Great foods, great service. Very few authentic Korean food restaurants you can find nowadays. Taste is like the grandma's original Korean food cooking. And there are variety of great dishes to go with Soju...😆. Have a wonderful dinner if you visit. Thank you always for great service and great foods.
This restaurant reminded me of Seattle's "The Pike Place Fish Market," where fresh fish has been sold for decades as employees playfully throw fish around. Though this place has been open for 10 years, we were unaware of its existence. Situated in a humble shopping center with a modest square footage, you would never imagine the quality of service and Korean food it offers. When we checked in, the restaurant was nearly full, and the busyness and energy of the staff expressed their confidence and pride in their reputation. We were first served water, and the waitstaff's recommendations already impressed us with the promise of quality and taste. We ordered Braised Black Cod, and SsamJjang Vegetables wrap combination with Spicy Marinated Pork, and Bean Casserole for the three of us to share. The fresh lettuce and vegetables, including green pepper, cucumber, carrots, wild sesame leaves, and steamed cabbage, arrived first. We also had a choice between white rice and mixed grain rice, opting for the healthier option. The presentation and quantity of the food and side dishes were attractive and impressive. When the Spicy Pork arrived, we could already tell it would taste great. The Bean Casserole was also delicious. The awaited Braised Black Cod, which they were very proud of, came last. We didn’t have to wait long to encounter one of the restaurant's most popular dishes. The combination of quantity, quality, and taste was outstanding, although it was a little too sweet for one of us. The Black Cod melted in our mouths, and the tofu and radish were incredibly flavorful. We called this kind of food 밥도둑 (Thief of Rice) because it kept making us eat more rice. We were very full and ended up taking the leftovers home. The service was excellent. There might be many people who have never visited this restaurant, but there are likely few who have only been here once. We plan to come back to try other menu items next time. Strongly recommended. Updates on 5/3/2025 Today marked my second visit to this remarkable restaurant, originally recommended by my sister-in-law—and it was even more memorable than the first. This time, we ordered a wide variety of their signature dishes, including braised silver cod (은대구 조림), aged kimchi short rib stew (묵은지 갈비찜), marinated raw crab (양념게장), fermented soybean stew (청국장), and several others. Each dish was rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and reflected the restaurant’s commitment to quality. Everyone at our table was thoroughly impressed with the depth and balance of flavors across the board. What stood out just as much as the food was their consistent, energetic service—the staff moved with purpose, warmth, and genuine hospitality, which added so much to the overall dining experience. We were especially fortunate to meet the owner, Jennifer, during our visit. Speaking with her offered a glimpse into the heart and mindset behind the restaurant’s success. She shared with us that they had taken over the restaurant from a previous owner who had struggled to make the business work. Hearing this made their transformation even more inspiring. What truly turned things around was Jennifer’s vision and mindset—a powerful combination of innovation, attention to detail, quality control, and a complete renovation of the space. Her passion for excellence is evident in every dish and interaction, and it’s clear that this success didn’t happen by chance—it was earned through intentional change and bold leadership. I was also excited to learn that they have recently opened a second location in Chino Hills, which I hope to visit soon. Although there’s been a rumor about a third location in La Palma, I learned that it’s not affiliated—it’s a completely separate business. This restaurant is a true example of how a change in leadership and mindset can breathe new life into a struggling space. It’s now not only surviving but thriving—and I look forward to returning again soon.
I love this small Korean restaurant! It’s tiny so you can usually get the attention of the servers. So service isn’t that bad compared to most Korean places. Their food is always delicious! The downside about this place is that there aren’t many seats so you might have to wait. So come early!
The best place to eat if you are craving ssam! It’s a bit pricey but so worth it. If you have a large party coming in def reserve because we waited like 30 mins. (worth it) The shop is a bit run down and small but it’s not hard to find parking.
Came here every other weekend with my girlfriend before dropping her off in LA - it is now our go to korean food spot. Friendly servers and delicious food - can't ask for much else. Sure it's not in a great area and the restaurant is tiny but it adds to the experience imo - 10000/10!
Hole in the wall looking but amazing food and service. Belt fish is by far the best one I had in US. It's getting hard to find these traditional looking restaurants.
Go here if you want quality Korean food. Parking is kinda ghetto and the restaurant is really small, but it's totally worth it. One of the best bossam I have ever had in my life. Plus, their side dishes are so delicious, you can tell they are made with fresh ingredients and they use just the right amount of seasoning. Highly recommended.
Nice, clean cozy restaurant. Very nice service. I tried their short rib soup and was delicious. Coming back if I’m in town. Plenty of parking.

Language barrier aside, we understand that this restaurant caters to Korean clientele, but please make a bit of a better effort to give more information on the dishes. I mean I love most Korean food I have tried in the past, but I'm up for exploring other Korean flavors. That being said, the food was exceptional, don't care about the price, I just wish they would have had potato and apple salad too. I tried it once and I wanted to have some again. No available on the day I visited. My party guest were very happy with the food...
The food is delicious, and everyone is friendly. However, because the space is small, there's always a wait during lunch hours. My mom loves all fish here!
This is my kind of place. Smells perfect as you walk in, no frills just amazing authentic food (fwiw, we were the only English speaking table and it was legit authentic Korean).
If you want an authentic Korean style cooked fish cod entree this is a hidden gem.
best authentic korean food in Buena Park. All menu are good, but cod dish is alwasys to go!
민들레 is a nice, wonderful, cozy place. They prepare the old, traditional style Korean food, bringing out the flavors from the ingredients, not primarily from the spices. Wonderful, highly recommended. Crowded parking lot in front and the back lot is dark. But there is a dirt parking lot just west of the restaurant on a separate entrance. It has a partially closed fence in front. And the restaurant is very small and it can get cold when the door opens if you seat nearby. To go is an excellent option.
All the banchans (free) were delicious and they gave at least 6 different kinds! They do not skimp on ingredients. The main dishes were absolutely delightful and huge in portion. It feels like your at your aunt's home with warm service and loving care. Such a wonderful heartfelt experience!! Not a fancy interior... more of a soulfood atmosphere!

best authentic korean food in Buena Park. All menu are good, but cod dish is alwasys to go!
I go here with my mom and dad when they visit me from IE. Amazing food, side dishes are incredibly well balanced in their flavors and the main dishes have good portion, if you want to try authentic Korean food this place is a must try, even the dishes I would normally stay away from are scrumptious here.
Mom and pop shop vibes. We ordered the ginseng chicken, the chicken was tender. It’s a very light tasting soup, might not be salty enough for some but it was perfect for me. We ordered the boiled pork, veggie wrap and soybean soup. The veggie wrapped boiled pork was a highlight, soybean soup was ok. I like that they offered mixed rice. Banchan was a good variety. All for $57
Delicious food and good service in this small restaurant. There is definitely attention to detail here. Even still, the price is a little expensive for what you get. We were also charged for refill on the banchan even though it wasn’t mentioned to us when the server offered to refill them.

Our selection of menus were great. We ate spicy pork ssambap and main fish entree. Side dishes were flavorful and seasoned just right. I'm going to try hot pot dishes next time.

I ordered 황태구이 & 동태찌개. Both are bad taste, salty. It used to delicious food, but not anymore since an owner was charged. Moreover, waitress was so rude and too busy. Only one waitress was serving 7 tables. I don't recommend this restaurant anymore.
Came here to try them out since it's usually busy. I asked if they where open, she did a karate move with her hands looked at me with hate because I wasn't asian and she did some signs like' go away' I felt discriminated. Never coming to try them again. This business doest realize it's in the middle of a latino community so atleast trying to be nice. Bad experience. 👎
