This place is fantastic. It was my first time. But I was eating with a friend who has been there before and recommended everything. It was delicious and every recommendation was spot on. The staff was excellent. Can’t wait to come back.
Sammy's is always so relaxing, I can always count on one Dosarita to make my evening!
We Love spending Thanksgiving 😁 together it almost feels like Family...
Just left and the food definitely deserves 5 stars. The hashbrowns were amazing and so were the biscuits! The serving size was great as well, you did not skimp on anything! Thank you for breakfast!
Great lunch selection. Special was roast beef and I selected 2 sides: German fried potatoes and saurkruat. Also included fruit salad and tea and bread. All for $11.94! So delicious and fresh. Huge portions- couldn't finish it all. Always friendly waitresses and clean. Wish it was a little brighter with lighting.
What a gem! We stopped on our way through and had one of the best lunches I have had in a long time. The home made bread tasted like I was back in my home town, Pittsburgh Pa., in fact so God we bought a loaf. The in house made pie was phenomenal, the crust was perfectly baked and flakey, the coconut cream was smooth, creamy and airy. This restaurant is great and we will make the 1 1/2 hour drive to enjoy it again.
Great place for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Quiet, Friendly and just good food for 77 years.
The food was great. The atmosphere was pleasant. And the staff was friendly and professional. I had catfish filets and a baked potato, and I will definitely go back for more.
Excellent service, delicious food, older establishment. Will return when in town.
Amazing service, food, and people!!! We came after church rush. My family came from Garner State Park and was going through to go back home to San Antonio. Such amazing waitresses ❤️❤️ “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV May the Lord bless you in Jesus name AMEN
Took my boyfriend here for dinner and he loved it. Honestly will definitely come here again as this is the only restaurant that I've been to that serves fried oysters and doesn't have any of the shell in the food. On top of that all the people there are really friendly.
That local restaurant that is a hallmark of the area. We enjoyed the breakfast and we are looking forward to returning to try out the CFS. Perfect service.
Found this place while visiting family in Rio Medina and we are so glad we did!! We had a party of 10 and they were so accommodating! Service was amazing and the food was so good, everyone cleaned their plates! We will definitely be adding this to our list of places to stop when we are in town!!
Mary was our waitress and she was WONDERFUL! The food was fresh and very tasty!
Wonderful late breakfast after a death defying trip into San Antonio for a medical appointment. Warm reception, gracious and cheerful waitress. Really good meal in a relaxing unrushed atmosphere.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at this local restaurant. The friendly and efficient young man who assisted us was a great help. The food arrived hot and delicious! They also have a bar! 😎
To my family and me, there is no better feeling than feeling that homey feel. The couple times that we have come for dinner, the food has been amazing, same with the service. It is reassuring to know that when you go to a restaurant multiple times (with different staff) that there is consistency in the preparation of the food. As stated before, the food is amazing, and it is just as amazing as the first time we came for dinner. Will definitely be back.
Great place to eat willing friendly service. The coffee was pretty rough, but everything else was excellent!
Large selection of delicious food, friendly staff, small town atmosphere. We love to eat here when we don't know what we want to eat.
Food was amazing. We sat there for a while before I got up and asked if we had a waiter or needed to move sections. Kris came over and was apologetic and asked what he could get us to drink. I then had to get up and tell him we were ready to order food. Food was amazing. Great home cooked meal. I had chicken fried chicken. Their greenbeans were amazing.
Very friendly and amazingly delicious! 😋 10/10 you need to try the cheese soup!!! The country fried steak was wonderfully cooked and we had to take home the left over! The fried zucchini was lightly breaded and fried so that it tasted so fresh but still had the taste and crunch of a crispy coating. We will be back!!
It's been a while since I've ben here. Always consistently good food. You don't stay in business for 77 years if you're not doing something right for your customers. Breakfast was great and teasing me by cutting that strawberry pie worked. I took a slice to go.
On the road and driving through, this place was perfect. Plenty of room to park a camper. My husband had the special, Santa Fe chicken, which would come quicker if you’re in a hurry. I had quesadillas. Everything, I mean everything is from scratch and taste like you were eating at a friends house. The comfort level for this Sunday dinner was great. We left a 22%tip.
Food was delicious and the environment of the restaurant felt like I was at my grandparents house and the chicken fried chicken was delicious and like a grandma was in the back cooking it up our waitress was very sweet and attentive even at 8:00 at night she was amazing and the restaurant was amazing
Really cool made from scratch kitchen in Castroville. They're bread is made fresh across the street at their sisters German bakery Haby's. The meat is sourced from the local butcher which is Dziuk's. Both also a must try. Sammy's is a family restaurant with food and great service. Stop by when in Castroville, they also have plenty of desserts for that sweet tooth.
Best food I have had in a while, recently moved to Northwest San Antonio and decided to explore the opposite way from the usual drive to downtown. I was blown away with their classic homestyle food. The bread is served fresh recently baked and the pies are made in house. HUGE PORTIONS!!Will be spending more weekend here just for this place. MUST TRY!
Sammy’s is an old school diner. After being downtown San Antonio for New Year’s with nowhere to park, super high prices, and not so good “fancy” food, Sammy’s was SO comforting. If we could have left the entirety of what we spent the night before to that waitress, we would have, and it would have been worth it. Got twice as good of food and service for half the price. Please never change Castroville! Hang on to places like Sammy’s!
The food is great and very fairly priced for the quality and amount you get. Every time i havd gone i have been treated super well by the server . Its quickly become my family's fsvorite breakfast spot .
We ate there for my 59th birthday. Our waitress was a newly hired young lady. She was fantastic. She had a great sense of humor and quick wit. The mushrooms were good. Thank you Sammy's. What made my experience really pleasurable was having my daughter, my son in law and my beautiful grandson with me on this day.
***THE PICTURES ARE FROM OUR LEFT OVER FOOD THAT WE TOOK TO-GO! (That’s why it looks unappealing but it looked amazing when we got it) The service was amazing! Our waitress was so kind and answered all our questions about the menu, I believe her name was Leslie. I hadn’t been here before so when my sister suggested we go I wasn’t for it at all. I’m glad she insisted bc it’s probably one of my favorites now! I love that there’s so many homemade items on the menu like the chili they use. It’s the yummiest carne guisada type of gravy and so many places do theirs different so I’m always iffy on trying it everywhere but it was the best! Flavorful but not overpowering. The club sandwich was perfect, I’d go back for it again and again. I couldn’t decide between cream gravy or brown gravy for my mashed potatoes but I ended up picking brown. Leslie brought me a little cup of cream gravy anyway just to try and I’m so grateful she did because it was the best cream gravy I’ve ever had, I dunked all my fries in it and although the brown gravy was also delicious I’m the biggest fan of their cream gravy now. The enchiladas were sooo good, very different from what I’m used to (like at a Vallarta or something) but everything had the right flavors so it was a yes from me! It’s big inside and you can sit wherever you want. The food took a little while to come out but everything was hot and delicious so we didn’t mind. Plus we had the chili cheese fries as an appetizer (which is why none of us finished our actual entrees lol) they also gave us the sliced bread as a little appetizer too I believe it’s complimentary. Based off of my first experience there it was a 10/10. I wanna try the Mexican plate next time or the buffalo chicken salad
The atmosphere was very cozy. Service was excellent the waitress was kind and courteous. The food was so delicious. The food did not have that frozen taste that I have noticed from other restaurants. The food had more of an authentic taste to it. Had chicken fried steak and strawberry pie.
Ok, so we drove from SA to check this place out and it did not disappoint! My husband loves zucchini fries and this was the only place we could find some, the weren't fries but chips but either way, …

Sammy's offers great, quality food and service. It's home cooking at its best! The fried chicken is so good but it takes 25 minutes or more to make. The atmosphere needs to be updated and there was a bad odor nearby where we sat.
Had lunch in the first sitting area to the right. Waitress is very courteous and helpful. Had the grilled fish not overcooked, and the shrimp was fried just right. Nachos was a little on the crispy side still had a good flavor.
Locals' favorite. Good, solid food choices.
Our server was very kind and personable and the food was good. I’m not going to go overboard as this is simply good food. It’s an old fashioned place serving up country diner staples from breakfast all day to chicken fried steak (that actually has sustenance)Their chicken fried steak is very good and is hearty not over battered and the steak is thick. Their ranch dressing is delicious and homemade, their desserts and bread are as well. This place is somewhere between a diner, a 1960s banquet hall, and great-grandma’s kitchen. They need to fix the floor through.
I was staying in Hondo, and this is located in the next town over. The food was homey, simple but good. Service was very good, very friendly. I thought everything was so good in fact, that I went there twice in 5 days. I was even going to buy myself a t shirt as a souvenir, but they didn’t have my size! This restaurant is evidently well loved in the community, because each time I was there, I noticed a lot of people from different tables greeting each other, getting up from their table to mingle with others and chatting amongst themselves. The ONLY negative thing that I will add, is that when I ordered my sides, I ordered both a baked potato and a vegetable. When I got the bill, I saw that I was charged for the vegetable. When I questioned the charge, I was told very sweetly by the server that it was baked potato OR a vegetable. Umm, why didn’t she tell me that when I was placing my order? But she was so nice, and the meal was good, so I let it go. Oh, and if you do choose this testy, order the potato salad. It was delicious!
my friend and I went for breakfast, the food was good but our server was really short and snappy with us, dropped us our check without asking, and barely made eye contact with us. As a server myself it wasn't a great experience, but everyone has bad days. overall it's a nice place to go enjoy a meal, the menu has a lot of options and the prices are decent. they also do military discounts!
Sammy’s is the type of place that has a natural feel, like you walked into your Nonna’s house for a family meal. “Don’t touch anything” 😂 There are arches in the dining area that are obviously decorated for each season and it’s coinciding holiday, adding to the familial feel. Regulars sprinkled about. Our waitress was quick, witty and kind. Ordered the enchiladas and a fried chicken sandwich. The enchiladas weren’t like anything I’d ever had. More like ground beef stuffed tortillas with meat sauce or as the folks in the south call it chili (West Coast beans in chili). It was good, a little too much food for me. The fried chicken sandwich looked delicious and my daughter confirmed it so. Strawberry pie wasn’t a win for my family, pie for us involves crust but this didn’t have it. Will likely try Sammy’s again.
Decided to venture out for breakfast. Great place to go for a comfort food. Excellent service. Coffee cups always full!!! Biscuits home made. Sausage yummy. Hashbrowns nice an crispy. French toast not too sweet just right. If you want some homemade food, awesome prices and great service head over to Sammy's.

Went for breakfast with spouse. Seat yourself. It took several minutes before a waitress came to our table. Broken floor tiles, uncomfortable wooden back seats (booth style). Menu prices were good, but most breakfast meals did not include toast or hash browns. I ordered bacon, eggs, pancake with a side of hash brown and toast with coffee. This made my portion of the bill about $20 for a diner breakfast. Normally I would expect $12-$16. IMO is too expensive for a diner breakfast. The bacon was good and the pancake was large and tasty. The syrup was served in a plastic cup, but was thick and flavorful. Eggs were eggs. Hash Browns were undercooked. My wife had breakfast steak and eggs. The breakfast steak looked and tasted horrible (dry and it appears uncooked flour visible). The steak was dried out and ended up taking home for dogs. Service was acceptable but not great. Took about 25 mins for food (waitress claimed kitchen was backed up due to large party). Food was warm not hot. First visit and didn't do anything they would drive me to return. We had high hopes, but were left disappointed.
This restaurant could use a face lift. It’s very dated and food is okay. Their chicken fried steak is pretty decent. The workers are very nice and friendly.
Erica was AWESOME as a waitress. Very helpful and got my order in like I needed it due to my food allergies. Service was good. Food was prepared and brought out in a reasonable time. Food was very good, all prepared as requested. Would have given more stars, but honestly, the ambience of this eating facility is pretty disgusting. The ceiling look like it was going to cave in on me at any time and there was any amount of mold growing on the ceiling around all of the vents. As old as the building is I would hate to think what we are breathing in that is coming out of the nasty ventilation system. Everything is outdated and needs an overhaul and, on the way out I noticed a sewage smell at the front of the restaurant that if I had smelled it coming in I would have turned around and walked out. So I'm hoping I don't get sick because smelling raw sewage in a facility where food is prepared is never a good thing. Hopefully they will put in some time and effort to getting things cleaned up and updated. They had plenty of customers on a Friday night so surely they can afford to fix everything that's broken. Until then I don't think I would come back.
The biscuits and gravy weren't good. My husband said the lady that waited on him had no smile wasn't nice at all. The rest of the food was ok. Had hoped it would have been a better experience since we visit Castroville at least every other month.
It's definitely a local food establishment. Inside decor is very dated and in need of an upgrade. Service was subpar, but wait times for food was atrocious. Had we known, we would have to wait 65 minutes to get food we would have left. As it was, the hash browns were barely cooked, eggs were overcooked instead of over easy, and the bacon was wet and limp. It's not a place I would recommend for a good meal.
Good portions of better than average food. The seating wasn't really comfortable and the lighting was somewhat glaring. Softer light bulbs would be a plus. The wait staff was definitely understaffed, but the two waitresses plus the one who ran the cash register were very hard working and friendly. They took care of us with a smile. Overall, the restaurant was clean.
This place has a real cool feel to it. Love how the interior has not changed since it was built. The wait to get our food was a bit long at 35 min for two people but it's understandable due to the whole short staffing of restaurants and it being a small town and all. As with my rating the food was just ok, a bit underwhelming but the atmosphere and everything makes it a place I might just have to try again. Especially to try one of their homemade pies.
Decent place chicken fried steak was really chewy. Place has a kinda mold old smell to it. Service was great, portions are well.
Went today for lunch and took a trip down memory lane into the 70’s, maybe 80’s! Aside for the seasonal decor, this place is extremely dated. Also felt like I needed to have a cigarette being in there as the yellow walls possibly suggest the color is nicotine yellow over an actual yellow. Place was definitely busy and from the looks of things the restaurant is a local go to and has been for years. This was my families 3rd trip here and out of all three this one was better than the others by far. The first time we went, we had to walk out after sitting for 45 minutes and never getting to order. The second trip, more of the same. Long wait times to get anything and having to hear complaints of why they overlooked us. Was going for the 3rd times a charm, and while the service was better, the food was not. The Alsatian sausage was good but everything else lacked flavor. Coffee was well, coffee. Also was not a fan that going from a two egg breakfast for 6.95 to adding bacon ram the price up three bucks, seems a little high for two strips of bacon. Likely will not return and leave this one to the Castroville regulars from now on.
Food was actually alright, the atmosphere was definitely a little odd feeling. If you didn't live in that town, you were definitely looked at and treated differently. Our waitress was a bit rude to…
My elder mother and I came to eat breakfast at 12ish on a Sunday. The restaurant was busy when we arrived, but quickly emptied after 30 mins or so. I understand “rush” times but GEEZ. I had to ask for rolls to hold us over during the wait. The waitress only checked on us when she refilled coffee, which wasn’t often. We didn’t get our food until almost 1:30.
Food isn't close to wat used to be. The Tea was overly sweet just like Bill Millers. Breakfast was ok I. Server seemed kinda rushed?
I really wanted to like this place but was concerned with the general stale/mildew smell I was greeted with upon entry. My group of three did take around 7-10 minutes to order but no servers were in a hurry to check on us. Once we did order, we waited 55 minutes for food! Staff didn't come around for about 25 minutes after taking our order and when one did, she just asked how we were once she saw my head resting on the table (ate breakfast at 730 am and it was 245pm by this point so I was ready). I'm pretty sure that means she forgot to put in our order and only realized because I was being slightly dramatic. Then another server said our order was almost ready 20 minutes after that...then our server came out with a tray and I perked up, but she said "I'm grabbing your tray next!" But why would a table sat 30 minutes after us get their food first when both are ready at the same time?! Of course that table asked for numerous things I kept hearing her say "I'll be right back with that." It took her another 5 minutes to deliver our tray that was ready. That's absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable. I'm only giving them 2 stars because the potato salad and ranch dressing were amazing (open faced roast beef was bland) and my best friend said her fried chicken and green beans were delicious. Photo from my Google timeline to prove the wait (we did not dilly dally as I was volunteering all morning and was very hungry).
So we were visiting Castroville and my BF stopped at this restaurant to search for other restaurants LOL. We ultimately decided to just try this one out. I get this place is very old, but the atmosphere was very dull. The waitresses looked tired with no motivation whatsoever. The smell was musky. I got the special which was beef tips and mushroom gravy over noodles. The entree tasted like it was heated up. Nothing special about this place.
Wife and I ordered roast beef special...beef so tough that I should've ordered a steak knife to cut it
Went in for LUNCH @ 1-ish & there was not any place to sit .....only the front part was open with 10 or so tables. We were never greeted or anything. There were 2 people behind the counter they looked at us but ??? Someone was bussing the ONLY table that was "opened". I have eaten there before & wanted my hubby to try their food but Oh Well. As crowded as this area was I felt like they should have opened up a few more tables or area to make sure NO one like us WALK OUT cuz there was not any room/tables to sit at. This place has a find a table & sit. I like that but when there IS NOT ANY PLACE TO SIT. We walked out after about 5 min. wait cuz we were seen but not helped
We waited for 50 minutes for our food and it wasn’t very busy at all. The other guests with us Coffee ran out and they had to get up and ask another server to fill it up. When the food finally arrived it was all cold! I heard the quality went down but i will never come back. Also, the mold coming from the ac vents looks horrible.
Just an overpriced franchise. The seaweed on our rolls was chewy to the point of inedible. The easy thing on the menu to make, miso soup, was not good. The tofu was mushy and I mistook the seaweed for a piece of fat I couldn't chew.
This restaurant was questionable, service was so slow, we waited 30 minutes for some drinks! My friends chicken fried steak was horrible, quote on quote "tasted like glue" although the server was quite nice
Was excited to try this place due to reviews. Yeah not understanding the hype. The hot roast beef sandwich which I got was dry and the gravy added did not help. Our fried mushrooms were bland and the other plates ordered tasted like it was just microwaved. It was just not worth the price for everything. The only good part was the bread. Our waitress was nice and the staff was friendly. Not sure if this was just a bad day and they didn't have the staff or this is common and the other reviews were on a rare good day.
It was about 10:20 am when we walked in. Sat at 1 of 2 tables that were clean. Waited 6 mins before server came around. When we put in our order the server rang it up at 10:34. It was 11:45 when our food came. Yes, over an hour. My husband was ready to leave. Should let guests know your short staffed & food times to wait are really long. Ordered chicken fried steak, it was not done in house. Mashed potatoes has a film laying top of them. Dissatisfied.
⭐️⭐️ (2 out of 5 stars) This was my first time having breakfast at Sammy’s, and unfortunately, I left feeling very disappointed. To start with the positives: the wait staff was kind and friendly, and the homemade biscuits were absolutely delicious—light, fluffy, and full of flavor. I also enjoyed the pancake, which had a nice texture and taste. The pork chop, while small and quite fatty, was seasoned well, though it was on the dry side. That said, the scrambled eggs were completely dried out and overcooked. When the waitress saw that I hadn’t eaten them, she simply picked up the plate I had set aside, handed me the receipt, and wished me a good day. There was no acknowledgment or offer to make things right, which felt disappointing given the situation. The coffee, unfortunately, tasted old and burnt. It might benefit from a thorough cleaning of the coffee machines or pots between brews to improve the overall flavor. What really stood out was the condition of the restaurant itself. Ceiling tiles are falling apart, and the overall atmosphere feels neglected. It makes me wonder how long these maintenance issues have gone unaddressed and how they’re able to continue operating without tackling such visible concerns. I’ve had dinner here a few times in the past and have enjoyed it, so I’m hopeful this was just an off morning. I may return for breakfast in the future, but I do hope the restaurant gets the attention and care it needs—both in the kitchen and throughout the building. Sammy’s has potential, but it needs someone to really step in and bring it up to the standard its loyal customers deserve.

HORRIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE. We ordered fries, onion rings, and a salad for my daughter. I had the “juicy” burger and my wife had the chicken fried steak. They brought out my daughter’s salad, then the burger and fried steak came out 10 minutes later, and was COLD! Had to go grab my own silverware roll. 20 minutes after receiving my cold overcooked tiny burger, we are still sitting here waiting for my daughter’s fries and onion rings.
This restaurant is not good, the fries were very, very late, same with the onion rings, our server also forgot our salad, and my fathers “juicy” burger, came out overcooked and cold. Our server had also only checked on us once, even though the restaurant was almost empty. By the way, I’m eleven.
The waitress we had was an absolute sass mouth! They brought out dried, overcooked pickles and the waitress sassed back at us for sending them back. She is rude and very disrespectful! I’ve been going to Sammy’s since I was 17 and have never encountered such horrible service! Today is October 21 at 2:30pm. She needs to go!
The baked potato seemed days old and stunk like it was spoiled. Chicken fried steak was dried out and obviously cooked many hours earlier. 12/2//24 at 3 pm and only 3 tables were occupied so they weren’t busy. Can’t they cook me a fresh meal?
Went with my mother for breakfast, a TWO egg omelet with a ham was almost $10. Ordered 2 extremely small coffees, 1 small OJ, and small Pepsi and it was $12. We ordered no food because of the high prices. Atmosphere is repressive. Will never go back.
How is this even allowed to be opened? The drop ceiling is hanging on with a prayer and the spirit of Castroville. The menu isn't complicated but once the food came out, it was mostly cold and the chicken seemed undercooked. I didn't finish my meal of course....maybe took 2 bites of my veggies. Maybe it was an off day but it's hard to ignore the state of presentation in the restaurant. I love small town diners but this one was definitely a miss.
I’ve been eye balling this place since I first came to castroville to work. I don’t work here often but I am today. I ordered the roast beef it came with fries and spinach. The beef was hard and cold and the fries we also cold. I could not believe it since it looked so good. I literally just walked out! Never again ! I’m so sorry this didn’t work out as planned. I just can’t eat cold food especially meat! No way!
Okay I don't know how this place has good reviews because the food was just nasty. They got the order wrong. The potato seemed like it was old and reheated. The porkchop was the cheapest and smallest cut of meat. Thin and dry and overcooked with no flavor. Well only flavor was the taste of a burnt grill and pepper. My husband got hamburger steak but they messed up his order and added cheese. Bascially a thin hamburger patty with cheese. And very high prices. No way this food should have costed 40$. 40 dollars for gross food that this place has no business charging. Placed smells like mildew. Place is falling apart. It needs a face-lift bad. I normally don't write reviews and just never return to places I dont like, but my God do I never want anyone else to waste money for this low quality food. But I will say that the servers were nice. So it at least it has that going for it.
I paid $52 for 12 bean, cheese & bacon tacos!! Thats $4.30 for a taco! Not even a specialty taco! On top of the ridiculous price tag, they weren't even filled properly. Maybe, MAYBE, 2 tablespoons of bean, the barest sprinkle of cheese and not even 1/4 of a strip of bacon crumbled in. Are you out of your mind!!!
Did not feel welcomed also the wait was long and they got both orders wrong, and the nicest waitress there was probably the youngest
Absolutely the WORST FOOD AND SERVICE! We arrived and stood in a line at the door "they had a party group" then was seated to wait 25min for the waiter to take our drinks order ...another 25min No drinks stood up to ask got a" O-sorry it be out next" another 10min and I stop her passing the table to ask again.. got it finally.. now for the food that took 45min to arrive. It was HORRIBLE LOOKED LIKE IT WAS LAST NIGHTS LEFTOVERS! Started to eat however found that plastic or feathers was Inside my Fried Chicken!! Tasted off! See pics. They denied it was plastic and refused to comp the meal. WE WILL NEVER EVER RETURN HERE! CUSTOMER BEWARE!!! O and we got charged for items that wasn't brought out! Was just happy to get the he'll outa there!
Very disappointing visit, been here several times and this one was the absolute worst. We sat ourselves like we were told to do after being greeted by several staff. We sit and the girl cleaning a table couple tables over even said welcome. We sat there for about 5 minutes or so and we watched several people sit amd get helped, the girl even walked past us several times rushing to help the other guests who sat down. We've had good visits and my wife even left a 5 star review on our very 1st visit 4 years ago (I'll be having her edit that). We haven't been in a year and my spouse is a person of color so it makes us think that that was the reason. We got up and left after the 3rd table was helped. I really don't want to think that the was the reason but I can't think of any other reason fir them to ignore us. We tip pretty good too so its not making any sense.
