If you're anywhere near this gem, Pine Shack Frosty is a must-stop. This classic American spot has been a personal favorite since the late '80s, and I’m happy to say it’s just as solid now as it was back then. Their shakes are legendary, with what feels like 38 flavors to choose from, there’s something for every craving. My personal favorites are butterscotch or marshmallow. The chicken strips and fries are crispy, satisfying, and exactly what you want from a casual roadside meal. There's also a build-your-own burger station, which is both fun and functional, with fresh toppings and hand pump condiments served in plastic containers with lids, perfect for eating there or taking it to go. Under new ownership, nothing has been lost. If anything, the place runs more smoothly and efficiently, while still holding onto its nostalgic charm. Prices remain reasonable, and the quality is consistent. Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, Pine Shack Frosty is a local treasure that always hits the spot.
Good burgers, good service, decent sized portions. Must try the shakes!
My favorite stop when we're in chester for ice cream!!! I usually get their delicious milkshakes. They have so many different flavors. This time, I got a dipped ice cream cone, which was very satisfying. My brother got a hot fudge Sunday that looked amazing. It was small and looked like a large. So that definitely was a score.
WOW WOW AND WOW. YOU want the best burgers and fries you ever ate, this is the spot. Burger was huge, and tasted better than homemade. Reminded me a bit of Bob's Big Boy in LA with the shredded lettuce and taste. Spicy fries were cooked perfect, and you get a drink for a combo ten bucks. You could split this burger for two, a dbl deluxe. I cannot remember enjoying a burger and fries like I had here. I have driven by this place for years, and missed out, never again will I drive past this. Came in before the big Sept.5th close, and got an unbeatable chocolate frosty shake, taco, and perfect crispy fries with soft center. Even the ranch dressing is the best ypu'll ever have. Where am I gonna eat til next summer?
Such a nice roadside eatery! It's only take out only but there's plenty of outdoor tables with a little portable sink so you can eat those really good ribs! I think the best is their fish wish which is just the best fish burger I've had in a long time!! Would like to go back here sometime!
We stopped in for a bite to eat and a milkshake, one of their fabulous milkshakes I might add.
We drive thru Chester several times a year and always stop off at Pine Shack for a chocolate frosty (unless the line is too long). A sweet treat!
Such a great place! Yummy food and the best milkshakes!

Worth the wait if you see a big line! Burger, fries, cheese curds, and shakes were all super fresh and tasted way better than expected. Staff were friendly and efficient.
I mean, a frosty cone dipped in chocolate on a summer day? Does it get better then that? Always an annual tradition, and always delicious. Thanks for the shaded seating on the side of the building to enjoy the sweet treat.
We always go to the Pine Shack on our way out of town after a weekend trip. Sometimes there’s a long line, but the food and shakes are always out quickly and they’re delicious!
The pine shack frosty is a summertime institution in the town of Chester. Whether you are a local, a regular summer visitor or a PCT hiker passing through town -- the Pine Shack Frosty is a reliable source of summertime atmosphere and excellent frosty cones and milkshakes.
We weren't really hungry when we stopped as we were going through town, so we just got a couple of shakes and a large order of fries to share. What a mistake, we should have eaten dinner here. The fries were probably the best fries we've ever had! The shakes were good, we got boysenberry and raspberry, made with real ice-cream and actual fruit. This will definitely be someplace we stop again, but this time we'll bring our appetites and really eat here.
Can't get enough of Pine Shack Frosty. My favorite thing is th soft serve. Dessert prices are on the somewhat high price end, but generous servings for what I've had. The burger meal deal for <$9 is a steal. Love the small time drive up atmosphere and staff are always friendly

This is a great place to come and definitely a tradition of mine every time I’m in town. You are probably asking why the 3 stars. Normally when I come here I’d rate it a 4-5 but this time the bathroom was very dirty and my onion rings where undercooked. That is a star for each. The atmosphere, burger, and shake were fantastic though.

Me and the family went there on a hot day. The bathrooms were out of order and had to use a portable bathroom. And it was really bad inside them. We ordered food I got a double bacon burger well done and some fries with a chocolate shake. They had all kinds of different ones. The family got different kinds of food. I asked for my burger to be well done, when I started eating it was a really pink in the middle. My fries were over salted and not good at all. The milk shake I got was watery and I have had better from jack n box. Every wasn't to happy with the food. I will not be going back for anything.

Not the same since being sold. The new owners are cutting corners. The hamburger patties taste low quality. You now have to add toppings and condiments to your burger from a gross little cart. The condiments are walmart brand and are not stored in a food safe manner. The mayo was warm. So sad, I have been going to pine shack for decades. Why do people buy successful businesses and then proceed to ruin them by changing everything? Even the ice cream isn't the same.
Grew up going here. I will not be going back. Went a few weeks ago. Just for a shake. Nothing like they use to be. It’s filthy inside. Every table was in need of being wiped down. The shake was runny and tasted nothing like coffee. I thought it was vanilla, when I had let them know they forgot to add the coffee the girl rudely let me know she did. And another lady offered me I give me a cup of cold brew on the side. Lol. A little weird. But whatever. Thought it was an off day. So I’m today I tried again. It was once again FILTHY! Our burger was really awkward tasting. Kind of sour and dripping grease. And the fried which use to be our favorite we didn’t even touch. My cone was partially dipped so the ice cream was oozing out the bottom all over the place. I stood at the window to ask for a remake because It was dripping to fast no one came. Anyways. The filth and weird service was a bad turn off. But the food being gross also just was disappointing for a place that use to be a fun place to go growing up with good memories
Me and my family used to love this place we recently went and due to a new owner had taken over when me and my family went she messed up our order, overcharging us an extreme amount of money, then refused to give us a refund. The way she handled the situation was extremely unprofessional she was extremely rude and pissed I had asked for my money back and was refusing to give me my money back until I had told her how unprofessional she was being and she doesn’t know how to run a business if she can’t even give a refund for her own mistake she got mad told me and my family to leave and finally gave us a refund. The new owner is highly unprofessional and extremely rude and should not be working anywhere near customer service. We will not be going back
