This is a must-try restaurant!! The ramen is one of the best I’ve had in the area. Ambiance: The service was really good, and there wasn’t too long of a wait. I honestly liked that you pay and order online, it was very efficient. Ramen: Everything about the ramen was great. I loved that the broth wasn’t too salty and had a nice, creamy flavor. The pork was insanely good. The portion size was great as well, and there were just enough noodles. If you need more, the side order of noodles is enough to make almost a whole second bowl of ramen.
This weeks special is tori paitan. It was so good. On par with what I had in Tokyo. Highly recommended.
Probably the most authentic ramen we’ve had here in Austin that is similar to our hometown NYC. We’ve been here at least 8 times already and that’s why I held back a a review until now. I like coming back to a place to test consistency of dishes. Savory broth and handmade ramen noodles! The texture of the ramen is perfect - not too overcooked and has a firmness spring to it. The ramen broth has the umami flavor we love and miss from NYC ramen spots. I enjoy the weekly specials that the chef also puts out at time. The Pork Chashu is seared the right way (I’m Chinese-American so I would know lol). I like the crisp sear that is lacking from other ramen joints (which I won’t name here). Some places really disappoint with their chasiu but they do it right here. The chicken karage is delectable with a good amount of batter to meat ratio. I think the meat could be cut into smaller pieces would be easier for kids and women like me with smaller mouths haha but it’s a personal preference. It’s self-service here which is common in Austin joints but I’d love if they could take it to the next level with waiters/waitresses some day like the ramen joints in Japan. I’ll never forget the delicious ramen in Tokyo and NYC, but for now, this is probably the best in all of Austin. Will be coming back again and again!
I was always more of a pho guy over ramen as most of the places I’ve had ramen at were just so so and a slight step up from the instant Tonkotsu cups you get from Costco. Ramen512 in Cedar Park just completely flipped the script with a superb bowl of spicy tonkotsu and now I’m questioning if pho is worth it anymore when you can come to this place for some excellent, grade A5 ramen. If you’re in the area definitely stop by and if not it is worth the drive. You will not be disappointed, 100% guaranteed. Take it to the bank. Back again and still fantastic. Nothing to show as the bowl is empty and my belly is full.
Joining the waitlist and ordering are all done digitally. I had a mixed of the chicken/dashi broth and the tonkotsu and WOW!! IT WAS PERFECTION! Highly recommend! The noodles were so good, the mental was fresh, and the ajitama was perfectly jammy. Worth the drive.
Ramen here is great. This is definitely NOT instant ramen... you can taste the ingredients in the soup and the charsiu is delicious. The eggs are also nicely done and you can tell that they've been marinated. This is one of our local faves.
The best Japanese Ramen in town. We always get the original Tonkotsu, and black garlic Tonkotsu. The restaurant also has some delicious appetizer like the Japanese fried chicken and other mini bites as well. Highly recommended if you’re in the area of Austin/Cedar Park for some delicious Japanese food.
Best ramen in Austin, hands down. Every meal I have had here has been awesome. I rarely spend money on eating out but this is one of the exceptions. Appreciate the regional specialties that are done as specials, really cool way to try bowls that are a little more unique. Noodles are made in-house and you can definitely tell - 10/10. Worth the drive any day!
One of the best ramen places I had in Austin. We pretty much ordered all the ramen we wanted to try - classic tonkotsu, spicy tonkotsu, black tonkotsu, and signature shoyo. Chashu and eggs were well done! Ramen was just the right amount and perfectly cooked. Had to wait a little bit to get a table at dinner time, but worth it!
This place is usually always packed, but we always have a seat fast & served quickly. I love their decorations, they’re super cute. I usually get the tonkotsu tan tan. The spice level is less than I would like but they have chili oil & spices to add at the table, love that! I crave their ramen every day!
Small restaurant with a positive vibes. Their ramen were very good. Spicy Tonkatsu is a must try. Tatsu ya Ramen is overrated. Koshihikari rice lager was crisp and refreshing! Must try. The ordering was quick from their website with apple pay. Spent no time ordering; made it easy for ourselves and the waiter. Quick service. You can also order with the waiter who was very friendly.
Exceptional and authentic ramen. QR code self service is a detractor, but not that big of a deal as the ramen is so good.
I saw that this place has a lot of good reviews, which is why I decided to try the food here. The interior looks quite simple — I wouldn’t say the decor is beautiful or that it has an incredible atmosphere. In my opinion, it’s nothing special. Just a small restaurant with a basic design. The prices are average. One bowl of ramen costs about $17 + tax. I was satisfied with the service. The guy who took our order was very friendly, and it was clear that he knows the menu well and can recommend a lot of things. There are plenty of free parking spots. We didn’t have any issues with parking at all. As for the ramen, I would rate it 3,8/5. It was tasty, but nothing extraordinary. I personally prefer the ramen at Tatsu-ya.
Ok I want to emphasize this review is coming from a vegetarian! So take what I say with the grain of salt. I am so appreciative of a ramen spot having a vegetarian choice for all us vegetarian people. I went with my husband and a friend on a Friday evening at around 6 PM. There was a slight wait and they have an iPad in front that you can add yourself to a waitlist. I didn’t see an option to add ourselves on wait list prior to arrival. The service was great - they were constantly checking people in even with the waitlist and trying to clear tables out to keep the list moving. We probably waited around 15 minutes for a table. So really 5 stars on the service they were constantly checking in on us and refilling our waters. I got the vegan tan tan and though the noodles were great, I found the broth to be salty and not overly flavorful. The description said it would have chili oil and I didn’t taste that at all. It really needed some acid or something to brighten the soup as I found the broth to be just one salty note. My husband had the classic tonkotsu and also thought it was just ok. Space is clean and slightly small. They do have alike a small bar in the back if you’re coming to eat individually very similar to how they do it in Japan. If you’re a big group of 6 or more know likely there will be a wait. Parking wise is easy and free as it shares the parking lot with Randall’s and is located in a strip mall.
Ordered the Signature Shoyu and Tonkotsu Tan Tan. Bold and full-bodied broths. The ramen noodles were average, not much of a bounce or chew and failed to retain the flavor of the broth. Solid chashu with a light char. The price was a bit high for what was presented. A good but forgettable bowl of ramen. Had to wait a relatively long time after ordering until the food arrived which was unexpected given ramen is supposed to be quick.
I went for their vegetarian options, so I ordered the vegan tantanmen and the croquette. The croquette was okay, a bit too small for $5 and the sauce was a bit sour. The tantanmen's broth was good by itself as it tasted creamy, but it didn't have enough character. With the noodles, the broth couldn't really stand out. The best part of the ramen were the bamboo shoots.
