Nice and clean place. Friendly staff and everything we ordered was delicious ;-) The "patatas revolconas" (mashed potatoes with paprika and bacon) were a bit too vinegary, depending on your preference. The "huevos rotos" (broken eggs) with wild boar were delicious, as was the rice with partridge. We'll definitely be back, hungry for some suckling pig. Christmas is a terrible time to go out for a proper meal.
We looked at a thousand restaurants to eat suckling pig in Segovia; we didn't want to go to the capital! And in the end, we chose La Matilla! What a great decision! Everything was spectacular, a 10 out of 10 (and I have a very discerning palate). We opted for the traditional dishes; we couldn't leave this region without trying its authentic cuisine. We started with some chicharrones (fried pork rinds), some judiones (large white beans), suckling pig 🐷, and finally, Segovian punch. Each course was better than the last! And the service was amazing—super attentive, friendly, and fast! The whole experience was a delight! Thank you so much!
If you go to Collado Hermoso or are in Segovia you have to go eat here, very friendly, we arrived around 4 pm, they served us incredibly, some very delicious grilled asparagus, judiones, entrecote and a beef steak that fell off the plate, the place is sensational and has a terrace to have coffee with a splash of orujo cream that revives you, come try it, we will definitely come back...🤗
We booked a meal for 10 people, and the food (portion and quality) was perfect. The bathrooms are a bit dated and small for the entire restaurant. It's best to eat in the garden, where there's shade and a quiet place to eat. I didn't give the service a 5-star rating because some dishes took quite a while, but the waiters were very friendly. I highly recommend it if you're in the area.
Excellent restaurant just 20 minutes from Segovia. A classic grill restaurant. Good spaces, both indoor and outdoor, pleasant atmosphere, well-spaced tables, clean and tidy, and beautifully maintained rustic decor. The staff were very friendly, attentive, efficient, and quick. The food was excellent, very flavorful, and the portions were generous. There is ample parking. Highly recommended; we will definitely return.
Excellent country side restaurant. The food is typical from hunting or farms with special things like boar chorizo or deer sausage. Service is traditional and attentive. 1/4 lamb to be ordered beforehand was delicious for three guests. Finally desserts look really homemade and super tasty. Despite busy times at lunch, this was not too noisy.
Good food, service and prices
La Matita is authentic. Run by Segovianos who remember and who appreciate their guests.
Good stop for coffee
A place with excellent food, especially the beans and game dishes, which were exceptional. The value for money is very good, making it an ideal choice for enjoying local cuisine. Strengths: • Quality of the dishes: Everything we tried was very well prepared and tasty. • Beans and game dishes: Without a doubt, the stars of the menu; a culinary experience that does not disappoint. • Price: Very reasonable for the quality offered. Aspects for improvement: • Atmosphere: It would be ideal if the space were a little more welcoming and warm, especially in winter, to complement the dining experience. A restaurant we will definitely return to. With a little effort on the ambiance, it could be perfect. Recommended for lovers of good food and traditional flavors.
I had this place on my list to visit, and it was a great choice. We tried their farm-cooked beans and their stone-cooked ox steak. The beans lacked a bit of flavor, but the steak was delicious. For dessert, we had the torrija, which was delicious, very, very good. For an appetizer, they served us some rather bad, chewy torreznos…it's a place I would definitely return to.
Great food and afordable prices!!
We visited this restaurant, located about 20 minutes from Segovia, attracted by its traditional Castilian cuisine. We were two diners, and the experience had its ups and downs, which are worth mentioning. For starters, we ordered croquettes, which were tasty but not memorable; we'd probably choose something else on a future visit. For main courses, we shared a boletus risotto, which was a real disappointment: lacking in flavor, not creamy at all, and with an almost liquid texture. However, the suckling pig was a real success: crispy skin, tender and juicy interior, perfectly executed. The dessert, a brioche French toast, delivered without surprising: a classic that never fails. The service was friendly and attentive, a strong point in the restaurant's favor. However, the space is in desperate need of renovation. The bathrooms were particularly neglected, with a worrying level of dirt; in particular, the wastebasket in the women's restroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The chairs were very uncomfortable, and both the furniture and tableware showed signs of having been outdated for several decades. In short, we would return for the suckling pig, but the rest of the experience—especially regarding hygiene and comfort—leaves much to be desired. I hope they take note, because the potential is there.
