The food is delicious, and the service is outstanding. The server even packed our leftovers when we requested to-go boxes. The staff is friendly, works quickly and efficiently, and serves the meals promptly. Highly recommended!

I had not been to Octavio‘s since before Covid. I was wanting to have a nice lunch in the dining room. But I quickly learned wait service was not available, but the deli area was open and I could get food from there and sit in the dining area. I purchased the lasagna bowl and it was absolutely delicious. The dining area just as I had remembered it and we enjoyed the gal that came by to check on us and totally enjoyed the food. Just like the old days. The dining area with wait staff opens at 3:30. I was told , we will be back.

If you love Italian food, RUN (don’t walk) to Ottavio’s! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This place is unreal. We had the Chicken Piccata, and I’m still thinking about it — juicy, flavorful, perfectly cooked. It came with fresh carrots, green beans, and pasta. I ordered angel hair, and here’s a game-changing tip: ask for extra Piccata sauce on top of your pasta. You’re welcome. Before your meal, they bring out warm bread that’s literally straight from the oven. Fluffy inside, crusty outside — dangerously good. I would come back just for the bread alone. I couldn’t help but notice that every single dish coming out of the kitchen looked like something off a Food Network show. You can tell they care about every plate. The vibes inside are pure old-school Italy — cozy, charming, and full of heart. The service? 10/10. Friendly, fast, and made us feel like family. Bottom line: Ottavio’s is a total hidden gem. Best Italian in Camarillo, no contest. Do yourself a favor and GO!

New to the area and this place is wonderful! I moved from an area of no Italian food so to have this restaurant near by is amazing. Family environment. Wonderful decor. They have all the classics and provide free bread for the table after you order. In my head it's like an Olive Garden if it never franchised so it kept it's integrity haha. We've been back and love the service and food.

Their new Italian Deli is absolutely amazing. The classic Italian sub is stuffed to the brim with meats and veggies. A ton of authentic Italian grocery items like pasta, olives and sauce. They deli also sells pizza, salads, pasta salads and has great lunch combos. My fav so far is the beef dip sandwich and the chicken cesar salad add green olives! We love this place so much we come every week. Our kids had their rehearsal dinners here. Great for a romantic dinner or family get together. Lasagna, jumbo shrimp pasta, and chops sambuca are the best.

We eat plant based so our options are limited. We usually just get Spaghetti or Penne Marinara w/salad and plain rolls. Always great tasting and filling.

Their deli is a hidden gem. A friend recently tried their jam packed classic Italian sub and it looked so good I had to try it myself. I never even knew this deli existed. Jim happily welcomed my family for the 1st time and was kind enough to let us sample some of their fresh homemade bread and a hot calabrese that I might like in my sub. Sandwich itself was both delicious & stuffed with a heaping portion of ingredients like peppers, provolone and more. (Best part is whatever you like they’ll find a recommendation fit for you in a sandwich) Definitely would be back 👍🏽

I am thankful I saw the sign indicating the deli was open down the side of the drive, and that I did not simply walk by this gem I’ve driven by numerous times. In addition to deli food, like the amazing Original Italian sub, fresh made and wrapped in the paper like the Italian market at home, there are cheeses and meats to purchase, even if not on a sandwich. The sandwich was on bread that is just right. The pizza was also great, and there are pre bake pastas, lasagna and sauces to take home and skip the work if you want to. There’s a market with goods from Italy such as pastas, sauces, sodas, limoncello, wine, olive oil, biscotti, chocolates, nougat candy and more! To top it all off, the staff were kind, attentive, patient and efficient. The gentleman who is a chef but was covering the deli counter, making sandwiches and slicing meats, etc, and assisting customers, was incredibly patient, kind and accommodating. Walk down the side of the building to find the deli and patio tables. Try it out then go again to try out the sit down restaurant in a day or two. I’ll be trying that soon!

Dinner was fabulous. The tortellini silvana is extremely generous and feeds 2 comfortably. The patio is comfortable and lovely with the plants.

First time visitor to this well-known Italian restaurant in Camarillo, California. Since 1969, but in this building since 1989, I believe. No matter the year this is the place to visit, it feels cozy and welcoming. Great little bar, and Mike must be the legend around here as bartender. I had a great experience, and all his drinks were on point. Best for last was the dinner plate. Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken absolutely blew my mind and was the best representation of this dish I've ever tasted bar none. It was so smooth and rich I barely made a dent in it. This will be the best leftovers of my life for lunch at work. So glad I tried this wonderful restaurant. I'll be back for sure.

My SO and I went here for a Sunday evening dinner craving Pasta. Our service was friendly, we were successfully up sold on our Caesar salad and they provided answers to our questions. I enjoyed my chocolate cake and Chicken Tortellini Pasta, their bread is also great. My preference is the plain roll, but my SO liked the seasoned one more. When we return, we will pass on Todo del Mare(?) as SO liked but found it to be a tad over cooked (probably due to baking) and the Lemon dessert which was rich. They were also out of the Flat bread appetizer. They have outdoor seating with heaters.

Our family just had an excellent dineing experience at Octavio's restaurant. The food and service was was just as you would expect from a fine restaurant. Can't wait to back again.

This is a great family owned restaurant and operated as such. Food is terrific and soup and salad included with meals. Picture of clown chowder that is only served on Fridays. Parking can be difficult but just continue past the restaurant make the first right turn. Plenty of parking on the hillside. Two minute walk back to the restaurant. Oh, did I mention the bread!!!

What surprise me the most is I had the macadamia crusted halibut and it was one of the most amazing dishes I’ve ever had unfortunately they don’t have it all the time so we tend to call and ask if they have it before we go. I hadn't seen two of my good friends and their wives in years so when my friend suggested Octavio's Italian restaurant for dinner I told him it was a good choice. I am a regular customer there. In fact I had either picked up a family dinner or a pizza or just stopped in for a couple of quarts of their meat sauce and a dozen rolls to complete a home cooked pasta dish at least 3 or 4 times within the last couple of weeks. Yes their food is that good. Last night's dinner with friends was great. We had a very attentive staff of servers and the food came on time and was as good as it has been for the last 40 or so year's that I've been going there. I recommend you try a different item on the menu every time you go and you will most definitely find your favorite. Old friends, great food, and an awesome staff. Oh and the environment was good too. I highly recommend you eat at Octavio's in Camarillo, Ca.

Was shopping at the outlets tonight and trying to figure out dinner and thought of Ottavio's for a pizza take out. It was 10 minutes to 8, they close at 8, and called to see if I still had time to order. They said no problem. Small pizza with olives $17-ish. Little mishap upon picking it up (they mistakenly made the wrong pizza) Had to wait a bit for the correct pizza, Jerry offered water, rolls, butter, olive oil and balsamic to pass the extra wait time. You can't go wrong with their roles so of course we accepted. They were as good as I remembered. It's such a old world ambiance sitting in there. Not only did we get what we ordered (olive) we we're also given the incorrect pizza (pepperoni) as well. (No sense in waste) Decided to have 1 piece of each for dinner, and it was delicious. Now I'm even more excited to come enjoy a full dining experience here from salads to dessert. Thank you Jerry and Ottavio's for your excellent customer service.

I only went to the deli and market, which is open at certain times. Photos have the time. I really enjoyed the classic Italian sandwich I had. It was a sweet atmosphere like a cafe, but it was only to go. Loads of good choices, and I wanna come back. Staff was really friendly even with each other. For a short period of time that I was there, that made a huge difference to me. I feel like the food tastes way better when people are happy.

Second time we were here. Good place to fill up on pasta. Reminds me of some of the places I used to eat at while growing up in the Chicago suburbs. Love the Italian dressing. Had the half ravioli with some cheese some meat and half pasta with meat sauce. Awesome garlic rolls. Lots of leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Good syrup mix on the Diet Pepsi. The outdoor ambiance was a nice start to a fabulous evening with friends/coworkers, and then onto the wonderful dinner, I personally had a Alfredo shrimp pasta magnificent . My friend had eggplant Parmigiano so good. And my other friend calamari/shrimp fettuccine excellent. Dessert was lemon cello cake and raspberry cheese cake. We shared. Yum. Great service. 👍

Nice. Classic Italian. Very casual, rather dark old fashioned decor. Tasty and fresh, but for me a bit too heavy on the garlic in the sauce...but still delicious. I had Eggplant Parmesan and my husband had the Veal Parmesan...we both enjoyed our plates. The Minestrone Soup was delicious. The salad with Italian dressing was not so flavorful, bland...but the olives were nice...they need a better Italian dressing...both my husband and I agreed. Fresh rolls came out piping hot with real butter. Our server was friendly. The decor could use some updating. Just a little side note: the Ladies bathrooms were very clean.

We found that it was very inviting here and the service was great from the workers. I think for what you get the food is a hair over priced. My wife got the baked ziti and I got spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were not very good and the pasta was decent but border line could’ve filled my cup up with how much water was at the bottom of the plate.

Great Italian right in between old town Camarillo and the outlets. The value at this place is amazing. Entree Chicken Parmigiana & Chicken Marsala $22 each and comes with soup (Wedding soup) entree with carrots & green beans also comes with bowl of spaghetti and meat sauce. I can only honestly provide a partial review as I’m new to the area and I only ordered a take-out pizza. It was VERY GOOD. I am, however, more accustomed to pizza being cooked until slightly crisp throughout. Maybe that’s just a NYC thing ? I even requested it to be well-done but it was floppy as a newborn. I THINK that’s just the way CA pizza is, however, and you have to finish cooking it at home if you really want it cooked. Not entirely sure. But Ottavios, overall is clearly a step above other pizzerias tried in Camarillo.

Coming from a real Italian, this place is beautiful they have a lil market that’s cool sandwiches are good for lunch. My wife and I were not impressed with dinner food super basic not much flavor. We will definitely go back it is the most classy Italian spot in the area just gotta figure out what’s this best to eat: I would definitely stay away from their Marsala dishes it taste more like gravy

Got a pizza and a pasta, with some calamari appetizers. Food was good, service left a lot to be desired. Waiter food not even try to be friendly or helpful. Rushed us thru the ordering process, took our order and left.... he came back to check on us 2 or 3 times in a hour long meal.... waiters from other tables filled our drinks, I asked both our waiter and the other waiter for the same thing, my waiter said, we don't have that and left, other waiter went looking and got me what I asked for. When I left, I put a $10 tip on my credit card, gave the other waiter a $20 dollar bill just for his service.

I've come here for for many years. The food is always great. Same tonight, great food. However, our waiter practically ignored us once the food came. They usually offer Parmesan but not today. When we were almost done, my daughter asked for some since he never even checked how our food was. He dropped it off while he was looking the other way, as it slid across the table. We were suddenly invisible. Same with the dessert menu. Dropped it as he walked (and looked) the other way. Kind of ruined my dinner with my daughter.

The food is quite good and it's nice to have a quality Italian place locally (even if we do drive in from Ventura). The issue is getting served! Not the wait staff... They are great. Its the hostess desk! Our first visit was OK-ish. No reservation (which was our fault), and even though we were willing to wait, we needed to keep reminding the hostess we were there. The second visit... We walked after being totally forgotten about. The hostess never advised the server we had been seated! We have them another chance as we like to support local business. It was decent (food and table service were awesome). On the fourth visit when we thought perhaps the issues were fixed, the same hostess from the first visit was working and we were aging forgotten about after 30 minutes. We are DONE! The loss of our business won't matter because our business never mattered enough in the first place. Too bad. We spend a lot of money in the local economy, but it definitely won't be here .

This restaurant is a joke to fine dining. The hours are extremely late and are unjustifiable. The food was incredibly mediocre and the marinara tasted straight out of the can! For the price of the dish I could’ve made better at home. The best thing on the menu was the tiramisu however it is not even homemade, it is store bought. My waitress kept forgetting my order, bringing me the wrong items, I also felt ignored as I had to ask 3 times for my check. The atmosphere was the best part of my experience because it was a nice busy evening and the look inside is very Pleasantly vintage. However this does not suffice for a higher score. I would not recommend this place to anyone searching for a proper Italian restaurant. You’d be better off going to Olive Garden.

First of all, the one star review is well deserved after eating at this establishment. I'll get the to the worst part in a bit. We decided to go to Ottavio's for my fiancee's bday since this was recommended by friends. As we arrived, we were welcomed by friendly staff at the front and were taken to our seats. This is were our problems started. The server was nice enough for us to enjoy our evening, but that extra "we are here for you" attitude was missing. This could have been due to the busy night he was having, but that's where the service went downhill. We waited a while to get our drinks, and we didn't get our wine until we asked the third time. Our refils also took longer to the point we weren't enjoying the meal. Now to the horrible part. The food...we orderd the seafood pasta with red sauce. The food was ok tasting, but after a few bites in, I immediately felt something wrong. My stomach was not accepting the food well so I stopped eating. A few minutes later, my worst fear came true and I had an upset stomach and spent about 30 min in their bathroom with diarrhea. I took Pepto and waited until I was ok to leave the restaurant. It gets worse. My fiancee didn't eat her food so she took it home and decided to eat her leftovers later..she shared with my daughter and immediately my fiancee had diarrhea, vomiting, chills and a fever after eating their leftovers. My daugher had a late reaction and I had to pick her up from school after she was feeling nauseous. She also threw up twice and now I have to keep her from school from what her doctor believes is food poisoning. All this from the same food we all ate at Ottavios. Having said this, we looked at the Health Inspection Report for this restaurant and it seems to fail on properly storing food and food related items to protect from cross contamination. The actual comment form the inspector states, "observed raw shrimp, raw breaded chicken, calamari and marinara sauce uncovered in the walk in fridge"... I'll add a picture of the inspection report. This was my first time here and I wanted to love it, but unfortunately, I will not be going back and will not recommend this place. I'm sure I could be an isolated issue, but there are other reviews here saying they have also gotten sick from their food. For those that enjoy this place, great! But for me I will say it's not worth the trouble.
