5 stars, but they're really a combination of 6 stars and 4... I've long known of this place, but have never gone because of the mixed reviews here and on yelp. I finally tried it, and i LOVE IT. I've been at least once a week for the covid special since. -their 'medium' is hot. El Camino thaibodia isn't, but this one is. Order 1-2 steps below your typical tolerance the first time and add spice. Buyer beware. - portions are very generous. If i plow through the covid special solo i'll easily get 4 meals out of it, and i'm someone who can effortlessly polish off a Panda 3 entree plate. The portions are extra generous considering the price- it would cost me almost as much to prepare this (worse) in my own kitchen, and i've completely stopped cooking thai as a result. -ingredients have always been fresh and cooked nicely -the cooking has been perfectly consistent (i get the same order somewhat frequently) and excellent. It's not the best thai/cambodian i've ever had, a bit oily or heavy depending on the dish, but that's a matter of taste. Considering that, very happy with their flavor profile. I'd be happy with their cooking at any venue and think the old Chef Chau's location undersells them. That place went downhill HARD. -the covid special doesn't include rice. I see it as a benefit cuz making rice takes 0 effort and you're not charged for it. I'm sure they'll sell you some. _______________________ If you're on the fence you owe it to yourself to give them a try. Be skeptical, order mild spice... but you might be missing out on something wonderful. Wish i tried them sooner. _______________________ Included photo top to bottom pad prik king- pork pad thai- tofu Char Karee Kok- chicken My fave. ________________________ edit- i hope they keep their specials long term, but even if they don't it's still great cooking for a great price.
We have been taking advantage of Thaibodia's great deals throughout the pandemic, but tonight, we ate in the restaurant. Not sure what the difference was, but even more YUM! Everything was tasty, fresh and seemed even better than the delicious takeout we've been enjoying. Personnel were friendly, professional and helpful. Can't complain about a thing.
Small restaurant. Interesting menu with Thai, Cambodian and Malaysian choices. Most dishes can be made vegan. The family meals for 3 or 4 make it quite affordable.
I've been here several times in the past 2 1/2 years, and the quality has been consistently fresh and delicious. The veggies are chunky and cooked perfectly. Our favorites are Pad See Ew with pork and Pumpkin Red Curry with chicken. The portions are generous, so we always have leftovers for lunch the next day. The place is tiny, but the staff HUSTLES. Even in the dinner rush, our food was ready very quickly.
I think I can safely say that I am a Thai cuisine experienced foodie/critic as I have gone to many Thai restaurants and cooked my own as well. The pork larb I had yesterday was the best I have ever ordered in a restaurant. The price point is comparable to other Thai restaurants in Silicon Valley, but Thaibodia"s portions far exceed the others. The shrimp in the Pad Thai were quite large and the green curry chicken has a nice variety of vegetables. The server was very kind - not a hint of rudeness. As long as this restaurant maintains the good service, food taste and size portions, i will keep returning despite the 20 minute drive over.
Really good food with huge portions. A bit on the pricy side. But if you eat how you're "supposed" to, it's 2 meals worth. The menu is a QR code on the table so make sure your phone has enough charge. They come quickly once you sit down. It's more like a fast food environment as far as your food being ready. There's basically no wait time.
Amazing Thai food and great portions! Closest thing to Thai food in Thailand I’ve found in the area. Takeout order deals are great and they really value their customers. One time on New Years we had to wait a little longer for our takeout (not a big deal) and they offered everyone from that night a free Thai tea! So sweet of them and thoughtful. We will continue being loyal customers of thaibodia
Ordered the 3 Entrees special for carry out on Saturday afternoon, Pad Thai, Basil Chowmein, Pineapple Fried Rice, all with “veggie tofu” option. The food was ready before the promised time and piping hot when we picked up. The portions are huge! Really liked that they didn’t cut corners for the “special” price. We were impressed with the amount of broccoli, cashews, and other veggies in each of the dishes. Pad Thai was really good. I’ve had better pineapple fried rice but this was pretty good too. Same for chowmein. Their “medium” is actually quite spicy. Can’t wait to try the curries next time...
Food is very delicious, everything in the menu is great and we always get the pinaple curry no matter what.
This has quickly become my favorite Thai food restaurant in the area. The Tom Yum soup is excellent as is the Tom Ka Gai. We also had yellow curry and pineapple fried rice for which were both excellent. The service was spot on and we had a very enjoyable time.
The eggplant dish here is my favorite but everything I’ve tried has been delicious. The lunch special (3 entrees for $37) is a fantastic bargain since each dish is big enough for two meals. Great little restaurant.
This place is delicious! Greatl take out with large portions. They have a 'family special' and a 'shelter in place' special that are great deals. My whole family loves this place. The garlic fried rice is amazing. Pro-tip, don't order spicy if you have kids! 🔥
Service was great and food was served pretty quick. We got all veggie items. Eggplant tofu, Tom kha soup and a Cambodian curry with rice. Def a lot for 2 people 🤣 large portion size. Will def be coming back
One of the best Thai restaurant. Good food and good price. All My family members like this restaurant foods Try to eat it :)
Thaibodia in Campbell is hands down the best Thai spot in the Bay Area—one bite of the pineapple fried rice with juicy chicken and crunchy cashews, and I felt like I was back on Bangkok’s street food stalls. The tom yum soup is perfection, with bright lemongrass and lime leaf flavors, tender chicken, and a balanced sweet-spicy kick that had me slurping every last drop. Don’t skip the mango sticky rice for dessert—it’s creamy, sweet, and the ideal finish to a delicious meal. Plus, the half-off tom yum or BBQ chicken deal for social media followers is such a steal—grab your foodie friends and run, don’t walk!
Delicious food, with all sorts of Thai food.(Not Vietnamese). Soup is great. dessert is awesome. just the space a little compact but food matters most. I like the chicken meat. This is really fresh and selection of food with high quality. Recommend if you around Campbell area.
Best Thai food is South Bay! Great vegetarian options across appetisers, rice and noodles options! We order a variety of dishes across the spectrum and they never fail to impress!! Five stars across the board!!
One of my favourite places to have a warm meal that somehow keeps making me feel home. Service is great, and there is this Mexican staff member(I feel terrible for not remembering her name) who is an absolute delight! Still, my favourite place to go to for Thai food. Also, they have some Indian sides!!!
I ordered take out. It was a pretty efficient phone order but there are a lot of options so be specific. I love that they ask the spice level. The spicy garlic chicken is my favorite. The fries are a nice touch. The Massamen Curry wasn’t as good as I remembered. Chicken seemed sparse but it was decent. The chicken fried rice is always good here. Be sure to be specific about the condiments & utensils. I recommend this place. It’s small but it actually has a nice ambience. PS Yes, that is a fork in my curry! 😭
Me and the Mr love this place. We used to go to the one in Santa Clara. Today we found out that location closed so we came to the Campbell location. Food is still fire 🔥 love the menu options! My favorites include the 31 - Tom Kha soup if you haven't tried it it's a must, garlic parmasean butter chicken with garlic fries, B4 Garlic Butter BBQ chicken spicy, 73 - egg plant basil, 40 pineapple fried rice with seafood, and the 02 fresh rolls the peanut sauce which is hella good. The serving sizes are large and will not disappoint. We oder a lot becasue we love leftovers the food is always spicier the next day. This spot is a must!!
super cute restaurant with really cute owner/employee. Food was very nice. Service was great!
Great food, great service, the restaurant is clean and well looked after. The menu selection was just right — lots of choices without being too overwhelming, and the Cambodian influence adds a fresh angle. The owner was very friendly and hospitable. Parking is surprisingly spacious. I recommend giving it a try!
Quick bite, nothing special, tofu and tea. Very polite. Will be back for something more.
Had dinner at this place today and loved the dishes. We had vegetarian dishes - yellow curry, pad Thai, pad see Wu all veggie. Loved the food. Food was served quickly and the service was good. Will visit this place again for sure.
Grabbed takeout food from Thaibodia for dinner. Placed the order online before heading over and the food was ready as quoted. We tried their three course family deal and it was enough for two people for two meals when eating lightly. We enjoyed the flavors and would definitely come again to check out more of the family meal options. Medium had some kick but not too spicy for my taste buds, which can't handle a lot of spice, so I was able to try all three dishes: pad khee mao (noodles), pad prik khing (the one with green beans), and trob char kroeng (the one with bell peppers).
All the food we ate there was pretty good. This one in the picture is fried fish and garlic fries. Which was very tasty. There red curry was delicious and had a good hot spice to it. The roti was one of my favorite. We also got some chowfun noodles with vegetables and chicken. It was pretty good to. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Thaibodia has been one of our favorite spots for a while now, and every visit reminds me why we keep coming back. We usually stick to our favorites like the green curry, pad thai, pad see ew, BBQ pork, and papaya salad. Every dish is consistently delicious and always hits the spot. This time, we came with a large group of coworkers and were on a time crunch for lunch. We called ahead to place our order, and they were incredibly accommodating. When we arrived, the entire meal was already set on the table waiting for us, which made the experience so smooth and enjoyable. The highlight of this visit was the Garlic Cajun Chicken. It was perfectly crispy, full of flavor, and had just the right amount of spice. You can order it as wings or chicken bites, and both are amazing. It is one of those dishes that stays on your mind long after the meal.

Pad see ew was excellent. The BBQ pork had great flavor but was fatty/gristly. The spring rolls were not good - overfilled, wrappers broken, lacked any flavor because it was just a tiny piece of shrimp with a bunch of lettuce/cabbage and a cucumber. Overall tasty experience and will try some new dishes here next time.
Delicious Thai and Cambodian food. Generous portions. We dined in and ordered the pad Thai, green curry, and BBQ lemongrass pork. They have some take out / delivery specials at a lower price which we will try next time.
This place has become our go-to spot for Thai takeout! During the pandemic, we ordered the Shelter-in-Place special through Grubhub, which included three entrees. I ordered everything at a medium spice level, which was quite hot for me, but still enjoyable. We had the tofu pad Thai, tofu pineapple fried rice, and spicy basil eggplant. The portion sizes were generous, and the flavors were fantastic. I really enjoyed the meal and will definitely be ordering from here again!
There's not a lot of restaurants that have a combined menu with both Thai food and Cambodian food. This is one that does. And the food is good, flavorful, and comes in large portions. Ordering is easy enough using a QR code and online app. The service is attentive, and my water glass never has gone empty!
Edit: for those who want a food review it's decent. What I mean by that is not good enough to recommend for ppl visiting far away but if you live in the area SF-SJ, I recommend trying at least once if you don't have that type of food where you live. Keep in mind I'm giving 4 stars as their average review is 4.2, I'm here to point out my experience with their employees. I've had their food and it's decent, but that's not what this review is about. I also fully understand they're within their right and I can't change that nor am I in the right to say so. Reason why I'm giving a 1/5 stars for service is because it was 12:30 pm on a Thursday and their parking lot is empty, as you can see in the picture. I wanted to pick up my take out order at hinodeya, highly recommended for ramen, and there was no parking. So I parked at Thaibodia, next door, so I can pick it up and leave. Their lot was empty, as seen in the photo, and it's a 2 minute walk from their lot to hinodeya. An employee, I assume they didn't have much work to do, was already waiting for me to get out of the car and when they realized I wasn't walking to their entrance yelled at me to leave and "customers only" which is valid. I asked if I could park there because I had to just pickup an order and will leave right after but refused to listen and verbally kicked me out. Not that they were wrong to do that, well within their right, but it left a bad taste in my mouth with how rude she was and didn't even pretend to listen to me.
Called in a to-go order on a late Sunday afternoon. Pretty steady flow of customers albeit no one seated in doors eating. Staff was quick and amicable. Good food for the price. Ordered the shrimp rice and yellow curry with rock cod (hot) and corn cakes. Corn cakes were fried a bit too long and lacked flavor but the sauce provided ameliorated the dull flavor a bit. Be sure to ask for utensils as they don't supply them without requesting.
The menu is a great mix of Cambodian and Thai dishes, leaning a bit more Cambodian. The corn cakes were rather dry. Seafood salad was yummy, with chunks of seafood. The choo chee vegetarian curry was tasty and spicy (not hot, flavorful). The Hor Mok was a bit different, still delicious. The service is a bit slow, but the staff is very nice. We recommend Thaibodia.
Simple and tasty food. We ordered veggie fried rice spicy and pineapple fried rice, red Curry veg, flat noodles veg for to go. Food was prepared on time and as requested. We had asked for no eggs. Will go again.

First time at this location. Have been at other Thaibodia locations before. Little underwhelmed with the food here. Hot pot soup(which is charged extra) was not brought with the hot burning flame underneath by default and only provided upon request which was small enough to only last for ~10 mins. Also, Basil Chowmein noodles had vegetables that were not cooked or sauted but felt raw. And basil taste was hard to find. Overall not pleased with food taste, service was good.
The price of food went up the portions went down. The flavor is lacking. I have been going to this place for the last at least five years very disappointed.
Was quite underwhelmed by the taste of the food. The basil chow mein had way too much soy sauce and I couldn’t go beyond a few bites. The quantity was good. One thing that really annoyed us were that there for many flies just hovering around our food and we spent time just swatting them away. We ended up boxing the food and going home.
My family and I ordered food from Thaibodia through Caviar for pickup. We ordered 4 dishes. All were packaged well and ample in serving size. 1. Fresh veggie spring rolls—came as 3 spring rolls cut into halves. These were delicious. There was ample peanut sauce to dip into. Shelter in Place special—3 regular sized entrees for $30 ($25 in person). All vegetarian tofu, medium spice. 2. Pad Thai. This was awful, I couldn’t even eat it. Smelled really funky kind of like fish sauce but when we called them they said they don’t use fish sauce. 3. Pad Kee Mao. Was tasty but inedible because it was so spicy. We ordered medium spice for all items and this was definitely a couple notches higher. 4. Pineapple Fried Rice. This was delicious. If you plan to order from here, this is a must eat dish. Personally, I won’t be ordering from them again since the food didn’t satisfy my pad Thai craving.
Closes at 10pm but would only do take out at 9pm
The food here is pretty objectively terrible and is especially bad when comparing against other nearby Thai options. Really cannot recommend enough that you should avoid Overall, the food just was poorly made - too little salt, bad flavors, stale ingredients.
Be careful. Like a box of Cracker Jacks...got a surprise in my Pad Thai...bristles from their steel wool. Called and and talked to Manager Jay. Though he was apologetic and quickly replaced it, I didn't feel satisfied with just that. If it was my restaurant I would have asked how to make it right. No idea what I was expecting but some attempt beyond what was given I guess. Will never go back there.
Ordered yellow curry and coconut sticky rice to go. A few bites into my curry I noticed some little black specs that I had just assumed to be spices...but alas, they were not. They were little BUGS. You can even see the legs on the pictures. This restaurant is not properly cleaning their vegetables before cooking them and sending them off to customers. This is a health hazard. Will never be eating here again, which is a shame because I've gotten food from here a few times over the last couple of years and it's always pretty tasty. Kinda horrified now to think of how many bugs I might have eaten.
