Stumbled into Gruene while in town for the Final Four. We fell in love with this place. Great food, great service, and an awesome atmosphere. They also were very accommodating to my daughters milk allergy which takes it next level. Highly recommend!!

Just went here for the first time even though I’ve been to Gruene a number of times. Food was delicious and service was great! There were five of us, and four ordered sandwiches and one ordered the fish tacos. We also shared some onion rings and chips and guacamole. Speciality drinks were also great!

Mozie’s espresso martinis do not dissapoint! Now in our retired year’s, we like to try places near us and eat early. Food is AWESOME. 6oz steak is awesome. Look for the best waitress Emma. She’s hilarious & attentive.❤️ best place to have fun & have great food.

Downtown Gruene... really interesting area. After floating the Guadalupe at Rockin R I needed some good food and drink. Mozie's really hit the spot! Maybe it was the fact that I had a Templeton Rye, a bloody mary, and a Shiner Bock... or maybe it was the company and food... but either way I left full and happy after walking in hangry! I got me a Rueben, garlic fries, and meatballs... all were delicious. Get here and enjoy a unique, long bar, and some good pub food.

Took advantage of the BOGO October offer. No wait at noon on a Tuesday. Great service. Ordered two turkey sandwiches (could have shared one as the sandwiches were quite large). Added bacon and it was delicious!

A great place in the heart of Gruene. Personable, professional service with great food and drinks makes it a great place to stop for a meal, drinks or both. If it’s crowded they use a text when ready system to notify you when you table is ready so you can continue to browse the local shops while you wait. We enjoyed our lunch and will be back on another visit for sure.

A very excellent place to grab a meal while in Gruene. The portion sizes are huge and very very good. The atmosphere is very pub like with the bar usually pretty full and tables along the wall and in back. The service was friendly, fast and offered very good suggestions. The building itself is very cool as well. I recommend this to anyone!

Stopped in after lunch for a cold beer and cocktail. AC felt amazing as it was a bit muggy outside. We sat at the bar for about 2 hours, enjoying great company and tasty cocktails. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Bathrooms were clean and also cold! Eager to return and try their hot dog.

This place is probably my favorite restaurant in Gruene. Great burgers and sandwiches. Definitely prefer it over Gristmill, but I would say they’re biggest flaw is limited seating, it’s a very small space so I can imagine it’s a zoo on weekends and holidays.

Mozies has been our new local favorite lately! The food is delicious and the service is great! Can be a little crowded/tight during busy times but that just shows you how good the place is.

We frequent Mozie's from time to time. Sadly, what I went there for were the delicious meatball appetizer they offered, but they had sold out. It is a true testament of how popular it is. The place never disappoints. Just be prepared if Texas is playing. The fans get loud. This bar / cafe is a must try. I personally don't drink alcohol so it's the food and topnotch service that brings us coming back. Enjoy!

First time visiting on a whim while in the area. Staff was very very welcoming and when asked for suggestions, the staff was very honest. The signature drinks were on point...must go for the Lavender Lemonade! The Grown Up Grilled Cheese with turkey was amazing with the skinny fries was delicious! Super super super plus to the staff for noticing a group coming in and realizing they shouldn't be served any further when they walked in. Never have I seen an establishment be firm yet respectful to deny someone in the manner they did. 10 out 10.

Holy cow this is a hidden gem! It's been on our list to go to for a while now, and I'm honestly so bummed we waited so long. My husband gets a meatball sandwich whenever there is one on the menu and he said this was one of the best he had ever had! The meatballs were super tasty but the sauce was out of this world! Delicious marinara. Our server brought us dipping sauces for our fries so it was super fun to try a few of the different ones they offer

I’ve been coming here many years. My daughter Sara , ordered the hot dog! All the time! Every time I visit Mozies I try to order some thing different. Today I had the con burger which is a delicious grilled charred cheese burger without a bun. I also ordered the fresh homemade chips. OMG they are yummy. For desert… this is the first time I ordered this strawberry/jam cake… I recommend this place !

Hallway of a venue but, this place has yet to disappoint. Service was prompt and friendly, drinks were just right and our lunch was perfectly filling. Portions were generous for us but, fantastic nonetheless.

Their Anticucho on a bed of chips is my absolute favorite dish! It's a well-seasoned and marinated beef kabob that tastes like the famous beef on a stick we find at San Antonio's NIOSA event during Fiesta. It's a little tart, super tender, and incredibly flavorful. Try their salsa too! It's pretty addicting. And I must say, they have one of the BEST strawberry cakes 🎂 I've ever had! This place was awesome! A group of 4 of us stumbled in here after the pumpkin patch in Gruene and it was the best decision. The atmosphere is small- little home town-y vibe. If it’s crowded it can be a little loud but not bad. The service, even though it was busy, was great. Emma was awesome & attentive. The food was SMACK-tastic!!!! We went in the first day of the fall menu and the Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini was to die for!!! I will 100% be returning!

First time in the area and I'm so glad we chose this spot to eat! Busy on a Saturday night, but easy to find an empty table. We were taken care of by Shawn and he was AMAZING! From the beginning to the end, Shawn made sure we had everything we needed from water refills, to boxes for leftovers. I made a comment on how the champagne dressing for the side salad was awesome and he gave me a little to go container with said dressing to take home with me! Talk about great service! First time going to Mozie's today. I live in NB but rarely go to Gruene, and I was impressed. They were packed at 1:30pm on a Thursday, which is a good sign. I sat at the bar and ordered the chicken salad sandwich, grilled with cheese, lettuce, and onion. For $12, that was a fantastic sandwich. Service was great, the bartender was attentive and on top of things, even though she was obviously busy. I'll definitely be back and whole-heartedly recommend Mozie's.

Rustic Texas style bar and grill with great made from scratch food. Favorites are the Char King burger, meatballs, and roasted garlic fries. We go often for lunch and dinner. Would have given it a 5 star rating today as usual but the roasted garlic oil usually used on the fries was almost non existent it being the namesake of the dish.

Most of the time I come to Gruene and I'm going to eat, I stop here. The food and service are consistently quite good. The bartenders are always adorable young gals that are pretty knowledgeable about the menu and drinks, and are always very friendly. I've had a few different items on the menu, and items have always been excellent and consistent. Whenever I have gone, they are usually quite busy, and could possibly use another bartender, or need to be really be busting tail the entire time. They have always been good bartenders. This is a very cool, high profile place, that knows how to do things well.

Mozie's is in the Gruene Historic District, Just across from Gruene Hall. Rustic casual sports bar atmosphere, TV's ,serving fresh American food, cocktails,beer and wine. We tried the juicy tasty cheddar cheeseburger with skinny fries. Also the sliders & crispy onions rings. Loved that the burgers are big & cooked the way we requested - lots of melted cheese! Service was spot on! Friendly staff. I'll be back to try the shish kabob!!

All of which were great, but the Reuben was my favorite. Sadly I originally wanted the house chips but they were sold out at the time. The fries were still great and better than just places. Great lunch place in Gruene! Cool "brick alley pub" atmosphere, delicious food, fast and friendly service. Our server Geo was prompt and helpful. No drinks for us this time; I had the Big Dog and put some extra jalapeno and slaw on it and it was absolutely delicious. Wife got the Chopped Con which scratched that deep paleo itch. Both highly recommended. And of course, undoing all those good choices, we opted for a slice of their famous strawberry cake at the end. Famous? Well I liked it. It's famous to me, and that's what matters.

My friend from Buffalo’s wife wanted to visit Gruene on the way to Austin so we ended up eating here. I had a very good Rueben and some tasty onion rings. Service was great. One of the servers has an uncanny look to Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction

This was a nice spot in the heart of downtown Historic Gruene. The restaurant was cozy and everyone welcoming. I got the grilled cheese which I felt was a decent value, though my side of cole slaw was aggressively under-sauced so it was more like a bowl of cabbage. The margarita was strong and when they didn’t get it exactly right, they offered to remake it for me which I appreciated. Service was great. The restaurant was a bit small so I could see it getting busy quickly and a wait forming, but still worth checking out!

Place is one of the only joints open after 10am. Heading back Gruene Hall concert i was starving. Staff was very friendly. I had the panko crusted chicken and pasta. Was very light and delicious. Highly recommend the double dip. The guacamole was just OK but the jalapeño pimento cheese was fantastic

My wife and I came to grab a bite before dancing at Gruene Hall which is just across the street. We have been coming to Gruene but had never stopped by this place. It's very narrow like someone tried to make use of some underused hallway space. Nice ambiance. Brick walls on one side with several televisions playing sports. We had a table up front which made for some interesting people watching. The place was, and usually is (by my infrequent observation), pretty busy. Wait staff was attentive and kind. I noticed quite a few locals at this place which I always view as a good sign. My wife ordered the Anticucho Pasta. I thought the pasta was a bit overcooked but she liked it. The pasta was topped with tenderloin on skewers. Cooked to perfection! You could tell that it was actually marinated. Absolutely delicious. Strong work from the kitchen. I ordered the Super Cobb... Thank you for making a Cobb without chicken. I was also incredibly delicious and I noticed they did not hold back on the more costly ingredients. I paired with the Dunkel beer they have which I was very impressed with. On coming to Gruene, we usually eat at a very large nearby restaurant. From now on, this will be our first choice. Thanks for your addition to what became a fond a memorable evening.

It's kind of small like a diner would be, but the atmosphere is very nice. I took my family there this afternoon and I tried the Char Burger. I would have to say it was pretty good and the staff were very attentive to our needs. I would have to say I would definitely come back here again.

We had a very nice visit eating the garlic cheese fries and the onion rings. They were awesome. The chocolate martini my brother got looked good too, but I didn't try it.

In the past, I’ve had good experiences here but yesterday the nachos that my friend ordered were not good at all she sent them back. They used it look like square pieces of cheese, not nacho cheese I think probably if they can’t make them like they should they should not offer them on the menu. I had the wedge salad and it was just as good as it always isher food also took exceptionally long to come out. I was finished with my food before she ever got her food. We will go back in the future, but I hope that maybe they will take this into consideration.

We ate here for lunch. My wife had the Turkey Sandwich with fries, and I had the Chicken Salad Sandwich with Homemade Chips. Food was really good, as well as the service. We will definitely go back!

Great place to come in and cool down after walking around the shops. There are plenty of TVs to help pass the time. They have a nice bar for drinks. The food selection is great. The staff were very nice and friendly.

Best Reuben we've ever had!! Loaded with meat and sauce on the side. Waitress was great BUT the $10. shoestring onion rings in a tiny bowl were a joke and there was no sauce on the coleslaw, just plain cabbage(?) We both had food in our mouth when she asked how everything was of course ~ lol or we would have mentioned what's up with the slaw?

Service was excellent, prices were reasonable but my fries were not fresh, a bit salty for my preference & tasted like they’d been under a heat lamp for a while. I asked for well done sliders but they were both still a tad pink in the middle. I wished they used American cheese on the sliders as I absolutely hate cheddar but the meat was very tasty despite it being undercooked. I wasn’t impressed with the buns either but for “bar food”, it was filling. Things to note: it’s VERY narrow inside so be aware of this if you use mobility aids or have a stroller. The seating is limited but they do their best to accommodate. The restroom was very clean & well stocked. Parking is limited near the restaurant but ample parking is available across the street, in the large public parking area.

Good food small place. It’s not a place for larger parties. We went for lunch. Ordered the Cobb salad, and 2 meatball subs. The Cobb salad was served with garlic crusted toast and the sides for the meatball subs were parmesan fries and onion rings. Service was great. We would return.

It’s definitely a hit or miss when it comes to the food lately and find ourselves going less and less. The staff we’ve never had a problem with and seem to be doing their best when in the weeds, But this last visit the food was so bland. We first ordered the nachos and for the price they were I can’t say they were worth it. Just 8ish stale tortilla chips with flavorless melted cheese with about 3 pickled jalapeño’s on top of em. The wife and I had our usual, which is sliders with parm fries. We each asked for them to be cooked medium/ Medium rare but each received burnt, flavorless pucks with super dried out buns. They had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long before being ran to our table. Very unseasoned, very flavorless. Even the cheese really didn’t taste like much of anything. Which hasn’t always been the case for this menu item, We each agreed the only thing worth ordering again if we go back were the Parmesan fries. Those are still lovely and consistent.

Well, there is a lot of good looking food on the menu, unfortunately I didn't get any good food today. We went for a late lunch. I ordered the Southern Chicken Salad sandwich. When I asked the waitress what was in it, she wasn't sure. Disappointingly, she didn't offer to go back to the kitchen and ask. But she said other people order it and like it, and said it is a bit unusual compared to traditional chicken salad. I personally did not enjoy it and would not order it again. I tried the onion rings expecting the large size onion rings but received stringy thin onion rings that would not even hold together so you could dip them in ketchup and enjoy them. Even worse, the onion rings were cold, not an ounce of heat in them. They seemed like they might have been sitting in the kitchen and were left over from the noon lunch crowd. Very disappointing. My wife had the cheeseburger and garlic fries. Her cheeseburger was enjoyable, but she specifically asked for it to be cooked well-done, but it was not cooked well-done. I tried a few of her garlic fries and neither of us tasted even a hint of garlic. Even more disappointing, the fries were just as cold as the onion rings and also tasted like they were sitting in the kitchen and were left over from the noon lunch crowd. We were both very hungry so we ate the food anyway, but it was a very disappointing experience today. I don't know if we were just unlucky in visiting after the lunch rush, or if like so many restaurants after covid the quality is simply not there anymore. I shared my experience with the waitress when she came to check on us at the end of the meal. But she never brought it to the manager's attention and the only resolution offered was to bring us some more onion rings and garlic fries, but at that point we were no longer hungry.

10-16-21 Sat. afternoon took approximately 45min. to be seated, for a party of 6 of us, service was just ok, nothing spectacular, but just ok. What might seem odd....i was annoyed with their wooden floors, their unstable, and the vibration bothered me, as staff are constantly waking by our table, ok call me pickey. Nevertheless my food was just ok I ordered the Cheeseburger, (very little lettuce & tomatoes) and it comes without fries, so fries have to be ordered separately, actually fries were better than burger, but must add burger was hot, but not a whole lot of flavor. It's tough to do this, but I'm giving it 3 stars! This place is usually our favorite spot; we come here at least 3 times a month and always receive great service. However, today when we brought our family from out of town, they seated us quickly but at a small table for four, adding an extra chair on the side. There was a table behind us that they wouldn't let us combine, so we ended up feeling cramped and in the way of people passing by. My mother-in-law was so uncomfortable she asked for her food to go and went to the antique store. To top it off, the table next to us remained unused the whole time we were there! Now, about our server who reacted poorly when I asked for her name. She was rude and when I suggested putting the tables together for more space, she replied with a surprising comment. Despite all this, the food and drinks were still fantastic, which is why it gets 3 stars.

The place is small but spaces out nicely. Our server was attentive. Hubby had an amazing smoked turkey sandwich with fries. Very generous portion of turkey & avocado, which fed both of us. I did not eat my grilled cheese, that looks amazing in the photo. It was barely warm when it arrived with the cold fries. This sandwich would have been the bomb with spinach, 2 cheeses & tomato, but... it sat on the plate for so long it was mush on the bottom. It could not be held for a bite. The cheese has been melted and cooled so it was tough. Bartender did amazing. The manager apologized & took my sloppy grilled cheese off the ticket. Now, craving grilled cheese until I get home 🤣

Lamest plate of nachos I have ever seen. 15 chips and a couple chunks of chicken for $15

Four people in our party. When our orders came out 2 were missing. Server said they'd be right out. They came out as the first 2 people were finishing. Oddly enough the table behind us had the same thing happen. And our 2 missing orders were what the other table had ordered and were delivered to them immediately after our first 2 orders were delivered. And it was the same server. The manager comped our 2 meals and the other tables missing meals but that doesn't really make up for such a mistake.

Watch out the Cobb salad is actually a bacon meat salad. It was pretty grossly overloaded with meat. Definition of a Cobb Salad. : a tossed salad made typically with chopped chicken or turkey, tomatoes, bacon, hard-boiled eggs, blue cheese, and lettuce and dressed with a vinaigrette.

Bad service, almost waited an hour and a half for cold, tasteless food. The only good thing was the strawberry cake. The server ignored us while and kept disappearing in the back of server area and talking to another girl. We sat and waited just to get menus or get any type of service, we had to flag down server. Four other groups that sat down after us and they were tended to and got drinks, menus, and food before us.

Went out tonight with friends to get a bite here because they have really great food, and I've only been here once before, but tonight was not it. Firstly, I understand that it was a busy night and our waitress was wonderful. Many years as a server myself. But it took over an hour to get our food, watched people who arrived after us get their food, told waitress before food arrived we needed a to-go order and she was understanding. We were the last table to get our food tonight. So when we get our food and find out they're out of burger buns and the kitchen closed at 9, we were surprised. We didn't know the kitchen closed at that time. So our food came out after the kitchen closed. And then the manager came out wanting to know why we wanted more food, explained the situation, told her my bread was MOLDY i refuse to eat this, and our food is cold and my food was missing ingredients, manager lady then, gave me sass that my bread was rye bread so it looks like that, like I didn't know the bread my sandwich had and felt like she treated us like children. Manager comped our food And we paid for our drinks and left to get fast food. Tonight was very disappointing and hollow. We kept wondering if we said or did something to piss them off or if it was our clothes? Did we not look good enough to eat here? It was just really sad night.

I ordered a hamburger and had to return it cause it was raw. After getting it back this is what it looked like. I guess we made the cook mad!

We were referred here, but sadly we we're disappointed. We ordered the Big Boy 1/4 lb hot dogs with skinny fries. My wife ordered the Chicken Salad Sandwich with home made chips and coke slaw. ***I think management needs to spot check the food served. While our server, Trystan, was excellent, it was too loud in the restaurant, the Diet coke was flat, the home made chips tasted rancid, the fries were pre-salted....way too much, the chicken salad was too salty, and my big boy hot dog looked like a normal hot dog. We were starving and we didn't want to make too much more problems.

We were excited to try this restaurant based on the reviews. Disappointed to say that we didn’t get to eat because their largest table seated 4, we were a party of 5. This left one person sticking out at a corner, two others elbow to elbow. We decided to put two tables together because who wants to eat uncomfortably?? The waitress, Julia, told us we couldn’t do that because the restaurant is going to get so busy that we had to stick to one table. So forget about the fact that we were already there, they wanted to cater to people who weren’t even there. Terrible.

The service was fine, but the food is absolutely horrible. Avoid this place. Absolutely disgusting.

My wife and two kids walked up at 8pm on a Saturday night. The host told us it would be a 20 minute wait. We waited the 20 minutes, our name showed up as next on the list, and no one seated us. We stood by a clean and empty four top for 13 minutes watching people come in and get seated immediately. Finally the host came to us and said “the kitchen is backed up and they can’t figure out how to serve us.” Pretty sure they just didn’t want to lose out on a table of heavy drinkers by serving us. So instead the wasted my family’s time only to refuse us service.

Spent $15 on nachos. Waited 20 minutes for the order. We open the container and see this. 10 burnt chips.

Folks can't tell time. The waiting list is a moving estimate. I guess your place moves up or down depending on some unknown variable.

This place overcharges for all food items and with poor quality in comparison to the high quality reasonably priced great place across the street (i.e., Gristmill). They charged me $40 for one single ounce glass of Macallan's Single Malt Scotch and $15 for a pint of Stella ($55 for one drink order) whereas other local places charge on average $18 per glass of Macallan's and $6 per pint of Stella ($22 for one drink order), almost a 200% margin mark-up. I will never come back here ever again and I will tell all my friends and neighbors also. (MAJOR TOURIST TRAP) Save your money and go somewhere else!!!!!!

Wife got violent food poisoning from here today, the day after Christmas. Would recommend a health inspector go look at the quality of the kitchen.

Wow. Being a frontline worker now and in the pandemic and trying to enjoy the night out. We went to mozies because the majority of the bars were closed d/t rain. We went to mozies to have a snack and a drink. My friend and I went to the bathroom (couldn’t have been a more normal bathroom trip). Well they come back with the boys drink and said “per policy” they can’t serve us girls and we can ask their manager. Behind our server, was the “manager” and a Comal county deputy. We literally haven’t had one drink tonight. I’m actually shocked. What a establishment this place is! Especially when their own employee is snorting stuff in the bathroom…. It’s one thing to be truly intoxicated and kicked out but we hadn’t even had one drink. Warning: DO NOT GO HERE, they deny business for those who are sober. Update: YES we were absolutely speaking poorly about the establishment since we were harassed from the moment we walked in. Believe me, I wish I was intoxicated! 😂

Establishment has a dress code rule they do not post to patrons informing them prior to entering establishment. Rules are fine, post them so patrons know ahead of time. Management makes no exceptions and doubles down with no exceptions. Management staff needs to learn customer service. Will not be back.
