Great spot to go during the week or weekends, great atmosphere, best bartenders. They make the best mixed drinks for your moneys worth. Both anthony and tiffany are amazing there. They have great sort of “events” during the week to make it interesting, best dj with choice of music. And out of every bar/club they have the best security team jerry and lance are always on top of things there. Highly recommended if its your first time.

Has to be one of the best local bars in my opinion. The customer service is great! It’s always a good time no matter what day of the week it is. Whenever my friends and I go and we see one of the bouncers, Jerry, we know we are about to have a good and safe time.

I’ve been going here since I turned 21 and let me tell you the staff here are amazing!! Especially security! As a young female who goes to dive bars.. it can be hard to feel “safe” in certain locations. But silver dollar always makes me feel so at home and soo safe. Especially Jerry the security who is always walking around keeping his head on a swivel. If a weird guy approaches me he’s the first one to walk over and make sure I’m okay. He is the most professional yet sweetest security I have ever met and I work in nightlife in downtown SD. He’s become a main reason why I enjoy coming to silver dollar as I know I can have a few drinks and still feel incredibly safe!! Love you Jerry 🫶🏽

Everyone is very nice and friendly and yes we do have a couple of rude drunk people who have no respect, but I’m very grateful for security for doing their job especially the security guard Jerry! I’ve only been to this Dive Bar twice but I will tell you, I do like the atmosphere, and the bartenders that are there during Wednesdays game night (I try to make it hehe) but I also would like to give special recognition to Jerry the security guard, he’s always welcoming and doing his job making sure everyone is straight, and everyone’s safety is assured. Also shout out to Andreas the bartender, you’re awesome for making my Liquid marijuanas drink☺️

A little rough on the edges, utilitarian and simple but a good place to go out with friends or catch up with old ones and have a couple of drinks. Bartenders were very receptive and attentive, prices were also very reasonable. Bathrooms are beyond dirty and the halls are a little bit too narrow. I also thought the metal detector at the door was a little sketchy.

My boi jose likes to hit up this spot for the cheap tall cans, entertainment, and loose women. Of course, he brings the worst out in people/places, so this place is actually not that bad (at least when he's not around). Really friendly staff and great location.

We were denied entry for wearing a tank top. It's the middle of the summer and it's super hot, what does a tank top do that it's so prohibited? The security said "we don't allow tank tops and tattoos" while he's covered with face and neck tattoos. Make it make sense. So disappointing especially for a DIVE BAR!

Do not go here. Security and bartenders are not vigilant and the owner doesn't do anything to protect the safety of their customers. They continue to serve drunk customers and when they finally do kick them out. They let them hang around outside instead of calling the police when the customers are victims of violence. The security is useless. People leaving the bar to go home get harassed and beat up by the same drunk customers that were kicked out. It's happened twice in the last 5 months. This place is not worth getting beat up for. There are better bars in downtown Chula Vista.
