Solo me faltó musica japonesa xD
Muchas gracias El Japonez Polanco.
This is hands down one of the best japanese spots I‘ve been to, and I very picky with my sushi. The service was 10/10, they were very helpful and friendly, especially brenda she was so nice and her english was also very good. Everything about this place is amazing! The interior is also very beautiful. It‘s a must try.
A must-visit for sushi lovers and Asian cuisine fans. Their nigiri staircase is a standout — prepared tableside and fully customizable, making it both delicious and interactive. The starters and rolls are packed with flavor and beautifully presented. Whether you’re on a date or with family, the ambiance nails the vibe of the area, and the service is top-notch.
We went for a late lunch on the weekend. We got seated right away. The ambience was nice, some music playing in the background, but it wasn't to loud so we could talk perfectly. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. We ordered the Brussels sprouts as appetizers and the tuna tostadas, which were delicious. Afterwards, I ordered the Hanami Rice Salmon and my friend ordered the Rib eye ishiyaki. Both plates had a very good portion and delicious taste! Will definitely come back!
El Japonés in Mexico City is an absolute culinary delight. From the moment you step in, the ambiance strikes a perfect balance between modern chic and cozy warmth, making it ideal for both casual lunches and intimate dinners. The menu offers a wide range of options — from classic sushi rolls and sashimi to unique fusion dishes that creatively blend Japanese and Mexican flavors. Every plate was beautifully presented, fresh, and bursting with flavor. The quality of the seafood was top-tier, and the flavors were thoughtfully balanced. Service was attentive and friendly, and the staff were knowledgeable in guiding us through the menu. The cocktails were also a highlight — beautifully crafted and deliciously refreshing. Whether you’re a sushi lover or looking to try something unique in Mexico City’s vibrant food scene, El Japonés is a must-visit. A memorable dining experience that combines style, flavor, and impeccable service.
Super great experience eating here with my partner, we came here and ordered the Teppanyaki - ribeye with foi gras and fried rice, delicious, the show was amazing with the flame grill! And then we ordered a nigiri and sashimi set where the chef prepared the entire set infront of us, beautiful attention to detail and the service was incredible from all the staff. Highly recommend !
Excellent service. Beautiful, contemporary venue. If you want the full experience complete with the personal chef cooking your meal on the grill with lots of fire and flare, make sure to order from the “Teppanyaki” menu. These items are cooked right in front of you on the grill. I recommend getting the combo and fried rice (“Arroz Chino”).
We visited El Japonez today to celebrate two birthdays. The service was great and overall the food was amazing. Here, you can go safe to orden classic sushi rolls that you might have tried in other places, but my recommendation is to date to try some of the signature dishes that are really worth of trying. With this in mind, my recommendation is to order the rib eye rolls... Simply amazing. Also there is a signature roll that is lighted up at your table called El Patron: An spicy tuna roll with species with a mixed sauce made is Siracha, Mayonnaise and the house sauce. The Volcanes week also increíble: three small tostadas to taste different seasoned flavours: Shrimp, rib eye and tuna. Cocktails are very good also. We had some grilled pineapple cocktail with lemon and mezcal and other with berries. Both were great and fresh. Of course, I ordered Mezcal and it is very well presented with grilled fruits and vegetables. I recommend the Pierde Almas Tobala mezcal here. It is difficult to find somewhere else and it good to remind you that although you are at a Japanese restaurant, you are still enjoying Mexico.
Everything in their menu is really good. There is a lot of variety too. Staff is friendly and service is super fast. The terrace is great, so cozy, and with a great view surrounded by nature. Their fresh drinks are delicious, loved the lemon cucumber water. Beef is great, a lot of quality. Overall an awesome place for Japanese food.
Around the corner from my hotel. Outstanding service. The food was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this place. Hand rolls were unique in that you roll them yourself.

Today, my partner and I came to this restaurant that was recommended to me, and I want to say that they make very elaborate dishes, like the "Roll de la Patrona." We were served by a young man named …
Amazing! We come here pretty often because we love the place and the food is delicious. We will be back for sure! The tepanyaki is great!

great for a light lunch, the price and the size of the portions are well balanced, we sure be coming back sooner than later
The service was excellent, and the food was very well prepared. The environment is fantastic with an open air terrace and beautiful inside area. We would absolutely come back again and we’ve had…
The service was the best, you will not be disappointed. The food and drinks were amazing. They helped me celebrate my husbands birthday tonight.

The food is excellent, and the location is nice as well. However, the service can be frustrating; the staff often tries to upsell the most expensive items instead of asking about customers' preferences and tastes. If you order the Corn Cake, be sure to request that they don’t add Baileys, as it ruins the cake.
The food was decent and the ambiance was nice. We started with the chef's choice, which was the ceviche. I highly recommend it. Our main dishes were the Spicy Tuna Special and the Suzuki. I also appreciated that they offered free cokes for making reservations. Additionally, we were also pleased with the service. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Only downside was that the music was too loud for my liking. We could've done without it.
The service is really slow. The food is ok, but it’s almost impossible to talk, since the music is extra loud as a night club and the the type of music really sucks.
Have been going to this restaurant for years, very friendly staff and excellent service. Reasonable prices and good food.
Very tasty sushi- lots of inventive options and fusion of flavors. Good quality and overall very reasonable value for the money

Walked in on a Thursday evening to lots of available tables. This place is massive so I highly doubt it gets too full. There is an outdoor terrace, teppanyaki and normal table options. We had the normal menu, which is massive, so I doubted they could do everything well. However, my udon tempura tasted freshly fried with a wide variety of vegetables, the udon felt fresh and chewy. This udon was pretty affordable and a massive portion too. My father-in-law enjoyed his steak, which was cooked medium as asked. Nonetheless, my husband and mother-in-law ordered donburi bowls and both the chicken and salmon were super overcooked and too salty, these came with no vegetables and were more expensive than my udon. Service was good and very efficient.
For me when sushi is full of sweet souses and mayonnaise it is never a good sign. The sushi was the SME over 10 different rolls and the tasted the same. very expensive and all lacking fish to give a good sushi for me. The decor is horrible the wall that is supposed to be alive with plants is a black desert. Nothing nothing special.
Interior: 5 stars Sushi rolls quality: 1 star Service: 3 stars The place looks really nice from outside and inside. Recommend to sit inside and not on the terrace. Service is ok - took the waiters very long for all steps from bringing menu to getting check. But at least they were nice and friendly! However, the biggest disappointment is also the main criteria: the quality of rolls and nigiri is just below any standards. Nigiri rice was not sticky and the nigiri fell apart immediately. Rice taste is super artificial and a bit sour. All ingredients were just ok. Not very fresh. The taste was worse than any other sushi place I tried. Also, this place is Fusion and not Japanese. You know this immediately by the way sushi look, the fact that every waiter has a stereotypical Japanese word on their back and that at the end you get Chinese fortune cookies. Considering the price (>50 USD per person) for Mexican proportions, this was really bad. Parking and traffic is horrible as well in the area, but I don’t even count it in my 2 star review. Because this place does not deserve 1 star to be fair…2 it is.
The decor was great. The rest of the experience...meh. Disclaimer: we were tourists from the United States who don't speak great Spanish. The service might feel better if you speak Spanish. I wouldn't necessarily expect a restaurant in Mexico City to accommodate English speaking guests but in this neighborhood it was sort of the norm everywhere else we ate. The oddities of the service here seemed unique to El Japonez. The minute we sat down we were sort of descended upon by a waiter and mobile sashimi cart, immediately asking (demanding?) what sashimi we wanted before we'd even seen a menu. I experienced less aggressive sales people on the boats of Xochimilco. It got dinner off on a bit of a sour note. The menu was only available online as a pdf...we managed but it would have been a lot easier to use Google translate if it had been available as a website or on paper. We had some salmon sashimi (which was actually excellent), two basic rolls, and a specialty roll. Along with 3 glasses of wine it came to about $100 usd. The price was fine except the two basic rolls weren't very good. They were fine...just with an excessive amount of sort of sweet rice. The specialty roll was good but not good enough to make up for the others. It wasn't terrible but there are a lot of great restaurants in the area, you'd be fine to skip this one.
