The servers are very nice, the food is delicious, and it has great vibes. Very much recommend, as someone who has eaten here since I was a little kid. ❤️

Haven't been here in over 20 years but the food has only gotten better. The Tapatia, any kind, is the best ANYWHERE! Great salsa, great service, I will be back a lot sooner!

Been great forever. There chili verde is second to none. Always great service with friendly people. There shredded beef is so flavorful. Nothing else in Ceres holds a candle to Alphonso's .

Try the steak ranchero and ask for carmelized onions. Fantastic dinner with salad. Don't know about anything else. We keep coming back for it. Sitting very comfortable and great serving staff. Parking right in front. Closes early. 8:00 pm weekdays.

Great service, great family, awesome food and good drinks. I highly recommend the shredded beef tacos or the Chili Colorado. The family/staff is polite and really do care about your experience. There's a reason they've been open for 40+ years now! I highly recommend Alfonso's!

We are so happy to return here after moving away, this was our go-to spot for a great meal for many years. Today it was the usual high quality food and drink beyond our expectations. Thanks again to the staff for making us feel welcome.

I tried the chefs cheeseburger this afternoon I was not disappointed! 3 strips of bacon, guacamole, cheese and all the usual burger goodies. Came with onion rings and fries. Mom had beef tacos rice & beans. Great food tonight! Only complaint, the music was too loud & too many commercials.

What a happy surprise!Just passing through from Seattle and this was a hidden gem! Shredded beef is excellent!! Rice is flavorful and the beans are perfect!! Walking away well sated. Really really good food!!

The food was EXCELLENT!! If I had a single complaint it would be that I got full before my taste buds were satisfied. I got the beef chimichanga, my husband got the steak (with salad and fries), and my in-laws got the steak fajitas and combination plate. My mother-in-law and I got a tasty Sex on the Beach for $4 each! Not to mention the staff were all very pleasant and polite as well as prompt when we asked for more napkins, sauce for dipping fries in, and getting a Diet by mistake when I asked for a Pepsi (my mother-in-law was talking about diet soda while I ordered, so I leave the blame with that). We were there as they closed for the night and they were very polite overall. Will happily go again!

Omg I live in Ceres and never ate here until today with my friends. It was fabulous! Great service, reasonable prices and great food. Had 2 mango blended margaritas and they were so yummy. Our waitress was so on top of things and great personality. I'm definitely coming back here.

After 7 years in modesto i decided to try Alfonsos and I'll never go back again. The waitres was very friendly but the food.....not good at all!!!!! I had the chiles rellenos......nasty 🤮 and believe me i know about chiles rellenos, the chiles they serve were like big stuffed jalapeños......I'm serious they're nasty. I truly believe they serve can beans and the rice tasted old and hard. My grandson ask for the steak......no flavor at all, the "salad" it was only lettuce 🙄

I had the Al’s special which was also great and they have really good salsa. Probably my new go-to for Mexican food.

Started going to lunch here 31 years ago. Moved out of state and try to eat here every summer when I travel back to CA to see family. I have never been disappointed. Food is excellent and staff is fantastic. Food is just as good today as it was 31 years ago. In this day and age, that’s pretty amazing.

We stopped for drinks and chips, everything tasted great but the prices were a bit steep.

Overall, great resturaunt. Went there last night for the first time, wasn't disappointed. Killer chips and salsa, great drinks from the bar, piping hot dinner plates. Really pleasant family/homestyle vibe to this place. They were even playing country music on the radio while you ate, nice touch. First time there and my family and I will definetly be back.

They've adapted well to the shutdown. Same great food, well packaged for travel, using deep dish aluminum plates with secure lids. Call ahead, by the time you get there, your meal is ready. Curbside service with a smile. Menu on the website with link from Google maps.

Food was amazing, I had the steak with green sauce and M. Jack cheese with rice and beans and corn tortillas. Boyfriend had the seafood enchiladas and enjoyed it very much. Steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender. I love Chile rellenos however I wasn't fond of the ones they make. Overall had a great experience definitely will be returning soon.

I didn’t even know this place existed until I was one day searching up Mexican food near me and happened to find this place. We tried the Asada fries and they were pretty good. My only issue is that they don’t serve authentic aguas frescas, but other than that it’s good.

Less than authentic mexican food with above average prices averaging $20 a plate. Although this location is large enough to host large parties and is nice inside that is decorated appropriately throughout the seasons within in atmosphere that gives off a home vibe with friendly waitresses.

The food was molten hot and burned my mouth. I recommend the shredded beef, but do not get the ground beef. I had a ground beef enchilada, but it really needs a little help. The shredded beef taco was pretty good, however the crunchy taco was broken when I received it and had to eat it with a fork. Im all about supporting local small business, but for the same price, I could have had a better meal elsewhere.

I don't wanna be rude but to be honest. I was well attended great women was friendly. However the food they make is uncooked. I didn't wanna say nothing. But food was not cooked. Maybe cooked from the outside but inside the meat very red and somewhat dry. However they are friendly but food isn't cooked correctly.

Came for lunch on 12/27/19 with some co-workers and had a small issue with one of our orders. We requested guacamole with one order and didn’t get it. We start to explain to the waitress and instead of fixing our issue (bring us guacamole) that came with our meal she proceeds to argue and call US rood. We’ve come here plenty of times and this will be the last time. If you want a good experience don’t come here.

The service was poor, had to repeatedly asked for things like napkins, drink refills and forks. The food was extremely hot and salty. My chile regeno resemble a corn dog stuffed with nacho cheese, my son's burger was served on a hot dog bun and was dry and over cooked. The server presented the check when delivering the food and we were rushed after that. We were not impressed.

I mostly get orders to go for doordash. They keep me waiting for the wrong orders. Owner is really nice but the waitresses no. No manners at all. I wonder if they have waitresses that speak spanish because I haven't seen one and one of my friends said the food is tasteless nor real authentic mexican food. Where is the traditional spicy food? Anyone! Where is the authentic mecican food? Tell you where. My house😃
