Great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food! My husband loved the 16 oz ribeye. One of the best he’s ever had! The dinner rolls are incredible and the cinnamon rolls (free at the end of your meal) were to die for!
We give the Texas Rose 5 stars for food and service. My husband had steak and I had coconut shrimp, the sides were just as yummy as the main dish. I must add that the dinner roll and cinnamon rolls were just as good as my Mom’s and believe me, that’s quite a compliment that I can not give often. God bless you all for providing an excellent restaurant in Canyon, TX.
I read the reviews and all I can say is this place is great. Wish I lived here! Christian was our server and on top of everything. Other people often came by with rolls and we never felt like we underserved (as some reviews indicated). We started with jalapeño coins. I love spicy and these do pack heat and it is a huge amount, so we opted to box up 2/3 of them. I had the seafood sampler which had a grilled shrimp skewer wrapped in bacon over rice, 5 coconut shrimp and some fried catfish. It came with two sides so I had to take half with me. All great. My husband had the jalapeño chicken fried steak and raved about it. I really did not understand why people gave bad reviews because rolls were not ready, however they are delicious and they bring them out hot. Everyone should consider them a blessing when you get them! You can eat here in the 20 dollar range. We had the appetizer and some reasonably priced wine so we spent more. Worth every cent! I saved my cinnamon roll but I am sure it is awesome also. Highly recommend… great TV’s for sports in the bar area.
First off, our waitress Madeline was awesome, very friendly and wasn't afraid to crack a joke or two, constantly checking on us and very vigilant. So if anyone eats here ask for her. My steak was cooked perfectly and was tinder enough to cut with my fork. The food was excellent. With how everything is right now it's almost impossible to find 5 star service and food and you'll find it here. We will return soon
We love coming here, can’t wait to try the new location.
Excellent Food & Customer Service, Exceeded Expectations, I ordered Chicken Strips with baked sweet potato delicious melt in your mouth and their complimentary homemade bread rolls & cinnamon rolls, yummy !!!! I wished they had one in Odessa. Tx. I would eat there every week. The GM of the restaurant was very friendly insuring everyone's drinks were full. If you get the opportunity to eat there. You will Love it !!!
Today was my first time dining at Texas Rose Steakhouse in Canyon and I will definitely be returning in the future. The hostess who greeted us at the door was very friendly and quickly sat us. The server came to our table immediately to take our order. The food came out in a timely manner. Everything was cooked to perfection and the taste did not disappoint. The complementary rolls and cinnamon rolls were amazing as well.
The fresh rolls are the bomb. And the kc steak is great! Asparagus is great make sure you get it!
This place is awesome! We are from Florida and we’re on vacation in canyon. We stopped in and were immediately impressed by the atmosphere. The food was amazing. I got the bacon cheeseburger and it was the best burger I’ve ever had. 10/10 place.
Nice place. Has a separate bar with big TVs. The food was great and the portions are nice. The rolls were really good. The service was great. The prices are a little steep but I highly recommend this place.
Went there for the first time today. Let me just say that the Texas rose steak is 100% the most perfectly cooked steak I've ever had at a restaurant. It was incredibly juicy and tender! The steamed broccoli practically fell apart in my mouth. The rolls and butter were excellent and freshly baked. My one complaint is the 12 minute wait after we sat down for a server to greet us and get out drinks. The cinnamon rolls were a nice surprise at the end! Very buttery and warm like they just came off the baking sheet!
Food was amazing, service was even better. If ever in the area - this is a must stop in and eat. We moved to Texas from the East Coast just over a year ago and have found many really good restaurants here, Texas Rose ranks amongst the Top 5...!!! Great job guys. Can't wait to get back and see you all again.
The staff went put of their way to provide a quiet and easy atmosphere for my Aunt, who is hard of hearing. Their attention to special orders and needs was superb! Bailey, out waitress was kind and accommodating. There food was delicious as always.
Food and atmosphere is always great. Service can be slow at times but I know they're working through heavy shoet staffing issues. They have great rolls to start and cinnamon rolls to finish. One of the best places to get a steak around here in my opinion. If you're around Canyon then this one of the few must stop places around.
Last evening my daughter & I had dinner at this restaurant. It was our second visit. The light bread rolls served while you wait are wonderful, as are the cinnamon rolls at the end of your meal. We ordered a sampler tray with cheese sticks, fried zucchini and jalapeños. All were tasty. I had filet Mignon steak with baked potato and bacon wrapped asparagus. It was cooked to perfection and I loved the meal. My daughter has a mushroom burger & fries and she loved it. In the past we have had their chicken fried steak, and it was wonderful as well. I highly recommend eating here. You won’t be disappointed. The place is clean and all staff are friendly. Go check this gem out. The sweet tea and lemonade were good and our glasses were always kept full with refills. My new favorite place in Canyon.
Went for the first time on Friday night. Had a delicious steak dinner. The rolls are amazing, the salad so fresh and steaks are awesome! We went back today for lunch and had hamburgers and chicken sandwiches. Left overly full and very pleased. Definitely my new favorite restaurant!
ABSOLUTE. BEST. RESTAURANT. EVER! Everything is SO BEYOND delicious!! Taylor and Berkeley (the managers) are so beyond kind, professional , inviting, accommodating and truly exceptional!! I’m so beyond impressed with their management and the whole staff is so beyond friendly and courteous!! The complimentary rolls and cinnamons rolls are to die for! Grilled chicken, bacon cheeseburgers, grilled chicken club salads, mashed potatoes, fries, sweet tea! BEYOND AH-MAZING!! THANK YOU THANK YOU!! It is SOOO BEYOND worth the drive from Amarillo!!! 1000% RECOMMEND!!!
This is a hidden gem in a small town with not many options. This place did not disappoint. Food was flavorful, service was good, and they give you amazing roadhouse style roles with cinnamon butter and then free cinnamon rolls at the end. Very very good
Great CFS, green chili CFS with jalapeño gravy, coconut shrimp and kids cheese burgers were all very good. The endless fresh rolls with honey butter were fantastic and the cinnamon rolls to finish out were wonderful. Service was very good and accommodating. I would highly recommend
I loved the food and the staff!! OMG the steak, the rolls!, all of it, so so good.
Good, plentiful food. Fresh rolls were great. Good service.
My husband and I ate at The Texas Rose last night. When we arrived, it was not very crowded. By the time we left, the place was packed and there was a line of folks waiting to be seated. Our waiter was super nice and did a great job of waiting on us. My husband had steak and shrimp and I had the catfish and salad. It was all delicious! And the rolls! Don’t worry, if you want more, they bring out hot rolls fresh out of the oven. Service was great! Food was great! We will go back!
Rio grande ribeye I was one of the most flavorful steaks I have ever had
Delicious food! Every entree came loaded! The hot rolls just kept coming. The cinnamon rolls were an added treat. The staff was friendly, kind, attentive and had excellent recommendations.
We've eaten there since they opened but last night was not good. Ordered a steak medium came out raw on one end and burned/over cooked on the other. Wedge salad was swimming in dressing, I mean way, way too much. Most of the guests in our party were not happy with the food they ordered. Chicken fried steak was extremely salty. Had to clear away salad plates/ dishes from the table as the waiter never did. We were having a birthday celebration. They weren't busy just a couple of tables with customers. Hope it was just an off night.
They have good food and a suitable price and the place is very clean
I’m so glad we found this jewel! Start off with delicious rolls. My steak was excellent! He loved his chile chicken fried steak! As she was clearing the table asked if we wanted complimentary cinnamon rolls to go. Uh, yes please!!! I hope we can make it there again!!!
After a less than stellar experience last year we decided to try Texas Rose-Canyon again and it was a 5 star experience! Our waitress was prompt with drinks, the bread/cinnamon rolls were brought around several times, our food was all delicious and it was a clean, inviting space! We'll be back!
What a great discovery! The home-made, oven fresh rolls and cinnamon rolls were worth the visit. The green chili chicken-fried steak was awesome. The waitstaff were friendly and helpful, even the sweet young lady who had been on the job just two days! While there may be other good places to eat in Canyon (like Feldmans) we will always return here!
We had the seafood sampler, it was great. We will definitely be back. Our server Austin was wonderful as well.
We had such a GREAT experience here last night! The food was tasty, the rolls and cinnamon rolls were VERY tasty! We had a little car trouble and ended up hanging out here for a few hours up until they closed. I felt bad being there that long and late but they did not make me feel bad! They were so very friendly and kept checking on us all night long to make sure we were okay and comfortable! Ashley was our server and she was beyond wonderful and amazing! She and everyone else made our stay less stressful and enjoyable! She even made my two year old happy and excited to wait in one spot while we waited for our vehicle issue to resolve! I could not have asked for a better place or better people to see! We loved our experience! Thank you everyone!
Had an awesome green chile chicken fry and the rolls are extremely tasty. But the dad gum cinnamon rolls are worth the complimentary wait!!! We had 6 adults and two kids and the food was damn good!! I would definitely eat here many more times in the future. Food is awesome. Texas oil dust bbq seasoning and ribs. I know great food.
If this were in my hometown, I would NEVER cook again. The food was delicious and our server was appropriately attentive without being overly so. My husband had the chicken fried chicken salad and everything tasted fresh. I had the chicken strips and the batter was tasty and not too greasy or hard. There was enough food that my husband actually added some of mine to his salad although it had plenty of chicken. There were fresh rolls served at the beginning and complementary cinnamon rolls for dessert. We were so full from dinner, the cinnamon rolls went back to the hotel with us and became a delightful breakfast. Even the tea was extra yummy. There was one "employee" who came into the dining room and loudly explained that the restaurant closed at 9pm. She did it at 8:55 and then did it again three more times by 9:05. Yes, we came in late and yes we were trying to hurry which did put a damper on our meal. It was very embarrassing and our server told us not to worry but the other employee came back while "on the phone" and said it two more times. However, the food was so good that even that didn't ruin the meal but she is the reason for the 4 rather than the 5 on atmosphere.
The food was delicious, the rolls were so warm and tasty! Susan, our server, went above and beyond in serving us and making sure we were well taken care of. My family and I were driving through and got a room next door on our way back home to Dallas and had dinner here. The music was good but could have been louder since I could hear other people's conversations. All in all, wonderful everything!!
Our first visit definitely won't be our last. The chicken fried steak was great... and HUGE. Terrific wedge salad. And the rolls were the best I've ever eaten...really. The manager, our waitress and the roll guy were all so friendly and attentive. And free cinnamon rolls for dessert! Reasonable prices too.
The hotel in Canyon recommended Texas Rose Steakhouse. I'm glad they did. A very pleasant atmosphere, extremely friendly staff, and great food. In addition, honesty. I stupidly left my credit card after paying the check. They had the card for me the next day. I'll be back!
Jalapeño appetizer great, steak cooked perfectly good flavor, drinks keep full, and the rolls and butter to die for.
My family took me here because they said that I needed to try their chicken fried steak. It was hands down the best chicken fried steak I have ever had in my life, and I really mean that! It was savory, a nice bit of crunch, but not too much and the spices were exactly the right amount to bring this dish to a level on its own. If you go here, then you need to try the chicken fried steak! Also, their rolls are unbelievable! Fresh from the oven and brought to your table before ordering. I could have had a meal with just those they were so good. Those were the two items I enjoyed the most.
Food was outstanding, service (from our overworked waitress who was new on the job) was good...don't know how she kept it all straight! We were a large group in a private room, so the atmosphere was relatively quiet except for all the noise we made. Highly recommend.
This is a small chain owned by cousins. They serve fresh hot rolls, great steaks, and other steakhouse fare. They make great large salads as well. This was our first visit to the location in Canyon. Our server was young and of course we arrived at the busiest time. Others, including the owner made sure we had prompt and courteous service. I had smoked prime rib (only available Friday and Saturday) it was GREAT. My wife loved her GREEN chili chicken fried steak. The sides were great. The cinnamon roll to end the meal was wonderful. We highly recommend.
Megyn was our server and she was super friendly and attentive. The Mgr (not sure exactly his title) but checked on our table twice as well. Hats off to the chef my husband and I both ordered the steak and shrimp everything was seasoned well (no A1 sauce needed) and cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend anyone who travels the the area to stop here.
we came here for dinner on our weekend trip and i can say with full confidence this is one of the best steakhouses ive been to. our server Aly was also so sweet and attentive, if we ever came back to visit we would 100% request to have her as our server again!!!
Food is delicious! Everything. The drinks are good too service is also good. Roles are perfection before dinner. Kid friendly entertainment
We drove 2,500 miles in two days to move our daughter into college, and Texas Rose Steakhouse was our first real meal in Canyon. After a long, emotional day of unloading, all we wanted was a steak and a beer. Wow—this place delivered. The food was excellent, the rolls (and cinnamon rolls) were out of this world, and the service was the best we’ve had in over 10 years. Our server went above and beyond. After learning we were new to town and leaving our oldest at college, he surprised us with a to-go box of rolls and cinnamon rolls for the long trip home—a gesture that meant so much in that moment. Thank you, Texas Rose, for such an incredible welcome to Canyon. We’ll be stopping in every time we come back to visit our kid.
Had the best chicken fried steak with a baked sweet potato and bacon wrapped asparagus. Honestly have had a lot of chicken fried steak but must say this was the best one yet! I tried the jalapeno bottle caps and really enjoyed them as an entree. Hot rolls are delicious and I had to get a box for the cinnamon roll. I was beat 😅
We were in town and very hungry. Texas Rose was next door so we gave it a try. Our server, Lexi, was amazing. She was attentive, gave suggestions and in general was the best server we have had in a long time. The food was wonderful, the rolls were WOW and we will be back when we are in Canyon.
This place was tremendous. Caden was our waiter, and he was gracious and engaging and attentive. The food was delicious, I had the chicken fried steak and my friend had a steak salad that looked fantastic. The steak was cooked accurately and was seasoned. The chicken fried steak had perfect breading and flavor. The bacon wrapped asparagus was perfect. So good. And the rolls were bottomless and so soft and warm and pillowy good. They also serve a cinnamon roll for dessert that was really good. It was a great value and great experience. I will return, for sure!
UPDATE! 4/14/2023. We love this place already. But tonight we sat in the bar and Grayson took care of us. Usually bar service is lacking but not tonight. Can’t brag enough about this establishment. Thank you again! Absolutely the best wings! Service was great. Beer prices (non special) are fair. My bacon cheeseburger was on point and my wife loved her fried catfish. The kids menu has good portions for a really good price. Make sure to save room for the complimentary cinnamon roll! We’ve been here twice since they’ve opened and will be back again.
UPDATE: we decided to eat here for lunch the next day before heading out, and OMG the chicken fried steak tastes homemade and is as good as my grandma’s! The rolls are hot and fresh with a wonderful honey butter. The bathrooms are clean. The staff is friendly and attentive. We literally have nothing bad to say and we will definitely be back! We didn’t realize they closed at 9 and the bartender was super sweet when we showed up at 8:45 to order drinks and an appetizer. The whole staff was just so nice and we didn’t feel like we were being kicked out at closing time. We will definitely be back to eat some other food because the bottle caps and chiltons were amazing!
First time to try this restaurant and it was pretty good. The rolls were soft and scrumptious. The steak was tender and cooked right. They smoke the baked potatoes so they have really good flavor. Bacon wrapped asparagus could have been cooked a little more, but it was good. I would go back.
Staff handled a very, very busy night exceptionally well. We were a funeral party of 20, our Wait staff were very kind. No mistakes on our orders and everything was clean and nice inside. Appetizers, salad and rolls were very good. Wasn't terribly impressed with the teriyaki chicken but everything else ordered was quite good. Thank you for kindness in a hard time, and for showing exemplary customer service at all times (even when there was a line of people and the staff were running!!)
Good Food. Great service. Abit hard on the wallet. Good place to take the family for a Special meal out. Go early if you don't want to wait for a table to be available and load up on warm sweet bread and creambutter while you wait. Food is good. Portions are reasonable to large. Salads are fresh. Appetizer Sampler, Burgers, Chicken fried Steak and Perfectly cooked Catfish are among the winners. Two Dining room options Sports Bar to the Right Family Dining to the Left.
We each had the KC Strip. Steaks had good flavor. Although our steaks came out more done than requested we didn't complain and ate them. I just now realized, while entering my receipts for expenses, that we we're charged $2.00 extra for ordering one medium rare. I did not know this was a thing nor did I see this posted on the menu.
Texas rose steakhouse has great food at great prices so put the pedal to the metal and keep on trucking
My son and I visited this local establishment it was the first time in a couple of years I can remember when this location was called buffaloes. I found dining areas to be clean and well-appointed and comfortable. My son and I enjoyed visiting with the white staff who are very friendly and very attentive and helpful. I am a wheelchair ♿️ patron and found the areas easy to navigate in my chair and, again, the way staff is very helpful and very courteous. The restrooms were fairly clean and a little cramped for my chair, but I was able to manage and get in and out of the handicap stall with relatively no problem. There is ample handicap ♿️ parking in their parking area, and I found the ramps to be easily accessible and easy to maneuver. Found the food to be very appetizing menu was easy to read and selection was a joy to see my son and I enjoyed our food he had a massive House special hamburger and I had the catfish all food was very delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that would like to have an evening or afternoon meal with family or friends ♿️ 🙏🏽 👍🏽
Excellent steak, cooked like I asked. And they made me an excellent Martini!
Visited w a large group, (30+) made a reservation for a rather late time frame. They had a large room ready just for us, and the wait staff was great. The food was good, and there were some mix ups, but they were fixed asap. Def a good place to take visitors to get a great bite to eat.
I have no complaints but if you order the combo appetizer you better like the zucchini because that’s mostly what you will get. We split a steak, Sweet potato, and broccoli. It was all good. The tools and cinnamon rolls were also good.
We went twice in March, the first time the steaks and pork chops were very tasty, but a little too salty for our liking. The second time the steaks were fantastic (Southwest style) Servers were friendly and attentive, unfortunately we were not offered the cinnamon buns that we had been offered the previous meal. Will definitely come back if we happen to be in the area again.
Food was great, I liked the atmosphere but our drinks (alcoholic) took forever. The drinks barely beat the food out but it was fairly busy & I'm sure the bartender was in the weeds which I totally understand. However the dining room was not very busy & our server only had us and 1 other table but she kept disappearing for very long periods at a time. My daughter finished her Dr. Pepper before she got her food and it never got refilled, nor were me or my husband offered another drink either. We got our food & our server asked if everything came out right when it was dropped off and then we didn't see her again the rest of our meal. She walked by once when we finished to drop the check and immediately disappeared again. We sat there 10-15 min waiting for her to come back and take our payment but she didn't. My husband eventually got up and asked a different server to please cash us out so we could leave. I was a server for many years and I get things get busy and no one is perfect but this server just didn't seem to care at all about her tables. I am almost 40 years old and this was only the 2nd time in my life I didn't leave a 20% tip or more. She barely did enough to earn the 15% she got. The experience would have been 100× better had our server been available to us during our meal, or at least communicated to us if something was going on
Friendly Service, the chicken fried steak good size portions & flavor.are waitress very attentive to are table. I got to check out the Bar side next time. You should try this place. Don't think you'll be disappointed
First time in, met Logan who was on his third day of training. He was so polite and already knew several things that were popular on the menu, great customer service so good on him. Bread rolls were brought out by a designated baker, they were very hot and fresh! The wait was a little long I felt, but the food was very good! I ordered the boss burger, and it was delicious, the breaded jalapeños gave the burger a nice crunch and it was cooked to a medium perfection. Cheddar cheese was nicely melted too and the bread buns were warm. All of the extra toppings were placed on the side which I appreciated. Fries were hot, but they only met the standard at lightly salted. At the end, Logan asked if we would like to try a complimentary cinnamon roll! So he got us a to go box for the road, they were very good. Overall I had a really good experience here, I’ll stop in for their steaks next time!
Our starters were wonderful, surprisingly fresh salad. We ordered a Wedge and House salad. The fried zucchini was good, sauce was fresh. Our main course we had to wait about 30 minutes for, luckily the starters were so good. We ordered the seafood sampler and grilled salmon special. The catfish was ok, super bland, but decent with provided sauces. The shrimp, fried okra, and bacon wrapped grilled shrimp were very very good. The grilled salmon was delightful, extremely tender and fresh. For a steakhouse, I'm impressed how flavorful the greens and seafood were! Service was just ok. Our waitress was attentive up until our starters were given. Had to wait until dinner to ask for water, and during dinner we didn't see them for another 20 minutes. She did give us a free cinnamon roll to finish off the night! That was a nice touch. I believe the food here is really worth it minus the catfish, and service could improve just a tad. Very good experience overall for dinner rush, just not perfect. Would definitely recommend either way!
The first several times we ate here we were really impressed with the service and the food. The last 4-5 times including today we were very disappointed in the service. Having to ask for rolls they hadn’t even put any in after we had ordered our food. Then our waitress disappeared for a while and when we finally saw her we asked for refills on our empty drinks that had been empty for some time and it took over 10 min for her to come back by without our drinks and we asked again and she said she got distracted because her mom called and was talking about her sisters graduation? the food was good as usual but then we had to ask for the cinnamon rolls after we had already paid and was told she would put some in and it would be a minute only to get the kids cleaned up and ready to go and asked about them again and she had only put one in so she was going to have to put more? this was at a very slow time also so. Very disappointed and hopefully they fix the management and actually train the servers.
Lexie, our wait staff was great and very friendly. She apologized for the kitchen mixup over and over. I think it’s rude when the managers have a meeting during dinner and the waitstaff are not permitted to bring extra bread while waiting for meal. Once we got the correct order, it was good.
This place was so loud I had to turn my hearing aids off... music and loud customers. We finally had to flag down a waitress to take our order. There were several waitresses just standing at the hostess station, doing nothing. Our salads were brought after the entrees, and we had to remind the waitress to bring them. Marmalade sauce for coconut shrimp was terrible. Shrimp was good, baked potato good, salad good, steak was good. The "roll girl" finally brought rolls when we were all but finished with our meal. Due to such poor service but good food, I reluctantly gave 3 stars. We were on vacation, but definitely would not return.
Clean, no wait time to be seated. Food, Ehhh. And service pretty much the same. Unimpressed, expected a bit better, perhaps we caught them on an offer nite.
I ordered the 14 oz ribeeye for my birthday meal...so splurged wirh an expensive $30 plus steak...the rolls were fresh and hot. Our server did a great job. The steak to me was kind of on the dry side. As I ate it, It had quite a bit of grissle...some parts were harder to chew than others. Then I found a piece that was unchewable and had to spit out. For the price of the steak, I felt the quality should have been better. I told the server and the manager came. I explained and he said he wanted to be happy about my order. He also told me that they cut their own steaks, but because they don't raise the cattle in the back of the restaurant that they don't control the quality of the beef. So they packaged me up a steak to go. It is more flavorable but still hard to cut and chew...not as much grissle but not tender. Maybe one bad steak is a coincidence but two isn't. The manager was diligent to get me a replacement, but I felt he wanted to make sure it wasn't the restaurant's fault.
First time visiting. Husband wanted steak and coconut shrimp. Our server informed us that the manager doesn't allow any substitutions at all and since the hubby doesn't eat pork and the steak and shrimp had bacon wrapped shrimp he just ordered 2 entrees; a steak entree and a coconut shrimp entree. 2 minutes after ordering the manager approached our table in a rushed manner and aggressively informed my husband that he cannot substitute anything to which he replied he didn't sub he simply ordered two entrées to get the meal he wanted. She was very confrontational and it resulted in our table of 13 being involved in trying to explain the situation to her. Very rude interaction. Additionally they supposedly have no buffalo or wing sauce for the wings and no BBQ sauce at a steakhouse in Texas. Our poor server appeared to have to overcompensate for his unprofessional, sloppy manager who should put herself together better for her job. Food was decent. Not a lot of options in Canyon but we will probably drive to Amarillo next time we visit our college student.
If the restrooms look this gross I can imagine what the kitchen looks like. Unfortunately, we had eaten first. We ordered at the bar we received the wrong food 2 minutes after ordering. We received salads and then our food still waiting for the appetizer. And again my food was wrong. It was corrected, however, by the time I received my food and the appetizer it was cold and my husband had finished eating so I just took it to go. We were given 2 extra Cinnamon rolls for the trouble. That's when I went to the restroom and noticed the NASTY DIRTY STUFF everywhere the walls the doors the sticky floor.
My first time here tonight. Got a to-go order - green chili chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fried okra. I was really excited to try the rolls which were missing from my order. I even asked the person who took my order about the rolls specifically. The steak was tender and overall was a good meal. My disappointment was the to-go containers. The food was slopped on top of a piece of very thin foil and it was difficult to eat. It definitely wasn’t appealing to the eyes. I would recommend better to-go containers for presentation and no foil under the food. I’ll give it another try and dine in next time.
This is the what I assume is the local steak house. Staff is friendly, the floor is a bit slick when walking in meaning the grease has been tracked from the kitchen and a proper degreaser hasn't been used on a floor or they are using a sanitizer as a cleaner for the floor. Bits of food can been seen in the entrance, no one made an effort to clean it. Food was pretty poor the night I had attended. I tried the KC strip with bacon wrapped asparagus and baked potato. Kc strip should have been 12oz, but that was 8oz of meat and 4oz of fat. The prettier side of the steak with the sear marks was plated face down leaving a dual grayed steak to meat me. The baked potato was the best part of the meal but the bacon bits to top the potato were raw pr cheap store bought, it only takes 20mins of prep to make fresh bacon bits for the night. The asparagus bottoms had not been trimmed giving me the a rock hard base, a very crunchy bit to what should be soft. Overall a poor night.
We frequent this restaurant often. Wednesday night the service was absolutely horrible. 10 minute wait for a drink order once seated. (Timed)! NEVER got rolls with our dinner and ask for them at least 6 times. This is uncommon but very disappointing when you’re dining with out of town guests and taking them to the featured Steak house in Canyon. We looked foolish. Never once were our glasses filled with drink including water. I’ll be back once more but that will be it if the service continues as it was on this trip!
I’ve eaten in Texas Rose in Borger Tx . On a scale of 1-10 . I give Borgers a 10 . I thought I would give Canyons Texas Rose a try . A scale of 1-10 . I give a 5 . Guess I shouldn’t compare them both it Borgers was the reason I tried Canyons . Reason I gave Canyons a 5 is my steak wasn’t the same . Was tough . Every thing else was Okay with the dinner - But the meat is why I wasn’t that impressed with the meal .
Waited 1 hour to get a grilled chicken club salad. upon asking the waiter to please ask the manager why the wait was so long the waiter informed us that there was a large table in the room next door. Apart from cinnamon rolls no compensation was offered. Not even the manager came out to apologize. Certainly ruined our evening. Other than that the food was decent.
I do not recommend coming here!!! My fiancé took me here for my birthday. He ordered a steak medium rare and it came out so RAW it was still cold. My fiancé has never sent a steak back before in his life and is not picky but raw and cold was a first for him. The ‘manager’ took it back and recooked it bringing the same steak back out very well done and half the size it started out at. He acted annoyed that at that point we asked that he just take the steak back and take it off the bill. The waitress were nice about everything but we had already lost our appetite.
Food was mediocre at best. Ordered baked potato and 5 minutes before food was delivered we were told they were out and I had to pick another side item. Rolls were undercooked and doughy. Very expensive for the taste and the cheap presentation of the food. Much better steakhouses in the area, won't be going back to this one.
This place has become the worst restaurant in the Texas Panhandle. No service what so ever! Use to be a great prime rib and now it is more like shoe leather. Last visit at 5pm, 2 of us arrived looking forward to a nice steak and there were 4 families in the restaurant with 6 servers and hostesses at the counter. We were immediately seated and waited more than 15 minutes for water. We asked 2 rude waitresses that said that someone will be with us soon. Never arrived. As we were leaving without even getting our drinks, the "manager" finally asked us how our visit was. I have spoken to others who have had the same miserable experience. This place is pathetic!
We went for my wife birthday. After waiting 20 minutes without service, I walked to the front to talk to the receptionist. 10 more minutes nothing and then, I asked to talk to the manager. Manager came and we had drinks and bread shortly after. My wife ordered a ribeye steak well done without any pink. It came fully pink. Second try, it was charred. You would think a steak place would know how to cook stake as requested. We will no go back.
Ordered catfish to-go with okra and mashed potatoes. I was told 15-25 minutes. Arrived 30 minutes after I placed the order and it still wasn’t ready. Opened the box in the car to make sure I got what I ordered and found the catfish and okra both just as soggy as the potatoes. Even the hush puppies were soggy. Won’t be ordering here again.
Just left because no one came to seat us. We waited a while too. Restaurant was dead so if we waited long, that means the table of 4 that was seated wasnt checked on either. So can't tell you if it was good or not.
Wow. The food was inedible, and we were VERY hungry. My wife ordered a fried chicken dish. The chicken tasted sour, like it had gone bad. I got the chicken fried chicken, it was also sour. On top of all this, they seated us outside. It took 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order and another 30 minutes to get our drinks. When they finally brought our drinks, they took our order, and we didn't see our waitress for another hour. I went inside to find my waitress and asked her how much longer... she said it was coming out soon. 20 minutes later, I went back to ask again, and she finally brought our food out. Our waitress never asked us how our food was, otherwise we would have told her that the chicken had gone bad. She never refilled our drinks. She never came outside after delivering our food. I went inside YET AGAIN to find my waitress for the check. Prior to going here, I had never left a $0 tip... but honestly, the waitress did nothing to deserve a wage, much less a tip. And I can't believe I was served sour chicken... shame on you Texas Rose. Don't eat here.
The food was bland and the service was terrible. The waitress only came by my table twice the whole meal and when I tried to press the issue with the manager that I wasn’t being serviced properly, ‘Cruz’ told me that the service was just fine and I was being a pushy customer. I do not recommend eating if you are looking for a pleasant or tasty experience.
If you want a better burger you can have one at McDonald’s, I got the half pound burger and asked for it cooked medium. It is dry and burnt with no seasoning at all. The fries are soggy and super salty. We also got the bacon shrimp skewers. The shrimp have no flavor and the bacon around them is almost raw. If you want a good meal stay far away from here.
Single mom of two college children: Texas Roadhouse of Augusta Ga . Wait time was long, while workers kept passing us and no one to seat us as the host was talking to each other. (Seems like a lot of that goes on here) very unprofessional. Then the waitress gave my son the wrong drink and told him to try it to see if he liked it. We then ordered our food which took way to long while others who came in after us was served before us. We had to ask for additional rolls which was served without any plates to put them on and no knives to cut them open so we dipped them into the butter. They then bought the plates after we ate our rolls but by then there was no need for the plates. Also when we asked for additional rolls that she told us they were making a new batch which she then let someone else have. Our food (very small portion) eventually came but by then we had finished our drinks and barely ate anything. She refilled our drinks and disappeared , when we wanted something we asked another waitress who said she couldn’t serve us and it had to be our waitress but our waitress was helping that same waitress with her tables. We had traveled 9 hours from our home state to this one and we were tired but we had to wait for the check and for her to come back and collect the money. Smh . Also I forgot to mention that it was my sons 21st birthday which I mentioned to her and she disregarded, the table behind us also had a birthday and they gave a shout out to them and nothing for us which was disappointing because it was our first time there and we wanted to try something different and to make it special for him especially because both my kids were returning to college and I wouldn’t get to see them for four months.
I went to the location in Amarillo and the manager is great... but we had Amber as a service and it may have just been the worst service I've ever had in my life we sat down at 7:30 and she took our order then disappeared for 35 minutes while all other tables were getting food and when it finally came my steak felt like it was in a refrigerator. So I told her and she rolled her eyes and instantly snatched my plate without saying anything and left. When she came back she dropped it in front of me and walked away. After that, every time she looked at me it was an eye roll and refused to talk to me. Just incredibly unprofessional especially for a place the two of us just spent $80 on dinner
