gorge was a fabulous server & everyone was perfectly attentive. we didn't have to wait for anything, they all moved like a well oiled machine. and the food was delicious and perfectly prepared. it was a modest looking enough establishment, but the menu was absolutely worth ordering. i have never had a good crab cake i liked & these i would order as a meal! and everything was beautifully crafted like art on a plate. perfect experience! thank you for making our 16th wedding anniversary so special!
Love this place from the 1st time my wife and I came here on our 1st wedding anniversary 21 years to today. The food is excellent, the service is great. Took some customers there and they were all impressed. The garlic shrimp appetizer is awesome...a must get. Had the Spanish sausage appetizer..wow really good. We had steak special, tortellini, chicken dish and paella...all were fantastic. Very reasonable priced...for 2 appetizers, 4 drinks, 4 meals $230 including tax... I love coming here can't wait for next visit.
This restaurant is amazing in every aspect! The atmosphere, the food and the service, definitely top tier! I would give more than 5 stars if possible. Jorge was our server but everyone helped. The staff is super friendly and attentive. One of the best restaurants in Cleveland by far. Among the few I would highly recommend. We had the paella, stuffed mushrooms, calamari, t-bone steak, lobster ravioli, and pork chops. It came with family style steamed vegetables, saffron rice and potato chips. I can't wait to visit again. Thank you Jorge and staff for an absolutely amazing New Year's Day dining experience.
Very underrated restaurant, very authentic Spanish food, very reasonable prices, and the service omg felt so special and so respected and appreciated Jorge was one of the best servers I've met in my life and so detailed and has special character, and the fountain coke was different then regular restaurant .overall I'll be back with whole family and friends very recommended place.
The food here was absolutely delicious! The staff was so nice. I LOVED Tatiana she was an amazing server. I almost forgot my dessert but she remembered and brought it out for me as I was packing up. I did not order off the actual menu, I ordered the Restaurant Week Salmon special and it did not disappoint at all. The calamari with the fresh lemon tasted so fresh. My salmon was so soft and the crab meat filling was the perfect addition to the fish. My favorite "dish" of the night was the sangria!!! so good and the pitcher was the perfect amount for two people. I also liked how the sides were made for sharing. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very homey, I really enjoyed myself.
Mallorca is our favorite restaurant in Cleveland. We come here every time we are in town. Everyone is nice, friendly and service is impeccable. The garlic soup is to die for. We have never had a bad meal here.
One of my favorite places for Portuguese cuisine in the Cleveland area - the service is so charming and exceptional; I deeply regret not getting our waiter's name because he was fantastic: very attentive, incredibly friendly, very knowledgeably and passionately shared specials with us and commended us on our choices, and really made me appreciate the place and want to stay longer. The food was the star and highlight - bursting with flavor, gorgeous, vibrant colors, cooked to perfection. We began with an order of mushrooms stufffed with crab, about which the only complaint I have is how quickly they disappeared. I had the paella, something they're known for and deservedly so - the portion was generously filled with meats and seafoods of many kinds. Lastly, I ended with an incredible lemoncello pie slice - uncontestedly the most fragrant, genuinely delectable dessert I've ever consumed. These accompanied by a gorgeous, clean restaurant, charming staff, and all-around beautifully cultural atmosphere - I would carry someone here to try it (the check is their's).
This quaint, cozy, and elegant restaurant is a must for any lover of delicious food in Cleveland! We came to Mallorca while on holiday; the staff were quick to make us feel like family. I tried the award winning Sangria and it was HEAVEN - the best sangria I’ve had in the states! I also had the pork special and it tasted like a grandma had spent 4+ hours in the kitchen making it especially for me. The staff were so kind and gracious. I will definitely come back and cannot recommend this outstanding restaurant more!! Well done!
Truly an amazing atmosphere. No other place quiet comes close! #mallorcacleveland @mallorcacleveland #buzzybooth
Everything was excellent! Loved the fish and the tuna. The appetizers were excellent, especially the chorizo and octopus. The caramel pie was also exquisite. The only thing that needed a little work was the chicken, it should have probably just been grilled instead of breaded. The service was super nice and the place was really nice!
Excellent specials and an eclectic menu. Top notch service and a nice, very clean space. Our server was animated and engaging. We shared the crab cake appetizer and the octopus. Both were amazingly good, and the octopus was very tender. I enjoyed the stuffed salmon special. Very unique and flavorful. All in all a great experience.
We really enjoyed the seafood paella and the flambe sausage that was a special for the evening. The sangria is unique and delicious. The service was friendly and timely.
This one of my all time favorite places in Ohio! Mallorca transports you to Spain/Portugal without a passport and delivers authentic cuisine anyone can enjoy and leave full and happy. You have to start with the octopus appetizer that will make you a believer. Its one of my top ten favorite foods I've ever eaten, and I eat A LOT of food. I call it the bacon of the sea. Every meal is served with saffron rice, potato chips, and fresh veggies. You cannot go wrong with the Mariscada en Salsa de Ajo, which is Lobster, clams, mussels, shrimp, and scallops in a delicious garlic sauce. Get messy and dive in! My husband had the Ternera Siciliana which is lightly breaded veal in a white cream sauce w mozzarella and Spanish chorizo. It was my birthday and the owner came to our table and personally wished me a happy birthday and had the staff come and sing for me in Spanish with a complimentary piece of the most delectable raspberry cake and I'm not even a dessert person! All in all it was such an amazing evening and I highly recommend a visit here, you will not be disappointed.
This place was fantastic. Went here for a nice celebratory dinner and was not disappointed. The service was amazing, and our server was helpful and very friendly. The food was delicious, and they give a very generous serving. The stuffed salmon was the best salmon I’ve had in a long time, and all the sides were great. The mariscada had a ton of seafood! The flan was also delicious, and the sangria was plentiful and tasty. Would definitely recommend!
Mallorca is the best restaurant in Cleveland, delivering an experience that feels both elevated and heartfelt. The food is consistently top notch, with beautifully prepared Spanish and Portuguese dishes that balance bold flavor and elegant presentation. Every plate reflects care, tradition, and craftsmanship. The service goes above and beyond, making guests feel welcomed, valued, and genuinely appreciated from the moment they arrive. Staff members anticipate needs without hovering, creating a seamless dining experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, filled with love and gratitude, making every meal feel like a special occasion worth savoring.
We went here to celebrate our Anniversary! Loved the atmosphere, quaint and relaxing ! The staff is friendly and attentive! We had Paella.. it was awesome ! You will not leave hungry! I had an octopus appetizer that was excellent and my husband had a sausage appetizer that was excellent as well! I loved that is was quiet enough to converse and relax throughout dinner. Service was top notch! Loved our waiter,he had great energy!! We will definitely go back!
My sister and I came here for the Cleveland restaurant week. It was the very first time we have ever been to Mallorca. For the restaurant week, certain restaurants have a selected menu that you pick a starter, a main course, and a dessert for $39. I ordered a potato dish as my starter. It had a little zing to it. It was very good! My main meal was stuffed tilapia. It had cheese crabmeat, shrimp, and scallops with a lemon sauce over it. That was also delicious. The meals also came with grilled veggies and rice. Not much to say about that. My sister had the same thing to eat as I did, except she had gaspacho soup for her starter. She really liked it! For desert, we both had the flan. That was sooo good!! The service was amazing! I felt like I was at an upscale restaurant because our water glass was never empty! We had two waiters. One did the ordering and the other watched us to see if he had to fill our water glass. He also cleared the table when we were done. They both were very nice. We even had the opportunity to meet the owner. She was very nice and fun to talk to. I didn't pay attention to the regular menu, so I don't know what else they had and what their prices were. What my sister and I had was excellent and so was the service! Mallorca is a nice place to go on a date or for a special occasion.
Everything was delicious! The portions were so large we took home a meal for 2 to eat the next day! We had the chorizo appetizer, the baby goat entree, and the lamb shank entree, which came with a garden salad, rice, house vegetables, kettle-cooked chips, and fresh bread & butter. The meat was fall of the bone tender. We also took home 2 slices of cake for dessert: the red velvet and the tiramisu. We made reservations. I highly recommend eating here if in the Cleveland area! Every employee was friendly, polite, and always available. Two thumbs up!
This restaurant is top notch! Their staff is so friendly and accommodating. I’ve had George a couple times over the years coming in there he never disappoints with his service. #mallorcacleveland @mallorcacleveland #buzzybooth
Enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff who are on it and have a passion for hospitality. Authentic and well prepared food and lots of it! First time at Mallorca and certainly cant wait to visit again next time we are in Cleveland.
Very nice Spanish restaurant. The staff was super friendly and the food was excellent. The food came out hot and fresh and quick. The atmosphere was very fancy with linen tables cloths and napkins. Highly recommended if you are looking for great food and service.
Great dinner experience! Our sever Jorge was fantastic and explained the items on the menu with such excitement! The paella was excellent, as was the flaming coffee he made for us tableside
Fantastic experience! The food was delicious and brought out in a timely manner, the service was top notch, everyone was friendly and helpful. We couldn’t have had a better experience! From drinks, to appetizers, entrees, and dessert… we didn’t have a single complaint. We will be back I am sure!
Amazing staff and delicious food. Salmon was very fresh and when waiter saw I had to take a call before my entree came he had them keep it warm in kitchen! Very kind people.
Everytime me and my wife come here to eat it’s absolutely so friendly and inviting. The servers are so attentive and welcoming and the fact that we get to see the owner a lot of the time when we come to eat is so refreshing to see how much she cares and helps her staff
Mallorca is one of Cleveland’s true gems. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed like family and immediately transported into an atmosphere that feels both warm and celebratory. The menu is incredible: generous portions of authentic Spanish and Portuguese dishes with flavors that linger long after the meal. The seafood is consistently fresh, the paella is outstanding, and even the simple bread and garlic butter make you want to come back. What makes Mallorca unforgettable, though, is the service. The staff doesn’t just serve food; they create an experience. They’re attentive without being intrusive, and you can tell they genuinely care about making your visit special. If you’re looking for a restaurant that combines old-world charm, impeccable hospitality, and food worth raving about, Mallorca delivers every time.
I absolutely love Mallorca! Best authentic food in Cle, and most friendly staff around! I am gluten free and everyone is so accommodating. Love the vibes, I always have a fun time dining in:)
Laurie and her team do an amazing job every visit. We enjoy the delicious food and service is delivered with a smile. Mallorca is a must visit!
Good place to have a sea food . Had a chorizo on fire as an appetizer, with special paella which consists of chicken, sausage, shrimp, scallops , lobster and clams . It was a good quantity could be enough for two people depending upon appetite. Service was good too , however decor could have a potential to be updated . Overall good experience. This place is located very close to 100 public square or near bar Louie.
Pretty good Spanish food in a nice environment. Mostly full plate food, not tapas style. We shared some crab cakes and calamari, and I had a stuffed salmon special. All were pretty good...entrees were gigantic portions. Most people at the table were not able to finish their meal. The food was a bit expensive...would have been nice to pay a bit less and get normal size portion. Sides are served more family style which was good. Service was friendly, but a bit rough for an expensive restaurant. Environment was nice, tablecloth tables, higher end. There is a small patio as well in the front. Would go back again.
Hubby and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Mallorca. It was our first visit, we have been to other amazing Iberian menu restaurants in NJ, and NY so I was curious to see how Mallorca would measure up as fine dining in my hometown Cleveland. The food was authentic and savory. I had the stuffed salmon stuffed with a crab in marscapone cheese. Hubby had the garlic pork chops, with sides of saffron rice and steam veggies. Our appetizers chorizo and pulpo. "Pulpo" aka octopus was best I've had, not tough and chewy it was buttery soft and delicious. The staff were very amicable, they were attentive, filling glasses and even laying down the dinner napkins on your lap, nice touch! Also the Sangria was amazing. Owner was there to introduce herself and make sure to welcome guests with hugs and small talk. We told her it was our anniversary, so she arranged for the staff to bring us a "felicidades flan" to serenade us at the table! Overall the experience was wonderful. I didnt give the 5 star only because I felt the restaurant could use a bit of an update in decor. But definately worth another visit!
Wonderful experience! Wonderful service! We had the calamari, and the house special paella with sangria to drink. All was very good (lobster on the paella was a little tough). Well worth the visit!
It was me and my boyfriend’s first time here last night. The food was really good, we had ordered the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and for the entrees we had the paella and pork chops. We also ordered desserts and had the flan and tiramisu. The portions are definitely shareable and generous! Before arriving, I did read the reviews and expected really good service. Once my boyfriend and I were sat down, it took a while before anyone came to give us waters and menus. We saw tons of others around us getting serviced while we had to try to flag someone down and/or wait for a while. Overall, my experience was still good though and I’d still recommend for anyone to try this place out!
The food was delicious, atmosphere is nice and cozy. We celebrated our Anniversary here. Price was almost spot on for what I had planned for. You can estimate your trip by utilizing their menus posted online by other customers for price reference. They do have delicious Spanish wines both red and white. It was a fantastic dinner. I highly recommend #mallorcacleveland @mallorcacleveland #buzzybooth
Honestly, my expectations were HIGH. The food was not what you think you’d get when going to a “high-end-Restaurant” downtown. A bit on the plain side. The servers were awkward. Except for the guy that explains the menu. He was excellent, very friendly and energetic.
Medicore food. I ordered chicken in garlic sauce. There was not any garlic. Bland sauce. No even any garnish A full plate of tasteless rice. Cheesecake without sauce. Service was so so. Didn't even inform us that this was Cleveland Restaurant Week.
Most of the food was well prepared and nice. The Valencia paella was about $60, very beautiful, and cooked to rubber....no likey. Others found the salmon outstanding.
We are from our of town and saw good reviews so we took a chance. Overall it was a underwhelming dinner. My wife had the stuffed sole which was good. I had the paella. The paella was under seasoned. It needed salt and spice. The salads that came with the meal were an after thought. There were steamed broccoli and carrots which looked sad. The odd one was a plate of chips which were in desperate need of salt. Nothing was bad but for the price I was expecting excellent not mediocre. It was not worth the price. We were also ignored most of the evening. Drinks were not refilled and I had to go to the hostess station to get someone to bring us our bill after asking at least twice and waiting 20 minutes. By then end of the evening we left and found somewhere else for cocktails and dessert.
Amazing service, and awesome ambient. The food is just not good. The seafood was overcooked, the rice was watery at the bottom of the paella which is not good at all. A paella should be burned and crispy at the bottom. The rice was also lacking in flavor and seemed like just normal boxed yellow rice. Everything seemed like it was missing something and for a paella to be watery at the bottom shows this place knows nothing about how to properly make a paella. Huge disappointment, low quality poor executed food for a massive price.
My brother was in town so we went to celebrate our birthdays I ordered the paella and sangria So disappointed Lots of tasteless rice, tiny tiny shrimp that you had to look for buried, 2 scallops like button holes and the drum roll was half a lobster that was like rubber. The owner replaced it, yet it was still not acceptable but we just accepted it because it obviously was not gonna get better Sangria was just okay. I really am so surprised that this turned out to be one of the least favorite meals and then the $$price was insult to injury
The food was excellent. I can’t state that enough. From the moment we arrived though unfortunately, the service was not just unremarkable, it was just non existent. For being nominated for a James Beard award in hospitality, this was the antithesis of hospitable. It is Valentine’s Day, and we have had these reservations for close to a month, yet still we found ourselves flagging down the host. First for a drink menu, then for someone to take our order. Nobody was our actual waiter, which was so bizarre. Nobody we saw more than once except for the person coming to clear the plates. Nobody asking how our food was, if we wanted second drinks, desserts. It was a bummer to see this happening for everyone else in our section of the restaurant, and we felt forgotten about. I would love to come back for the food and the service this restaurant is known for, but unfortunately I don’t want to return if it means a repeat. I spent the last few weeks looking forward to celebrating this Valentine’s Day with my favorite person, and the service really dulled what should have been a very special experience. The paella was great though. Just so disappointed.
My husband and I just went here for our anniversary and I think it was just mediocre at best. The sangria was just ok. I've had better at some of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I didn't understand having the homemade potato chips. Bland with no salt. Broccoli and carrots with no seasoning at all. Boring. Yellow rice also bland. The shrimp I had was good with the spicy sauce. My husband had veal. Which was just ok as well. I've been wanting to go here hearing all the hype but we won't be going back.
I lived in Spain for over 3 years… this place is not authentic. It’s not even close to real Spanish food. Even if the owners are from Spain or Portugal, the food is awful. The paella is bland and tastes nothing like the ones in Spain. I also ordered patatas bravas and they came without red sauce — it was some sort of spicy oil they put on top of them. Terrible. Even if the food is not authentic, it just does not taste very good and is quite overpriced. I recommend Sangria Y Tapas on the west side for much better Spanish food!
First the good- the staff is very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Now the rest: On a recent trip to Cleveland, I came across Mallorca, and saw it offers paella. I was fairly optimistic after seeing the high number of reviews and overall rating. Paella is one of my favorite dishes- especially when well executed. Restaurants like Socarrat (NYC), Boqueria (NYC), Cub room (Rochester, NY) are some of my favorite restaurants for excellent paella, in the US. But oh sweet baby Jesus- this place…? perhaps the worst food I have had dinning out in a while. The paella was watery at the bottom- the rice seemed like something I could get from store-bought boxed yellow rice. The seafood…? one muscle tasted like something unholy happened to it- the lobster, which I suspect was frozen when we got there, was extremely tough, was not properly prepared (the green stuff inside was never removed, and imparted a less than ideal flavor) and the meat was beyond rubbery…. All of the seafood tasted like reheated frozen seafood tossed in with the boxed yellow rice and random spices, tossed into a paella dish and brought to the table. Needless to report, this was a tremendous disappointment… which is putting it politely. The stuffed salmon with lemon sauce special….How shall I put this….. this was worse than the paella…. I could have even overlooked the generic dinner salads and sliced bread- but these had proven to be the high points of the meal. Maybe the rest of their food is better…. However, staff and menu mention the paella is a signature dish- which honestly amazes me. Did we say anything to the staff? No. Why? This wasn’t one thing wrong…. In order to produce a meal like this…. There was no point for me to wait around for them to make me reservations at different restaurant.
The paella had a watery layer at the bottom, and the rice tasted like a basic boxed yellow rice mix. As for the seafood, one of the mussels had such an unpleasant taste that it was almost alarming. The lobster, which I’m pretty sure was frozen beforehand, was very tough and poorly prepared the green innards were still inside, giving it an off-putting flavor and the meat was extremely rubbery.
I give it a one because of the food and Value. I had the octopus. It was tender but poorly seasoned. I also had the linguini with shrimp. Linguini was mushy/overcooked. Garlic sauce was brown oily water. No taste of garlic. A few shrimp that looked like they came out of a bag. Salad was drizzled with orange Russian dressing. My wife’s veal was okay. Our bill was $200 BEFORE tip!!
Very disappointing food quality. Certainly not Spanish, far from authentic. Extremely bland paella, it's hard to believe that anyone with the slightest idea of how to cook can get something so bland. The rest of the food is not better. Is it that hard to find a chef who can follow a recipe in OH?
The most expensive terrible food we've ever had in Cleveland. The service was the absolute worst. Understandably because the staff was busy getting drunk off multiple bottles of wine at the front table. The bread was delicious. After that, when they finally took our drink and food orders almost an hr later, the drinks were watered down, our portobello appetizer was rancid, everything was cooked sub-par, overcooked or undercooked. This was a one and done situation. Maybe it was a bad day for the whole staff, but I cannot for the life if me figure out why this place won any awards. Hands down the worst restaurant we've ever been to in Cleveland.
Beautiful atmosphere, great service, ... food? ... don't order the steak. Best to go to Longhorn Steak and save yourself some $$$$$. Could not cut the steak with a knife. Brought this up with our server and it was laughed up and swept under the table. Unfortunate experience.
Our party of 10 had a terrible time on NYE. Our group trickled in and as we did they didnt have menus for everyone, never gave us a drink menu. Once we were able to flag someone down and ask they gave us ONE for a group of ten so we had to flag someone else down to ask for more. We were constantly waiting on our waters to be refilled. Someone in our party waited an hour for her Strawberry lemonade and only got it after having to ask for it again. During 630-650, we desperately tried getting out server to put in our order since our friends that weren't there yet texted us what they wanted. We asked the hostess and tried to flag our server down to no avail. Once our server took our order we NEVER saw him again. Not for the food drop, not to ask how it was, not even for checks. And we assume thats because he knew he was getting 20% tip no matter what, so he didnt care that his service was atrocious. DO NOT GET THE "FAMOUS" GARLIC CHICKEN, it was wet & tasteless. I heard the stuffed chicken and salmon wete good though. We weren't asked if we needed more bread until we asked for boxes and we had to ask for our checks TWICE. Needless to say none of us will ever be back & I will be advising anyone I know to avoid this place.
