Great classic Greek diner with a big parking lot in the middle of Bay Ridge. Big bathrooms, wheelchair and walker accessible entrance. Booths for couples or groups. One complaint: Wasn't the best matzo ball soup; I prefer a fresher broth - this was more like poured from a container.
Very fast, very friendly service and exactly what you want at a diner-style restaurant as far as the food goes.
Something tells you a diner is excellent when a place is so big with many seats, yet you still have to wait a bit to be seated! The waiting time was less than 10 minutes during busy hours. There are plenty of food options, and the meal size is perfect to keep you full for the rest of the day. The Italian panini I got was delicious and highly recommended!
It's been over 3 1/2 years since I have been coming here to eat with my family. The food is awesome and staff is great. I give my waiter 100,000 stars for job well done and he also knows me and my mom. Kitchen staff and restaurant staff 50,000 stars for job well done and keep the business busy especially during COVID. I recommend people to eat here.
The food is delicious, and the waiters/waitresses are very sweet. Definitely coming back. And an extra plus, they have ample parking!
I’ve been going to this diner for nearly 20 years. Always courteous and polite. Service is super fast and tasty. The atmosphere is very family oriented and it’s always clean. The staff haven’t changed much over the years. Prices are reasonable.
Been coming here for some time, great service and good food, can't go wrong.
A great neighborhood mainstay. One of the few old school diners left in the area. The decor and interior have been updated and well kept over the years. The food is typical diner fare, very good, sometimes not perfect but consistent and reliable. Reasonable diner prices, fast and friendly service every time. Been going here for 25+ years! The wraps are really good!
I wish I would’ve got pictures of all of our food but I forgot. Everything from the service to the food to the pricing was great. Western omelet was good, Belgium waffle, pancakes and cheeseburger were also a hit. We will be back
Generations of my family have enjoyed everything from a quick meal to lounging in a booth for hours on end. The menu is beyond extensive, basically whatever you want whenever want. The food is always fantastic, plentiful and endless. Bridgeview is one of the last classic Greek diners in Brooklyn. Treasure it. The best part? Parking!!! Can’t beat it.
This is my favorite Diner in Brooklyn. Everyone who works there smiles and seems happy. Service is great and so is the food. I mostly have had breakfast and lunch. I haven’t tried their Entrees.
Excellent service! Food was good, hot and tasty. Pricing was reasonable. Our waitress deserves her gratuity and more. Bagel & Lox, cream cheese+ French toast, waffles and fruit. Ample parking and a ramp for ADA compliance.
Love this diner. I enhaled my burger ( I was starving, forgot to take pics) I've been here for breakfast predominantly and it has always been awesome. Definitely recommend this place.
Always love the atmosphere here. Service is fast and they do a great job at attending to your needs. Coffee is better than it was a few years ago. Eggs, pancakes, french toast, juice, muffins all great, I always add greens to my dish and they look and taste fresh and crunchy . I don't think I have ever eaten here and was disappointed. Always pleased. Great Price points and hospitality when you walk in.
Service was top tier and very fast. Elias was attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu. Definitely recommend coming here
Loved the wonderfully decorated diner! Food was delicious and VERY LARGE portions. Difficult to save room for dessert! Helpful, kind and respectful staff! I HIGHLY, recommend, especially if you have never been here before!!
Food, service and atmosphere is a 5 star. Best diner in Bay Ridge area. You will come back ones you visit this place.
We loved their fried mushrooms, crunchy waffle fries, and a really good hamburger. Nice little gem to eat at. Friendly owner and waitress
Very delicious food Very good service and the people were respectful
The food is fresh and very tasty. Great choice for any season.
Great food. Pleasant staff. That’s my go to place when I meet my friend in Brooklyn.
Celebrated family birthdays. The waitress was professional and polite. We weren't rushed which was gladly, appreciated. Dinning room was perfect for 7 individuals. We'll definitely return for the great service and atmosphere.
Good diner in bay ridge Brooklyn good food nice clean place and good service I recommend it.
Food is always good. Service is excellent. There is parking. The owner is on premises and is polite and friendly.
Great food and a great atmosphere with an easy parking lot!
A diner is a very specific type of restaurant and it's important that any diner stay true to what that means. The Bridgeview Diner is both classic and a model example of what a diner can and should be. First, this place is busy all day long, because they serve food to anyone at anytime. No-one makes reservations for a diner. There is even parking and a ramp if you need a little help. Like all great diners there are sections of the menu devoted to breakfast and burgers. Why? These are classic diner cuisine. Once I ordered the Cole slaw and pickle were delivered. This is how you can tell a great diner, there pickles are amazing. So much so I ordered more. For lunch I had a bacon burger and was thrilled that it came with not only fries but also two large onion rings. I love onion rings but ordering them seems decidant so to get them with my platter was nice. My server saw fast and attentive. There were always two managers (captains) keeping an eye ensuring that no ones coffee went cold or water glasses were topped. It's clear this spot is loved by local residents and I can see why. I don’t live anywhere near here but I occasionally drive by, I thi k I will add this to my spots and when I'm in the area, I make sure to come in. Oh, and true to its name, there is a great view of the Verazano Bridge.
Consistent food quality, great service, Chicken Caesar salad was very Good, combination pastrami and Corn beef panini was yummy
Sign declares tht it is under new management. Service was prompt, and food arrived without too long of a wait. Food was good. Items ordered included waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, omelet, pancakes with eggs and sausage, homefries and hot chocolate with whipped cream. One thing that was appreciated is that they quoted the cash price AND the credit card price on the bill, so you could see the savings up front and decide how you wanted to pay (~4% savings according to the receipt).
Elias was such a nice server! Made the holiday spirit come alive and made sure my allergy was fine. :) definitely request him!
I grew up on Long Island, so I am a HUGE fan of diners. And Bridgeview doesn't disappoint. Great food , staff & service. Easy to park and they have great hours too.
i love the new bridge view diner and i would definitely reconsider visiting and i totally recommend! food - i had a pancake with strawberries and it was so delicious and the strawberries were so sweet! 5/5 on the pancakes. i also had an orange juice which tasted so fresh, so also 5/5 on the orange juice! 🧃🥞 service - so i went here for father’s day, and the server told us happy father’s day as long as some other people ^_^. the waitress also refilled my dads coffee and was very kind torwards us! atmosphere - the atmosphere is very cozy and relaxing and kind of retro? i loge the blue seashell chairs .
I came here with my family for a birthday on a Friday night and we really enjoyed our experience! This restaurant is big and accommodating for large groups (we were a party of 9) and it had a parking lot with plenty of spots. The highlight of our experience was the service - thank you to our server for being attentive and constantly refilling our water cups. We were given coleslaw, pickles, bread, and crackers to start. The appetizers and pastas we ordered were flavorful and delicious. My only critique is that the prices are a little steep, but you do pay for what you get because the portions are big. I recommend coming if you’re in the area for a memorable diner experience. We will be back!
Delicious place for breakfast! The staff are very friendly. The diner offers free coffee refills. It came to $25 per person. I had an omelette with American cheese, ham, and spinach along with a side of bacon, orange juice, and coffee. The orange juice was freshly made and the omelette was delicious. I look forward to returning.
Before I headed to the airport (JFK), I enjoyed a fulfilling lunch at this well maintained Brooklyn Diner. I was immediately welcomed and served with a cold glass of water. The waiting staff and crew was nicely dressed and presented themselves in a professional yet friendly manner. I ordered the tuna melt on rye with fries and an unsweetened tea. The meal came with a side of Cole slaw. The nicely portioned tuna was a bit bland for my tastes but it’s was fresh and with the rye bread, good hearty tomato slices and Mayo dressing, I was satisfied. The only grievance I had was that it was supposed to be a tuna melt (as in cooked on a flat grill) not melted cheese on tuna on toasted bread. It was still satisfied. You won’t leave hungry and the price was perfect. I highly recommend this fine establishment. The desserts looked inviting but I was full. Plenty of parking.
First time I have been to a diner where I felt appreciated. Walking in I was greeted by a man in a suit who appeared to be the manager. He was very professional and sat us down in a seat to our liking. Immediately a waiter handed us menus and provided us with water before taking our order. While we sat looking at the menu, we did not feel rushed at all, given enough time before a waiter approached us asking us if we are ready to order. The waiter was very friendly, professional and was careful with details in the order. The food did not come out instant but it did not take long either which to me is a plus. It shows me they are making the food from scratch but not too long where I get annoyed. While I waited, the waiter brought me and my wife coleslaw and pickles. By far the most fresh coleslaw I have ever had. It just tasted right. When the food came out I was impressed. For starters, I ordered a cheeseburger deluxe. Key things to note with this order, the price was approximately $15. For the price I paid, I received a decent sized burger, with fries and onion rings, compared to any other burger joint you go to, you are either paying too much or paying the same but the burger is too small, over here it was just great, it was a steal. The taste was also on point. Not saying it’s the best burger you will ever try because I’m sure there are other places that specializes in burgers, but it tasted like what a burger should taste like. Upon completion we asked for a to-go box where the waiter took it upon himself to pack it for us. We did not feel rushed in any way, the waiter came around twice to check on us but was able to do it in a good way where it didn’t feel annoying. Honestly, I would definitely come back here. This might just turn into my usual spot from now on. There is enough parking in the back, it is not too loud inside, it just felt right.
Glad to know there is a really good diner on this area. Went for lunch today and the place was packed. Even though today is on the chilly side, the diner was busy. We wanted a booth and waited about 15 min. If we wanted a table, we could have been seared faster. It was a bit of a wait for food but you can't expect to be served right away on a Saturday. Both of us ordered burgers and sweet potato fries. The burgers were huge and the fries were acceptable. Not everyone can make these, so I was glad they were ok. I probably could have sprinkled salt but it slipped ny mind. The waiter was attentive, the ambiance was great and the food was not seasoned heavily but still tasted good. $45 for 2 with a peppermint tea. I had water and asked for room temp since it was cold outside and ghey complied. Surprised and grateful that there are decent diners in the area. Will be back!
Amazing experience at Bridgeview! Elias our server was great. Will be back to get the gyro platter!
I love this Diner, my family loves it too! Great staff always ready to help. Food is great always satisfied. Ambiance is great too, very relaxing and comfortable when with children.

A south Brooklyn institution that has managed to hold its own as diners have gone out of fashion. Family friendly. Extensive menu. Open 24 hours. Huge parking lot. Is the food the best? No. But everything is passable, portion sizes are large and prices are reasonable. Worth the trip from nearby neighborhoods and certainly a good option for Bay Ridgeites even though we enjoy an embarrassment of riches when it comes to dining options.
I really enjoy coming to this dinner. Its a great spot in town with a central location. Food is consistently good with a full all day breakfast, sandwiches, burgers and a combination of Greek and Italian dishes. I always leave full and often have left overs. Service is always really good here. There's always a regular check in and you often see the manager on the floor and people mopping and sweeping. Pricing is reasonable. There is a decent amount of parking in the back. The atmosphere is typical diner.
Portions and quality of once grandiose sandwiches are now a bit subpar. Ordering a Reuben only to have the thinnest margin of microwaved meat was a little bit disappointing their chicken Parm was a little burnt. The staff was excellent and very attentive. The old Diner ambience is never changed. There is so much nostalgia, but I think the quality and portions of the food are starting to peek through some of that old charm. But there is a parking lot in ample parking?
I ordered the Strawberry Colada for a drink. It was pretty good, and had a nice kick to it. I ordered The Queen chicken (not pictured) sandwich, it was really tasty. For dessert I had the lemon meringue pie which wasn't an actual pie but a cake. The cake was moist and delicious and topped with a mountain of meringue.
The place is a big diner, clean. And happy, it has almost every food you want.
old school. nice diner decor. food was good. much better than my horror show experience at another diner near by.
I had a great 4-star experience at The New Bridgeview Diner! Both the service and atmosphere were high-quality highlights, each earning a 4-star rating. The food was also good, earning a solid 3-star rating. This is a wonderful local spot for a pleasant visit in a great environment!
Karima was the absolute best!! if you can, sit in her section otherwise you won’t get great service.
Wonderful place to eat! Service is great as well as the food. I love going there. My one criticism is that the decor needs a little updating.
This diner's standout feature is, without a doubt, the ample parking lot. In Bay Ridge, that alone is a rarity and a huge convenience. The interior of the diner is spacious, offering lots of seating and was not crowded, so we were quickly seated despite a brief pause when no one was at the front on initial entry. Unfortunately, the quality of the experience quickly plateaued. Our waitress was incredibly direct, approaching the table only to ask for our order before promptly walking off. Hospitality was clearly not on her agenda this evening. She only returned to refill the water glass and, finally, to present the check—the sole time she offered a smile during the entire interaction. The food itself was average diner eats. It was perfectly fine and filling, but nothing on the plate was outstanding or memorable. Overall, while the lack of a wait and the excellent parking make for a convenient visit, the combination of middling food and notably cold service means this diner is just barely average.
I gave them 4 stars based on my experience at other diners. I judge diners a little differently to a regular restaurant and I am not sure why. I know the local ones do not compare to the ones you see on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive ins, and dives. I usually do not go to diners although I know that they have a new manager named John working there. John was the manager at another restaurant in Bay Ridge, and it was always great when he was working! John is very personable and treats his customers like family. I know he is committed to making the experience as good as it can be. I was told there are new owners so I figured I would give them a try. My experience is that you go to a diner for eggs, burgers, wraps, or their desserts. I read a lot of reviews for the past year or so and it sounded like many of the entrees were bland. I hope he will be able to address those reviews with the new owners and make the necessary changes. The restaurant is big, has plenty of parking spaces in the back, which is a commodity in Bay Ridge, was clean, the staff was polite and well dressed. One thing you can count on is a menu that is like a novel. You can also count on large portions. Prices are fair for most items. John explained they are open to modifying your order so if there is something you are allergic to or want to substitute that should not be a problem. John had the place running well, even when they became crowded on a Saturday night, I could see everything running like clockwork. Water glasses were filled, extra napkins were provided, and the waiters were very attentive. We started off with some waffle fries. They were very tasty, and they give you a large portion. We had the western omelet which came with home fries and toast. We also had the grilled chicken wrap and had turkey bacon. Everything we ordered was made from scratch and was tasty. For dessert we had sugar free apple pie with vanilla ice cream. We also had the rice pudding which was very good as well. I would recommend them if you are a diner person and I am sure if you ask for John, he will make sure you have a great experience.
Bridgeview Diner is a well known establishment in Bay Ridge. The diner features a spacious layout with a large parking lot. Its retro modern decor combines traditional diner aesthetics with contemporary updates from the late 20th century, creating a nostalgic yet functional environment designed for a relaxed and welcoming dining experience. From our arrival, the staff was attentive and friendly. The menu offers classic diner fare, including items such as eggs and hash browns, as well as comfort foods like cheese fries. Our order included a Greek omelette, eggs over easy with sausage and home fries, and French toast. All dishes were enjoyable, with the French toast being particularly standout. The pricing was reasonable, with three meals and three coffees totaling only $48. While it may not be a fine dining experience, Bridgeview Diner is a good chocie for those seeking casual, comfort food.
The diner is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. They have a wide variety of items that are usually prepared at diners. I ordered a cheeseburger deluxe that included lettuce, tomato, onion rings and french fries. The burger was very good. Nice portion of onion rings and french fries. The filet of sole sandwich included french fries, lettuce and tomato. Customers have a choice of bread. However, it was hard to pick up and eat the sandwich. I needed a fork and knife since the fish came out of the bread. The matzo ball soup included two matzo balls. The soup was plain and needed some additional vegetables. The chicken noodle soup had little chicken. The soup did not have noodles but small pasta pieces were substituted. Customers need to be asked if the item that is being ordered can not be filled. Both orders included french fries but no ketchup was included in the order. My order was a takeout order. Very large parking lot. The diner has late hours.
Anytime I drive to Bay Ridge for shopping I always stop in here for a quick bite to eat. Food is pretty good and prices are reasonable. The biggest perk is that there is a parking lot on the premises, whereas street parking is hard to find in this area. I am usually here for breakfast so my suggestion would be to get the pancakes!! 😃
The place has a big parking lot, a rarity in Brooklyn. Pleasant diner ambiance and excellent service. Food (breakfast) was perfectly acceptable but not special.

Food was good. Maybe understaffed but service was frantic and not attentive: always had to wait and wave down the waitress. My hot open turkey was cold. someone else sent back the tiramisu, asked for rice pudding and she said they were out of it . then I saw four orders delivered to the next table.
We were a party of 7 on a busy Saturday afternoon, seated in the back where the larger parties go and it took approximately 15-20 minutes for someone to come to our table. This was after I went to the hostess three times to let her know that we were still missing silverware at our table, that no one came to offer drinks let alone a glass of water and that we were ready to just order and get out of there. By the looks of it she was in training and quite possibly didn’t even understand English because she looked at me like she couldn’t understand me everytime I went to speak with her. I’ve managed many restaurants in my time and here’s the problem. You only had one server taking orders in the back where you sit your large parties. He had a party of 10+ that he was still tending to and a party of 6+ that had just received their food. A bit much for one person and there’s no telling if he had more tables inside the main dining area. I can’t blame him for not keeping up. That falls on management. Either way, our server was pleasant and offered many apologies. The food was great despite the wait although some things were missing or mixed up but at that point we just didn’t care. We ate what we had and left.
It was good. . Personally I prefer smaller restaurant I like quaint quiet places where service is excellent plats aren't banging together & table kept clean as you eat not everything on top of each other. The night I went we basically enjoyed our food and it was good. Bridgeview is expensive so for the price a Cafe would have been more satisfying
Typical diner but the service is very slow and just not adequate. One time the server made me feel like an idiot because she delivered half of my meal and when I asked for the rest she’s like be patient it’s coming. We often come with kids so we need service to be quick especially for them but we have to flag down the server to even notice us.
I asked for the kiser roll I got white. I asked for separate checks and we got one. The usual not paying attention. Pastrami was eh. House cab was ok. I'd go back.
Average diner, a bit hot for the summer. Food was passable for lunch. Spinach pie was pretty good, turkey soup also decent. There was plentiful lot parking early afternoon on a Sunday.
As for diners, the food was ok. Onion rings were great. Not a huge fan of steak fries. My wife and I both got burger. They were ok. Both cooked to order but there wasn't enough seasoning in each or our burgers. The coleslaw is my favorite from the restaurant. The service was good. Came quick to take our order. The interior is like any typical diner. A lot of parking. Not a bad choice if places are closed or if you can't decide what you want to eat.
This is the forgotten reason why New York’s diner is the best in USA. It’s has almost every dish minus Asian dishes.
Nothing was bad it's just when you think diner, value usually comes to mind. Inside hasnt changed for 20 years but new owners raised the price of each menu item anywhere from $2-10. I know, inflation... but these prices are alittle unreasonable for what you're getting.
Had not been here in years since the last owner was rude. His prices went up and told me he had to pay for the parking lot!! I was furious. Went a few months ago ...was hesitant..had a very good wrap. Went a few days ago..not great. Hadn't had pancakes in a long time My friend and I ordered pancakes and they.were salty! Mine had bananas? which were not sweet. The waitress did offer a change. We just ate them....but didn't enjoy them What chef makes pancakes with salt??????
This place is ok I love the food it was pretty good. I got the kebabs, it was perfectly seasoned and had tons of flavor. Also got the spanakopita that was perfectly seasoned and flaky on the outside with a soft center. And it was not oily or buttery. It's done Right. I would have given a 5 but the server wasn't at all capable of serving. Completely slow and inattentive. We had to call him over multiple times just to get him to bring us more water or napkins. He didn't ask if the food was good. And didn't clear the table for dessert until I asked him to do so and asked him to bring me the dessert menu. also there was a female employee that was yelling at the manager and every customer that called to place an order in the time we were there - which was five people. !!!!. Good food but poor service and ridiculously unprofessional employee.
We ordered a chicken salad sadwitch, one of hte old fashion food that Diners are known for, came wrapped in paper, like it was premade and sat for days. wit ha cup of coffee, the bill for his was $23.00 plus less a tip, I left my mark and hope one day we can see an improvement

Great experience at this little diner. We stopped in and had a decent meal. Old time diner ambiance and mid tier service. If we're in the area again, we'd try it again! 3/5 stars.
Old school diner. Sat us, no menu for 10min. Got an attitude when I asked for them. The waitress n servers did a good job. This place is going down by the years. After 2016. This place ain't the same. Not sure why I gave this place another chance. Save yourself and go to another spot.
I previously visited this restaurant and had a satisfactory experience. It's now under new management, and it's unfortunate that they neglect important service details. Our drinks were served in disposable cups because, according to the waiters, they didn't have clean cups (meaning they were all occupied). I won't be returning.
Horrible management. This place used to be so nice, friendly, and family oriented until the new ownership took over. Whoever runs this place now, runs a very cold place who is very rude to families with young kids without even giving us a chance to feel welcomed. Only gave to place two stars because some of the servers are nice and the food is okay, but the management is very rude.
Don't bother with this place after 10:00 PM. They say they're open til midnight, but good luck getting service. The staff are rude, and the food is mediocre. We walked in at 11:00 PM only to be told that the kitchen closes at 11:30 PM, and oh wait, no, I'm sorry, actually, the chef doesn't want to use the oven anymore so we can only order breakfast or sandwiches, which we did, and then they arrived around 11:15 PM, we started eating, and then at 11:30 PM, we were told that, no, never mind, they were actually already closed, even though we were still only about halfway through finishing our meals. Oh, and in between rushing us out the door, the waiter told us that apparently the bartender doesn't actually know how to make any of the drinks on the menu? And then he took our drink orders anyway only to return a little while later and tell us that the bartender has gone home! Honestly, for both my fiancée and I, this was a surprisingly negative experience. They're not the worst in the world, but there's another diner nearby, and we're definitely going there next time instead.
Been here a few times never had problems. Food was always good. But came here last Sat for lunch and my friend and I ordered the seafood combo and it wasn't seasoned at all. His platter also had a piece of plastic in it. The waiter also took forever to get us the check. I haven't been here during busy hours, always in the afternoon when they're not busy. So we'll chalk this one up to busy hours...
A once great diner has turned awful with bad food, service, and questionable charges. Just had the worst mussaka ever: dry and tasteless. Then charged extra for the anchovies in the "Greek" salad.

We ordered 1 cheeseburger platter and a chicken over rice dish: $75.00 total.\n\non top of that, the food was bland. Never ever again, rip off of the century. The empty booths tell the story.

Would not recommend. Food wasn't seasoned, the staff are super busy, and the portions are tiny. Not what I'd expect for the price tag.
I know this diner has been around for a long lonnggg time. I have been here multiple times. Sorry to say the food was awful. I had an overpriced open steak sandwich. Bad. Steak was too chewy and no taste. Coffee was bland. My wife had the chicken marsala which look like a TV dinner microwaved. Never coming bad. Great service though but they have a bad chef
I have been going to this diner since the early 90s. The menu is the same the decor is the same (except changes to back room for private parties) the quality of food and service has only been exactly what you would expect from a diner. What has changed is their prices. Explain to me how 3 breakfast orders, one of, 2 coffees and 2 mimosas equals $93.00. So I looked at the receipt to see for myself how the hell they come up with that price. $8.50 for a side of cornbeef hash? $6.00 for a side (3 strips) of bacon. It just gets worse from there. But FYI if your side dish is the price of an appetizer and I could buy 4 cans of corn beef hash for $8.50 at retail price in a supermarket then you are part of the problem. Out of $93.00 check the servers and bus Boys make how much an hour. I still left a $10.00 tip because that is the service level received. I understand that we are at 11% inflation (the highest ever known) but I could have gotten the exact same service and quality of food at a Dennys for $50.00. Smdh. Disgusting.
This diner changed owners and now the service is terrible. Our waitress did not get the correct orders. We were a party of 12. She was so lazy. When bringing the food, instead of serving it to us individually, she gave it to one person and had it passed around. So tacky. There was plently of room to go around the table and serve each person . I noticed there weren't as many people there as before.
They may have an “extensive menu” but “quantity” never guarantees “quality”. This diner is my last resort if I’m hungry and there’s nowhere else to go. In all the years living in this neighborhood I’ve only succumbed to eating here less than 10 times. I’ve always had their burgers and imo they were only “good” — nothing more. This time, out to lunch with a friend, I ordered the lamb gyro platter. It was beyond disappointing. It wasn’t an “authentic” lamb gyro. Instead it looked as though the lamb was mashed up with spices & God knows what; made into “patties” and cooked. They may have been a tad better if they had been broiled. It was edible but barely. My mindset, regarding my buying & cooking my own meals and dining out is …I don’t care what the price …but it better be excellent. I’ll never return here.
My omelet was cold and tiny, yes tiny, about 3/16" thick with hardly any feta or spinach in it and it was unappealingy dry. The potatoes were cold, soggy with no crust. Toast was also cold and was hardly toasted. Bacon was poor quality and paper thin, the kind you get at chain hotels with free breakfast. My wife's food bad too, soggy cold potatoes and her eggs came over cold and runny. Hers we sent back which they fixed, by the time hers came back mine went from cold at delivery to stone cold. I did flag down the manager and commented that the bacon was not okay and was very poor quality and paper thin as the was was too. His response was to say "okay thank you" and he simply walked away. I was not hostile at all either. We ate it, and it didnt taste like bacon, it tasted like chewey cardboard. So in summary, no thanks, cheapest ingredients possible, small portions, and poorly prepared. It's a shame, the old place was good, well prepared food and good portions. Not the new place. A waste of $43
I went to the this diner today to grab a quick lunch so i went inside and sat down and after a few minutes i called the waiter to place my order and i told him i want the Tuna melt and instead of potato salad i want onion rings he said that will be $2 extra i said that's fine no problem, so waiting for my order the waiter came with the food and i swear to god he brought a piece of pita bread topped with tuna and a piece of American cheese on top with no lettuce or tomato or pickles inside so i called the waiter and explained to him he said im sorry for that and i said its fine just get me the bill and i promise you i took only 2 bites from one of the halfs, so the waiter comes by with a full bill with full price of tuna melt $27 dollars and i told him are you serious are you going to charge me for the whole thing he said YES. DONT THINK OF VISITING THIS DINER ITS THE WORST AND THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I wish i took pictures but i was so pissed at the moment.
I used to love this diner once upon a time but the last 3 times I’ve been here I’ve noticed dramatic changes in customer service and overall food quality. It breaks my heart to have to even leave this review but it’s time I bid farewell. Number one, please don’t try to remember my order only to get it wrong. Just write it down. I don’t care how good anyone’s memory is, it’s just pointless if the food comes out wrong. Secondly, if I order something from the menu and you separate the order so you can up-charge, it’s sad. For example: pancakes separate, meat separate, eggs separate on the bill….i get these are hard times, but we are ALL going through hard times. The food quality has declined and I don’t get why!!! It used to be so great :( Anyways, there are so many great diners to choose from. Skip this and enjoy your money’s worth elsewhere.
Once upon a time - 20 or 30 years ago or so - this place served decent diner food at reasonable prices. Don't expect any of that now. We've tried them three times over the past year or so with very disappointing results. The food is just bad, period. I ordered a Western omelet with bacon, home fries, and rye toast. The omelet was very dry, and the home fries were soggy and flavorless; neither the eggs nor potatoes had any of the crispy, tasty caramelizing you'd want in those items. The bacon was cold, but the toast was fine - but who cares about the toast when the food is bad? My wife had pancakes which tasted like they came from the worst mix you could imagine. Even the coffee was mediocre and weak at best. On a previous visit, I'd tried their eggs Benedict - big mistake: I've never had such awful Hollandaise sauce. They made a pretty bad showing on the chicken kebab I'd tried the first time, which was disappointing because I'd been craving that old-school diner favorite from years ago. And the bill for the crummy omelet and godawful pancakes
I ordered the eggplant parm dinner by phone for delivery. The eggplant was raw, the sauce tasted like ketchup, the spaghetti was floating in water. I asked for sauce on the side, which was ignored. The orderman on the phone kept calling me "beautiful." So rude! The bread was stale. The lentil soup was like glue. In short, a waste of $30 with tip that gave me a stomach ache. I threw most of it out. Bridgeview is ok for breakfast or lunch; dinners are awful. I won't order again. I'd like my money back. New review: 5 stars. In January, I went back for a lunch with a friend and spoke with the manager Sam who refunded my money from the disappointing dinner of the previous review. Today's lunch was a delicious buffalo burger. The waiter was attentive and wonderful. I'll be back! Thank you for making me feel welcome, Sam.
Terrible experience today. i come here all the time with my family as we live very close. today my babysitter wanted to treat the kids to a special meal so i recommended they come to this diner. Her English is not good so she asked that i write down their order for her to show them. she went with my 3 and 1 year old and was seated at a table. a waitress came and she showed her the order i wrote on her phone. after this an hour goes by and no food ever came. she called me to speak with them as they apparently were not understanding her. at this point my one year old is crying from hunger. the waitress came on the phone and told me they thought my babysitter was waiting for someone and she didnt order any food. i don't understand how this happened since she showed them the order as soon as they sat down. how can they let a woman with 2 young children sit for an hour without any service??? no one even questioned if she was being helped? i am so sad and disappointed that they were treated so poorly. misunderstandings happen but to neglect service to someone due to a language barrier in this way and leave young children sitting hungry is unacceptable. -This happened 5 pm yesterday 10/3. I still feel so upset that what was supposed to be a special meal turned into my family just sitting there ignored by staff and leaving hungry. My husband ended up coming there and got the food to go which took another 20 minutes of waiting around. I was not there so im not sure how this happened but i don't understand how people can sit at a restaurant for an entire hour without someone realizing they were not being served. The explanation i received was that they thought my babysitter was waiting for someone. even if that was the case, how can you let a customer sit that long without checking back if they want to order ?? and the fact that she was there by herself with a toddler and a baby makes this more unacceptable that they sat hungry. bringing children to eat can be chaotic and i always thought this diner knew how to treat them but unfortunately not.
