We had a wonderful dinner at Hummus YA! Fresh and flavorful hummus, warm pita bread, crispy cauliflower, taro chips, pickled vegis + I want to go back to taste the eggplant. Healthy and delicious vegan food.
Carlos is a fantastic host for this Medittereanean x Mexican fusion hole-in-the-wall. The hummus is fantastic and so are their plant based proteins. Have not been disappoint by anything I have ever ordered here!
Great food. Felt incredibly healthy. Really great value. We had hummus, beet and orange salad, chickpea salad, and a “shawarma plate” (actually a soy based shawarma but it tasted AMAZING). The shawarma plate came with so much food— potatoes, tabouli, salad of your choice and the shawarma itself. Come here if you need a change from the usual condesa/Rma nrte findings!
Fantastic food — such a wonderful surprise. The shakshuka was truly a treat, loved the tofu egg and the delicious tomato sauce. We wanted to lick the bowl! The hummus was also very creamy and paired perfectly with the fresh made pita. The kebab was a treat as well—excellent texture and authentic flavors in there (LOVE sumac). There was not one bad bite to be had. The ice cream was also incredibly creamy, almost like custard. It had pistachio on top and had a rich taste of tahini. It was the ice cream version of the special Arabic treat halva and was the perfect end to the meal. Our server Key was also beyond kind, helpful in picking the best dishes, and told us how everything here is made fresh in-house with love. The best part: everything was made from plants! 🤯 Can’t wait to return.
We ordered delivery from here and it was so yummy, we just got hummus falafel and the cauliflower. The cauliflower is my favorite! This time we dined inside for lunch and it was even better. I got the shawarma barbacoa and it was sooo delicious. The vegan meat was so flavorful and the right texture, I want it again! The watermelon juice of the day was also refreshing. The potatoes were perfectly crispy and seasoned. I also really enjoyed the taro chips and pickled veggies, I wasn't expecting it but was grateful since we came in so hungry. Thanks for the great meal!
Suprise to find they only provide vegan food after booking a reservation but we were excited to give it a try. The hummus plate was super delicious, it was very rich and creamy! Also love the roasted eggplant, the tomato sauce underneath was excellent to have with the bread. The owner and the waiter are both very friendly!
Excellent Israeli food and really quick and super friendly service! Indoor and outdoor sitting, clean and casual. The upbeat overhead music was really nice and suited the atmosphere. Great visuals for the menu, everything we ordered tasted fresh and was very delicious. Portions are bigger than we expected and the prices are very reasonable. I definitely recommend
What a gem! This food goes directly to the heart, so delicious! Non-pretentious and to the point. The owner, Mr. Carlos, is such a lovely guy and explained the menu thoroughly. Their concept is easy israeli street food, their hummus are so flavorful and light, we had the falafel hummus and their falafel is by far one of the best falafels we've ever had. We also had the shakshuka with kebab and it was mind-blowing! Excellent balance of spices and the kebab, omg! I can walk miles for that kebab! The salads are fresh and refreshing and they even make their own pita bread. So much love in their food! I'll return again to try more things in their menu. Bravo!
Last Sunday was my final night in Mexico City. After having more than enough Mexican food during my stay, I was looking for something different. La Hummusiya was excellent. It was quite and peaceful. I had a Hummus Dish and the Chicken Schwarma. Both excellent and very different from the middle eastern food where I am from. The owner and his staff provided excellent service as well. Only downfall was the price. $557 pesos for both items and a Coke.
I got the falafel laffa. I thought overall it was just average, cost $13us. Not very fresh.. laffa tasted like it was microwaved. Not as good as the reviews alluded to. The pictures show a stand alone location but they have downgraded to a food court.
Don't go here if you're gluten free. I was perfectly prepared not to be able to eat here, but figured I'd ask as I'd seen another review claiming at was possible. The first staff we asked said nothing is gluten free, but then he started saying the falafel/hummous/salad is gf. The second staff said everything is gluten free except the ragu - he spent a long time trying to convince me the pitta bread is gf, even along with the chef!! Only after my husband told them it's an allergy did they come back and say it's not gf... We ordered me the plain soy shawarma/veggies dish and my husband a lavash and a side of falafel. They forget to make the falafel (after paying). Cost $636 total. The falafel was extremely burnt on the outside but uncooked wet mush inside. The rest was okay but not great especially for the price. He found not one but two extremely long hairs in the lavash. See pictures attached, he pulled the first hair out, then discovered a second later on. Had a gluten reaction :))))))))) This was the only thing I had eaten that day so i'm 100% it was here. In hindsight after those interactions it was clearly gonna happen.
Hummus is worse than what you buy at the supermarket and the potatoes are flavorless. The portions are small and the prices are just incredibly high. The two green sauces are good, if too parsley forward. The service is not great. The presentation is amazing! But I care about how food tastes, not how artfully it’s displayed. Would have been nice if the restaurant followed some of the local customs, like a dish of cut limes on the table, which may have really improved the flavors.
