Celebrated our anniversary dinner here. Staff was wonderful and seated us in a quiet corner table. Server Hannah was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, providing recommendations we were very happy with. The food was very well prepared. Scallop appetizer was tender and had sweet and smoky elements. The halibut was the most tender I have ever eaten. The tuna was expertly cooked and came with a variety of elements, both sweet and savory. Very highly recommend!

The food and service was excellent. We had the tuna and salmon and both were perfectly cooked and plated!

This place was a little surprising after seeing it from the outside I had my concerns. When you go inside it is extremely nice and the people are fantastic! Food is incredible and service is even better. We were extremely pleased with our dinner and for a medium high end dining experience the prices were extremely reasonable. If we are ever back in the area we would absolutely go back for dinner. I do recommend a reservation.

Our favorite dining experience in Chatham! Really impressed with their drinks and menu selection. Everyone enjoyed their pasta dishes, especially the interesting take on Bolognese. I loved the salmon tartare cones reminiscent of French Laundry. Least favorite dish was the fish and chips which needed a little more salt and flavor.

The tuna cones, dumplings and duck tacos were awesome. We then ordered the fish and chips, white bolognese and the eggplant special. All of it and the snowball martini and Manhattan were fabulous. Highly recommend! Ellen, our waitress, was great.

We were worried based on the mixed reviews but we had an incredible dinner!! We have eaten out every weekend of the summer and this was the best so far! I had a lemon meringue martini with graham cracker rim which was not on menu but delicious! The sliced medium rare sirloin and lobster ravioli with truffle cream sauce was to die for. Scallops and surf and turf for dinner and a peach cobbler with ginger ice cream for dessert. The inside has been nicely updated.

This place was absolutely fabulous! The decor he was perfectly set for a Beach Cape cod theme. Nice tranquil colors. Drinks were very well made. The food was absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be going back!

Fabulous dinner for 3. From the drinks, to the appetizers, to entrees ,one was a special request of no shellfish which was accommodated,, and then the desserts..Service was excellent. Can't wait to return this is our new favorite spot.

We stopped in at Pates without a reservation on 8/20/22 hoping to sit at the bar. There was no room but the hostess found a table for us and seated us right away. The food was amazing! Try the tuna cones! Our entrees were delicious! We skipped dessert but everyone around us was ordering desserts that looked lovely. The staff was like watching a well oiled machine. Taking orders, bussing, running food and taking time to chat with everyone.

First visit to Pate's and wow what a treat. So dissapointed we have not gone sooner. Food, service, atmosphere and cocktails were all fantastic. This is a must visit for any foodies out there. Great bar as well, we are looking forward to enjoying it on our next visit.

The seafood pan roast is to die for. The sauce is so delicious and, so much seafood!! Also, the quality of the crab in the lump crab cocktail is top notch as well as the grilled artichoke small plate. Fun atmosphere at the bar while we waited for our table. Definitely recommend Pates when you're in the area.

Great place. Visited the last day we were in the Cape. I would have gone there 3 or 4 times if we knew how great it was. I totally recommend this restaurant one of the best.

Pate's is a great location for excellent food and presentation. We liked it so much the first visit that we returned the next evening to try some other items on the menu. We were not disappointed.

Amazing seafood. Great prices. The atmosphere was perfect. Walked in sat right down, dinner was on our table 10 minutes after ordering and cooked to perfection. Jonathan was a great server. Highly recommend this place. Oh, and the lobster....not only tasted perfect, but the presentation was second to none. If youre questioning where to eat, don't! Get to Chatham and go to Pate's

We had dinner on the 12/15/24. It was all round a great evening. We recommend crab cake and tuna cones. Thank you we'll be back. Very excited you will be open on Monday nights during the winter! Compliments to Heather and Rose for making it a super night.

We loved our experience at Pate’s! Everything was delicious and service was excellent. The inside was renovated fairly recently and looked modern and classy. As someone with food allergies, I appreciated how the menu clearly listed common allergens, and wait staff were very accommodating with my order. I don’t often find restaurants with this level of attention and service in that area and it made a world of difference. Would recommend Pate’s to anyone and we will definitely be back!

Our final dinner with our son before he heads back off to college had to be at Pates!!!! The food is always consistently delicious! It's nice to come in and have the waiter recognize us from previous visits and welcome us back! The tuna cones are not to be missed! a mix of fresh tuna, a slightly sweet cone and a horseradish whipped cream. they are amazing! Thanks Pates! we'll be back soon!!!

We went for Valentine's Day and everything was great, from the host to the server and food runner, not a complaint. Our food was perfect, try the duck tacos. A snowball for dessert capped the evening, we will return

The experience was amazing! Our server Niko was the best. Not only were our drinks good it almost seemed like we were a priority. He was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely seemed like he cared about my family and I. Not to mention the Crusted Ahi, hands down the best. With the service impeccable and the food outstanding and of course the atmosphere doesn't let you down I would highly recommend to anyone!

First visit in 3 years. The menu and food has improved nicely. Highlights for us were the tuna cones and Peking duck tacos. Main courses are quite large servings and could be shared between two people. Overall, appreciate how this restaurant has evolved over time.

Food was absolutely amazing. The best shrimp I’ve ever had. The cheesecake dessert is so light and delicious. The servers were great. Can’t wait to come back

The food was delicious. We normally sit at a table but we decide the bar. It was very enjoyable and the bartenders had great attitudes.

Went for dinner on my bachelorette trip and had Hannah as our waitress. She was such a pleasant waitress and was very attentive and made the whole night feel so special. We loved her so much we wanted her to join us for a martini after her shift. While she politely laughed at the joke, we would have loved for her to pull up a chair haha. Amazing service and the food was phenomenal. Don’t sleep on the Tuna Cones and try to request her section!

We dined at the bar ( as we always try to do). Both bartenders were very friendly, made great drinks and knew the menu well….what else do you need on the Cape???

Last night we had dinner at Pate’s, and it was such a charming spot! The hostesses were incredibly welcoming, but the real standout was our waiter, Sam—he was truly fantastic. I tried my first dirty martini (with stuffed blue cheese olives!) and honestly, that might have been the highlight of the night. Absolutely divine. Sam personally made those stuffed olives. He did a great job! I really appreciated that the menu clearly marked dishes containing nuts with an “N.” More restaurants should adopt that—it’s so helpful. We started with the crab cakes, which were just okay. They leaned a bit too heavy on the filler and not enough on the crab. For my main course, I ordered the filet mignon. I asked for medium rare, and it came out more medium, but it was still very flavorful and well-prepared. The Hubby had one of their specialties, the potato chip crusted Cod. He thought it was great. If you're a potato chip fan, you should get it :) All in all, it was a great experience, and we’ll definitely be back. And if you go, do yourself a favor and ask for Sam—he made the night even better.

Was staying in the area for Halloween and asked our innkeeper for recommendations for dinner. She suggested Pate’s and we were not disappointed. The restaurant had a beautiful décor and ambiance. The front-end staff and our waitress were very relaxed and friendly. There were many seafood dishes to choose from and so many delicious specials. We ordered the Roasted Chilean Sea Bass which was on the part of the night’s specials menu and the Fisherman’s Pan Roast. Both were delicious but the Sea Bass was very salty. I absolutely loved their Pate’s Punch Cocktail! What a refreshing treat! The portions were simply perfect, so there was no room for dessert, but I do hope that if I am ever in Chatham again, I’ll get to come back.

Not the old leather chairs and wood paneling any longer. Vibrant atmosphere, an entire new look and a fabulous bar. Oh and the food was outstanding. Tuna cones! Gotta try these. Jack, David and Sara at the bar were worth the price of admission!

Nice dinner spot. Tons of parking. Ambience and vibe is great, service was pretty good, food met high expectations. I had a chopped Cesar salad, and my sons had Pate’s chowder, all very good. Wine and beer selection worked well, for dinner two of us had the Seafood pan Roast with fettuccine basil black pepper sauce and lots of seafood. Always a great dish at Pate’s and my other son has the special which was a bunch of grilled seafood in a superb sauce over rice noddles. We all enjoyed thoroughly, too full for desert.

Food is very good. If you are looking for a quiet place this is not one. Nice wine list. Dishes have some compliments you don't see often. One example is Miso rice noodle striped bass. High top tables are less noisy but still pretty loud.

Classic spot to eat in Chatham, especially for celebrations. They seated all 11 of us in one long table, and the server (Heather) did an expert job of handling such a big party. Food is good, not outstanding IMO

Beautiful bar atmosphere but $17 for a glass of white wine is outlandish.

Modern touch, fusion type dishes, great drinks and service. However, I have had better dishes here than what we ordered recently. Disappointed with potatoes crusted cod. I hope the management will take this complaint seriously. Plate looked horrible for the reason that it was an enormous amount of french fries that no human being should eat in one sitting. The plate was filled with french fries and topped with two pieces of potato crust white fish, that was edible, crunchy with lots of potato crust around. The fish was difficult to cut, especially that it was placed on the pile of french fries. So in order to slice through the fish, the fries and everything else was falling off the plate, esthetically unpleasant and not practical. The suggestion is to maybe have nicely placed fish on the plate with some small amount of fries and maybe a larger amount of coleslaw to make this plate look more appealing, healthier. and the quality of the fish should not be sacrificed because it is in the crust. It should be a nice, thicker piece of fish. This definitely was the worst fish dinner I lately had and very unappealing. Comparing to other dishes that are served at this restaurant, it was very low quality and inconsistent with the menu. Please consider changing this dish. Date of visit: June 2024

The new owners have really modernized the facility and everything about the place. It's much nicer inside. The bar is impressive, but the menu seems off. It used to be traditional Cape Cod cuisine, of seafood, lobster, clams, shrimp, haddock, cod and excellent prime rib. Now it is rather tasteless and boring (IMHO) Pseudo-Asian fusion at Boston prices. The place is packed, so maybe I am missing something, but it continues to underwelm. Oddly, they even took away the mints... Really?

Just not the same. Ordered a watermelon salad and the potato crusted cod to go. When I got home I discovered the watermelon salad had NO WATERMELON and NO salad dressing. I tipped on my pickup order but nobody bothered to check it before I picked it up. I called and was given the option of driving back for a replacement salad or a refund. I mistakenly opted for the replacement salad. It was sad looking and no apology when I picked it up. Instead I had to drive to the restaurant twice after tipping for my order. They don’t have the same focus on excellent customer service.

I read recently that food was hit or miss here, but we have been going for years on my husband’s bday and always liked it. This time though it was truly uneven. Grilled hearts of artichokes were excellent and so was my shrimp scampi. But my husband ordered pork chops, and we were surprised to see a huge chunk of meat, which turned out to have no taste and near impossible to chew. He asked to replace rice with fries, and though I have not been to a fast food restaurant in a while, I bet Burger King makes much better fries. On the positive site, our server Dimitru was super friendly and quick and very accommodating. Great waiter.

Mediocre to excellent food. But for this price, it should all be spectacular. Service was very good. Unfortunately, this didn’t make up for the lackluster food.

I’ve enjoyed many meals at Pates. But recently I and a friend ordered my favorite dishes and I was very disappointed. The wedge salad was smaller and underdressed. The Peking duck tacos were dry and the pasta in the seafood pan roast was undercooked and sticking together. We were asked how dinner was by the host as we left and very politely said dinner was disappointing and we were regulars there. The host said “sorry. “ I would have expected something more and won’t return any time soon. Not how I would treat a good customer.

We got there early around 6 at the bar. Attentive staff, but we felt rushed right away. We ordered drinks the appetizers. They came out really fast. Then the mains, which were off the mark. My husband had the swordfish, which was a bit dry and I got the pasta dish that had white sauce and ground meat with some peas and carrots. It was off putting. No seasoning at all either had to ask for salt that was caked in the shaker. Thinking of that dish still makes me feel queasy.

Please ensure Anthony Silvestri receives a copy of this email. Please do not delete this, as feedback, regardless whether it is positive or constructive is beneficial for any business. We have been frequenting Pate’s for more than 25 years, and our parents patronized the former restaurant under Bob Gardner for many years before that. We dined with a party of six on Friday evening, 11/30 and experienced a very disappointing dining experience. Here is a brief recap of some of the issues, which are not representative of the countless amazing meals we have enjoyed over the years: - Upon arrival and when being seated, we asked a young male host (who may have been the manager that evening) if he had anywhere to store coats (it was a cold evening). His response was curt and bordered on rude…”No. you can put them on the back of your chairs”! - Our party ordered a bottle of Flowers Pinot Noir, the server came back and informed us that bottle was not available. A second selection was made, and similarly we were told that bottle was not available. Disappointing we had to settle on a third choice. - The server, Amy, provided lackluster, almost curt and uncaring service throughout the evening. She asked that we pass drinks and food items to others around the table, rather than delivering them to our party directly. At the end of the dinner service, we asked for a specific dessert item (your famous Snowball), and were rudely told to wait, she had to clear the table before she would bring the dessert menus. - The Potato Chip-Crusted Cod Fish was overcooked and extremely dry, almost inedible and severely over-battered! - The White Bolognese was also a real disappointment. The pasta was overcooked, the spinach and peas were overly wilted and mushy and the dish was served at a tepid temperature. - The Korean Fried Broccoli was far too spicy, overpowering the dish, and overcooked-the broccoli was limp and unpleasant. With a bill of $600 and based on years of positive experiences, we expected more. Utter disappointment is an understatement. Not sure we will continue to patronize, or recommend one of our favorite Chatham restaurants again. We hope the feedback is used to improve the experience for others in the future.

Insanely overpriced for what we received. We ordered the scallops and a steak with dauphinoise potatoes. Scallops came with a puree that tasted like off mayonnaise. Potatoes were like cardboard. At $50 for an entree, I expected better. I walked away hungry. Based on other reviews, this place seems like real hit and miss.

We’ve made Pate’s a cherished stop on every Cape Cod vacation, it’s been a highlight for us. But this visit, was a complete letdown! - Drinks took over 30 minutes to arrive - Our appetizer—tuna cones—came out before the drinks, even after waiting 15 minutes to order them. - When they did arrive, the tuna cones were mostly hollow with giant, sloppy mounds of wasabi cream on top, barely a trace of tuna in them! - Wedge salad, had two entirely different presentations—ours sloppy and underdressed but the table next to us had a crisp, clean piled high plate. There was zero consistency coming out of the kitchen. It felt like no one was paying attention to quality—or even trying to maintain standards. All dishes were sloppy and looked very unprofessional. Meanwhile, the bartenders were completely overwhelmed, and the manager was standing just hangout out at the front or just walking around ( not talking to guests) , making no effort to help or check in with the bar.. you would expect an all hands on deck situation with how horrible everything was running throughout the entire restaurant. The manager did not offer any apology or acknowledgment of the delays.... And I'm sorry would have gone a long way! It didn’t feel like anyone was even in charge. The only reason we didn’t walk out was Julia, our server. She was kind, composed, and completely on top of it despite the chaos around her. Her grace under pressure was the only redeeming part of the evening. A five star experience, inside a 1 star dining experience. We’ve left Pate’s in past years feeling full, happy, and eager to return. This time, we left wondering whether the place we once loved even still exists.

My sister fish was over cooked and at 52 dollars , it should be cooked perfectly. I had the sirloin special and it was extremely salty. One glass of wine was $22. Very expensive meal to not enjoy . Disappointed.
