Cat & Craft is such a peaceful and enjoyable place. I came here to get some work done and ended up staying longer than planned. The atmosphere is calm, clean, and very relaxing — perfect for anyone who wants a quiet spot to drink something and use a laptop. The staff are friendly, the café area is cozy, and the cat lounge creates a unique vibe without being noisy. Their drinks are great too — especially the matcha latte, which is smooth, not too sweet, and very gentle on the stomach. It’s the kind of café that makes you want to come back regularly. Whether you want to work, unwind, or just enjoy a peaceful moment with coffee, this place is an amazing choice. Highly recommended.
Cat & Craft is such a hidden gem—one of those hole-in-the-wall spots that’s easy to miss but absolutely shouldn’t be. This place deserves way more foot traffic and love. The food and drinks are amazing, and the atmosphere is calm, cozy, and full of positive energy. What really stood out to me was the staff—everyone was kind, down-to-earth, and incredibly accommodating. I came in with my toddler, and without even asking, they brought out crayons and coloring paper so my child could comfortably sit at the table. As a parent, that meant everything. The cats are all adorable, adoptable, and full of personality. Each one is unique and clearly very well cared for. There was one 7-year-old cat I absolutely fell in love with—she wears diapers and is the sweetest little soul. For kids, cat-room time needs to be scheduled in advance, which I appreciated. You get a full hour with the cats for $20, and knowing that money goes directly toward their care makes it even better. They also have the cutest little trinkets like necklaces, keychains, stickers, and more. This is the kind of place that makes you want to stay longer—for the cats, the ambiance, and the kindness. I 100% recommend stopping by and supporting them.
We hosted a teenage birthday party at Cat & Craft. The C&C team rolled out the red carpet for the kids, were so attentive and helpful. We enjoyed coffee drinks, toasts, salad and fruit and the ream led the girls in making flower crowns. And of course we loved on the cats. It was a great place to entertain tweens and young teens.
Went here initially to visit and play with the cats but was pleasantly surprised at the coffee. The cold brew was really good and they seem to have a decent food/snack menu that I'd like to try next time I am in the area. Also love the cats and actually adopted a pair from here. Everyone was so nice and supportive throughout the process and I'm so in love with my new furbabies.
Very welcoming and helpful staff! The kitties looked really well taken cared for, and the immediate purrs from most of them proved they enjoyed the company, love, and gentle pets. We ordered our food and drinks after our kitty session just so we could watch them again from the stool by the window in the lobby.
This spot is an instant mood booster. The coffee is incredible — rich, smooth, and crafted with love. Their baked goods and fresh food options are just as impressive, with plenty to choose from whether you’re craving something sweet or savory. And the best part? The in-house kitty adoption center. You can sip your latte while hanging out with adoptable cats of all ages, getting to know their personalities in the sweetest, most relaxed setting. Amazing coffee, delicious food, and a chance to meet your future furry family member? Purr perfection.
Such a cozy place to stay with cats, staff provided food in the cat area of the cafe and were non-invasive. Always willing to help with things, and obviously knew what they were doing, on top of knowing the cats well and being able to describe their personalities, likes, and dislikes in detail. Hopefully all these cats find a lovely home, but in the meantime it's very nice to see how comfortable they are in the cafe. Food was amazing, I got a Turkey Pawnini or something like that, a matcha frappe, and a bunch of little cat-themed trinkets they have. (Socks, hair clips, straw covers etc.) I will absolutely be a returning customer and am very happy with the experience I had here! I just might not blow so much money on a bunch of stuff next time I come lol
I decided to try this cat cafe near my home as I've never been to one. I had a very stressful day and these kitty cats provided unconditional love. The place is clean and very well maintained. I tried the calico cold brew it was a little too sweet so probably I will try a different kind of coffee next time. After about an hour I thought de-stressed and more happy. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to have pets where I live. I'm so glad I came here and I think $21 is very fair for an hour.
I had been wanting to adopt a senior cat but was having trouble being able to meet ones that I had found through the Humane Society (they won't let you meet cats being fostered). When searching for other rescues, I came across Rescue House and they have a little beauty that looked perfect for us. I was able to book an appt for a couple of days later. Our girl was of course sleeping the whole time but I was still able to get some interaction. The staff member (Lynette, I believe) was soooo helpful and able to tell me about a lot of the kitties there. I filled out an application, got a call that evening for my interview, and will picking our girl up soon! Cannot say enough wonderful things about this place.
We adored our time at Cats & Craft!! We started out with an hour of playtime with the wonderful kitties ( what a fun time, highly recommend). On our way out we decided to order a bite to eat. The Toast Flight was phenomenal. Avogato, Goaty and Catprese! We sat at the bar and watched the kitties. The staff in both the cat area as well as the cafe were all very welcoming, knowledgeable and kind. Very kid friendly.
I’m not sure where to start, because what Cat & Craft helped us put together was absolutely beautiful. Cat & Craft helped us host my Wedding/Bridal shower. They allowed us to rent out the entire cafe and cat lounge area to celebrate my upcoming wedding. My fiance, family and guests were blown away by how helpful, enthusiastic and professional the entire staff were. I was in contact with the manager, Delaney from the start who was consistently responsive and flexible. Cat & Craft helped cater our event as well as allowed us to bring in our food creating a dynamic for flexible options. My only regret is having not purchased more time, because all of my guests stayed until the end and our two hours went by so quickly! I definitely recommend Cat & Craft for the amazing coffee, food and adorable cat lounge. Not only are they doing right by partnering with the Rescue House but they are genuinely my favorite cafe in San Diego over the quality of their food and coffee drinks.
Love this cat cafe! The food is delicious, tried their avocado toast, and it's so fresh and tasty. We also tried their Chipotle sandwich, and it was delicious. Their coffee is so good, too. Playing with the cats and putting them was the best part! If you love cats, then this is the place to go.
I will 100% be coming back here! It’s divided into two areas, the cafe and the kitty interaction room. You can watch the kitties from the cafe through the windows if you don’t want to buy an admission ticket - but I highly recommend buying admission to visit the cats! I reserved a spot online in advance. It’s definitely worth the $ to support this business & hang out with some furry friends for an hour. FOOD & DRINK: I had a coffee and croissant - both were yummy, the croissant was one of the best I’ve ever had! So flaky! KITTY ZONE: The cat room is nice and large, lots of places for the kitties to lounge and play. Some of them were napping peacefully but I got to interact with others, whether it was playing or petting! ATMOSPHERE: It’s relaxing and pleasant, both in the cafe and in the kitty zone. I LOVED the wall art! The people working there were all so friendly and kind to me. Whether you’re looking to adopt, or you just want a fun pleasant spot to chill with some kitties while sipping coffee - this place is wonderful and I’m excited to come back again. :)
I love cats so much. I had 3 cats at one point with 3 dogs until they passed from old age. Since losing them, it's been hard for me to be around them. I have passed by this place so many times so I decided to bring my teenagers. The food coffees are delicious. The staff are so nice and welcoming. I was really hesitant since you are relying on those cats to play with you or at least show some interest for the hour that you are there. We had one female kitty who took to us and was so spicy. She didn't want any other cats to play with us. All cats at this place can be adopted. I loved it and I would totally go back to even just watch them from the window. Great place and will be back.
Exceptionally clean, kind and welcoming staff. Fun to place to play with the kittens and adopt them. The coffee is excellent too. The parking lot right in front is a bit small but there are plenty of parking sports in a very short walking distance. All of the animals are exceptionally well cared for. They also host parties here in their front room. So if you have kids or just love cats, this is a great place to have a gathering. When you are having a coffee and snack in the main room you can look through big windows into the cat area and watch them run around and do what cats do.
Food and drink alone are worth stopping by. I enjoyed the cat lounge- lots of sweet kitties! My favorite part is that the environment is focused on cat happiness. Noise level is low, no grabbing or picking up or chasing the kitties. The cats can leave the lounge anytime to a separate space. They have plenty of high spots to get to and so many comfy beds and toys and hiding places. Highly recommend 😊
Absolutely amazing! Came here because it was the only cat cafe around. Was extremely impressed. The cappuccino was extremely good and the early riser sandwich was delicious. The building is split into 2 parts; the cafe area and the cat area. The cat area is a different room that you can pay to go into and be with the cats for a hour. The cafe and cat area are separated by glass so while you eat and drink you can watch the cats sleep and play. All of the cats there are up for adoption. Will definitely be coming here every few days for coffee and breakfast. Highly recommend coming here if you like cats or just good coffee. I also got a ice chai latte and it was very very good. Staff where also super friendly and nice. Coffee only took about a minute and the food took 3. Very quick service.
Good cafe drinks and the cats definitely get 5 stars! That said, the cat piece of it is a bit expensive for only an hour of time with the cats. Don't go at the 4-5pm block because they will feed the cats and you won't be able to interact with them. Fun experience, though! And you can enjoy your food and beverage with the cats.
This review pertains only to the adoption process - which took me through Crazy Town. Their logic behind approval for adopting cats here are incredibly contradictory and based on biased opinions. The most ridiculous thing mentioned to me about a regular kitten's needs is that I cannot adopt her if I have a full-time 8-hour day job because said kitten would immediately be diagnosed with depression. Is the manager a veterinarian? Honest question. The kitten I wanted to adopt was not listed as special needs. Furthermore, the original online post said the kitten I wanted got along great with another kitten on-site so I applied to adopt them both together. However, it was decided by the manager that they should not be adopted together for weird and excessively illogical reasons, yet again. I could list all the absurd reasons given to me but this review would be an essay. Additionally, the manager was cold as ice - customer service was absolutely unprofessional and horrendous. She was extremely passive aggressive, didn't even come and meet me on the day that I visited when she knew I would be there and I later found out that she was just hiding in the back office. I've been shopping around multiple cat cafes and rescues around San Diego and Los Angeles and all have been so warm, welcoming and helpful. Not the case here. Dealing with the manager gave me second-hand embarrassment for this cafe and judgement of the owners to allow such a person to be in charge of adoptions is questionable. Anyone with that type of behavior and attitude that's even considered to take on a manager role is odd. To top all of this off, when my friends stopped by and asked to join me on the cat side of the cafe, they told me that someone sternly stated "We're not adopting cats today," when they didn't mention anything about adopting a cat. They simply asked to pay and hang out with the cats but were denied. I guess donating $45 wasn't priority for the cafe as "We're not adopting cats today" was repeated multiple times. If you're looking to adopt at this location, be prepared to pull teeth. Seems as if the cats are imprisoned here as props for the cafe rather than proactively being placed in forever homes. Rescue House should reconsider working with this business.
