This place never disappoints. I’ve been here with my friends before, and this time I came with my husband. I tried to bring him for Valentine’s Day, but it was already fully booked, so I definitely recommend making a reservation, especially for important dates. We went during the week, and my husband absolutely loved it.🤗 The food was delicious. I always recommend starting with the eggplant Napolitano appetizer and the mini shawarmas. The Figtini cocktail🍸 and the Harissa 🥥dessert were amazing 😋 The place feels very warm and cozy, with soft Arabic music playing in the background. The service from everyone was exceptional. I 100% recommend it🔥👌🏻 Sent from my iPhone
Food here is incredible. Service and atmosphere are ok, though. I attended with a party of 7 others fairly early (around 4pm) and we were seated quickly. It seems the wait staff waits to be called over before taking any orders, which is different than what I expected, but not bad. The overall feel of the place is not fine dining, but certainly not Applebee's. It's a nice casual spot to get some really creatively prepared meals. Don't make my mistake and order a bunch of appetizers. The entree portions are very generous!
You want to experience what authors try to capture on the page when describing a meal that feeds the soul? This is the place. On a cold winter night in December 2025, a group of Manhattan gals trekked to Tanoreen anticipating a nice night out. It was life changing for me. From cocktails to knafeh, this place served from top to bottom. Do you love colorful and creative combinations of food and flavors? Check! Zaatar Mezcal Margarita? What!? Amazing. The lamb shank fell off the bone. The fatoush was perfect. We tried so many appetizers and mains and everything was bursting with flavor and texture. Was retelling the story to my husband and told him that I believe that was one of the most perfect dinners of my life. You really feel the love, knowledge, care of keeping the Palestinian food and tradition alive through the hands of mother Rawia & daughter Jumana and their entire team. Cannot wait to return. Standouts: everything on the menu. Cost: beyond reasonable for the quality
Most resturant reviews are about the food, service, and atmosphere, and rightfully so. But occassionally there is a restaurant that goes above and beyond. They realize the value of their relationship to the neighborhood and the community. Tanoreen is such a resturant. The food, service, and atmosphere are all exceptional. We do not live in NY but were visiting our kids that do. I was treating dinner for 7 of us. I did not realize that there is an automatic gratuity for that party size. I tipped $70 on top of the included $68 gratuity and did not realize it until the day after. When I called I was told the credit card billing was already submitted. They offered to refund the $70 in cash. However we were leaving and couldn't get back to the restaurant. They held the money in an envelope for my son to pick up a week later. Now that is customer service! Thank you!
I brought my parents and extended family here today and everything we had was so outrageously good! We got the musakkhan and halloumi pie appetizers - excellent. For entrees we got mixed kabobs, lamb shank, and chicken fetti - so so good. And of course knafeh for dessert it was the best we ever had. The staff is incredible and so hospitable as well. We will definitely be back soon <3
A delicious dinner in a neighborhood gem! The service was welcoming and friendly and the decor was the right mix of casual, homey AND elegant. That second part is harder to achieve than you think. Food was delicious. Half our group had the mint iced tea and the other half had the hibiscus iced tea (I can vouch that the hibiscus was great - both are unsweetened FYI). We started with the fried cauliflower steak appetizer (must get) and the special fried haloumi and watermelon salad (very delicious). We shared the Kibbie Jazariyyeh (a beef and carrot stew with kibbe - phenomenal!); chicken Fetti (like a pilaf and my favorite entree. The portion size on this could feed three easily.); and the Baked Kafta Tahini (ok...unanimously our least favorite entree of the evening). Definitely get the labeneh if available or the yogurt side - elevated every dish. We ended with the knafeh which was solid. It's far out, but worth it!
This business is incredible - we loved the catering service we received and the friendly staff who helped us feed 25 people. The meat was fresh and cooked well, the cabbage rolls were so soft and warm, and the tabbouleh, baba ghanoush and hummus were fresh. 10/10. Highly recommend for small or large parties. Definitely coming back for more!
The best kanafeh in NYC - worth the trek to brooklyn - you should go! Other dishes that were great include the grilled meats, Fetti with extra harissa, and musakhan. Get the labne it's also so good! But the cocktails are not it - but really this is a Palestinian restaurant...they're not cocktail experts.
Just went for restaurant week and it was great! The food was delicious and plentiful. Loved the fried cauliflower. It was tender in the inside and crispy on the outside. The sauce was also very flavorful and creamy. I ordered the lamb shanks was tender and paired very well with the yogurt dip. Finished it off with the infamous kunefeh. Very cheesy, hearty and super filling. Ate a bit but had to take most of it home. Very large portions. Thumbs 👍
So good! We loved this place! The sliders are such a cool idea and delicious. The lentil soup and hummus were perfect. As always, Middle Eastern cuisine has plenty of vegan options. The staff were so friendly and make you a priority - it was a lovely environment! My partner loved the mint tea!
This was my first time here. The service was above and beyond without being overbearing. Our server asked if we were ready for our entrees after we were done with appetizers. We were never rushed. The atmosphere is low light and a relaxed vibe. And the food?? To. Die. For. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. And the bonus…the leftovers reheated well the next day. I highly recommend.
Lots to say about this place, but I'll boil it down. First, cozy and warm on a cold winter's night. Two, service was excellent. Three, food was delicious and plentiful. I don't think I've had Kibbie …

Amazing food. The ambiance of the restaurant is cool. It's got a middle-eastern theme to it. Again the food was the reason for the 5 stars.
The best Palestinian food I’ve ever had! Such good service and they were so polite. The place was clean and everyone was so friendly.

First time I've ever eaten middle Eastern food. The atmosphere was so nice and cozy! The food was so fresh and flavorful!! The owner warmly rounded the tables and the staff was amazing!!!
The food is excellent. The atmosphere could use a little…warmth? My having to flag down a waiter to get a drink order is not a good start but otherwise the service was fine and friendly. There are several very good Middle Eastern beers on the menu.
This place was there on my list for a while and finally went there to celebrate my birthday. We drove down from Philly and called a few hours in advance and made the reservation. It was easy to find street parking. We were seated promptly and the food arrived quickly too. Food was good but not outstanding. Service was great and the owners were very warm. Definitely worth a try.
This Middle Eastern establishment is owned by a Palestinian and the dishes ranges within the region. We ordered an appetizer with an assortment of pita bread but the bread came unbelievably cold. My friend had the vegetarian dish while I selected their lamb dish with rice. The meat was flavorful and tasty but felt like something was missing. The food was pretty decent but on the pretty expensive spectrum for the portions and quality. This establishment does provide a home like experience and the service was a tad aggressive nonetheless the service staff were friendly and courteous.

I fell in love with this place 7 years ago. I’ve been wanting to come back since forever, but then COVID happened and I had newborns. Life takes a different approach! Went back recently. Boy were things changed.. Portion sizes are half what they used to be. Prices are doubled. Staff isn’t welcoming—just comes when you flag them. Back then it was hard to get a table. Now, it was 70% full on a busy weekend. Taste is still good. But I left satiated, vs stuffed and happy. That’s with an app and main course..
Early 6pm dinner and only 3 other tables occupied. Inattentive, but friendly staff, left quite an impression. It was the bartender that noticed us waiting and signaled the staff. Mezcal was great and Shepard beer was good too. Warm Nusakhan was tasty. Baked kibbie was simple. Chicken curry decent giant dish. Flavors were 3 out of 5. Will we return? No unfortunately. Maybe we'll try their sister location.
MEHHH \nHave had better - small portions for cost, \nPaid extra for the sauces - should be given as part of the meal, garlic sauce was not good.

I brought my husband here for his birthday and we had very high hopes given the great reviews. Unfortunately, to say we left disappointed would be an understatement. The food was shockingly poor. My husband ordered the lamb shank, which was completely tasteless and lacked even basic seasoning. I ordered the fetti with lamb, which was described as one of the most popular dishes, and it was drowning in yogurt sauce, lazily executed, and utterly devoid of flavor. It was genuinely unpleasant to eat. The date rolls we ordered for dessert were equally bad. We didn’t come close to finishing our dishes despite how expensive they were, which says everything about the execution. I’m generously giving two stars for two reasons only: our waiter was kind, and the cocktails were good (the pistachio martini and fig cocktail). Beyond that, I truly don’t understand why this place is so highly rated, and I won’t be returning. I don’t recommend anyone come here and waste their money on bad food. To the chef and management: something is seriously off here. At these prices, the food should at least be well-seasoned and thoughtfully prepared. Charging this much for dishes that simply don’t taste good is unacceptable.
I’ve been wanting to try this place for at least 7 years and I kept coming across it online in various features. I ended up in the area by chance, so I figured it was finally time to give it a try. I ordered a bunch of dishes to really give it a try based on waiter recommendations. The menu didn’t have some stuff I wanted to try. Someone else mentioned that they Chan the menu. Unfortunately the food was generally bland and overly acidic (others have also mentioned this). It was hard to enjoy as a result. Though the kibbie was the best I’ve ever had and the lamb chops were good but ultimately a very small amount of meat (1/3 of them was extra tiny and there was a decent amount of fat for that cut) for more than $40. I would’ve preferred a cheaper cut and more of it. The waiter raved about the hummus and babba, but they were honestly mediocre and a bit sour. The Brussels sprouts could have been good if not for the excessive amount of acid. The eggplant and lamb lasagna was pretty bland. The eggplant seemed boiled though it looked a bit browned. The falafel were bland. The rice/noodle mixture was okay but I’ve had better. The potatoes were just okay though unseasoned. The tea seemed to be watered down. The service was generally good, but there were some mishaps. I was not told that I had to order dessert with the kitchen closing, so I did not get to try the kanafe that I was looking forward to trying. I took the leftovers home to my husband and he agreed with my assessments (before I said anything). He had even more trouble with the high level of acid. I’ve been to Ayat/Albadawi (same owners/similar menu) several times and that was drastically better. There are people who like acidic food, so this could work for them. I might get the kibbie again, but that’s about it.
Sadly, I have nothing good to say about this restaurant. The food and drinks were very poor. The service was ok but they insisted on charging an extra $5 for paying by card. We will never go back.
