This was a great experience all around. Food, delectable. Drinks, excellent. Service, impeccable. Atmosphere, upscale and intimate. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and can't wait to go back!!!!

If you’re looking to impress someone (or just treat yourself), head to the 9th floor of the Hyatt Centric Hotel in SouthPark and check out Mizu. The vibe is upscale but relaxed, with clean lines, warm wood tones, and a mix of table seating and open kitchen views. The bar area glows softly at night, and the rooftop patio brings in the real wow factor. String lights, a wide open skyline, and sunset views of Charlotte set the tone for a perfect spring evening. Savannah was my server and couldn’t have been more helpful. She walked me through the menu and helped narrow down some of the top picks. The menu is broken into robata grilled items, small and large plates, sushi, and a chilled and raw section. Honestly, I could have ordered everything, but my wallet had other plans. I started with the seared tuna in citrus ponzu. Thin slices of lightly crusted tuna were served in a flavorful sauce that didn’t overpower the freshness of the fish. From the robata section, I got the Negi Ma, which came with two skewers of teriyaki-glazed flank steak. There was plenty of meat, and it had a nice char from the grill without being dry. The standout was the Iron Man sushi roll. It had spicy tuna and cucumber inside, then was topped with flank steak, chimichurri, and a drizzle of ponzu. Every bite had heat, acid, and richness. It was bold without being too much. Everything I tried was thoughtfully prepared, and the service was smooth from start to finish. With good weather, city views, and a menu built for sharing, this is a solid choice for a date night or a night out with friends. Just make sure to book a reservation if you want a rooftop table.

We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Mizu! Everything we had was delicious and the staff was so kind and attentive. The view of the city from the restaurant is also very nice. We will definitely come back!

1000/10 experience. The food was amazing and came in larger portions but you get what you pay for. The view was amazing and loved taking pictures there, the staff was incredibly kind and made the experience all the better. Definitely an underrated restaurant and would come back any day!

As a REALTOR®, I’m always on the lookout for great spots to recommend to clients, and recently I visited Mizu, an absolute gem located in the South Park area. Situated on the 9th floor of the Hyatt, this restaurant’s rooftop seating offers a beautifully designed space with stunning views. My mom and I started with the tuna tartare, which was fresh and expertly prepared. For our main courses, we enjoyed the salmon and sea bass. The overall ambiance made for a truly memorable evening. Whether you’re a real estate agent entertaining clients or a local looking for a delightful dining experience, I highly recommend Mizu.

A wonderful dining experience! We had dinner and sat in front of the grill for a great foodie experience watching the staff and chefs prepare meals. Started off with a strawberry Rita and sake sangria. Both were delicious and would highly recommend. For appetizers we had the edamame and crab fried rice. Would recommend trying their spicy mayo with the crab fried rice to elevate the flavor a bit more. Added in the maguro heat sushi roll and it blew my mind! Gotta try!

My husband and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary this evening, we weren't expecting much, just a nice dinner without the kids and normally we like to laugh about our terrible outings because it has seem to become tradition to get the worst table and service each time we find time to have a date night but Christina (Chrissy) at Mizu absolutely wowed us with her service tonight and the food was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly pleasant and attentive throughout the evening, starting us out with a champagne toast to celebrate our special night. From the sushi, to the appetizer, to the entree, everything was delicious. I don't have a single negative thing to say. The operations here between management and servers were top notch and we would recommend to everyone to come here. Thank you to everyone who made our night special.

This was my 1st time here & every single thing gets five stars all around! The hostess, Ava, was super sweet in getting us to our table outside. When we got there we noticed there was a little framed note & a tin can of flowers on the table. They'd read our note on our reservation & planned prior to our arrival this little treat for our 10 year anniversary! How sweet?! Then, our server, Rezee, was just plain amazing! Super friendly and sweet! Literally everyone who came to our table to either bring food or drinks said hello & "Happy Anniversary!" Jonas stopped by to ask if there was anything we needed & took some photos for us during the sunset. The food was outstanding! We were gifted champagne to toast and some brussel sprouts to try, which were so flavorful! We ordered the firecracker shrimp (big in size & great flavor in the sauce), the wagyu filet (extremely tender), the Shrimp Crunch sushi & the Kawaii drink. All were so good & filling! Also, whether you're sitting inside or outside, the ambiance of both are so beautiful and welcoming. Evening time with the sunset & beautiful weather is great for the outdoor seating. I must say, tonight's entire experience really made our anniversary night that much better! I've never been to a restuarant that was so thoughtful & intentional with caring for their guests. I'm now a fan & will definitely be back soon and bring more people to experience how awesome this establishment is.

Atmosphere was great, restaurant was designed beautifully, and the view is fantastic. Service was super attentive. Food was all very good. My personal favorites, edamame (super garlicky, it was great). Skirt Steak Skewers (great flavors, super tender). And the Maguro Heat sushi roll were all 🔥.

I enjoyed it so much that I went for two days in a row. If we had stayed longer, I would have gone again. The food was very tasty, with their fillet being the best melting steak ever, and the sides were out of this world. The Tuesday-Thursday specials are definitely worth visiting for. A special bonus is the sunset view and the atmosphere in general, which are both exceptional.

One of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte thus far. I have been twice, first time was ok, honestly not very memorable BUT… recently I went with my boyfriend on Valentine’s Day. MIZU’s Valentines menu was fabulous. We ordered one Prefixed men meal a ith Scallops, Filet and Pavlova for desert. Everything was fabulous. Cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. I ordered a few side items including the Brussels sprouts, Shrimp Crunch Roll and the Lobster from the wood fire grill and we shared everything. I highly recommend the roll and lobster!!!! The Brussels were pretty good but I’ve had better. I would eat everything again and even better than the food, the service was wonderful. Kim was very attentive and great with helping with making our decisions. I can’t wait to come back and will recommend to my friends! Beware it is hard to see, but the Valet is complimentary!!! We drove by and didn’t see the sign at first, came back after we couldn’t find a spot and luckily the valet is validated in the restaurant and we just left a tip! Fabulous night overall! Beware also the lighting is dark so pics Of the food may not be as accurate:)

Great place and pretty decent view from the rooftop. We got an yakitori (grilled chicken) and it was very juicy and loved the flavor. Entree was a hit and a miss. Pork chop was not very tender and little chewy, but the salmon was excellent. Staff were friendly and offered us free shrimp cocktail since it was our first time at the restaurant which was very sweet.

I wish I could give them 10 stars! My husband and I are visiting from out of town and decided to come here for our anniversary/baby moon. We made reservations on Sunday but unfortunately they were closed for Easter! The director John called us asap and let us know and immediately accommodated us for Saturday night. The vibes were amazing as soon as you walked in, the staff were all so welcoming, so knowledgeable about the menu and so so sweet. Our waitress was the absolute best.(I’m so mad I can’t remember her name right now, but she was everything!!) I’ve never had a more perfect dinner experience! She even accommodated me being pregnant while helping us celebrate, she brought me some sprite and my husband some champagne to toast and made sure that she didn’t recommend or bring us anything with raw fish and that meant the world to me. We will most definitely be back here to celebrate every special occasion that we can! They truly treated us like royalty. We can’t thank you guys enough for making our night perfect! (Literally, I think we said thank you 10000 times and it still didn’t feel like enough) HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!!!

This place is a good tapas (small dish) style restaurant that’s located on the 9th floor of the hotel it’s in. I like the cozy atmosphere inside as well as the overall look and feel of the place. The food was really good and was served quite quick (as well as in waves). The server we had named Julianne (I think) was great and very friendly. She was very polite and gave us her opinions in some of the dishes we were looking at as well as other great things. If you’re looking for a change of pace from traditional dining this is a good place to go to.

This was my first time in this establishment and I must say WOW!! The ambiance was very romantic yet modern. The views from the balcony were beautiful! Carolina was my server/bartender( I sat at the bar) was fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable of all the items! I had lots questions and she had answers and suggestions! The service was outstanding and food came out fast. All the staff was very welcoming and friendly. The food was wonderful. I tried quite a few things and everything was full of flavor! I would defiantly recommend and will be returning! ( Note, food was so good I didn't get all because I ate so fast...)

We had such a great time at this roof top venue! Firecracker shrimp could have been little more spicy but its based on taste i guess! It was perfectly cooked otherwise. The name was deceiving 🤣 lemon roll was delicious though. Sarah was our server and she was wonderful. We were here till closing and no one rushed us out!

This place is great [especially outdoor seating]. We have received a spot indoor to the very end of the place which was very isolated than other booths. Upon reaching out manager and staff, they have sorted it in minutes and switched us to outdoor seating 😍 and rest was great. Note: small food portions but yummy!! Cocktails 🍸 were great too. Thanks MIZU!!

I had an amazing experience for dinner. Everyone is so welcoming, the ambiance is great, and I loved the open kitchen when you walk in. Food was delicious. I had the potatoes and Lemon Drop sushi, the best sushi I’ve had in Charlotte so far (& I love sushi) ! Will definitely return and bring more friends.

We attended the soft opening and tried everything on the menu. It was AMAZING! The sea bass was the best I’ve ever had. The duck, the prawn, the salmon - we did not have one bad dish. Our server Ashton was amazing, the GM Russell was delightful, and I can’t wait to go back!

Tasted the menu, loved EVERYTHING! 😍 The presentation is on point, but the flavors are fantastic! The chef owns his culinary skills. The perfect balance of fats, salts, and char from the grill. So savory! The photos don't do justice. Spoiler, the upcoming elotes dish was so elevated, so good! And don't skip dessert here, the jellies are made in house!

We came a few times when it opened and had an incredible time. Just went again recently during restaurant week (July 2023): Kitchen (A+): outstanding food, plating, flavor, portions, extremely pleased with the food Venue and patio is gorgeous, place is nicely appointed. Great purview over Southpark on their patio.

The best experience!!! As a newly weds, my husband and I were looking for a relaxing, amazing view and delicious food. We found all of this at Mizu. Hands down the best seafood I have ever eaten here in Charlotte. We did tried a couple of options from the menu all very good but we’re amazed by the main course. It had great flavors and AMAZING presentation. But really, I think the whole experience was to the great service we received. The whole staff were very welcoming from the beginning to the end making the whole experience a very personalized and loving moment. We want to give a hug thank you Chef Duncan and sous chef Tucker for spoiling us with such a delicious food. My husband loved the Saikyo Salmon and I loved the cocktails which were so perfect as a great refresher for the hot evening. I’m looking forward to be back again with more family and friends.

Lianne was the best server ever! First time here and she took the time to explain the items on the menu and made this experience a 10/10 for us. Will definitely be coming back and recommending for others:)

Hands down the FRESHEST seafood I have ever had to date inland. Every dish was excellent and wonderfully seasoned. We enjoyed our food so much that we asked could we speak to the chef and thank him. He obliged and came to our table and warmly welcomed us. He also made some other fabulous small plate recommendations..he did not steer us wrong. They were also delicious. We planned a whole girls weekend at this hotel so that we could enjoy this restaurant and the hotel's other amenities.

This was my 1st time here and I can honestly say I will go back a 100 more if possible. All of the staff that waited on me were incredibly friendly. I was a celebrating a special occasion and they continually brought me Complimentary appetizers, champagne, and even a dessert! And several of the wait staff came by to say something about the specal occasion. Everything I tried on the menu was fantastic. I'm a huge foodie and I can honestly say they lived up to my expectations.

The ambience, food, arrival, service all A++. I am the biggest food critic and they checked all of the boxes. Flavor profiles are on point. They went up and beyond to make my birthday surprise an unforgettable one. My waitress was a-mazing! Recommendations to visit your restaurant have been sent out lol. Thanks Mizu. We shall return ❤️.

Incredible food. We went for Valentines day and went back again to take my grandmother, both times we were blown away. The views of Southpark are very nice, the atmosphere is great, and you have to try the grilled oysters (we ended up getting a 2nd order for dessert)

My wife and I have been coming to Mizu for some time now. I can honestly say it has become one of our favorite restaurants! Max, the GM, has been a gracious host and extremely accommodating. The service has been excellent and the food more than one can expect, especially given the seasonal rotation of the menu. We plan on continuing to enjoy the constant, and delicious, evolution of the experience. Well done!

Mizu was an amazing place to stumble upon! I have the Goplaysave coupon book and wanted to try it out for my 25th Birthday. Our server Emma was extremely kind and caring, and I appreciate her and the team making my 25th a wonderful experience. The group next to us was a little obnoxiously loud, but such is a warm and fun environment. Food took a bit to arrive but it was all delicious and filling. It was easy to find parking and the restaurant itself. I would love to try the balcony another time.

The view was beautiful. The weather was perfect. We had a small plate, 3 rolls;the Lemond drop, the iron man, & a new one the LFG. The iron man was the best! Had the Sea Bass which was okay. The best part was the cheese cake which is also a new item. I would have ate so many cheesecake had I ordered it first

I got to go, but from the visual of picking up and ordering in, it was very easy. The sushi roll was nice! The chicken karaage was a bit. . TOO finely toasted though, the crunch was very intense. They supplied dipping sauce as well, even though the order did not automatically come with it. I might try dining in sometime and see how it is in house.

Went for their first day of spring event, Mizu in bloom. Free passed apps, all were very good. Just had to order drinks if you so choose. The corn dog was my absolute fave. The drinks were great but a bit pricey, but I guess in the times we are in it’s expected to pay $15 or more for something. They did have a few a lil cheaper. Great rooftop dining views when the weather is right.

This restaurant was good. There were a good variety of appetizers to choose from and entrees also. Now there were more seafood entrees versus chicken or pork but they still had some of those options for people like me who don’t enjoy seafood. I ordered a steak to eat along with some good appetizers. I ordered my steak medium well and it came out really redder than what I had wanted. If I wasn’t pregnant I would have ate that steak up, but I was. I do believe the steak needed more seasoning. It was a bit blend. A1 steak sauce was definitely needed. I also did order the pork belly buns that were super delicious! I also did get the chance to eat the chicken katsu sliders! These were by far the best dish I ate there. I ordered and had the opportunity to try their food because I went with a big group who ordered different types of food. Overall, I would come back to eat again. This place was pricey jsyk.

Beautiful place ,we enjoyed sushi they were soft and delicious,big choice of wine and cocktails! Duck was beautiful but little bit not enough cooked (with juice blood) Waiter Jason was polite and did complimentary grilled pineapple for us ,but gift was cost 2$ )))we noticed and he remove from check

10/21/2024 went here for dinner with some family. We ordered the edamame, potatoes, mushroom, eggplant, brussel sprouts, and for the main entree I ordered the Chilean sea bass. All of the small plates were delicious especially the edamame and brussel sprouts! The Sea bass was very plain, they poured some type of juice in the bowl plate but it didn't really contribute to flavor! The seabass needed something added! I put some of the soy sauce and the sauce the eggplant was in on top of the seabass and the made it a lot better! Who eats just plain seabass without any type of marinade or sauce on top of it. Honestly even a tomato sauce with capers would of been good or a light lemon sauce. For dessert we ordered the milkbread dessert and the kobacha pie which was like spiced pumpkin pie. The milkbread pie needed some type of liquid on top maybe a warm apple type sauce or something, or maybe even some condensed milk. Personally I love regular pumpkin pie but the spiced kobacha pie was tasty. They had pumpkin seed brittle on the side which was yummy! These are just my opinions only, each of us have our own ideas of what tastes good and what doesn't! Just be open minded and try different things! I would recommend this place for a date night! The atmosphere was nice and relaxing and they had an outdoor balcony. It's on the 9th floor so there's a sunset view!

Third time eating here. food is good different ribeye steak was a little raw this time. Black cod was delicious and well cooked. Drinks are good. Service depends who you get. Our was slow but the first time we ate there about three weeks ago was great. Reservations recommended

We decided to go for happy hour sushi specials. There were only a few options so we got most of them to share. The sushi rolls were good but nothing amazing. The robata was pretty boring and didn't encourage us to order any off of the regular menu. The hand roll options looked good but were impossible to eat. Mine ended up all over the table. Our server was good but the food was slow. I overheard another server apologizing to another table about the slowness and blaming it on happy hour. They have happy hour twice a week and I would think should know how to handle that limited menu. Cocktails were pretty and tasted delightful but I'm not sure had much alcohol in them at all. I'll be happy to return to Mr. Tokyo for my future sushi needs.

My wife and I used to frequent Mizu quite often a few years back. We came back for a double date with some friends recently. The food was very good as expected, but the service was horrendously slow. We are generally patient and don't cause a fuss, but this was an unusually terrible experience. Our waiter was visibly frustrated and clearly being overworked. It took him nearly an hour to take our dinner order and our food didn't come until around the 2 hour mark. In general, it felt like there were just not enough staff to accommodate a busy Saturday night. The manager was also invisible the entire time we were there and never apologized for the wait or miserable experience. The prices have also become quite outrageous and the portions have become noticeably smaller. We have loved Mizu in the past, but probably won't be going back. There are just so many other places we can go to in Charlotte now.

We were looking forward to a great date night here- great views of Charlotte and had heard great things, but service took over 45 minutes for our server to see us to order a drink. Food came out slowly and then all at once. We tried a little bit of everything on the menu and nothing stood out. The manager did replace one of the items for us that had no flavor. Happy we tried it, but we'll spend that money somewhere else next time.

Nothing to brag about here. The food was awful. The only good thing was the drinks. But very expensive. It’s a place for just the rooftop views. But that is it!!! If you’re a foodie like me, you will be disappointed!!!
