I just went to Henrietta’s last night for my girlfriends and my first Valentine’s Day date. Boy did it set the mood, the low light ambience was really a great atmospheric touch. The staff greeted us with warm smiles upon entrance. We were served by Elise, who was so funny and gregarious, honestly added more to our date. They bring you the food as it is at its freshest. Which was amazing. We had the burrata, scallops, salad, peppers(get the peppers), gnocchi(get the gnocchi) and the chocolate mousse.
Elyse, our server was absolutely amazing. She made an already wonderful venue so memorable. Our party had the Wagyu Carpaccio, the Carrots, the crispy gnocchi, and the Halibut (market fish). And everything was amazing. And that doesn’t include how fabulous the cocktails were. Charlotte has a fantastic gem here.
Amazing new restaurant inside the Rally Pickleball space in Lower South End! The space itself is modern and industrial but still feels warm and welcoming. The food is top-notch — everything was so well done and absolutely delicious. The strip steak was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, the carrots were like crack and the scallops were a great size and super tasty. The focaccia with the butter was out of this world. So different. Big shoutout to our server Kylie — she was so attentive and really knew the menu. Splitting the bill was super easy too. Can’t wait to go back!
I was so glad I found this little gem in the south end. A quiet and elegant restaurant with a nice selection of appetizers and entrees. I had the Seared scallops which were served over risotto. Very very good. My server was very helpful with finding a nice white to have with dinner. She allowed me to sample two different wines from which I found a very pleasant white to have with dinner. I was so glad I found this place. Dinner was very nice, the service was excellent, and the food was outstanding. I will definitely be back to sample more of the offerings the menu. Enjoy!
We are very indecisive and our server guided us through the entire menu seamlessly, with a great attitude at that. Much appreciated! Quality of service and food are top-tier, and we will definitely be back!
Wow. I would absolutely come back here. Good was outstanding and service was amazing! Elyse was the best server I have had in months. 10/10 would return! Get the crispy gnocchi.
This restaurant was truly lovely, what a great experience! Veronica took great care of us and the food was amazing. Each dish was perfect, balancing being a little creative while not doing too much to detract from it being truly good food. I've probably never had better grits in my life! I definitely hope to come back :) Smaller menu, busy but not crowded, and very cute!
Our new go to date night spot in the neighborhood! Easy, free street parking. Beautiful interior and atmosphere. Fun open window seating at the bar to watch next door’s pickleball games. We sat at the bar that offered full service. Filmore was incredibly kind and attentive! The carrot and ginger cocktail was amazing… and each dish was properly timed and flavorful! Our favs were the burrata and the scallops. It would be great for drinks before dinner too! We will be back 💃
Had an awesome dinner last night at Henrietta's in LoSo. The restaurant is a collaboration between the owners of Rally Pickleball, Customshop and Marina's Tapas so knowing Customshop was involved, my expectations were high and it didn't miss. It's a concise menu with about 9-10 small plates and 6-7 larger plates (also shareable). Everything was delicious although we went a little lighter on the number of our selections since neither one of us was super hungry. The shishito peppers were amazing and the chicken with double au jus, recommended by our server, was divine. The carrots had a sweetness like a dessert with the ricotta and honey combo, and the oysters were flavorful with a refreshing mignonette. They have an indoor/outdoor bar that opens up to the pickleball courts which is fun, but it's also cool that you can walk next door to Rally and grab a drink (had an amazing cold brew cocktail) or coffee and lounge there in their comfortable seating that also opens up to the outdoor courts. Despite having the pickleball facility in the annex, Henrietta's has an upscale vibe to it so I wouldn't recommend playing pickleball and going to dinner afterwards without cleaning up first! However, doing it the other way around and ending the night on a comfy couch with a drink in hand while watching a bunch of young professionals loosely attempting to play pickleball at Rally was definitely a relaxing way to cap the evening.
The service, food, and atmosphere was amazing! We enjoyed the ceviche, burrata, beets, steak, & gnocchi - highly recommend every single dish!!!
Everything was good , atmosphere , service very good and food too , maybe the risotto was not as good as I expected
had an amazing experience. food and service and atmosphere was incredible i cannot wait to come back
The cook, Wesley, made our steaks wonderfully. Honestly he deserves a raise. The food was great the hostess was wonderful and the waitress was super kind. They also made this night lovely. I’m for sure coming back and coming back frequently. The quality for the price was unmatched for charlotte.
Alyse was the best server I have had. She created an amazing dining experience. Recommended the best food, always had a smile on her face and the best personality.
Visited Henrietta's for a date night and had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and both the food and cocktails were top-notch. Really enjoyed the Last Train to Oaxaca. Highly recommend starting off with the Focaccia. Huge fan of Gnocchi, so I had to try it and it did not disappoint! Chicken was fantastic as well. I will definitely be going back soon as seeing some other people's cocktails and plates wanted me to try those as well.
We went last night with friends and were thrilled with the whole experience. The staff were all super friendly and had great recommendations. The space was super comfortable and the atmosphere has super cool vibes. I cannot overstate how serious I am when I say the Half Green Circle Chicken was one of the best bites of food I’ve had in my entire life. Taking something as simple as a chicken and elevating it to the level they have is indicative of a commitment to excellence which few restaurants can claim. Henrietta’s is a gem for the LoSo neighborhood and will be regarded among the best restaurants in Charlotte.
I had the mussels and my wife had the oysters, hamachi, and shishito peppers. Everything was delicious. We’ll be back. The atmosphere and friendliness of the servers and hostesses were wonderful. We love the experience Disclosure: The owner is my stepdaughter and we couldn't be prouder of what they have built with Henrietta's.
What a lovely experience! From the ambiance at the bar, high quality cocktails and tasty plates, I can't wait to come back. I love a variety of cocktails and enjoyed the Roman Holiday and Sicilian Spritz. For our meal, we started with the Focaccia (a must and OMG the Chili-Honey butter!!!), then shared the Hamachi, Burrata, Mussels and Fettuccine. Friends also dining when I was there raved about the chicken and ribeye. The menu is built to share and there is something that satisfies anyone! Disclosure: I am a former Rally employee and my friend and I attended Henrietta’s. We will most definitely be back on many an occasion!
This place has such a cool, unique vibe. It feels laid-back but still special. The service was awesome, super friendly without being too much. The scallops were very tasty and the key lime ice cream cake was the perfect way to end the meal.
Absolutely love this place. The decor is welcoming yet intimate, food is complex and delicious, cocktails are uniquely delightful. The staff is constantly working to ensure you're comfortable and well looked after. If you haven't tried it yet, you should!
I visited Henrietta’s on Friday and Saturday and had such a great time! The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was excellent both nights. I tried the ribeye and the mussels both were absolutely amazing. Highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious food and a great dining experience!
Incredible atmosphere, amazing food and great drinks. Our server, Lily was great too! Shishito peppers and fettuccine are must haves! I work at Henrietta’s sister company, Rally, so had high expectations and they were certainly met. Excited to go back!
This place is incredible on all fronts. The vibe was elegant, professional yet relaxed and intimate. The service was amazing, from the hostess to the waitress they were kind, knowledgable, and there perfect amount of attention. The food and drinks were simple yet elevated, unique and such good quality ingredients. It was the best food I had during my 4 day visit to Charlotte. Definitely going to reorder the Gnocchi, beet salad, and Shishito Peppers next time. 10/10
This place is a must go-to! Don’t be put off that it is right next to a pickleball court (welcome to Charlotte) the vibe is so homey. The food is also amazing. The apps can be on the sweeter side so make sure to order a few different things. The steak was incredible - great proportions and cooked perfectly. This is definitely a shareable plate kind of place. We had Veronica as our server and she was incredible kind and attentive. We will definitely be going back for the steak ans Veronica!
Riley and the entire staff were incredible. Riley guided our entire table through our wine journey, recommending excellent bottles and dishes for us to try. We also let our server pick all our plates and they were amazing. The Hamachi ceviche was a particular standout. We really had a lovely time.
We came to Henrietta’s for an early Valentine’s Day celebration and it was absolutely perfect. Such a great vibe with outstanding foods and spectacular cocktails! Great for a date night or girls night. Truly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and the service is incredible.
We reserved a table for 14 through the manager. We had an excellent experience at Henrietta, especially thanks to our waitress, Elyse. She handled it flawlessly…checking in at just the right times, keeping everything organized, and making sure no one was ever waiting on drinks or food. Her service was incredibly speedy without ever feeling rushed, and she made our whole group feel truly welcomed from start to finish. Managing a big table isn’t easy, but Elyse made it look effortless and kept the juices flowing. Great food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service. We’d absolutely come back—and would specifically ask for Elyse again. Our order (below). We also got a dish of the gnocchi and highly recommend that as well. Apps: Buratta Shishito peppers Ceviche Main: Fettuccine NY strip Mussels Desserts: Key lime ice cream cake Chocolate mousse One improvement recommendation: Add to your tequila selection.
Food was lovely. We had the steak and the pasta. Drinks were curated and fun. Server Elyse was friendly and sweet. Our second time, and we will be back!
We got seated a little later than our reservation due to the hectic Valentine's Day weekend but the staff were phenomenal and so apologetic. Sent multiple on the house dishes and were so kind. We had a lovely evening. Thank you!
I went to an event at Henrietta’s (my first time there) and it was a really pretty space. There are private rooms for larger tables and a cozy atmosphere in the main area of the restaurant. I spent most of my time at the bar that had a good selection and was very well staffed. I tried some of the appetizers and they were great - I’m excited to get there next time for dinner!
Comfortable, Upscale: Your New Favorite Dining Spot What a gem! If you're looking for a low-key dining experience that feels swanky and upscale, look no further. I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Henrietta's last weekend, and it did not disappoint. Although I did not indulge in any cocktails, they looked great, and my fellow diners seemed very happy with their choices. Please take a look at the wine list - it's well worth it and offers a variety of styles that will delight any palate. In terms of food, every dish is familiar yet offers a little surprising twist that delights your taste buds. For starters, we indulged in focaccia, ceviche, burrata, and carrots. All were exceptional. My favorites were the ceviche (fresh? Oh, yes!) and the carrots. Let me tell you, I am not a fan of cooked carrots, but I am now! Everything was spiced and balanced perfectly. For mains, we ordered the mussels, the steak and the chicken. You have never had mussels like this: big, juicy and creamy mussels, and you will want to bathe in the broth (you will want to order more focaccia to sop it up if you don't want to drink from the bowl!). The piquillo salsa on the steak is a nice twist from a chimichurri, and the roast chicken screams rich, comfort food. I honestly cannot wait to go back and try the other dishes. The staff are friendly and offer excellent service. They checked in with us regularly throughout our meal and gave us space to 'ooh' and 'ahh' every time we took a bite. It felt like dinner with friends. My only regret: I didn't take any pictures!!!!
I would have never ordered the halibut if I knew it came with a hearty, red, chili-like sauce because that just sounds crazy, but it was so deliciously hearty-but-light that we snarfed up all the perfectly-cooked halibut and then ordered more focaccia to sop up the rest of the sauce! The best thing I’ve eaten in a long time
Tasty food and a classy ambiance! Our group of seven ordered a few small plates to share. The focaccia didn't have that classic airy crumb (it reminded me more of a regular artisanal loaf) but it was still fluffy and delicious — especially paired with the slightly sweet and spicy chili butter. The shishitos were flavorful and the crispy rice they're served with offered a welcome crunch. The creamy texture of the burrata was flawless, though I definitely wish there was more peach butter, and I think we were missing the almonds. For my main, I asked our server if I should opt for the gnocchi or the fettuccine, and she recommended the latter. The pasta tasted exceptionally fresh, with the tomato and basil sauce offering a bright, herby freshness that felt light yet flavorful. The crispy pancetta brought a rich, savory saltiness that tied everything together beautifully. I LOVED it and could have easily indulged in a second bowl. In my group's visit, we encountered a handful of hiccups in the overall experience, including not getting water for quite a while after being seated and one member of the group not getting her entree until well after everyone else had finished. They had just opened a few days prior, so some adjustments are to be expected. Still, I look forward to returning and exploring more of their menu.
Cute atmosphere, nice server, the food was decent- tiny bit bland. We only did apps & drinks so will be back for actual dinner. It’s worth a try.
Henrietta’s had a great vibe and service but we were disappointed with the food (3.5). The oysters stood out as the best thing on the menu but everything else - the drinks, chicken, steak, and focaccia were a little sad. Overall, wait staff was excellent but food missed the spot.
Best food we’ve had in Charlotte so far. Update - returned a couple months later and the food was not the same unfortunately. Sauces were watery and gnocchi overcooked. The staff was very accepting of this feedback and gave us free dessert and did everything they could to right the situation.
Went with friends and we all loved it! The crispy gnocchi was the table favorite and our server wasn’t lying when they said it was a “can’t miss”! I would come back here for that sauce by itself, so delish! The roasted carrots and half chicken were also standouts. As for service and drinks, Riley was one of the best somms I have ever spoken with at a restaurant! They loved learning about our tastes and recommending new wine to try without being pushy. We all thoroughly enjoyed trying something new and agreed that we would have to track the bottle down to add to our home collections! What a wonderful experience, I will for sure be back!
This place was pretty popular on IG, went here on a date night. No fault to the restaurant, parking is on the street or at the Sugar Creek Brewing Co down the street. The restaurant atmosphere was a cozy. The staff were extremely friendly though they might be a bit too busy for their own good. We were seated about 20-30 min past our reservation time though we did get compensated with a free side of bread. The menu is definitely a sampling or shareable menu. Saying this as a a 160lb guy, it would be kinda hard to get full off one or two plates. We got the burrata, scallops and linguine. Everything tasted good though again the portions were definitely small (without the free bread and me snacking a tad bit before coming, I'd probably splurge on more food). The food did come out sporadically, with our burrata coming out really late (like 15 minutes before us leaving). The cocktails took a long while too. The staff are attentive and courteous when they can be (kudos for checking up on us when drinks were out of stock or asking if we had dietary restrictions) but again a bit overwhelmed with the volume of people. I'd give this place a try again but maybe just some cocktails at the bar and then be of their more affordable plates to snack on.
My husband and I came here for a date night and it was the perfect environment. The restaurant has enough spacing between tables so that it doesn’t feel crowded, and also has a cozy yet elevated ambiance, perfect for a date night or girls’ night. Our server, Elyse, was incredible! We tried all of the vegetarian options and had higher hopes for the gnocchi (more sauce could have helped), but all other dishes were very good. Highly recommend the orange creamsicle cocktail!
I visited during the restaurant’s first couple of weeks and was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and efficient the service was. You’d never know they were just getting started. The space itself is thoughtfully decorated, modern, stylish, and welcoming. We had an early reservation (which I’d recommend), because the place filled up quickly as the evening progressed. If you’re visiting with a group, plan to order quite a bit. The menu is designed for sharing, and most dishes are portioned for two. That said, it’s the perfect setup if everyone wants to try a little bit of everything. Our server was knowledgeable and could speak confidently about the menu, which made the experience even better. I’m already looking forward to coming back once they’ve settled into their rhythm even more.
Booked a reservation for me and a friend to catch-up! We were very excited to try and support a local new spot. We went on a Tuesday; therefore, parking was easy to find. Our service was attentive and fast. The ambiance of the place was very beautiful, clean, and dimmed very low. I did find it enjoyable to see people playing pickleball from my table. Our server, Kylie, was amazing. She was very attentive, and she made sure that we were satisfied. She genuinely cared about how we felt about the drinks, food, etc. There was a moment where we got our food, and she came to check on us to see how we liked it, etc. ( We did not, and she went out of her way to replace it with something better). Either way, she was the best! She definitely made our dining experience better. I ordered the orange creamsicle cocktail, and it was good. My friend ordered the ' split decision ', which resembled an old-fashioned. Dare I say the presentation was a little underwhelming? Maybe crushed ice would suit the orange creamsicle better. Although very tasty to say the least! Moving on to the food. We ordered the corn, fettuccine, and ribeye. Just a heads up, the corn is served cold. It was decent. We finished the plate. Fettuccine was different and not shareable. She and I did split plates, but serving sizes could at increase a little. Even if they have to increase the prices, I'd be okay with that. We were able to try the gnocchi. My friend preferred that one over the Fettuccine; I was the opposite. I could note that the ribeye did take a little bit longer than anticipated. But it was worth all the other underwhelming plates. I would like to note that the ingredients are local and fresh. Something I could rave about. Being able to speak to the manager, it started with a "J", currently blanking on his name. He gave a complimentary drink. I would come back and order that again and again. He took good care of us, and he took our feedback very well. Overall, food is fresh and local. Serving sizes could increase just a bit more. Plates and flavor-wise are different, so maybe be a little open-minded. I would probably come back for the ribeye and just a few drinks. (Inserting pics for the people who like to look up the menu before dining and need a photo reference! )
Overall this restaurant was a nice date night but a couple of things were a little off- some things they can affect, some they cannot. Service - 10/10. Engaging and helpful but not overwhelming. The management clearly cares for their servers. Happy servers equal happy dinners. Kylie was great and would come back just for her. Management give her some props! Atmosphere - Nice in the restaurant but the pickleball court right next to the location was pumping the tunes entirely too loud. It’s a weird vibe when you’re spending over $150 on a meal and your only exterior view are people drinking and sweating on the court. Just know what you’re getting. Drinks - probably one of my favorite things about the place. However my drink was served with a bad pour and some of the drink was going down the exterior of the glass and stem. Flavor was great but presentation was off. If I’m paying $15 for a beverage I don’t want sticky fingers because of it. This is EXTREMELY nit-picky because it was wonderfully balanced. Light as a feather. Food - Have to say slightly underwhelmed. Don’t know who was tasting in the kitchen but seasoning wise - sometimes it would be wayyy to salty and then others extremely bland. Focaccia ok but the butter was lacking salt and had little to no kick from the chilis. Leafy green salad was light and refreshing. Carrots were a great staple to have on the menu but a little bland - however that would have been my favorite thing on the menu. Mussels - ok but the broth was way too salty and the mussels tasted not fresh. Like on their way out. Steak - weird. Flavor wise it felt like the salsa on the side was just covering up and poorly seasoned steak that didn’t know what it was trying to be. Is it instagramable? - Yes completely. Would I order it again? - Hard no. If I wanted a fajita I would have ordered a fajita. But if you’re looking at the pricing - we weren’t about to pay $35 for chicken when the steak was only $40. Honestly this dish felt like it was chosen for the menu for your eyes, not your stomach. Overall - it was a nice experience and date night but I don’t know if anything makes me want to dine there again other than a great server.
Went to Henrietta’s for a girls night out and It was cute but sadly I probably won’t be back. It is not the place to go with a group, the portions are really small and not great for sharing. We split so many things and many of us left hungry. The food was flavorful but nothing to write home about. We tried the burrata, gnocchi, carrots, fettuccine, steak, chicken and the corn. We got multiple of the corn, burrata and gnocchi so we all could try a tiny bit. I just think it’s too much per dish for what you get. I didn’t drink, so I can’t comment on their wine selection or cocktails.
Cool spot & atmosphere. Drinks & burrata were fantastic but they lost me at the food. Really wanted to like this place & look forward to coming back. We ordered the fettuccine & gnocchi ( $22 & $24) and were told they are smaller portions meant for sharing. Boy were they small and would’ve needed two to be a true entree size but at that price point no thank you. You either have to expect a large bill to leave feeling full or plan to pick up something else afterwards. No free bread as well, which could make up for the inflated prices. Maybe we will stop in for drinks & the burrata only again. If they double the portion size on the pasta for same price I think that would be a fair value. Otherwise, save your money for little mamas for 3x portions at same price. Hopefully they get this sorted as we would like to add this to our rotation of restaurants.
Enjoyed dinner here last night with my girlfriends. The food that I ate was good. However, where this place fell short was in the service. My table had order several dishes to split and when one of our dishes, pasta, came to the table, l noticed it had meat on it. I immediately informed the server that I could not eat it as I was vegetarian. She didn’t offer to redo the dish without meat but rather asked what in addition did I want to order. The table had already ordered 3 other meat dishes, the chicken, scallops, and a fish dish so there were no dishes that I could eat. I eventually ordered the gnocchi which was good. If the food issue wasn’t enough, the service was worst when my bill arrived. I saw that my bill had included a charge for a portion of each of the meat dishes. The waiter was aware of my dietary restrictions so it was very surprising to me that she had charged me for items that I did not partake in. I could have voiced this to my group and they would have understood but I did not want to make it a problem. I expected our server to have made sure each bill had the proper charges.
I debated leaving this review because everyone seemed to have had much more positive experiences but I found this restaurant to be incredibly disappointing. Let's start with the good - the space is super cool and trendy. We also had fantastic service (likely because we got there when they opened). Unfortunately, we were unimpressed by the cocktails and food. My husband and I are used to sharing small plates but the portions were laughably small for the price. The hamachi was about two bites total. We also thought the wagyu carpaccio was bland without the chips. We ended up going to another restaurant because we were still hungry. Sad because I was SO excited about this place!
Generally a disappointment. Service is okay at best. Drinks and food took forever but it’s a new place so that’s not unusual. Server rarely checked in on us. The drinks we did try were very good though. Some dishes were decent and others were not. The shisito peppers were inconsistently cooked. Crudo was good but the portion was comically small. The best dish we had was the mussels. However, everyone who ate them got VERY sick that night - like bad food poisoning sick. The scallop entree was pretty good and so was the chicken dish but overall prices seemed pretty high for the service/quality. It’s sad to see more mediocre restaurants opening in Charlotte with price points over $75 a person. Before the food poisoning I was willing to go back and try them once they got in the swing of things but after that I believe it’s one and done for me. Edit: before posting this review the restaurant had 11 reviews after posting this review it went up to 38 in the span of a few hours. They are definitely buying reviews or otherwise engaging in deceitful behavior to seem better than they are
Food was very good but the service was probably the worst we had in quite some time. This was echoed by another couple that ate there separately the same night who voiced their sentiments in the office the next week. Some of the issues included: 1. 30+ minutes behind to get sat at our table 2. Every food order ranging from bread to steak came out at the same time when the server stated they could pace out the dishes as requested. We were at a high top and they nearly had to place dishes on top of each other to make room. As a result of everything coming out at once, we had to force down the food quickly to avoid it getting cold. 3. Asked to place a wine order but never had a chance to as the waiter placed the order and did not come back until it was time to hand us a check. 4. Never given an opportunity to place a dessert order. It sucks because Customshop is our favorite restaurant in the city and we thought the food at Henrietta's was quite good. The service made it borderline impossible to enjoy the meal.
Same mediocre kitchen as the pickleball courts next to it but overpriced because it's under a different name. Looks pretty but awful acoustics; couldn't hear the rest of the 5 person party in a booth. The "shareables" can be finished by one person in less than a few bites and the "meals" aren't much larger. The carrots were undercooked, practically raw and the gnocchi was tough. I was still starving afterwards. The drinks weren't half bad but not enough to redeem this place. Service got progressively slower as the night went on. Decided to skip dessert just to get out earlier. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to escape that easily as someone was parked behind me. Turned out to be a dishwasher from the place and management did absolutely nothing. The waitress apologized on her coworker's behalf while the manager was walking around the restaurant ignoring me even though she was notified of her staff's actions.
I was warned by this place by two friends to not go to this restaurant, but decided to give it a try anyway due to popularity on social media. However, I wish I listened to my friends and chose to change my reservation to any other restaurant but here. The drinks are fine and the atmosphere is cute but being told from the second we walked in that a “few” parties were ahead of us after we had a reservation was the first red flag. What’s the point of an 8:30 reservation when we were seated at 9:25? We were told the kitchen was closing once we were seated but as a “courtesy” they’d allow us to order food? Additionally, the manager (I think) came over at the end and instead of asking us how our meal was, or how the service was, immediately accused us of not allocating our drinks we ordered at the bar and again told us it was a courtesy to separate checks. We told our server (prior to the manager coming over) and she was in the middle of separating the bill which by the way is a “ COURTESY” there. So poor communication on their part. Overall, we left feeling, frustrated, hungry and an inconvenience in the restaurant. If you like to wait an hour after your reservation, get a “shareable” plate that can be eaten in two bites and wait 2 hours for your check to cashed out this is the place for you!
