Trovato at Hidden River

Started with the 1/2 bruschetta (to large pieces) and calamari appetizers. Both were delicious and well sized. Ended with veal chop Marcella and the Wagyu short rib. Both were delicious and paired nicely with the recommend wine. Wait staff were friendly and very efficient.

My husband and friends dined on a Saturday and loved every moment. The atmosphere is lovely and there was never a moment or bite that gave us pause. The chefs are artists and passionate. A special wine pairing event was the following Wednesday, not only did we all go again, we doubled our headcount. All eight of us had the same beautiful experience. We have been fortunate enough to have dined at Trovato's three times now. Every time has been a gourmet delight from appetizers to desserts. The chefs and wait staff are outstanding! If we could give more than 5 stars, we would. It is our absolute favorite restaurant ever. So worth the 45 minutes it takes for us to drive there. I would eat there every night, if I could!

We had the best dinner! Everything was amazing. The food was amazing and we can’t wait to go back. Our server was the most responsive and the most efficient we’ve had in a while! I would highly recommend!

Really delicious food and ambiance. I really enjoyed the risotto with pancetta, canteloupe, & scallops. My husband enjoyed his short rib ragu. Looking forward to making a trip back—a nice new addition for dining in the area.

Went there yesterday for a cocktail and live music, and then today for dinner. Soooo good. Excellent cocktails by Jason and wonderful attentive service by Olivia and George and Emma. Yummy from start to finish. 😋

We went here for the first time with friends of ours. Food was over the top delicious, we were visited by both chefs and all the staff was beyond friendly. This place is fine dining with a casual dress code. Highly recommend 🙂

Our group of six had an exceptional dining experience tonight at Trovato at Hidden River. This is a beautiful restaurant nestled on the grounds of a golf and casting club that provides such a picturesque setting. Our server, Ruth, made great food and beverage suggestions. She was fun and professional and positively affected our dining experience. I ordered the Wagyu Short Rib and it was delicious. Everyone raved about their meal! The Caesar Salad was a favorite. The meals were paired with amazing side dishes. . Trovato is a gem! We all intend to return as soon as we can! I highly recommend Trovato!

Wonderful food, superior wait staff, and great view! Six of us ordered different dishes and every one was quite delicious. Highlights were the mixed meats meatballs, the short ribs, and the diver scallops risotto. Our waitress, Ruth, was attentive, made on-target wine recommendations, and ensured we had everything we needed without being intrusive. The view to the golf course and river was lovely and we arrive around 5 PM to have drinks outside around the electronic fire pit. I suggest you eat early as it became very busy around 6:30-7 when we were eating our desserts. This is our 3rd visit while in the area and will definitely come back!

We were looking for a good restaurant that was kid friendly nearby. Travato fit the bill! The food was excellent! Two of us had Prawns Scampi. We were both so pleased with the meal! One of us is gluten and dairy free and the staff was very accommodating! One of us had spaghetti and this little person loved it! The fourth person had gnocchi that was excellent! We had 3 apps that were great too! Jason, our server, was excellent; very attentive and worked with our food sensitivities so that we’d have a great meal. The ambiance was upscale North Woods with tasteful taxidermy, iron and wood in an open, airy dining room and bar. Beautiful views are available of the Maple River outside the huge windows! There is seating on a large deck and on a patio overlooking the river. We will definitely dine here again!

Impeccable service by our server Tom. Food was fantastic. Perfect sear on my diver scallops and my wife's eggplant parmesan dish in addition to being delicious was a very generous portion. We will come back!

Trovato is a hidden gem. I think it has the best food in the area! The inside dining room is gorgeous-floor to ceiling windows facing the maple river that runs through the property. You can also sit on the upper deck outside, or the lower. It’s so peaceful, and never crowded I really don’t understand why!

Filet was a little tough, walleye special had no taste. Maybe was being overpowered by the sauce and so called tiramisu was horrible.

Website said happy hour 3-5. Missed that ,so we went to get dinner. We heard it was fantastic… closed when we got there. Got to do better than that. Friday night in Northern Michigan ?? We’re local. Open up!

We live locally and have had two reservations made months in advance cancelled by restaurant; one on the day of the reservation! Unacceptable!
