Food is excellent!! Delicious amritsar kulcha with chole, tandoori momos and kathi roll. The chai was amazing too. A must visit. The ambience is great for a casual get together.
We went there first time, ordered Amritsari Kulcha, burger and paneer Kathi roll. Everything was delicious and fresh 👌
This is truly the best place for Indian food, hands down! From flavorful snacks to refreshing tea and main courses, everything here is absolutely delicious. Each dish is presented beautifully, showing the care and passion put into the food. I’m honestly surprised that more people aren’t visiting, perhaps it's a bit overshadowed. But trust me, this place deserves much more attention. Once you try it, I’m confident you’ll find yourself coming back again and again. Highly recommend!
Best food joint place in Indiana. Chai & Kathi Roll Lounge, Castleton Corner Drive in Indianapolis, offers a delightful fusion of Indian flavors in a cozy setting. Instead of going to a typical Indian buffet restaurant, everyone must visit this place. This place is still new and needs improvement in waiting time (it's improvised) and a lively ambience (music, add more details/ props in space). However, do not underestimate the food, it's totally worth the wait. The staff is polite. Got a chance to eat sandwich, burger, Indo-chinese, kathi rolls, chai which will remind you of home-food. Spices and sauces are the USP of this place. Wrap is wrapped with a tortilla and the roll is with Paratha (go for Roll if you want the real taste). Must try any sandwich and vegetable noodles. The Chilli Paneer Kathi Roll and Chicken tikka roll are standout, featuring marinated paneer sautéed with onions and peppers, all wrapped in a warm paratha. This dish is praised for its burst of flavors and satisfying texture. Another popular choice is the Aloo Masala Roll, which combines spiced potatoes with fresh vegetables, creating a comforting and flavorful experience. The Veggie Wrap is also a hit, offering a medley of vegetables wrapped in a soft paratha, perfect for a light yet satisfying meal. For those seeking a beverage, the Masala Tea, mint lemonade complement the dishes well, providing a traditional and urban touch to the meal. Usually rest of the restaurant has ginger in Masala chai, this one has cardamom. The lounge's inviting atmosphere with pool table and friendly service make it an excellent spot for both quick bites and relaxed dining.

Chai & Khathi Roll Lounge – A Cozy Spot for Comfort Food If you’re a fan of flavorful rolls and a comforting cup of chai, Chai & Khathi Roll Lounge is a must-visit. This lounge offers a delightful blend of traditional Indian snacks with a modern twist. The khathi rolls are packed with well-seasoned fillings, wrapped in perfectly soft parathas, and offer a great balance of spices. They cater to both vegetarians and meat lovers, so there’s something for everyone. The chai is the highlight of the menu, served in various flavors with just the right blend of warmth and spice. Whether you’re in the mood for classic masala chai or something more experimental, this place has you covered. The lounge has a cozy and relaxed vibe, making it a great spot to unwind or catch up with friends over some light bites. Service is friendly and prompt, and the prices are reasonable for the quality of food you get. Overall, Chai & Khathi Roll Lounge offers a delicious and satisfying experience for anyone looking to enjoy a casual meal or snack.
Went here to try for the first time with a friend today. She had a sandwich, I had the paneer Kathi Roll, and an iced chai latte. We split the vegetable momo. Everything was delicious! Perfect spice level, and sooo much vegetarian!! We specifically loved the diversity of the food vs. what you normally get at Indian restaurant. All menu items are easy for grab and go meals, but also nice couch and table seating in the dining area. Lots of coffee drinks offered here as well. Must try!
Delicious, finger licking good food and friendly staff. I was the only one on a lazy Monday afternoon. Place is spacious and comfortable seating. Tried the paneer roll and the paneer was juicy and perfectly balanced with spices.. took me back to India. Masala chai is also perfectly balanced with hints and notes of spices used. I will visit again. A quick stop to grab a bite whenever I’m grocery shopping at Patels. I ordered the Take out and immediately i got pulled into a work related call and had to step outside. The cashier came outside and delivered the food.
Indian style cafe perfect for having tasty snacks along with your chai/coffee Ambience is good. It's spacious and comfortable. If someone in your group is yet to arrive and you need to pass your time you can indulge yourself with a game of snooker. Let’s wait and see if they will add more games 😃 Coming to chai/coffee. They have all popular varieties of chai and coffee. We tried masala chai and iced coffee. Both tasted very much authentic and good. Priced reasonably as well. The crunchy bread toast pieces served along with tea was a sweet surprise. Any snack you order would perfectly complement the drink in my opinion. We tried aloo masala Kathi roll and veg momos. Again, these too taste absolutely delicious and have a balanced hint of authenticity. Priced a bit on higher side (probably to give a premium kind of experience) Overall vibe is good and you will definitely enjoy the experience with or without any company. It’s not a lunch or dinner place. But a great place for a nice snack.
Amazing food .while on vacation in Indiana ,this one of the best veg momos and noodles so far in US.
It was really calming space. They have chai meeting room and comfy couches to sit. They got a pool table. Staff was very friendly and their service was great. Their chicken grilled sandwich and veggie wrap are must try. It was truly Indian taste. It is affordable place to grab a breakfast/lunch.
The food was really delicious. I had an Aloo Masa Roll. It was nice, spicey, and the paneer was deliciously flakey. 10/10 would get again. The Chai was also deliciously spicey. Presentation was really charming. We also tried the veg momo. Also delicious, and spicey, yet crisp. The staff were all really friendly, and the atmospere was very chill. All and all it was a good choice for a relaxing lunch. 💯

First time here and we will be back! Tried the tandoori vegetable momos and a veggie wrap with some iced chai. It was so very delicious!!! The staff greeted us with smiles which made us feel comfortable since it was a totally new experience. Very glad to spend our money here.

The food was absolutely delicious and well worth the price. I got a chili chicken roll, which tasted good and had just the right amount of heat. Going to try either a tikka wrap next time or some momos. The guy serving us gave us free drinks.

Fantastic food and a great selection of dishes. The keema naan is my absolute favorite; it's stuffed with flavor and an authentic Punjabi delight. Highly recommend this spot to calm any craving!
Decent place to have a quick bite and hangout with friends. The Masala Chai and Aloo Masala Sandwich stand out as favorites. However, the Chilli Chicken Sandwich, Veg Momos, and Paneer Roll were just okay in our opinion.
I stopped because I wanted a late night snack. I ordered: Chana masala roll, paneer grilled sandwich and masala tea. The paneer grilled sandwich was my favorite. Delicious chutney and cheese makes this veg sandwich scrumptious. Probably event better in the restaurant! The chana masala roll was also good, even better with ketchup (preferably maggi if you have that at home). The service was great, they were very intentional about packaging and handing it to me! I wasn’t a fan of the masala tea personally, but I’m interested in trying their other hot tea options! The momo’s looked great and that’s on my list to try next as well! Interior is nice, and would be great for someone working or wanting to just kickback.

I ordered the Indian street-style noodle burger and the malai chaap burger. The burger was okay, but it was not like an actual Indian street-style burger. The patty and bun were fine, but the noodles were not up to the mark. The malai chaap felt like a waste of money—it did not taste like chaap at all and seemed more like uncooked dough with some sauces and vegetables. Regarding amenities, they have a pool table with broken cue sticks. One staff member gave me the pool balls and cue sticks, and I was about to set up the table when another staff member took the cue sticks and said they were broken. Overall, the food is overpriced and does not match the quality.
The food prices are awkward- my burger and potato chips was good BUT TINY. The ten potato chips were almost insulting. I've never had chicken malai before so I can only wonder if this chicken was old because it tasted 'off'... also it's like $1 on the owner to make some rice with it, come on??? The gentleman there was not particularly helpful, but he wasn't rude. There was a slight language barrier- I think they would do well trimming the menu down to items they can perfect (see chicken above). The chai was fine, but we spent about $29 before tip in an unsatisfactory meal. This is called a lounge but there are four total comfortable seats, no central hangout spot, and OVERHEAD LIGHTING. Nevermind the mysterious art about brexit on the walls, and the cheesy music video/kids programming televisions at each corner of the location. If there is a cool lounge for chai and (I was hoping at least free wifi??) food in Indianapolis, this isn't it. At least the place wasn't dirty.

Very bad very bad Very bad experience Counter was full of attitude They don't pay attention to what customers is saying they think what they are saying is right. Where they don't think customers is right and doesn't admit their mistake. You should not visit. If you people are vegetarian think before you go. I asked for panner sandwich and they gave chicken one . And restaurant was not busy. But they don't have manpower to work. I am pure vegetarian and this is what they do in non busy day. They should have check the tab and ingredients before making and serving to customers. I didn't like it and will not suggest. Very slow service and give orders late. I am attaching the receipt you proof that its was panneer sandwich I ordered. And the person over the counter was so rude that was not admitted the mistake and saying it was our mistake. This why that restaurant was very slow. Its better go to American restaurant for dine in. Atleast they compensate. This person was over the counter was useless with very bad attitude. This restaurant doesn't deserve even a one star.
Editing after my third and disappointing visit. I'm feeling sick after eating here! They are extremely understaffed and slow. They took over an hour for a veggie wrap. They no longer have the chana masala kathi roll. They've tried to expand their menu but don't have the staff it seems. I've worked as a server and I know it's a tough job. But no one comes to a restaurant for bland fried potato wrapped in maida. Masala and sauces were missing and I was too frustrated with the wait to complain or order anything else. Food tasted horrible. Service was poor. They've lost a loyal customer. Original review: I would give them 6 stars if i could!! Amazing food. Real authentic desi cafe style food. You can choose mild, medium and spicy levels. The restaurant is owned and run by a Punjab Haryanvi brothers. No wonder the food has generous amounts of spices. The kasoori methi in kathi roll and elaichi in chai are addictive! The rolls are made in a nice desi Paratha. The chocolate milk reminded me of malted Indian milk beverages. Many vegetarian options, some can be made vegan. They have a meeting room which can be reserved. Great ambiance and service.

We ordered takeout. Chicken fried rice without any spice. The lady said it would take 15-20 minutes. Then we had to wait 40 minutes for a single item. It's not what they packed. Expected better service.
