Good drinks and selection of meats! The wine pork belly is my favorite but takes forever to cook. Service is okay, the wagu is good as well. The rib eye was impressive with the rosemary sprig. Overall, I would recommend!

Gen Korean BBQ provided an excellent dining experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Our waiter was exceptionally attentive, ensuring our drinks were always refilled and that we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The service was impressively quick, making the experience even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection right at our table. The cheese katsu was a standout dish—crispy on the outside, with a perfectly melted, gooey cheese center. Every bite was satisfying, and the variety of side dishes complemented the meats wonderfully. The high-quality ingredients and generous portions made the meal even more worthwhile. Another great aspect of dining at Gen Korean BBQ is its convenient location. With plenty of shops nearby, it’s easy to make a whole outing out of your visit. Whether you’re in the mood to do some shopping before or after your meal, the area has plenty to offer. Overall, our experience at Gen Korean BBQ was fantastic. The combination of excellent food, fast and attentive service, and a convenient location makes this restaurant a must-visit. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality Korean BBQ experience!

Impressive restaurant! From the moment my family & I stepped into it, we were treated well and the atmosphere was one of delightful aromas, tasteful decor and seeing many happy customers enjoying their food and making memories. Our waiter Rah was attentive and polite, keeping our water glasses filled. The food was very fresh, many protein choices, all of which were well marinated & tender. We met two of the managers, Mark & James. Both were very observant and took time to chat with customers, making everyone feel special. Their style of managing is effective as the flow of customers was steady. Keep doing what you do....it works beautifully! We left this restaurant feeling highly satisfied and already planning a return trip. Thank you for making my son's birthday extra special.

We tried out Gen and it was great! Great service and quality meats! There are 36 different items to pick from. Dinner was $26.99 but well worth it!

This was my first Korean BBQ. Service was very attentive. The meats were well seasoned. The tables were clean. We were seated quickly. Found easy parking spot but it was just 5:55 pm. I was prepared for $35-$45 per person. So much food though so go hungry. Brisket and pork belly was excellent.

Food and service was good. We went for dinner. I’m not too picky with all you can eat KBBQ. However, I had to take off one star because the “Premium Chadol” (thinly sliced angus brisket) looked like it had freezer burn. And when cooking on the grill, it would disintegrate. (See photos). The texture of the cooked meat would be soggy and taste was mediocre. I always order chadol whenever I get KBBQ, so I know what is good chadol. The rest of the food we had was good, can’t complain.

Came here with friends while in Texas on a Thursday and they were busy busy. The shrimp was very good as well as the premium meat options. Due to how busy they were, food took a little while for it to come out. Even though they were super busy Thomas are server still found a way to make sure we were well taken care of. Never seen someone multitasking like Thomas. He would come to our table and ask if something was brought out and when it wasn’t he would go in the back and would be out within minutes. Saw two birthday celebrations from the works which they don’t hold back when singing which was awesome. The atmosphere is like a night club but for food. Only give it 4 stars due to them running out of meats which is no one’s fault.

I came here for a vacation. The bulgogi was okay. Not as flavorful as the other locations I have tried in Minnesota. The bulgogi is tender though! The best meat was the beef ribeye (basically just any meat). The service was nice too. The only problem was that the place is loud and we sat at the back by where the kitchen is so we basically hear everything. One of the waiters said to another waiter to not to yell at them. Most important though, do expect to pay 18% tip if you come here in a big group (at least 10 people) You HAVE to tip them that much. We were also misinformed annoy the tip. That’s how we found out about the 18% tip (there were 8 of us).

I arrived with a group (12 in total) and although the table was empty and ready for us to be seated, we were forced to wait for over thirty minutes before we were allowed to be seated. Apparently, your meal here is timed. I wouldn't have any problems with that, except for the service slows down greatly after you've had a few rounds of food. If you are expected to finish eating in a timely manner, having frequent refills and not having to wait for 40 minutes for a specific meat to arrive to the table (which still has to be cooked) would make the timing situation must easier. Also, getting refunds when you have ordered spicy foods is imperative; not everyone can continue eating it without something to drink. Also, after a few rounds of food, we had to turn the grill off ourselves because the grill plate needed to be changed out by staff and subsequently, the food was burning. Again, if we are being timed for it meal, I would appreciate having attentive service during the entire time we are there eating. The manager looked very underwhelmed with even being present. I witnessed him making multiple annoyed/irritated expressions while he was holding the tablet up for people to make payments by credit card. He definitely did not give off a welcoming vibe and seemed to be mentally checked out. The food was good, although I cooked it myself, so I suppose I played a large part in that. Be sure to clarify upfront how you will be paying if you are part of a group. The manager told us that we could only split the check into 4 parts (so no individual payments, etc.) which was a bit more difficult since we had 12 in our group. Expect to have to pay each other back with cash, Venmo, etc. if you don't clarify upfront.

This was our second visit to this place. I was not pleased with our first experience, but this visit was the definite deal-breaker for us. The hostess directed us to a table where the seats had visible hair and food crumbs. Before my children sat down, I pointed it out. She brushed it off using a menu, then placed that same menu on the table and walked away. This unhygienic handling was very disappointing. The situation worsened when I noticed servers cleaning tables and surfaces while wearing the same gloves they were using to serve food. This was, by far, the most unhygienic dining experience we have had. We were relieved that we ordered grilled items, knowing they would be cooked thoroughly. However, even our order was incorrect. The soup we received was not what we ordered, and several other items were also wrong. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing, and we will not be returning.

I think the food is good, there were some qualities of meat that my party and I really enjoyed and kbbq is always a fun experience. My favorites are the cheese tonkatsu, Gen premium steak (regular menu), beef bulgolgi, and calamari steak. My qualms come with the service though, especially since I had last come to a Gen kbbq they had changed basically any service to qr code and it's very annoying. I'm from out of town so my signal was not great, especially because it was very busy, but qr codes are not a substitute for human interaction and service and they should not default to that. To make a reservation or sign up for the waitlist we were told to use the qr code, couldn't access it, and THEN a hostess did it for us on their ipads, which would have taken a shorter amount of time anyway than making customers do it themselves? This location specifically, I don't know if it's any other, doesn't have paper menus anymore either, and the server just...showed us a PHOTO of a qr code on his ipad, and then it didn't even lead to the menu. Like I just had to google it myself. The service was not super great overall, but I do take into account that it was a Sunday night and it was busy. There were times where we were just sitting there waiting for someone to come by, and having other people's food delivered to us on accident several times. The music was also much too loud, and I could not hear the hostess or my server speak to me. I think this would not be my first choice for kbbq, but it also would not be my last choice. I'm sure the atmosphere and service are better on like, days that aren't the weekend at peak times? But there are things that have changed since the last time I came to a Gen and they were annoying or inconsiderate changes.

Showed up today (July 9th at 1:30pm) for their lunch. As we sat down a waiter (Khoa) came to take our order, poured water into the grill and left. Waited nearly 40 mins for our drinks, our meats came out quickly but it took 15 mins for our grill to even be started after ordering. We when our appetizers came out, their new menu item, “the double dragon” came out cold. Could barely ask our waiter anything cause we hardly saw him. And when he did show up he seemed to try and rush us like my husband and I weren’t as important as the other tables around us. Our meat orders came out very slow and were wrong. Spent an hour here and was, by far, the worst experience we’ve ever had here. Will probably never return to place, should’ve just gone to a different KBBQ.

First time at this restaurant . At first I was sold everything and the host was inviting . Not ideal for groups over 4. Your group will be split up, and you’ll be resorted to shouting across the restaurant. Even if you make a reservation a week out. Even with a reservation, you’ll be waiting up to half an hour on a weekend. Oh, and don’t even think about being able to get out of here on time. It took our waitress 25 minutes to get us our check, after she passed us 3 separate times. Lower quality meat compared to the other Korean bbq places around. Just go somewhere else, thank yourself later.

Avoid! Safe to say I won't be back. From the moment we walked in you can definitely tell this place has gone down hill fast. Dirty tables everywhere and chairs covered in grease with tables that looked like they have never been wiped down with food covering the floor with constant dropping of the trays by servers. Do not come if you cannot use a chop stick I ate with my hands for the first 40 min because a fork could not be cleaned after asking my server 3 times and eventually he handed me a spoon to eat with. Our server told us we must clean our grill with a horse radish because grills could not be changed as fast because they don't have many at 6:30 at night.... Be so fr. We only had one grill the whole time! For an hour! I included a picture to show what it was looking like 4 plates later. The Diet Coke I was given was filled with floating pieces that looked like cleaning solution which my server did not take away. I found a hair on my rice cake plate. Just a terrible terrible experience but to top it off we were constantly asked if we wanted the check and that if we don't finish our food we would have to pay. After I already told him we were still looking to order more. I did not approach management to tell them my concerns and my servers name is Arnold.

Very disappointing experience at Gen Korean BBQ I had a really bad experience at Gen Korean BBQ. Our waitress was extremely slow and inattentive — we waited far too long for service, They brought our meat with no side and nothing on the table. Even after we spoke with the manager, nothing improved. They didn’t replace our burnt grill top, and instead kept putting fresh meat on the same dirty surface, which ruined the flavor and made the food inedible. On top of that, they were already out of salad by 7 PM — at an all-you-can-eat restaurant! That’s completely unacceptable and disappointing. The food, service, and overall management were far below expectations. Definitely not worth the money or the time.

This time dine in experience was sooooo horrible!!! When and why did GEN let all their bust boys go and let customers clean their grills? My hand and arm were so sore by just cleaning the grill the whole time. Seriously??? The server said this way is easier for them, LOL, but not easy for customers. I guess that the reason they are not as busy as the past even on a Friday. We will not return again!!

Worst service ever. I have been to other establishments before in California & Hawaii and the service hasnt been so bad as here. We came in and sat like always. No salt, no condiments and no potato salad. Thats fine, we can ask the server. We then proceeded to wait for our server, for 20 minutes. After we were seated. No notice, no nothing. Just people passing by and not even our drinks. Then, when we finally got a server, we asked for a coke and a water, potato salad and the trays and the meats. Welp, we waited for another 15 minutes before we received the meats. We were informed that they were washing the trays after asking what was the situation. No one told us anything. We were also told that they were out of salad. Which is weird but whatever right? This continued and it was 5-10 minute difference to receive our food. Also, when asking for forks since we dont know how to use chopsticks yet whoops, we waited another 15 minutes before receiving plastic forks that are the same that you use for bday parties. We did receive the salt in the end, in a metallic bowl used for cooking. Now for the rage inducing part, while the "great" service was ongoing, we observed that tables around us did get their potato salad and salt in the standard ceramic bowls. Ill submit the video showing it as proof. Its great being able to see how bad you are being treated while others are being treated great. More so, other tables had salad! I thought they ran out? So confused. We will not return to this establishment.
