Love this place in Dana point! It’s best to visit after 4 PM then you can sit out in the patio and watch the sun setting over the water. It’s a bit noisy out there, but you can do a lot of cars/people watching and you can take your dog. If you’re camping at the state beach, you can almost walk here or it’s a quick two minute drive. It’s pretty busy on the weekend, but this is plenty of seating inside and outside.

Who doesn't like having a drink by the beach. Great happy hour and great food. I got the chicken teriyaki which came out beautifully plated. I have driven past this place a billion times over the past twenty five years and never thought to stop in.I'm glad I did

Well! Well! The Sandboard.com crew just spent a week at Capistrano Beach and managed to catch up to the famous 'Happy Hour' at Sunset Bar and Grill. Emily was our server both visits and besides her ability to prove efficient even on a busy evening she also was amazingly personable with AND shares her wonderful smile generously! The food ( Sunset Tacos ) and drinks ( Sunset Mai Tais & the Fireball shots ) were right on target! We drive all the way down from Sand Master Sandboarding Park on the Oregon coast to experience the change of scene 'get away' at Capistrano Beach each year and Sunset Grill is always on our itinerary! But that's not all...the manager is an amazing fellow named, Scotty and he truly knows how to make you feel welcomed. We had a couple nice chats with him and feel like we made a friend all the way around. THANK YOU, Emily and Scotty! We'll be back! Save us a seat!! :)

The teriyaki chicken was too sweet, but the price was right. Presentation was beautiful. Staff was welcoming and helpful and nice.

Enjoyed the place very nice it was beautiful sitting outside watching the ocean. Service was very good the wine was very good. Great place for happy hour and relax. The food was wonderful. Had the nachos and the salmon salad.

Sunsets bar has a fantastic atmosphere with just enough view of the ocean and a hit of smooth breeze. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Also a light sports bar atmosphere if you are feeling like watching a game. Good selection of beers and the food was great. Service was attentive & I can’t wait for us to go back again with our friends. 5-Stars for Sunsets Bar!

Can’t beat sunset at Sunsets!!💕 The happy hour, drinks, vibe, sunset are all amazing. Colby’s the best, order a mai tai you won’t regret it! Also the bacon bombs and ahi tuna bites are bomb.

Would recommend. Came here after a long work day to relax. It was a Thursday, vibes were good. Not too crowded. Drinks were great! I got the Passionfruit Sour and Blood Orange Margarita. The bartender, Josh, was very kind.

Super Bowl Sunday was lots of fun! They had great specials and a great atmosphere. The food was delicious and the staff were great, especially Emily!

Coconut shrimp yummy and delicious fish tacos good and spicy our sever was very attentive making sure we had our drinks. They have a full bar menu cabinet and double IPA for me. It's a sports bar

I'm going to amend my review. Went back to Sunset's this past Thursday night and the food and service were awesome, just what we are used to. Sarah was are server and she was absolutely outstanding. She checked on us at least 4 times to see if everything was ok. She is a fantastic employee and extremely professional. Our food and drinks were delivered on time and very delicious. We have been going to Sunset's for the past six years and love it. We will continue to visit this establishment whenever we are in town. Sarah is wonderful!!!!!

Liven this place up with good music and a staff with upsell abilities and maybe it would be packed! Just felt bland! No excitement 😕 treat everyone like a super Star not just $$ you'll go far. Food needs spark. Try fish was good. Good luck to improve your style try a new menu.
