Solstice Kitchen

We made reservations on their open-table link for 7.45 and decided to visit the other wine bar next door while we waited. Management called us earlier in the day to confirm our arrival and I was excited to dine with Solstice. We arrived a little early not knowing if our table would be ready. We were greeted by two lovely, smiling team members who told us we could be seated a bit early. Our table was beautiful! We were seated on a bench near the window which gave us a clear view of the entire dining room. We were greeted by a delightful team member who informed us later her husband was one of the Chefs! PERFECT! What do we need to order? After being mesmerized by their wine menu, I chose a 2013 Hewitt Cabernet. She follows our taste pour with a decanter, because this wine needed to breathe. I knew at this point I needed a fatty protein. She recommended the Ribeye, which was cooked to perfection. It was a bit gritty and required a strong hand to cut, but the garnish and sides made up for it. Richard ordered a Chef special she recommended at it was delightful in presentation and garnish. The rice side was served in a separate bowl and a bit bland. But hey- it’s rice. The Chef sent us out a complimentary small bite of his chicken salad, which was divine! If I were a local, I’d eat that for lunch everyday! We offered Christine a taste of our wine, which I watched her share it with her team. Overall, we had a wonderful dinner, with amazing service while sipping on a rare 2013 Cabernet! This team was attentive and helpful amongst one another. Solstice is our favorite place to dine. We love every aspect of this restaurant. Every experience here has been superb. The food is always prepared perfectly. Every server has made us feel welcome and taken care of our every need. I highly recommend Solstice Kitchen, five stars is not enough!

This was an amazing place to have my daughter's impromptu wedding reception. We were looking for a last minute eatery. I live in another state and read several recent reviews. I reached out to them. Left a message and was contacted by Kelly the next day. She had a tentative event and couldn't book our event unless the other party backed out. Kelly worked hard to get a result ( yay or nay) and gave us the go ahead with 2 weeks to the event with ease she sent the contract and got us set up in less than 48 hours after giving us the good news. The event tonight was beyond wonderful. The waitstaff, the venue the food was above par. Thank you Solstice for bringing my child joy on her special day.

The absolute best food of our 15 day 5,500 mile road trip hands down! Nothing came close regardless of price. I wish we had this in Miami. Great food, and I mean great, nice wine selection, very friendly efficient and knowledgeable service. What a welcome surprise!!!

I was in town for work and tried this place, then didn't go anywhere else for dinner the rest of the week. Bryce is far and away the best bartender I've ever had and made the experience there next level awesome. The food was absolutely amazing and made it one of the best restaurants I've been to my whole life. I can't wait to come back whenever I get the chance just to eat here.

Love, love, love this restaurant there's absolutely nothing negative I can say about this restaurant! The service is great and the food is greater! The mashed potatoes are out of this world and so are the pork spring rolls..... Solstice Kitchen has some of the best locally sourced food in Columbia. We eat at the sister restaurant often but we are just as close to Solstice. We had our company Christmas party here and the servers were quick and attentive. Most importantly, the food was excellent. We selected several appetizers before the meal and they were all delicious. The entrees all came out within 5 minutes of each other which was great for our party!

My new favorite place! I think they have the best crabcakes I've had in MY LIFE!!😋😋 The fried green tomatoes were also delicious. Service was great as well, so I'll definitely return.

Great food. My wife tried the restaurant week menu steak and I had the filet. Both were excellent. We appreciated that they didnt rush the courses out on us. They brought out one wrong dessert but fixed it very quickly. Would definitely recommend and return.

Stopped for dinner while traveling after reading reviews. Solstice Kitchen was awesome. Our entrees were the meatloaf special with mashed potatoes and collards and the bronzed salmon with grits and sautéed green beans. The farm to table lived up to the hype and my high bar for delicious fresh food. Kudos to the chef and to Renee who was attentive and answered our every question.

Solstice is one of my very favorite restaurants. We recently hosted a rehearsal dinner for 34 guests in honor of our son's wedding and the food was delicious and the service was outstanding. It was easy to plan and went off without a hitch. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Solstice is a great place for fine dining and experiencing different and creative flavors. Everything we ordered was was well made and tasted fantastic. I highly recommend saving room for dessert. The waitress was very attentive and helpful . The dinner menu is pretty pricey, so be prepared to spend some money; but it's worth every penny.

The food and atmosphere were both amazing. I ordered the pork chop and words cant express how mouthwatering the dish was. I highly recommend this place for any event. The service was outstanding and I will definitely come back.

Absolutely fantastic food! The porkchop I had was the best piece of meat I've ever had! It was served with an incredible housemade BBQ sauce and all the sides were phenomenal! Definitely a great option for a special treat.

Absolutely amazing experience. Read some pretty rave reviews so decided to take my girlfriend here on a whim to see what Solstice was all about. The ambiance was really nice and the food was absolutely outstanding. To be completely honest after having that Walu special I have to say that was the best food I have had since dining at Circa 1886 in Charleston a couple years ago, shout outs to the chef for a job VERY well done. The waiter Kyle took great care of us and gave perfect recommendations, everything went great. Will definitely be coming back, thank you for providing such a great dining experience and wonderful unique dishes in the Columbia area!

Great restaurant. The owner has three successful restaurants in Columbia. This one is the white table cloth experience. There is a very nice wine list. There is a bar in addition to the dining room. The menu changes constantly according to what seasonal items are available. Check their menu online. Their chicken breast with Tasso Han gravy is wonderful and a bargain. Their drinks are creative. A special favorite of mine is the John Daly. There is a nice private room, complete with ceiling mount projector, drop down screen and Internet access. It is ideal for a business meeting dinner. There is an outside eating area that is quite nice if the weather is cooperating. Well behaved dogs are welcome to accompany you there. They even have special events for dogs and their owners.

You absolutely have to have the deviled egg appetizer. I always get one to go so I can enjoy it the next day. The staff is very attentive I love the atmosphere. Very helpful with wine selections. I can be extremely picky about my wines I've been told but they always showed great patience and have wonderful suggestions. And I enjoy their entrees and their specials.

My boyfriend and I came here for my 35th Birthday last night Dec.27 and the food was delicious. The staff were wonderful, our waiter Jordon was excellent. My cake was on the house and for our wait they gave us delicious fried green tomatoes that had i think pulled pork or chicken on top with other ingredients. We felt very welcomed.

Service was great and everything we ate was amazing! Highly recommend the fried oysters! The food was SO good! The restaurant itself is a little small, so you don't get a ton of privacy, but it made for a wonderful dinner for my wife and I. We will definitely be returning! Keep up the great work guys! 👍

Another great experience. The food is always delicious. Tonight they brought us a wonderful little snack before our entree came it was a great surprise. The atmosphere is very nice but not stuffy. The service was wonderful. Very attentive without being annoying.

This was one of the best dinners I've ever had. We're ordered off the specials menu and the braised short ribs were spectacular. I had a peanut butter and caramel bread pudding for dessert that was amazing, but the best was the smoked gouda and bacon macaroni and cheese. I actually ordered one to go for lunch the next day. The wine list isn't overwhelming, but has some really good selections. Our server, Cam, was great--friendly, funny and helpful. I'll definitely go back when I'm in the area.

Always amazing food, service, and atmosphere. Definitely on the pricey end for a night out, but we've never been disappointed. They typically bring a small taster dish compliments of the chef which is a great bonus also. Rich flavors, great cocktail selection, and a rotating selection of original dishes.

Great food presentation and taste. Not your everyday ho-hum menu. Be prepared to spend a little more here. It's worth it for the friendly wait staff and knowledgeable bar staff. The calamari is not typical...its deliciously different. Try it. If you live in Northeast Columbia you should have been here by now.

Incredible experience. Amazing service from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. The food is unparalleled by anything I've had in the area and they treat you like you are the only customer there. I wish I could recall the name of our server. He was excellent. The shrimp and grits are out of this world, the steak is melt in your mouth amazing and they even sent us out samples of other treats they had cooking up in the kitchen. Top notch joint.

My wife and I enjoyed a flawless evening at Solstice Kitchen for our wedding anniversary! First, they honored the seating request I made in the reservation. The seat was cozy, lights were dimmed, candle was lit, and the ambience was perfect (romantic but not too stuffy). We arrived at 7pm on a Wednesday night and it was pretty crowded, but by 7:30pm the crowd began to thin out. Secondly, the food was delicious! Our bbq spring rolls were nice and crisp, and the creole cole slaw was very complimentary. For entrees, I had the halibut and my wife had the buttermilk fried chicken. Both were prepared well, and neither of us finished our meal. We saved room for dessert, and the cheesecake was worth it! Lastly, our server maintained the perfect balance of attentiveness and privacy. He was there when we needed him, and away while we enjoyed each other. Also, I don’t know if they always provide this, but he surprised us with a watermelon/mint refresher that cleansed our palate between the appetizer and dinner. It was much appreciated! He knew the menu well, and his recommendations rang true to our experience. We definitely hope to return soon!

This is a really nice restaurant and I was really impressed by the service and food. For the most part, everyone enjoyed their food. I ordered the pork chop with mashed potatoes and collard greens. I paid around $27 for this meal. The pork chop was amazing and the mashed potatoes were ok. It just comes down to preference. The collard greens have a vinegary taste to them and the mashed potatoes are more light and fluffy. I sampled the Mac and cheese as well as the spring rolls and both were good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and I will be returning.

My other half ordered the filet cooked medium. It was PERFECT! The buttermilk mashed potatoes were fabulous. The server told us he had a surprise for us in which he brought out a pork belly appetizer. It was very good. We were stuffed after our meal and we had yet another surprise.

By far my favorite restaurant in Columbia, SC! Great atmosphere and great food. If you have a taste for great southern food I can highly recommend the Green Fried Tomatoes as an appetizer. All I can say it's out of this world delicious! I can also recommend Buttermilk fried chicken breast, one of my favorite items on the menu. I'm never disappointed when I come here and the staff is super friendly too.

Absolutely fantastic!! I called in over a week before and asked for their best table. Apparently with all the flowers I bought it wasn't gonna work with a table for two. They gave us two tables for 5 to facilitate all the roses!! We love this restaurant.

We had a fantastic meal. Our waiter Roger was fantastic. He kept our glasses filled and had a great personality. It appeared that he was working harder than any of the other guys in there but he was professional and took great care of us despite all he was doing to help out the other staff.

The service was top notch from the hostess to our waiter Jake, and even management by being attentive and just nice. The food was Devine! The drinks were tasty without being too strong or watered down. The atmosphere was cheerful, and me along with the group of people I came with had a genuinely good time!

First time visiting. It was very nice inside and spacious. Light crowd but it was later in their lunch schedule. The waiter was pleasant and kept the water glasses full. I had the Peach Bellini and it was pretty good.

This place is fabulous!! The food is a little pricey so we only go there for a special occasion but it was so good. I had buffalo sliders and they were so yummy. I had never had this type of meat before. Then the crab cakes were scrumptious!! I highly recommend this place.

Nice place to eat and get a couple of drinks. Upscale clientele. Would give it 5 stars if they had table clothes to make it feel more elegant. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Had dinner last night and food was terrific. There were a few minor glitches but no worries. Our server Jordan is great! Attentive, pleasant with helpful suggestions. The bartender is outstanding! Absolutely the best drink made exactly as I asked...each time! Yummmm. We will definitely be returning. My vegetable curry special was beyond delicious. My husbands seared scallops were phenomenal as was my sister’s halibut special. All around just a great meal experience.

Good food, ambiance and service. I grew up with pork having to be well done, so the pink-in-the-middle chop left me unimpressed, but the outer portion was very tasty. The green beans and mashed potatoes were excellent. This is not the fault of the restaurant, but people bringing their babies to a nice restaurant after 8:00 need to keep them quiet or leave them home!

Had lunch yesterday with my daughters and was quite disappointed with the food and service. I have been your establishment on multiple occasions and been very pleased with the food and service. However, this time the food choices were poor the specials were not up to par with the caliber of your establishment and one was out-of-stock with no replacement offered. We had to ask for extra items when we could find our server. Lindsay, our servers was good but very busy. We had to send an item back because it wasn't prepared properly. We were still charged for it. Overall it was not a good dining experience. My family and I usually celebrate many of our special occasions with you but you need to step up your game if you want to keep our business.
