This is my favorite coffee shop. I go here at least a few times a week. Coffee is 10/10. I get the pour over when I want to be skinny/sophisticated and a latte with whole milk when I need a fun treatsie to lift my mood. Also, the hot food is really good! I get the BLTA when I am in a pinch for a quick lunch. Recommend!

Solid choice. Highly quality beans. Quick service. Their breakfast burritos are amazing too. Large Luna cold brew and a breakfast burrito, and I'm a happy guy. My wife loves the vanilla lattes as well. Great atmosphere for a coffee shop.

This has very quickly become a regular spot for my boyfriend and I. We went for the coffee and were surprised by how delicious the food is as well! We go here every weekend. The employees are always so friendly. Highly recommend this place!

The coffee at the restaurant next door was better, honestly. But that restaurant only has coffee. For the fanciest stuff come here. Nice place to sit outside of you need some sun.

Best coffee in So-Cal! Great service, perfectly made flat white and cappuccino. Unlike Star-Yucks and Aweful- Bean they use quality beans that not only don't taste like burnt underwear (like SB & CB) but use fresh perfectly well roasted beans that are rich, smooth, aromatic, incredible and delicious. Skip the coffee for chumps locations and give these guys a try. Just awesome. And no I don't work there, I was on vacation with my family. Real review.

Tasty breakfast selections and great coffees plus tea and other beverages! Busy during our visit but food was delivered in a suitable time and was delicious. I ordered the breakfast burrito served in a bowl (no tortilla for me). Friendly service as well; cannot use cash…use credit card or pay with app! Try it, think you’ll like it!

Yummy drinks, amazing customer service, and I love how non-corporate it feels. Coffee drinks are supposed to have soul and this place nails it. I stopped going to my previous favorite because it turned into what essentially felt like an office building that served beverages. This place is the opposite and it’s great.

The coffee here is really good and their breakfast burritos hit every time! The vibe is also nice. I sat here for an hour working on my laptop.

Cute coffee shop in Carlsbad. I ordered the Left Coast Latte with Salted Caramel and Oatmilk. So yummy. My friend ordered the Sandpiper and loved it. We both agreed the flavors weren’t overpowering. Definitely give this place a try.

Service is great and environment suitable for studying/relaxing. Parking with easy access. Prices a little bit on the high end, but comparable to any Starbucks you go to. Highly recommend.

Coffee (drinks) are always perfect and beautiful. Bird Rock lattes are my absolute favorite. Smooth, creamy, rich nutty flavor, perfect amount of foam, AND beautiful! Seriously. My husband loves their coffees (brewed varieties change daily). The pastries and food are great too. Ok, but in truth, it's the coffee team working here that makes it so special... wow! Genuine, warm, caring, calm ... real. I don't care how busy or frantic, they always smile and greet us warmly. They look us in the eye and never rush us to get on to the next customer. I love that you can see them brewing your coffee, and even the person cooking in back. You can tell the team gets along well and enjoys their jobs. In addition, questions I've had about the different beans have always been answered intelligently and thoughtfully. Whoever does their hiring is spot-on and to be congratulated. They have found some real gems. Long story short? Come visit and stay awhile. Have an amazing cup of coffee along with a wonderful smile; both of which will brighten your day. I bought this syrup with sandpier's name, made coffee at home, put oat milk in it and drank it iced..This is really delicious. I think this place is good for making syrup as well as coffee beans.. It really does upgrade the coffee.

Delicious! I got an iced Honey B latte and a Breakfast Croissant - both were made perfectly. The Breakfast Croissant was perfectly flaky, the egg was cooked to gooey perfection, and the bacon was hot and crispy! Will definitely be returning.

I ordered the iced Left Coast latte and if I lived out here this would be a spot to return to. The area it's in is nice, and the staff is even nicer. It's definitely an area I'd come to just to grab a coffee and hangout outside. The service was quick as well.

He took extra time to helps us find which coffees we'd like and made sure to get the sauces for my sandwich on the side since I wasn't sure if I'd want them. Both our coffees were delicious! Stopped in for a quick coffee while on a business trip and the La Luna Cold brew hit the spot.

Never been to Bird Rock before but this new place in Bressi has some pretty tasty coffee. Saturday morning was a bit crowded and loud unfortunately, and the service was slow. Hopefully it's not always like this. I do wish the menu had some more vegan options as well. With local distributors like Hazel & Jade showing up in many coffee locations lately, it seems like a missed opportunity not to include those options. Update: second visit had less people, still a long wait. The avocado toast is nice, coffee is great!

The coffee is really good! The hot chocolate is a bit too sweet. Just one comment: please consider upgrading your cups. For large drinks there are sleeves, but when you get a cappuccino or flat white to go, the cups are very hot.

From not cleaning out the portafilter after knocking out the last shot to grossly oversteamed milk the list goes on. Really no way to get a proper flat white without dousing it in sweetner. I’d love to like bird rock again but they have to train their baristas and dial in etiquette. I currently drive an extra 5-6 min out of my way to steady state in the village to avoid going here as of now.

Ordered an iced coffee and got hot. Ordered an avocado bagel and got bacon and egg. Pretty sure the guy was new but it was a miss. The good news is they were both still really good.

I live nearby and I was there a lot of times. Always something... coffee can be too hot, cold, weird taste. Avocado toast is not the same as in other bird rick places. The staff is so relaxed and you can wait for your order forever. I think this place needs more professional employees and everything should be good.

Stopped in for a latte to go - waited in line for 15 mins due to a systems issue, then another 15 -20 for my drink, which ended up being incorrect (no syrup added to the left coast latte). It seems like the issues are more of a systems issue than employees fault, where poor systems lead to slow down and employee errors. Bummed bc I had high hopes. Probably wouldn’t go back.

Was so excited to try the matcha; my friend and I went in and she tried to order breakfast burrito but one employee said the kitchen had closed. We got our drinks and left, then realized the matcha was just sweetened milk with some green tint. We went back in 10 minutes later to ask for some more matcha and they did give it to us which was nice — but it is a matcha concentrate just to let everyone know. While she was adding matcha to our drinks we saw another employee baking a breakfast burrito for another customer. Overall the matcha was a 3/10 due to its chalkiness and lack of flavor for being $7. Greed Don’t get me wrong the coffee could be good!

Plus this location has hired a lot of new staff recently, so I gave it some time before writing this review. I come here everyday, sometimes twice! I just cannot deal with the service anymore, and I’m going to have to find a new spot. My drink ticket was lost, then I got placed behind all the other beverages on the bar, and no apology for the wait. This morning my drink was placed 4-5 drinks after people who were in like behind me and ordered after me. The coffee is always fine, but you can be waiting her for 20-30 minutes for one beverage even on a slow day. The food has always been awesome, but it’s not worth the frustration.

North County’s Worst Coffee Spot: Every single time I come here, they make a mistake. I’m a neighbor, and I’ve come back multiple times over the years in hopes of them improving. Finally time to leave a review after today’s (yet again) failure. First and foremost it takes 5 minutes to get a cup of coffee, which is great. Then you enjoy your latte outside only to find out that your food won’t be ready for another 40 minutes. Happens every time. Then when your food does come out, it’s an incorrect order and they are out of salsa. Oh, and you finished your coffee 20 minutes ago. I would not recommend this establishment if you would like to have an enjoyable experience, which is a real shame because their coffee is on the better side.

Bird Rock (original SD business) was easily one of the best coffee shops in San Diego. The location in Bird Rock served some of the richest and smoothest dark roast premium coffees you could find. Sadly, in 2017 the business was sold to a Kansas based corporation called PT's Coffee Roasting Co. Since then, they have opened eight new locations and completely **abandoned everything that made Bird Rock Coffee good**. I used to drive 30 minutes to get a Bird Rock coffee because it was rich, buttery, and flavorful. Now Bird Rock coffee looks like sickly urine. It is a dark yellow, transparent cup of sour bean tea. You will not find a more acidic and sour cup of “coffee” in California. The menu might say they have a “dark roast”; they do not. Do not be fooled. I have ordered this coffee and **poured it out** after one sip. I have a giftcard for $50 which, **I will not use**. I am baffled as to why anyone that appreciates coffee would go here. This is corporate slop masquerading as the reanimated corpse of a once proud San Diego brand. They took the branding and image of Bird Rock, chewed it up, regurgitated it, doubled the price, and handed it back to you. Sadly, many people can't tell the difference. Please do not be fooled. You can get an **infinitely** better cup of coffee and Phil’s. If that's not close, Lofty and Better Buzz are also superior options.
