El comal restaurant what's a really good place for me and my wife. We got there and they took care of us right the way. The waitress was awesome, the service was perfect and all and all everything was very good. The one thing you have to keep in mind is that you have to park at the back and you have to pay for parking. The price was .25 per hour. What made it very nice is that when we placed the order our waitres was always checking on us and she always made sure that we had chips and salsa as well as once the food was served that nothing was missing. They have plates for everyone, they have good food little kids as well as for adults. There is a handicap entrance upfront, they have chairs for little kids and also they serve cocktails. They have good desserts and very spicy and none spicy food. My wife and I really enjoyed the environment, service and food, we will come back another day. Did I also mentioned that they are right in 3rd Ave in Chula Vista close to ask the Chula Vista down town has to offer! Enjoy this place. P.S. the cook was awesome and the portions were big!
If you haven't tried this hidden treasure , you'll love it . Here's a few pictures chile relleno ,fish with garlic, and there cheeses found sauce.
The food is delicious! Authentic Mexican tasting food. The refried beans have an exquisite taste. The chilaquiles are crispy and delectable My mother is very picky when it comes to food and she ate everything on her plate!! She said the machaca was perfectly made. The service is friendly and prompt they accommodate and make you feel welcomed. They have hand made tortillas as well!! The Ambience is refreshing with great music. The hours have been changed they are now open at night. I highly recommend it!
Everything was so delicious. Restaurant was so nice and clean. Customer service was so great. Happy we decided to stop by and eat there. Food was fast. Chips and salsa were so good.
My wife and I visited this restaurant recently while visiting the Chula Vista third avenue strip. We ordered carne asada, some drinks and other plates while enjoying the US vs Mexico Gold Cup final on their multiple big screen TVs. The food was great, service was excellent and the atmosphere (Soccer fans) top notch. We will be back.
Great little Mexican restaurant located in the heart of downtown Chula Vista. Wasn't packed around brunch time on a Thursday. They serve chips and salsa before you meal. The queso dip appetizer with tortillas is really good. Very gooey and cheesy. They still offer straws, I politely declined mine. Server was very nice and attentive. They have a few vegetarian options, I got the veggie fajitas which came with a side of rice, beans and avocado. The tortillas are made there; they are thick and hot🤤. Between the appetizer, and my meal, I had to get a to-go box. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth trying.
This is a great little restaurant in the heart of downtown Chula Vista, we were actually going to go next door to the grindhouse coffee shop, but we were mesmerized by the pictures of wonderful Mexican breakfast dishes! The ambiance is very warm with cute little adages on the walls. I enjoyed the machaca con huevos and my husband had the Chilaquiles con carne asada en salsa roja, and we shared a bowl of menudo. A bit much for two, but I had to try the menudo. I was not disappointed! The menudo was amazing, the broth was rich and hot, a good amount of tripe, although I would have liked more honeycomb tripe. The best for last, the cafe de la olla, so delicious and free refills to boot! Service was good, the elderly gentleman is very funny and welcoming and seems quite attentive. It is so nice to see downtown Chula Vista thriving on a Sunday morning.

My wife and I were the first customers in the door at 9am.............we were greeted by 3 employees and welcomed in to come and sit down and check out the menu.............service was great...........drinks came right away............food a few minutes later............my wife and I really enjoyed our breakfast and café de olla............really good omelets...........we will definitely be going back.............we have found our new breakfast date spot............if any complaints would be parking if it was a busier time...........but showing up at 9am sharp we parked easily in front.............Thank you El Comal for making breakfast for us............definitely a family place or a date spot for breakfast.............nice clean place with great food service and music
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’ve been here three times now — first came in January — and I keep coming back because the food is seriously that good. Everything tastes fresh and full of flavor, but the Enchiladas Suizas are on another level. Absolutely delicious every single time. The service is always great, super friendly and attentive. The food usually comes out within 10–13 minutes, which is amazing, especially when you’re hungry. Definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to again and again. Highly recommend!

Food was tasty! Green chilaquiles with carne asada with eggs waere the 💣. Enchiladas suizas were on point as well. Cool place only opn 3 times a week due to covid. Fri.Sat Sun in the heart of downtown CV. Check them out!
Great place to eat delicious Mexican food, menudo was great and the taste was right on point, with homemade hand tortillas. The other food my friends had was tatsy, overall good, it may be a bit over price, but the tatse is there.
This place was very busy! We still managed to get out food within 10 minutes and it was great. I had a huarache Azteca! We also ordered a Queso Fundido. We finished it up with a Flan. Pretty delicious flan. The service was great but the place was a bit messy when we got there. Overall great experience!

Been here several times. It sure changed. Food was decent but service really sucked they brought everything at the same time even the drinks. Never came came to see if we need something else or coffee refills. I ordered 1 menudo, 1 chilaquiles, 1 queso fundido, 2 coffees it was 77$ a little extreme for what the order was. Oh and they also charged me for a cup of water. Be careful with the prices they do not match the menu.
The breakfast food was 5 out of 10 salty Chilaquiles and overcooked Mexican style beefsteak, be careful what you order cause they charge every item in the plate separately and not as they show on the picture - good luck with that!
Agree! Too expensive for what they serve. Food was Ok but , they hide the extra charges on the menu when you order chilaquiles is $15 dlls already, it says if you want to add steak or eggs but doesn't show on the menu that will charge you $5 dlls more, and for what? a very thin slice of steak half sizes of my hand. You can see in the picture how much was after cut it into pieces before begin to eat, they serve little of Chilaquiles , like 5 pieces (1 inch) of potatoes with lots of onions and barely 3 Tablespoons of beans. I order cactus knowing they'll charge $5 dlls extra, omg! they gave me barely the size of my hand and very thin for another $5 dlls. Didn't took picture of the cactus.

There’s definitely a lot of room for growth. My experience here was not what I expected first walked in there was a unique smell in the restaurant personal was great customer service wise. I asked for a caldo de pollo which they had. My caldo looked great image wise the soup it’s self tasted good, here comes the bad chicken was chewy like gum which I thought was wire decided not to eat it, from the vegetables the potatoes where not cooked all the way as you can see in the pictures nor the carrots they only vegetable that was cooked all the way was the squash caldo came with a small cup of rice and no tortillas or chip to enjoy it. And to top it all of it was 12 dollars for some thing I honestly think should of been 8-9 dollars.
Location was pretty empty. Took food about 30-40 minutes to come out. I ordered a Carne asada torta. What I got was bread, lettuce and meat. Food was beyond dry. The staff is very lovely BUT I don’t recommend eating here.
Been here several times food quality has gone down. Way overpriced. I will not go back. I would pick a differant place if you want a good Mexican breakfast chorizo tasted raw eggs were not cooked
The food is extremely expensive and not made very well. My total was super greasy and were refused more chips because we had Tortillas. We got dirty plates and cracked mugs. Our order was taken incorrectly multiple times and we had horrible service.
Awesome place,, music is great. Food however, super greasy. If you care what you eat this place is not for you. Cracked plates, dirty 🍽 silverware, dirty tables. Ypu Nam it. Waiter will greet you with a dislike face. 👎 not coming back.

The fajita I ordered was a mix of beef, shrimp, and chicken. The beef was dry and overcooked, and the shrimp was average. The chicken was good, but the flavors were ordinary. I requested no spicy pepper, but I ended up with over a pound of onions.
