Giovanni's Pizza! <3 I've been blessed to have been introduced to this authentic Italian pizza place back in 6th grade when the owner's daughter was in my elementary school class. Our school was lucky to have many Giovanni's pizza donated to our school which is probably why my heart & palate enjoy Giovanni's pizza still. My fam's favorite special pizza here is the Giovanni's Special with no onions & 1/2 no bell peppers. All the pizzas here pair amazingly with the beers they carry. <3
Any day I get my mouth around a steamy piece of Giovanni's Pizza is a good day. Best price. Best Dough. My bag is the mushroom garlic pizza. Like Tony the Tiger ... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr8! This consumer appreciates the most economical dining out experience around.
New location same great food. The staff is kind, helpful and professional. We always look forward to eating there or getting it delivered. The buffalo wings are great and you can get big squeeze bottles of their ranch and buffalo sauce. We normally get a couple different pizzas or apps. Just a great hometown pizza joint!
This place is GREAT. Food comes quick, been coming here for years not once has my order been wrong
Unbelievable pizza!! Fresh hand-made dough crust, yummy toppings. Now my favorite place!! Great to bring the whole family or just yourself.
We love Giovanni’s. We love the friendliness of the staff. Our only disappointment is the amount of meat they put in their Pastrami Sandwiches. Even when I add double meat it is still skimpy. But we still love the food. Their Antipasto Salad is to die for. Please support them in their new location.
Just had a lunch here. Got the lunch special and was very pleased with it. Great homemade blue cheese dressing. Owner was working the counter and was a very friendly guy and offered great service. I’ll be back.
Whenever I’m driving through Carp I rarely miss the opportunity to pick up Giovanni’s pizza for the family… Always delicious and consistent!!!
Best in town!! We order at least once a week and love to switch it up between pizza, meatballs, pasta & salad. The staff is always so nice and the food is consistently great :)
good food that's well priced & they're dog friendly. not sure what more I could ask for. place is clean with an atmosphere that I can only describe as family restaurant
Excellent food and service! Big portions that turn into another wonderful eating experience!
Giovanni’s pizza was outstanding. The toppings, our was sausage & black olives, were excellent quality and extremely plentiful. The crust was very tasty and cooked just right. If you are in Carpinteria, and you want a great pizza, I highly recommend Giovanni’s.
Nice spot. Good pizza and wings. A nice walk from the beach or plenty of parking if you drive there.
Food is very comfy and cozy. My son said the chicken wings are a 10 out of 10. Calzone was so very good, I highly recommend. Plus the soft serve is a fun way to end the meal. You can walk up to grab a cone on the outside.
Killer pizza, bread sticks, and soft serve ice cream. We couldn't get enough of it! 🤤 Great outdoor seating with a play house for littles. The outside could have used more upkeep, otherwise everything was awesome.
Its an amazing place. we drive from L.A. just to get pizza and other foods. Highly recommend. They won't disappoint you at all. we love Giovanni's Pizza.
Great Pizza!!! We ordered the Hot Sweet & Spicy pizza and it was delicious!! Staff is very friendly and provided really good service. We ate inside to catch the football game but the large outside patio looked really nice Draft and bottle beer and wine available
I came to the avocado festival with my wife & wish we would have found this place first. #1- the Value, their slices are huge & their garlic breadsticks are authentic garlic bread (add cheese for only $1) & are the best tasting garlic breadsticks ive had. (We ordered 2 slices and a garlic cheese bread for just under $18 bucks) If this isnt the best pizza you have had, you definitely haven't gotten more bang for your buck. Honest business, that cares to offer customers value, in my opinion. #2 marinara sauce is easily the most flavorful ive ever had, id imagine they make it in house.
Awesome local pizza joint. Perfect stop after a 80 mile bike ride. $10 lunch combo = unbeatable value. Classic Caesar salad & east coast style slice. Thin, crispy, tasty. Outstanding customer service & a clean, trendy space. 👌👌👌👌👌
We visit Carpinteria a lot and we finally had the opportunity to try the new location for Giovanni’s. I met the owner Shaun and he was very pleasant and welcoming. We had the antipasto salad and pepperoni and sausage pizza. We will definitely be back and support this business. The food was very good. We sat on the patio and it was very nice
Took advantage of the lunch special with salad, pizza slice and drink. I was pleasantly surprised at the decent size salad with Italian dressing and the pizza slice was very big. Both were real good. I’m sharing a pic of the pizza slice…I would have included the salad but my hunger overtook me and I immediately ate the salad. The service was fantastic. My dog was with me so I ate in the outside patio that was real nice and shaded from the sun. The ambiance was nice. I need to point out that the guy who helped me treated me very well as he brought my food outside so I could remain seated in the patio with my pooch. I thought that he was the owner and told me that he was a hired employee. His service and friendliness showed deep responsibly as though he owned the place. Kudos to him and I hope that his employer reads this and gives him some recognition. This has become my Italian go to eatery whenever I’m in Carpenteria.
If you're looking for that classic pizza place with authentic pies and a quality selection of other Italian classics this is the place. The menu is simple and there's no fluff or overpriced items for the sake of looking fancy. The food looks and tastes amazing. It takes some time for it to arrive simply because they're actually making it the traditional, quality way and not just factory assembling and heating up. If you're in the area and have a large group, family, or just want good quality comfort food at an amazing price, don't pass this up.
Finally, found a good pizza in the Santa Barbara area. Giovanni's to me felt like an old school east coast pizza joint. Order at the counter..pick up at the counter. Once your buzzer goes off. Corn-hole setup outside. Video games were fun. My wife and I got tattoos.. Great Lil place for a date out.i thought the pizza was delicious. And I'm picky about my pizza. I'll be going back. Short walk to the beach.
Have stopped here every summer for the last 4 years just for the calzone. By far the best on the west coast!! I have gotten several varieties but this year the chicken in white sauce with onion was my favorite!! We'll be back next summer.
The food is fantastic! The staff are friendly and helpful. The new place is bright and welcoming with a great outdoor area that is kid and pet friendly
Some of the best pizza I've ever had... next I want to try there sandwiches' they 👀 looked AMAZING😋

Went there for Karaoke- which is once a month now..next one is Wednesday July 16 6 pm to 9 pm. Atmosphere was great, eggplant Parmesan was delicious and cost effective. Fun! Great service, nice people.
Owner was super kind and welcoming, and the patio is absolutely gorgeous! We got two slices of cheese and the garlic bread with mozzarella, both were so delicious. The marinara sauce had a unique flavor profile and we ate it so fast. 100% worth the stop
Amazing service and pizza. We were on our way to Jalama to go camping, from NV, and decided to order a large pepperoni pizza from one of our favorite pizza places and we were happy we did. Pizza was ready on time employees were super friendly and quick. Made sure we had everything we needed, from napkins & paper plates to red pepper and parmesan.
4 cheese pizza was nice. It's all order at the counter but that staff I saw being patient and helping patrons, never rushing them. It's also a bus your own table, but staff were checking to be sure to clean up afterwards. It's a pizza joint, so food & atmosphere stars are judged against my standard for that.
We were staying nearby and ordered online, picked up and took to our hotel.... my husband ordered chicken parmesan and he said it was " very good" I had the calzone.... a little different from what I'm used to, but delicious. Basically, ricotta and mozzarella, marinara sauce added. The crust was delicious and they didn't skimp on the cheeses... I need to go back for their ice cream.... tomorrow for sure!!!
SEAN IS A VERY COOL GUY. PAN PIZZA WAS PERFECTLY DONE...AWESOME PAN PIZZA AND LOW PRICED QUALITY FOOD 🍕🍕

Went for dinner Saturday night. The antipasto was good, but not the best I've ever had. Pizza was very good. Had to wait a very long time for a "to go" box for the 1/2 medium sized left over pizza. Instead of getting a small pizza box, they gave us a pasta box meaning we had to stack pizza slices on top of each other (which stuck together). The bathroom did not have toilet paper or soap. Overall was ok, but could be better. Giovanni's is now located in the old Foster Freeze building down the street.
Place is the same as I remember. Good quality ingredients and has a big patio area. The place is about to move locations down the street and we can't wait to out next visit before summer. Besides the pizza the sandwiches are also good.
I had really high hopes for Giovanni’s given how busy it usually was in their new spot and expected it to rival Rusty’s, Hive, or Pizza Man Dan’s. Unfortunately, the pizza wasn’t for me. It my personal opinion, it was very bland, heavy tomato sauce and flavorless, tough, cardboard-like dough. The cheese texture and taste seemed lower quality and not as stringy as others I have had. I couldn’t finish the basic pepperoni pizza and tossed it. To be blunt, with Tina’s now also in town, it’s even tougher to rank it above any Carpinteria pizzerias. Different strokes for different folks, but competition is stiff. That said, the soft serve window is excellent.
The ice cream is delicious . The pizza pricing is strange ($14 mini, $27 medium, $28 large). I’d give a 5 star if the ingredients were organic.

EDIT after response from owner: Thank you for reading my review and for your comment. Can you please provide a source for your quote about "the closest thing to NY"? I grew up in DC and Boston and my family is all from NY. I respectfully would claim that Gino's on Figueroa Street is the closest to NY in SB. I would be curious where your quote is from? === ORIGINAL post: I was in a hurry so I crossed the street from Rusty's to see if Giovanni's sells slices. They said yes. They suggested the combination of slice, salad and soda and I said OK. It took quite a while to get the food even though no one else was there. But that wasn't the main problem. The main problem was the food. Food is a matter of taste. This did not match my taste at all. The pizza was on thick bread and I prefer thin. It was laden thick with cheese. That slice was probably a full day's worth of calories. The "salad" was lettuce and raw onions piled with more cheese. Another full day's worth of calories. I scraped off as much of the cheese as I could but it was still pretty awful. Maybe some people would like this food, but I am not coming back. Rusty's is so much better. I should have just done the Rusty's salad bar. Even if I got an individual pizza at Rusty's it would have taken the same amount of time. And it would have tasted good and not been an insane load of calories. Again, your taste may be different.
Unfortunately, the meal did not meet expectations, especially considering the $60 price point. The Greek pizza lacked flavor and was primarily topped with vegetables and feta cheese, with a crust that was overly hard. The large salad was underwhelming as well—mostly lettuce and cheese, with only a few slices of tomato and a minimal amount of ranch dressing. Overall, the quality and presentation fell short of what I anticipated for the cost.
GOT A CALZONE THERE & PAID TO ADD SAUSAGE THE OWNER IS A CHEAPSKATE & I BARELY HAD ANY IN IT. GO ELSEWHERE AS THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH IT! JACKS BISTRO IS MY SPOT IN CARP AS THE FOOD IS ALWAYS GOOD.
TWO TIMES now we've ordered thin crust with everything to be delivered. And TWO TIMES we were told yes it will be thin and yes CRISPY. And 2 times it came thicker crust, 80% cooked, when you reach for a slice it stretched, and all of this garbage sat in a puddle of GREASE! Delivered Luke warm. What an incredible horrible pizza!!! And did I mention, I had the privilege of giving them $37.00 for this box of manure. You can buy an $8.00 store bought, throw it on a pizza stone at 500 degrees in your own oven and you'll get a 10X better pizza than these folks could ever cook. I 'd give them less than 1 star if I could.
