chicken looked like it was sitting there overnight: dry, cold and salty, chicharon was cold, mashed potatoes were barely warm, the pre-packed garden salad had dried out cucumbers and tasteless tomatoes and when I asked for dressing, they gave me white vinegar, oil and salt on the side. Not sure if it has the same owner as the Ridgewood location, I hope it does and I hope they can bring the same level of food and customer service to this place as well.
Extremely rude and blatantly prejudiced service. As a Black person who has lived in Sunset Park for over four years, I’ve been a regular customer in this community and at this restaurant. Unfortunately, every time I visit, I’m consistently ignored and skipped over…. Yesterday was the worst experience yet—the server looked directly at me, ignored me, and then proceeded to try taking the orders of two Hispanic men standing behind me. Both of them pointed me out, directing her back to me !!! clearly her actions were intentional. I will never recommend or return to this place. With everything happening in the world, it's disheartening to see other POC in this neighborhood treat Black Americans. Will be posting this everywhere …
Ordered a chicken soup at 348pm at 430 I called and spoke with someone who said the delivery guy called me three times and rang the bell. He did not. She said should send out again no soup. Then she yells at me and says call another place because he came. When I know he did not. Poor customer service and liars for delivery person. Now I will take her advice and call another place
I don’t usually leave reviews however today the girl behind the steam table was really rude. In general and most of the girls are very rude when they take your order, they act like they giving you free food. Since the other place that I used get food from is far from me I decided to come here, usually once a week. So every single time was something different. It’s okay I put up with their attitude no problem, but today I went inside with my puppy, he is a very small dog, 8 months old and 8 pounds plus I was carrying him. I was just going to order and wait outside, when one of the girls aggressively told me “ the dog can’t be here, you gotta go , the dog can’t be here” I was very confused and I told her “ I was just going to order and wait outside” she gave me a very nasty look and said “ what do you want?” At that point I just walked out. I look outside for a sign that says “no pets allowed” I didn’t see any, probably after this review they’ll put up one. I understand if someone tells me the same thing in a different way, I’ve been told to wait outside and I had no problem however this girl was completely out of line. I don’t know why they behave like that and I’ve noticed that whenever they take orders from people of their same country they are really nice, but when the costumer belongs to a different country they look at you as if you were inferior to them. So sad, I hope the owner read the reviews and fix these issues.
Poor customer service, rude waiters, specially the hand tattooed waiter, black hair with red highlights, and about 5,5 tall. I have never met such disgusting person and unprofessional person.
Ordered take out like we usually do and there always seems to be an item or two missing. Today they gave us the wrong order. I ordered a bistec encebollado and a bistec empanizado. They send 2 bistec encebollados. I was running late for work so our dinner got ruined. Did not have time to wait for my correct order. So no dinner for us. Ive given them too many chances. And im done with this place. Always disapoint. So just be careful. You may not get what u ordered.
$80 dollar order for Girlfriend's family. 25 minute wait time, our food spent 7 minutes sitting on a counter waiting to be bagged while the employees scattered away from a demanding customer. I'm sure the food is great but the wait truly spoiled it, my disappointment truly lies in the attentiveness of the staff.
Literally have the worst staff working on the phone, I call to order for deliver most of the time and almost everytime they either come extremely late or they forget a couple simple items that usually comes with the order. They always say they are going to talk to their staff but they don’t care for customers as long as they get their money. It’s absolutely upsetting and I advise no body to order from here unless you want your food cold or and order that isn’t yours. Never ordering from this horrible staffed spot again!
1st, i wanted to see they had 4 or 5 workers doing nothing, and i was the only one waiting to order. A spanish guy comes in, and right away, they ask, "Can i help you?" If i didn't say really im next, that person would have ordered before me, and i was there for a good 5 minutes . I will NEVER come back here again. Guess it's only for spanish people . Food was extremely fatty. Nothing we ordered was to what we expected in taste . The other person the food was for was Hispanic, and they said the same thing. This place is trash . I'll make sure to tell everyone how this place is
The worst Sancho they took a Latin tradition soup and turned it into dumpster water, turning every surprise meat into this legacy recipe
They say Rico Pollo got authentic Spanish food but what I payed for was overly salty I brought a large and small Chicken soup 1 large on small I gave the a 4 tip total 26.00 and it was nasty and salty I flushed down the toilet. It’s sad cause I’ve eaten their food before and it was delicious but this time around it was to salty to eat they should fire the cook soup ain’t supposed to have all that salt and the rice was equally salty! I will never eat or order from them ever. !!!🤬🤬🤬
I spent almost $100 including tip for GARBAGE FOOD I ask for grilled chicken they gave me Ham , grilled cheese on the chicken. The steak taste chewy like I’m eating Gum . The salmon is basically burnt. They don’t make the food with love they don’t care trust me if you want to waste your money and order dog food this IS THE PLACE!!!!!!!!
I was in this location last night, and the food really was great. The hospitality was just as good. But in the end our dining experience turned sour when we received the bill. We ordered #5 the "Family Meal Pepper Steak with Rice" for $25.95. When the bill was given to us, it showed they charged me $36.25. I spoke with our waitress and she said the owner changed the prices, but unfortunately the owner had not updated the prices on the menu. She was apologetic but expressed that she could not do anything regarding the bill. I tipped her, as it's not her fault. I spoke with the gentleman behind the counter and expressed my concern. He said that it was the waitress' fault, as the staff is instructed to tell all the customers of the price changes. I explained it's ultimately the restaurant's responsibility to update the menu, and that it is a clear misrepresentation and disservice to the customer to not have the correct prices on the menu. He argued with me for a good 7 to 8 mins and reluctantly gave me $8.00 back in cash. He didn't give me the correct amount but by this time I was tired, and didn't want to make a scene. Before walking way I told him to please do not punish the waitress as she did nothing wrong. He replies "we don't do that", I hope they keep their word. I also expressed they should really update the menu and he gave me a stern look with no reply. I will not be returning to this place.
