Stopped here on a road trip and it exceeded our expectations. I put it right up there with just about any Thai I can get in SF or on the peninsula. We had: green curry, classic fried rice with chicken, pad Thai.
I am going to regret this rave review as I can always count on a fabulous, authentic Thai Food experience . If I could give 101 Thai Way ten stars, I definitely would. If I complained about the one negative (the ambiance next to a gas station), then again I'm reviewing one of the best authentic Thai food presentations not only in Cloverdale but this side of Thailand. A BIG meal presentation (with lots of curry sauce) from the extremely attentive wait staff.
My family and I stopped by on our way from Mendocino back to SF. We were craving Thai food and this definitely hit the spot! The owners are sweet and the portions are amazing~
I waited way too long to try this place. Everything I ordered was delicious, and I'm not exaggerating. It was a wonderfully presented mix of flavors and textures. Sweet, savory, crunchy, meaty, it all just worked together. I can't wait to eat here again.
I've eaten here many many times. There is another Thai restaurant in Cloverdale but it's not anywhere as good as this one next to Starbucks. I was in the restaurant business for decades in Berkeley and so I feel that my reviews are "informed". I start with knife skills. At 101 the house made cucumber relish is a flavorful melange of thinly cut cukes, tiny pieces of red bell peppers, teeny bits of Bermuda onions, etc. I'd give anything to know exactly what is in their deep fry batter! It's so crunchy and delicious, whether it coats prawns, mushrooms or tender bites of pink beef tenderloin! If you like fried food, and who doesn't, you must try 101's version. Lastly, the single woman who is the chef, manager, owner and host is a marvelously competent and lovely woman. The quality of food from an ingredient point of view is superior.
It is a small town restaurant the space is ok but the experience with the service is great seriously refreshing compared to our daily routine. The food is so dang good. I hate driving past and not stopping it is one of my favorite places to eat and I live over 100 miles away.
Michelin star flavors at working people's prices. My friend and I had the seafood skillet and it was incredible. Such a friendly restaurant too. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Great food! We got the salmon salad and spicy shrimp. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the flavors were really good across both dishes. The shrimp was a little spicy but nothing crazy. Service was really good, and there are a couple small tables out in the shade.
The food is exceptionally delicious, a must try!
This place is a hidden gem! My husband and I visited last night for dinner and it was unexpectedly great! The location leaves something to be desired, but the food was really the best thai we have had in awhile. We liked the salad dressing so much that we actually purchased a to-go container of it! Everything was very fresh tasting. Next time we are back in the area we will certainly go back!
My wife and I loved the food! The service is great. It's your typical "mom & pop" place where they work their tails off to make sure you are happy. I've seen a lot of these places where the staff might yell at each other and I look for that. That was not the case here. Everyone was very polite and seemed to enjoy what they do.
Great Family run Thai place. The owner was very nice, attentive and the food was awesome and portions were great. We got Spicy Thai Tofu Fried Rice and Spicy Tofu Drunken Noodles and both were great. Will like to visit here again.
Loved the food there. Right on the 101 its such a good dine in place. Loved the service, food was so flavorful. Green curry and drunken noodles are must try. One of the best thai food I have had.
Don't let the exterior or location turn you away from some very good Thai food. Very good fresh food and good service. It is not a fine dining experience, no table cloths, though they did have cloth napkins. Jus a no frills place to enjoy good food.
We got the Thai green coconut curry, pad Thai, and Thai noodle soup and it was all good. They were all $18 and it was good portions for sharing. The service was good and they making sure we found the food ok. The restaurant is near a gas station, by once you are inside, you don’t see the gas station.
The restaurant is a hole in the wall, shares the parking area w the gas station. I was skeptical but all the review raving about the place was not wrong. Fried tofu was perfect toasted, firecracker shrimp was so delicious! And the veggies it laid on amazing. We also ordered a seafood plate and chicken basil. Everything was perfectly cooked. The flavors spot on. The owner was super nice, she said they have been there for 11 years.
Everything we ordered was made fresh . The food was very , very good ! Mama was fast to make the 3 different dishes our party ordered . Peanuts w/chicken so yummy . Tom Kha was very good , I ordered mine with out tomato and was no issue . This is a comfort food for me . I ordered this dish to take home with me but it never made it . It was so good I could not stop until I finished my bowl of soup , on the hottest day of the year so far 😂 I highly recommend this mostly take out but have some tables inside place as my new fav Thai food restaurant. Thank you 101 Thai way ! We look forward to going back .
The restaurant smelled wonderful as soon as we walked in. The staff was sweet and accommodating - They knew exactly how to make the dishes vegan and were happy to do so. We ordered the vegan versions of the drunken noodles and spicy fried rice. The food arrived quickly and both dishes were absolutely delicious! Portions were generous and there was plenty of tofu to make up for the eggs we skipped. The space was unassuming and cozy, and filled with cute plants. I asked if I could take a spider plant cutting for propagating in my home garden, and they kindly said yes! Overall I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting or passing by the area.
Five stars are not enough to express how amazing this place is. It exceeded all my expectations of what a fast-food restaurant should be. The team working here is operating at a 5-star restaurant level. The food is excellent, and I regret not taking pictures before digging in because everything was so delicious and meticulously prepared. The depth of flavor in each meal shows the skill of a master chef. I will return here to eat every time I'm in the area. I've saved the location to my map.
This is hands down one of the best thai foods I've had. I usually don't like Pot stickers but these were really good, they do have an odd shape but the taste was incredible. Clean environment and nice people, I would definitely come back when I'm in the area.
My daughter and I stopped here for lunch and it was so delicious! We had the Tom Kha Coconut soup, Beef Pad Se Ew, Spicy Beef Eggplant stir fry, & Spicy Wings. The portions were generous, the food was flavorful, and I loved all the veggies. The service was excellent and friendly. Would definitely recommend!
I LOVE this place. It has saved me during this pregnancy, as their food is pregnant lady friendly. After having major meat aversions, their thom kha soup and pad see ew with tofu just hits the spot. Their green apple salad is to die for. Good portion sizes and good food quality.
Was looking for a place with vegetarian options after a long drive and this was the closest one to us. The server was awesome, very responsive. We ordered green curry and Vegitable soup. Soup of best with perfect balance of spices. Green Curry was also great, vegetables were perfectly cooked. Next time if I travel on this route, will definitely visit them.
Most Excellent. I discovered this little place years ago, traveling from Eureka to the Bay Area, and stop every chance I can. The food is fresh, tasty and the servings are large and delicious. The service is friendly and very helpful.
Went there after a very long day at work for some dinner and was very happy with the results. Very nice atmosphere and the service was excellent. Highly recommend

We always plan our passing through Cloverdale so we can stop here for lunch or dinner. Seriously delicious. And helpful for gluten-free dining.
Visited here as it was the halfway point for the 5 hour drive home from my grandma's.Such a cool atmosphere, so many plants, so homey and comforting.noodles were absolutely delicious and the lady serving us was so sweet. Our food was ready quickly as well. Bathroom was clean, well stocked with nice hand soap, and even featured a plant. A very welcome change from the gas stations we had stopped at previously. I highly recommend :)
Best thai food!! I stop every time I am driving up from San Diego. The papaya salad is excellent! All the Curries I have tried over the years are all good. I will always stop and enjoy!
Great, fresh food with LOVELY flavor!! The owner was VERY helpful with answering our questions and helping us select the right dishes. Very prompt, as well.

Drunk noodles were great. Got the beef and 3 spicy. Just about right for me. If you like large noodles, thus is the fish for you. Service and the rest were great and the food came out quick. Can't complain.
Don't be put off by the restaurant's proximity to the gas station or Taco Bell. Once inside you'll smell and see the delicious food and greeted warmly by the staff (owners?). A gentleman brought in a huge armload or fresh peppermint through to the kitchen, and there's no doubt after eating there that the food was very fresh and delicious.
Solid, mostly standard-issue Thai restaurant. It's our go-to if hungry when passing through Cloverdale. Always friendly service. The crispy cashew chicken is very nice when fresh out of the kitchen!
Very good food, nice and hot. Good spice, I have never had jalapenos in my curry before, so it was different but very good. Good service, friendly. Prices are a bit high for Thai in my opinion from what I usually pay. Thai iced tea was very good.
Good Thai food. We have had better Thai food elsewhere, but this small restaurant in Cloverdale is a good option. The vegan papaya salad was our favorite. So tasty and authentic. The other two main dishes were Ok (eggplant and fried rice). I think the owner makes better authentic Thai food.
The name 101 Thaiway attracted us here and it was totally worth trying. The weather demanded us to have a hot Tom yum soup and some basil fried rice. Food was prepared fresh for our order and the lady who served us was polite. The tea quenched our thirst and warmed us for a good Thai meal. It’s a small place which is right off the freeway. Recommend it!
The staff is super nice. My pad see ew however had no chicken when they said it comes with chicken, and my box had a hair in it. There were only prawns that i added $6 for. The taste is not very thai more like fusion with sour sauces but overall i still enjoyed it.
For being a random place in the middle of the highway it was super surprising to see such a delightfully named punny place! Good: - Really tasty food - huge fan of the pad see ew chicken - it had a lot of good seasoning - Huge portions - Cheap! Staff is super nice too - Almost no added time on our drive from fort bragg down to SF Bad: - Really simple ambiance place, it's pretty much self serve if you eat inside Overall a really convenient stop and happy about our experience!

This is a difficult place for me to rate. The entire experience was just... odd. It began by realizing the restaurant is in a gas station parking lot—not a deal-breaker or anything, just a little unusual. But the real "hmmm" began when we stepped inside and the place was filled with cooking smoke (the kitchen is fairly open to the dining space). The smoke and burnt smell made me want to turn around and leave since I could see it in the air, but we'd driven ten minutes to get there and the other options would have been twenty minutes away. We were seated and given menus. Water was delivered quickly and we didn't have to wait long for food. The Pad Thai was on the less-good side of those I've had, but the Tom Kah soup was among the best, which is the only thing that saved that from being a three-star. While the smoke did eventually clear, it took a solid 15 minutes to dissipate and really set a poor tone at the beginning of our meal. I think this is one of those places that's better as a take-out joint than order-in.

First off, my 3 stars is a normal persons five stars, people not many resteraunts are 4 or 5 stars. So ThaiWay 101 is super good Thai food. Easy off the highway location, friendly staff and again yummy food. Everything I've had there I've liked. Great-2-Go!
Visiting from out of town. This place was reccomended to us. Very tasty. I got the green curry with chicken and some pad thai. The reason I rated this place 3 stars is because when we were ordering, she said everything on the menu was an extra dollar... so today a dollar, tomorrow 2 and so forth. What's the point of a menu if you're just going to change the prices everyday?
We wanted a decent meal after a day of wine tasted and found this place on the way back home. It’s a small little place, but they were able to seat us right away for dinner. I got the bruschetta, coconut soup, and chicken pad si eiw. I started with the soup and it was pretty good – not the best I’ve had but decent. Then we got the chicken pad si eiw and it was pretty good as well. Nothing spectacular about this dish, but nothing to complain about either. And then we got our bruschetta, which I thought was an appetizer, but I didn’t mind that much. It’s pretty much shrimp with avocado on top of bruschetta slices with a peanut sauce on top. Sadly, this wasn’t my favorite as the shrimp wasn’t super fresh and the peanut sauce tasted kind of weird. Overall, it’s a decent place to grab a bite to each when heading back home to the bay.
I really wanted to like this place but the food didn't quite live up to what I was hoping for. The fried rice was SUPER salty, we could barely finish it. The yellow curry was fine, nothing special. $35 for both was too much for what the food is.

After my meal I was short changed 20 dollars and the lady wanted to argue about it and insisted I took the 20 dollars. Ive waited tables professionally on the North Shore of Chicago and somebody would have been fired for treating a customer so disrespectfully. This was the worst and most disrespectful service I have ever had in my life, a waiter accusing a customer in front of their customers of stealing money. This is not how any owner or employee should handle this situation when they obviously messed up and ripped me off. I had over 600 in my wallet, shameful because I also work as a cook and have been in this industry for over 25 years and would never steal a dime of any restaurants money. What a joke
